Like the rest of the country, we love a good G&T.

So when we heard that one of our favourite Galway pubs had been awarded the Great Irish Beverages award for the Best Irish G&T, we were pretty excited.

Galway haunt An Pucan has scooped the prize, following on from their success last year when they won the Connacht Cocktail Bar of the Year award.

A post shared by An Pucan (@anpucan) on

The Galway institution beat out 227 other entrants to win the esteemed prize.

So what makes their gin and tonic so special?

The refreshing drink has a unique twist compared to other G&Ts.

As well as containing Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin and Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water, an already winning combination, the drink is finished with fresh chilli and mango cubes.

A post shared by An Pucan (@anpucan) on

The now award-winning drink costs €9.00, and we're ready to splurge.

'Delighted to have won the best Gin and Tonic mix in Ireland in the Great Irish Beverage Award with our drink from @thesheddistillery massive congrats to them team and massive thanks to all you for voting,' reads a caption on the An Pucan Instagram page.

As if a trip to Galway wasn't already a good idea…

The World Health Organization is warning against the spread of a strain of gonorrhoea

At least three people worldwide are infected with the untreatable superbug strain.

The disease is spreading thorough unprotected sex, WHO said.

'Gonorrhea is a very smart bug,' said Teodora Wi, a human reproduction specialist.

'Every time you introduce a new type of antibiotic to treat it, this bug develops resistance to it.'

No known antibiotic is effective on the particular strain of the STI.

The three cases were found in Japan, France and Spain.

The number of sexually transmitted infections grew by 10 per cent in 2016 in Ireland, according to the HSE’s Health Protection Surveillance Centre, and gonorrhoea saw one one the biggest spikes.

Ed Sheeran clearly heard our complaints about the impossibility of getting tickets on his last tour, and this time around decided to play seven gigs on the Emerald Isle.

While he way have way more concerts en route, people are clearly still worried that they won't secure tickets.

In Cork, people have began queuing on Thursday evening in the hopes of securing tickets when they go on sale on Saturday morning.

The committed Sheerios have been camping out on deck chairs for the coveted tickets.

By the time the tickets go on sale, they will have been waiting well over 48 hours for them.

One man told The Independent that he has been queuing since Wednesday to secure tickets for his beloved niece.

With tickets for all seven gigs going on sale at the same time, we're thinking the avid queue folk are trying to avoid the possibility of crashing websites and endless virtual waits.

We have to commend their commitment to Ed.

When it comes to gifts, you generally can't go wrong with concert tickets. right?

Well, that tends to be the case…unless the tickets you're splashing out on are for any of Ed Sheeran's upcoming dates in Ireland, that is.

You see, due to Ed's strict stance on ticket touting, the singer and his team have implemented a rule which states that the person who purchased the tickets must be in attendance on the specified date too.

In order to gain entrance to the concert, the ticketholder will need to provide booking confirmation of the tickets, the credit card on which they were purchased in addition to a valid form of ID.

In order to avoid any confusion or disappointment on this front, Ticketmaster have provided the public with eight rules.

1. The name on the card used to purchase tickets will be the name printed on the tickets.

2. The person whose card is used to book the tickets (lead booker) must be in attendance on the night of the show.

3. The lead booker must bring ID and card used to book in order for them and the rest of their party to gain entry.

4. All members of one party must enter as a group. Failure to do so will result in some party members not being admitted.

5. Tickets cannot be purchased as a gift.

6. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and online at Ticketmaster.ie.  Tickets can be purchased with cash at an outlet or credit/debit card. If purchasing at an outlet you will be required to present ID. Please ensure the name on your ticket corresponds with your ID. You must retain your receipt in order to gain entry.

7. Tickets limited to 4 per purchase.

8. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult 18+. This applies for both standing and seating. Parents/guardians intending to bring young children are advised to purchase seating tickets.

And in case you're still interested, tickets go on sale July 8 at 9am.

According to emerging reports, the body of a woman in her twenties was recovered from the sea at the Cliffs of Moher earlier this afternoon.

It has been established that members of the public hiking in the area happened upon a stray rucksack before spotting a body in the water below the popular trail.

After being alerted by those at the scene, Coast Guard volunteers launched a boat from their Doolin base while a land team made its way to the cliff top.

Documentation found inside the rucksack have helped Gardai identify the deceased, with reports confirming she is a non-Irish national.

The body of the woman was recovered from the sea and transferred to the base at Doolin before being removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will be carried out this evening.

Authorities are currently attempting to make contact with the late woman's family.

If you haven't scrolled past at least one 'before and after' shot on Instagram today, were you even on Instagram?

