Dawn Foster is a well known professional journalist, who creates content about politics, social affairs and economics for The Guardian.

She is also a published author, and although she has numerous professional accolades under her belt, one thing is clearly very distracting about her outward appearance.

It's her nails.

Well, at least according to the unsolicited opinion of one male viewer.

The journalist received a piece of modern-day hate mail from an unnamed man, who pointed out that her well taken care of nails were an undermining element of her appearance.

Because your nails speak volumes about you level of professionalism…right?

Dawn took to Twitter to share the lengthy email.

According to the writer of the hate mail, Dawn's manicure speaks volumes about her as a person, and is in complete juxtaposition to her political views.

Yes people, we have reached peak 'men policing women's appearances' with this one.

The viewer accused her nails of being distracting, and insinuated that taking care of your appearance doesn't match up to left-wing views.

If we could just put a row of question marks here, we would.

'It is clear to me and many other viewers that you are the type of woman who indulges in excessive nail care,' reads the complaint.

'For all your claims to be "left wing"  and in favour of workers rights, why I ask have you not considered the rights of the nail bars you frequent?'

'How does this square with your childish left wind world view, hmmmm?'

The ridiculous, reaching complaint is gaining attention on social media, and other woman are sharing ways in which they have been shamed for their appearance at work.

One woman described being given out to for wearing large earrings, which apparently meant she wasn't a 'serious person,' while another woman was berated for her natural curly hair.

Another was shamed for wearing no makeup at all, so it seems that when it comes to expressing (or not expressing) typically feminine beauty ideals, there is no way of winning.

We'll be rocking our French manicures, stiletto nails, bare nails, bitten nails, glitter nails or rainbow-painted digits in style, regardless of anyones' random, unsolicited opinion of what that symbolises in us as women.

We've all been there. Saturday night, not a word from anyone all day, when all of a sudden your phone lights up.

You immediately start planning your outfit and gearing up for the night ahead – but oh wait, it's just Domino's Pizza again.

Is there anything anything more disappointing?

Well, one Cork lad has decided that enough is enough, and although he loves Domino's deeply, the constant texts have got to stop.

Seán Fogarty took to his local branch's Facebook page to let them down easy.

“Look. What had was incredible that night  but i cant see you anymore (sic). I want you to know i love and respect you but im seeing someone else now,” he wrote.

And the plot thickens.

“I know i said don't worry about them but i have to be honest now. Im seeing Apache Pizza Ballyvolane. They make me feel special. But what we had was special too and ill cherish it always. <3 its not you, its me, and my wallet.”

But, determined to be the bigger person, Domino's waited until emotions had settled before dishing out the most brilliant response.

“Dearest Seán. It has taken me a while to write back, because I just couldn't bring myself to reach out to you again, knowing you would only break my heart even further. But I can stay silent no more,” they began.

“The time we shared… it really was special. I had no idea you were seeing someone else… that you had a bit on the side. I'll admit… it hurt. A lot. Especially hearing who you were cheating on me with.

“Do they give you as many toppings as I did? Do they knead your dough as long and as lovingly as I did? Do they taste as good as I do?”

“On second thought, forget I asked. I don't want to know. It would hurt me too much to hear the answers.

“I'll admit, I was tempted to beg you to take me back. Surely once you saw how much I needed you you would rethink things. But no. I won't beg. I will respect your decision and try to move on with my life.

“Hopefully someday I will find someone who held me like you did, who enjoyed me as much as you did. Someone who loves me for who I am – a steaming hot dish, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, cheesy af, sometimes spicy, sometimes not, who wants nothing more than to be loved and touched and devoured intensely.

“I believe that person does exist, and they will love me more than you ever did”.

But of course, like all great break-ups, Domino's finished with a little dig:

“Best of luck with your bit on the side – and don't be calling me at 2am when you get sick of her or when she disappoints you, because I'll probably be busy with someone else. #MovingOn #PepperoniPassion#BreakUpsAreHard”

You'll bounce back Domions – we got you!

Ireland's film and television industry has received a major boost this weekend after it emerged that two Irish films have automatically qualified for Oscar nominations following wins at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Now in its 29th year, the Galway Film Fleadh is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards and after scooping prizes for Best Animation and Best Short Drama, An Island and Wave are one step closer to the coveted gold statue.

An Island, is an animated film about a solitary man who makes it his mission to conquer an isolated island, while Wave tells the story of a man who wakes from a coma with the ability to speak a fully-formed but unrecognisable language.

When it come to short film and animations, Irish production companies have a strong track record at the Oscars.

There were nominations for The Secret of Kells in 2010 and Song of The Sea in 2015, as well as a win for Benjamin Cleary's short film, Stutterer in 2016.

Here's hoping the films get a chance to compete for the top prize.

Earlier this week, Splash News posted a series of photos showing people moving things out of Taylor Swift's apartment along with a rather curious caption:

"Is Taylor Swift being transported in a huge suitcase from her Tribeca apartment??"

Em?

The statement read:

"Taylor Swift has been reportedly being transported in a huge suitcase from her Tribecca apartment into her truck. A fleet of cars including two large cadillacs and three suv's arrive at Tailor Swift's apartment in Tribecca to move a large suitcase from apartment to truck.”

“Almost a dozen of Taylor Swift security guards were present to move this package carefully as Taylor Swift remains to be unseen for a long time."

Now, we don't know about you, but to us, the whole thing screams fake news.

And it certainly was.

In a statement to Spin, a Splash News representative explained how the photographer was "not really a regular photographer that we use" and that, "The report stated it as a fact, which we actually don’t know. How could we?"

Now, we're not saying it's not possible – after all, Adele has reportedly admitted to being transported via a large box before, but seeing as we have literally no proof, Splash News heard word from Taylor's camp, and is retracting the photo.

After his cameo appearance on the new season of Game of Thrones, Ed Sheeran is clearly not shy when it comes to TV.

The singing star is reported to be stepping into another role on a beloved TV show, but this time of the animated variety.

Ed has taken to Instagram to confirm rumours that he will be appearing in a special episode of The Simpsons.

The star will be playing Lisa Simpson's love interest, a slightly older musician called Brendan.

The role will dominate a special singing episode of the show in the 29th season titled Haw Haw Land, a joke version of La La Land.

Ed has always been a big fan of the show, so producers jumped at the chance to have him voice a part.

'We had a perfect part for him,' executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly.

'So we said, "Oh, great, we’ll have him do this!" And we recorded him over the phone from England.'

We're so exciting for this upcoming episode!

Knocking it out of the park, the Dublin sisters soon went viral, and now they're back with an even more impressive medley of hits.

Going down the 90s R&B route this time around, Megan and Sally-Anne sing No Diggity, Doo Wop (That Thing) No Scrubs and Waterfalls, and frankly, we're still reeling.
