Despite Katy Perry stating that she wouldn't be throwing any shade at Taylor Swift with her new album, her newest song doesn't quite seem that way.

'I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person,' she said, when asked if she would be clapping back at Taylor Swift's song Bad Blood.

'One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.'

Today, Katy dropped her brand new track Swish Swish, and fans are speculating that it reads like a diary of events that occurred during Katy and Taylor's well-documented beef.

With sly digs like 'you’re about as cute as an old coupon, expired,' and a perceived mention of Taylor and Kim Kardashin's melodramatic moment where Kim exposed Taylor and started the now infamous snake emoji trend against her ('karma’s not a liar, she keeps receipts') it kind of looks like the singer is aiming this song at the country-turned-pop star.

Katy even teamed up with Nicki Minaj on the track, who also has also had a very public argument with Taylor Swift.

Taylor has yet to respond to speculation that the song is about her.

You can give the song a listen and see what you think below:

This week, yet another instance of mindless body policing occurred which left the mind baffled by the sheer nonsense that is fatphobia.

A recent phenomena that has been sweeping the internet this week is the concept of 'romphims,' a male version of a playsuit.

Commenting on the development, one Twitter user decided to say that people weighing over 170lbs, or 12 stone, should not be wearing playsuits.

Last we checked, style didn't have a weight limit, so the attempted trolling obviously caused a little bit of controversy on the social media site.

The troll did have a few who agreed with him, but most of the viral Twitter thread is now filled with snaps of gorgeous people donning playsuits with pride, weighing 170lbs or more.

Most posts are accompanied by captions like 'lol no' and 'you were saying?,' with responses supporting their choice to wear whatever they want.

The original troll eventually relented, saying that he had been originally talking about male rompers and that it was a joke, but it was too little, too late.

While the post may have originally been a joke, it does serve as a reminder that larger people are often encouraged not to participate in fashion, be it through made-up rules dictating what they can or can't wear, or through the limited availability of achingly on-trend plus size fashion options.

While the plus size style industry has improved greatly over the past few years, these little Twitter posts continue to shame plus size women into feeling like they cannot wear what they want for fear of being judged.

So despite this all starting out as a joke, each snap of a confident, comfortable and stylish woman in a playsuit despite being 'over 170lbs' is a mini victory for the concept of body positivity.

Want to celebrate the second anniversary of Ireland saying YES to marriage equality?

There are plenty of ways to celebrate the fact that two years ago, Ireland finally got its act together and legalised gay marriage.

One way to do it in style is by attending this epic-sounding rooftop party, which judging by the description is set to be completely lit.

Hosted in Temple Bar, the Spinster Yes Equality Roof Party is kicking off on Saturday night, with Lady J playing the best tunes under the stars.

With deals that include three particular drinks for €10.00, even a far away pay day is no excuse.

Another amazing aspect of the event is that all profits from the night will be going to the Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment.

Celebrating our rights to love whoever we want while supporting women's rights to body autonomy sound pretty good to us.

Our one saving grace after a heavy night on the sesh is being able to tell ourselves that the carry-on we exhibited the night before has absolutely no connection to the person we are the following morning.

But if blaming questionable behaviour on 'drunk you' is your go-to response, findings from a study conducted by researchers at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health may leave you feeling a little cold this afternoon.

According to those in the know, alcohol doesn't impact that heavily on an individual's personality.

While we have home footage which seriously begs to differ, findings, which were published in the journal of Clinical Psychological Science, have concluded that the individual will identify internal changes to their personalities when intoxicated which aren't actually evident to an observer.

So, how did they go about studying this theory?

Researchers surveyed 156 people, and focussed their attention on alcohol consumption as well as the participants' perception of their own typical sober and drunk personalities.

15 minutes after giving half the group a soft drink and the other half vodka, which brought their blood alcohol level to .09, researchers then provided both groups with a range of activities which involved social interaction.

Following this, outside observers and those who had consumed alcohol were asked to watch footage of the exchanges  in order to identify shifts in personality, and interestingly, the supposed changes were barely recognisable.

The study suggests that the intoxicated person believes their personality to be different following the consumption of alcohol when the changes are actually only very minor

"The participants experienced internal changes that were real to them but imperceptible to observers," asserted the study’s lead scientist Rachel Winograd

Far be it from us to question science, but 15 minutes? We imagine the findings would be very different after a good two hours on the lash.

Joyce Bonelli has made a name for herself by painting the faces of the Kardashians, Chrissy Teigen and Emily Ratajowski.

Now, the all-star MUA is launching hr own line of beauty products, and while she may be famous for her Instagram makeup looks, there will be no faddy trend pieces in Joyce's line.

The collection will be focusing on the 'ritual of beauty for a woman.'

