We've all had plenty of cringey chat up lines come our way in the club, but one guy took it to the ultimate level of extra with his pick up attempts, and we're kind of living for it.

Marissa, a 21-year-old student, took to Twitter to share her unique experience with a guy who presented her with a business card, complete with QR code, in the club.

The guy had printed out a double-sided business card with a photo of himself on one side, and a million ways to contact him on the other.

The most innovative part was that the iPhone-shaped card held a QR code scanner, which can be used to directly bring the scanner to a website.

Impressive? We think so.

After the tweet went viral, the man behind the card came out to tell his new fans that the code brings people straight to his Sound Cloud page, where the aspiring rapper promotes his music.

Fantastical Carpé told Buzzfeed that he uses his business cards to chat to women in an original manner, all while promoting his music.

'I ultimately want to quit my 9-5, make music and pursue creative endeavours all the while being able to support myself,' he told Buzzfeed.

Well, we're pretty sure he'll be getting quite a few more listens on his Sound Cloud thanks to this post…

Dads are probably the hardest people to get a present for.

They usually don't care about fashion or beauty, we've already bought them about 15 books and we are way too broke to be getting them a sportscar or a skydive.

With a bit of imagination though, making your dad happy isn't that complicated.

A nice bottle of wine or a baked good are cheap and adequate alternatives to a pricey gift and will 100 per cent put a smile on his face.

For those of you who don't feel like baking a three-tier cake (who can do that anyway?!), this delicious banana bread definitely does the trick and might make you the star-baker of the day.

Chocolate banana bread

Ingredients

125g butter, melted
200g flour
125g sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 ripe bananas, mashed
200g chocolate chips

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Generously grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.

Mix in the butter, mashed bananas and eggs.

Stir in the chocolate chips and pour into the prepared pan.

Bake for about 60 minutes.

Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out and let cool completely.

Getting ready for a big night out can often be the best part of the entire night.

Getting the girls around for 'a few' pre-drinks while everyone primps and preens themselves over a glass of gin & tonic is where the goss is divulged, and sometimes leaving the house for the club gets pushed back later and later thanks to the catch ups

I'm usually a no fuss, no frills kind of girl, and if my hair gets brushed before hitting the bar, I consider myself made up.

A post shared by D R Y & F L Y (@dryandflydublin) on

Dry & Fly Blow Dry Beauty Bar, nestled on the second floor above L'Occitane on Wicklow Street, is designed with the sole purpose of bringing women together for some quality time, all while getting pampered ahead of a night out.

I went along to see exactly what pre drinks pampering was all about, and to get a sneak peek of what is destined to be one of Dublin's buzziest salons.

The city centre space is, for want of a better term, Instagram-worthy, with a modern but feminine aesthetic, assisted by the paint washed exposed brick, pink neon signs and copper accents.

Steven, the giant dog statue, who looks like a piece of art, is actually a speaker imported from France for the sole purpose of bringing the ultimate ladies night playlist to Dry & Fly's clients, adds to the ambience.

The blow drying stations are positioned specifically so that groups of gal pals can get their hair and nails done as a group ahead of an event, and the salon offers each client a glass of Glendalough gin and tonic garnished with blood orange and rosemary (delish) or a glass of Prosecco to get the party started.

The beauty bar even boasts a DJ booth, where local DJs spin tracks on Friday and Saturday nights while clients enjoy their luxurious blowdries.

Andrew O'Neill, one of the founders and visionaries behind the salon, sought to create a cool, collective experience for women to go straight from the salon to their destination, freshly made up and ready to take the town.

Big, bouncy blow outs are the aim of the creative stylists at Dry & Fly, and and their look book features all the classics, from the sleek and straight glossy blow out to Hollywood waves.

For those feeling a little more experimental, the salon stylists are also well versed in festival braids, dramatic pony tails and up-dos.

A post shared by SHEmazing! (@shemazingie) on

The salon deal exclusively with Kevin Murphy hair products, a staple in the beauty arsenals of both beauty bloggers and professional hair stylists across the country.

Gin in hand and after a quick flick through the salon's look book, I settled on the Ty Twist blow dry, a beachy, bouncy look that gave life to my long and admittedly lifeless locks.

I opted for the full experience, getting my hair washed in one of the salon's comfy basins, with a full view of the painted letters on the ceiling, which read 'relax, you're not cheating on your hairdresser.'

You can also come in with your hair washed and just go straight for a dry blow out.

I sat down in one of the socially set-out chairs to have my hair and nails done simultaneously, feeling like I was one pink silk robe away from a backstage Victoria's Secret moment.

The salon seats, laid out so that friends can face each other and chat, were ideal for receiving both treatments at once.

Having two stylists working on my hair and nails seemed like the ultimate pinnacle of having notions, but hey, who doesn't want to feel like they're working with a Kardahian-esque glam squad at least once in their lives?

The salon is open until 10pm on Friday and Saturday for those pre-night out blow dry sessions, and from 7am to 7pm through the rest of the week.

According to emerging reports, Simon Cowell is in the process of organising a charity record to pay tribute to those affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy this week.

The music mogul took to Twitter in the aftermath of Wednesday's blaze and expressed his sympathies over the incident which has, thus far, claimed the lives of 17 people.

"I am watching the footage of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. Heartbreaking," he wrote in a tweet last night.

In a move which has garnered considerable support, Simon went on to write: "We hope to confirm a record tomorrow which will raise some money for the many people affected by this tragedy. Making calls tonight."