The social media site is a veritable haven for anyone who wants to document the changes their body has undergone as a result of mixture of regular exercise and clean-eating.

While they may be filtered AF, we tend to take these photographs at face value, and assume the person has genuinely undergone a serious transformation, but one woman who is keen to remind us that this might not always be the case is Millie Smith.

You can't airbrush away insecurity. You can't get self love from an app. You can't hide self hate under a edited selfie. There was a time when I wouldn't dream of posting a photo of myself online without at LEAST a heavy filter. 〰 The real me wasn't: Worthy enough Pretty enough Special enough. Beautiful enough. I got comments of 'woahhh beautiful babe' and all the rest which gave me brief moments of confidence;slowly turning into deep, low self loathing… 〰 All editing/filtering my selfies did was make me feel more ashamed of my natural face, more engrained into beauty ideals and basing my self worth on how I look;making me hate myself further. 〰 I wish I knew then the real me is: Worthy Beautiful special unique always photo ready. Do you truly know what the real you looks like? When was the last time you studied/appreciated your face? WE ARE ALL BLOODY BEAUTIFUL AS WE ARE . . Inspired by my squid @selfloveliv

A post shared by Milly Smith (@selfloveclubb) on

The body-positive Instagrammer decided to highlight just how simple it is to fool followers into thinking you have altered the shape and size of your body.

Uploading a splitscreen shot of herself taken moments apart, Millie reveals how a pose and clever clothing can massively alter your appearance.

Same girl, same day, same time. 〰 With a camera angle and clothing I can change my body into something that society would deem more acceptable than the photo on the right. 〰 Recently insta was voted as the most damaging app to body image/self esteem. That's not ok. 〰 The media constantly wants us to be more filtered, more posed, more flexed. Making us ashamed, afraid and resentful of our bodies, our natural vessel. 〰 We compare ourselves to these images of posed, strategically taken photos. Comparing yourself is a thief of your joy/self love and even more so when you're comparing aesthetics to images that aren't reality. 〰 Both these photos are beautiful . Both these photos are worthy. However only one of these photos is truly me, comfortable and naturally loving myself… 〰 Get rid of accounts that make you feel negative, get rid of people in your life that don't make you feel happy, loved and beautiful. Don't let an all ruin your life.

"Same girl, same day, same time," she began in the post which has racked up almost 10,000 likes since its upload.

"With a camera angle and clothing I can change my body into something that society would deem more acceptable than the photo on the right."

Focussing on the influence the media has on our understanding of self-worth, she continued: "The media constantly wants us to be more filtered, more posed, more flexed.  Making us ashamed, afraid and resentful of our bodies, our natural vessel."

Tapping into something most Instagram users will relate to, she continued: "We compare ourselves to these images of posed, strategically taken photos."

"Comparing yourself is a thief of your joy/self love and even more so when you're comparing aesthetics to images that aren't reality."

Using the splitscreen shot to highlight the disparity between the real us and the us we post online, Millie finishd by saying: "Both these photos are beautiful@

"Both these photos are worthy. However only one of these photos is truly me, comfortable and naturally loving myself."

Millie, you do you.

A firm favourite among pizza and pasta-lovers the length and breadth of Ireland, Milano has been one of our staple eateries for years now.

From family gathering to first dates, there’s a comfort in the familiar, but the ever-evolving chain knows that along with providing the much-loved reliables, there’s always scope for the introduction of delicious new eats.

And that’s where their new range of vegan dishes comes in.

Vegan and dairy-free guests can now enjoy pizzas their way across the menu (suitable ingredients allowing), with the addition of a vegan mozzarella option.

The creamy mozzarella alternative – made from sprouting brown rice – can be requested by diners on all core menu dishes where the cheese is available.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Diners will be delighted to discover that in addition to the enduringly popular Pianta, another vegan-friendly pizza will be available on the Specials menu in the form of the Vegan Giardiniera – an adaptation of a classic Milano dish of the same name.

The restaurant hasn’t limited their vegan options to the main menu either, as their wine list has just undergone its own vegan twist!

You guys can wash down your delicious dish with a vegan-friendly Organic Verdicchio white wine; and finish with a dairy-free Coconut Delight sorbet dessert!

They've literally thought of everything.

Okay, we all remember the blue and black/gold and white dress that divided a nation.

Well now a new item of clothing is here to baffle our minds and ensnare our senses with confusion.

This image of some Nike running gear is going viral, as social media users argue about what colours the kit is.

People are divided between seeing pink and white and turquoise and grey.

Currently we're seeing turquoise and grey, but rumour has it that the longer you look at the image, the more it changes colour.

We're completely baffled by this internet mind trick, but what do you guys think?