'It’s to bring out each person’s natural beauty and accentuate that,' she told The Cut.

'It’s the best of the best. I’m not selling a thousand different things, it’s just a few things that I love.'

'I’m excited. It’s really perfect.'

The MUA also told the mag that she is totally over the concept of Instagram makeup, and that the era of piling on a heavy contour and lashings of makeup should be behind us.

It’s always the same thing and it’s a shit ton of makeup,' she said.

The collection could be on the way as soon as this autumn, and there have already been confirmations of a brow gel, though the rest of the line is still under wraps.

We are encouraged to practise mindfulness on a daily basis, right?

And while many of us understand it to be an approach which can impact positively on our mental health, recent studies have suggested that mindfulness can actually impact on our waistline too.

Researchers at the University of North Carolina have established that by focusing on each mouthful of food consumed, the individual increases their likelihood of losing weight.

Dividing 80 participants into two groups, researchers encouraged the first to practice mindful eating which required each individual to pay attention to feelings of hunger, avoid distractions and savour tastes, while the second group were not required to do any of this

Without restricting calories or following a nutrition plan, the first group lost 4 lbs over the course of 15 weeks while the second group lost 0.6 lbs.

Explaining the basis of the study, Dr Carolyn Dunn said:"Mindfulness is paying attention to your surroundings, being in the present moment."

"Mindful eating is eating with purpose, eating on purpose, eating with awareness, eating without distraction, when eating only eating, not watching television or playing computer games or having any other distractions, and not eating at our desks," she continued.

Commenting on the findings of the study, she asserted:"People did increase their mindfulness and they did absolutely decrease their weight”.

Sounds like we might need to start 'losing' the remote around dinner time, right?

Here at SHEmazing, there's little we admire more than people who make a name for themselves in the industry they're truly passionate about.

Constantly invigorated and galvanised by entrepreneurial, innovative and trailblazing women around the country, we knew we needed to honour those who have made an impact in their chosen field at the inaugural SHEmazing HP Awards this month.

And when it comes to trailblazers in this country, they don't come much bigger or brighter than director of Inglot Ireland, Jane Swarbrigg.

So, it's no real surprise that the innovative businesswoman took home our Trailblazer of the Year Award at this month's ceremony in the Mansion House which attended by some of the country's leading entreprenuers.

The Westmeath woman's contribution to the world of beauty and cosmetics cannot be overestimated, and having launched her first store alongside her mother and brother ten years ago, Jane is now director of nine stores nationwide.

Working her way up the career ladder, Jane showed determination and vision, and after completing a PR and event management course, she worked as a visual merchandiser before opening her first Inglot store in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in 2007.

"It’s been as much an incredible journey of personal growth, as well as success in business," Jane recently said when reflecting on the last decade.

And as for her big win?

"I honestly couldn’t believe it! I was up against some incredible women like Pippa O'Connor and Marissa Carter, both of whom I have always looked up to."

"While I have the chance, I want to thank all the #inglotaddicts who voted for me – the Inglot army was out in force on this one," Jane added.

Congratulations, Jane!

Veganism may seem like a bit of a fad, enjoyed by tanned travel Instagrammers who never seem to have a problem picking a raw coconut over a slice of pepperoni pizza.

There has been quite a lot of debate over the lifestyle choice, with some feeling it truly is the best way to nourish your body, and others feeling that cutting out so many aspects of the food pyramid isn't right.

Now, a new study has shown that people who eat a plant-based diet end up slimmer than those who prefer a diet heavy in meat, eggs, dairy and animal fats.

Those who consume lots of fruit and vegetables, grains, pulses, olive oil and who enjoy potatoes (in all their glorious forms) have a significantly lower chance of becoming obese in the long run, which kind of proves what we've all known for eternity, that fruits and veggies are some of the healthiest foods out there.

The study, presented at the European Congress on Obesity, examined the nutritional data of 16,181 people who were not obese at the start of the research.

The subjects were tested on their diets, and those with diets where animal by-products were consumed were more likely to become obese than those who maintained the plant-based diet over 10 years.

'Our study suggests that plant-based diets are associated with substantially lower risk of developing obesity,' said Professor Maira Bes-Rastrollo, from the University of Navarra in Spain, who presented the study.

'This supports current recommendations to shift to diets rich in plant foods, with lower intake of animal foods.'

However, the chairman of the National Obesity Forum Tam Fry did not condone removing all forms of animal by-products from the diet.

'Clearly you shouldn't cut out unprocessed food such as fresh meat, diary or fish entirely but, as the research student suggests, keep them in check.'

'Our ancestors found cabbage and cauliflower much easier to catch than cows, and thrived on the diet.'