While it is not yet clear which artists will feature on the charity record, Simon is adamant that anyone in a position to help should do so.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain hosts, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, he said; "For all of us living in the vicinity, we have the ability to do something. I just thought what do you do? First of all you can raise some money and that’s important."

“Secondly, what I hope will happen is that it will send a message to those involved that there’s an awful lot of people who care very much about what you’re going through.”

Acknowledging his global status, he added: “For me in my position not to do something would be appalling. It sent chills through me. I do genuinely believe this will make a difference.”

Stars including Adele, Rita Ora and Lily Allen have made trips to the scene of Wednesday's blaze in an effort to comfort members of the community.

Last month, Lena Dunham was forced to call Us Weekly out on their coverage of her weight loss.

The magazine ran a feature on the star and used her recent weight loss as a platform to provide so-called diet tips.

And Lena, unsurprisingly, wasted no time highlighting the fact that numerous medical conditions were actually responsible for her weight loss, and therefore not something any woman should aspire towards.

In a similar vein this week, the Girls creator took to Instagram to share a nude photo of herself alongside a caption which illustrates the progress the actress has made in relation to her own self-worth and body image.

"Just wanted to share that one of the reasons @eatingboys has inspired me so much is because of the way she mixes her humor and sexuality," Lena began.

"I spent so many years loving my body but thinking it wasn't lovable by others- its sole purpose was to be fodder for jokes," she wrote.

"I performed the insult so no one else could," she added. "I don't regret any of it- that's my art and that was my truth."

However, it sounds like the star's perspective has changed somewhat, and her medical history has gone a long way towards contributing to it.

"Now, at age 31, having been through hell and back with my health and other people's perceptions of my physicality, I feel deeply comfortable with the idea that this pear-shaped pot of honey is equally good for making people laugh and laying out like a Suicide Girl circa 2004. Love it all."

Lena's upload struck a chord with her followers and has amassed almost 40,000 likes so far.

"You are absolutely gorgeous and quite the inspiration to me as I have insecurities ab my body as well," wrote one Instagram user. (sic)

"Keep on keeping on @lenadunham and continue to create & u will undoubtedly inspire more of us! Thank you for showing beauty is not restricted to a size 4 with minimal curves & that a woman's mind is just as beautiful (if not more so) than her body."

Karrueche Tran has finally been granted a full restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Chris Brown allegedly made multiple threats of violence against the model, as well as physical harm including punching her in the stomach and pushing her down a flight of stairs.

A post shared by  (@chrisbrownofficial) on

The model testified in court on Thursday, with the judge ruling that the restraining order remain in place for five years, according to TMZ.

She has been attempting to secure the order for months.

Karrueche testified that Brown had made a number of threats to her via text and voice mail.

According to TMZ, one such text read 'B**** I will beat the s**t out of you' and 'I promise you I will make your life hell.'

He also requested that she return some gifts he had given her during the relationship.

Brown did not attend the hearing.

The singer was previously arrested in 2009 for attacking then girlfriend Rihanna.

Khloe Kardashian has been in hot water lately, as an independent designer accused her of copying her designs.

The KUWTK star introduced a range of bodysuits to her Good American collection, which designer Destiney Bleu claims were stolen from her.

Destiney Blue, who allegedly received a cease and desist letter from Good American after the claims, creates bedazzled clothing items for her brand Dbleudazzled, and has had her garments worn by pop culture icons such as Rihanna and Beyonce.

The designer sought legal action against Khloe, and tweeted a number of alleged email and text correspondences between herself and Khloe's then-stylist and assistant requesting that items from her collection be sent to Khloe.

She claims that the Kardahian star ordered 'one of everything' from her website, in order to copy the designs for herself.

'When someone buys 1 of everything on your site, has you make them custom @dbleudazzled work, never posts it or wears it, then copies it,' she tweeted earlier this month.

A post shared by GOOD AMERICAN (@goodamerican) on

Good American responded by posting a series of 'inspiration' posts to Instagram, in an attempt to show where the inspo for their designs came from.

Khloe has also hit back against the claims by hiring her own lawyer, Marty Singer.

'In order for your client Destiney Bleu to get her 15 minutes of fame, you and your client outrageously defamed Good American and Mr. Kardashian by falsely stating that my clients stole or copied your client’s bodysuit designs,'  reportedly said Singer, in a letter to Bleu obtained by PEOPLE.

'Your client has also brazenly misappropriated Ms. Kardashian’s name and photograph — including photographs she has taken from Mr. Kardashian’s Instagram account without authorization which your client freely admits as generated ‘a ton of sales.'

The case is still unfolding.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the Grenfell Tower blaze, which has so far claimed the lives of 17 residents, with many more still missing.

The probe will seek out the cause of the fire, though a police spokesperson said that there is so far no evidence that a crime has been committed.

The investigation could lead to criminal charges for anyone responsible for building code violations in the structure of the tower.

'We as the police have started an investigation, I mentioned when I was down at the scene this morning that one of our very senior investigating officers is leading that for us,' Metropolitan Police commander Stuart Cundy told The Independant.

'I am not sitting here and saying there are criminal offences that have been committed, that's why you do an investigation, to establish it,' he continued.

'This will need to be a lot of work between us and other investigating agencies to establish what has happened and why and that is going to take a considerable period of time.'

There are reports that fears are growing that the death toll may reach 100 people, as emergency workers search tirelessly through the building.

'We have to get to the bottom of this,' said Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

'The truth has got to come out and it will.'
