Now, here's an odd celeb pairing.

Mullingar man Niall Horan has his fair share of celebrity pals – he's hung out with everyone from Selena Gomez to Ariana Grande over the last few months.

But one celebrity we'd never have paired the One Direction star with is writer and actress Lena Dunham, the mastermind behind HBO's Girls.

Turns out we were missing a trick though, as the two have indeed been having the chats on social media. Well, they've had one exchange at least.

Things kicked off when Niall tweeted the official Girls account on Monday to pass on his praise for the "absolutely hilarious" show:

And while Niall seems to be a big fan of Lena's work, we're not sure the feeling is mutual, as her response was definitely a dig at 1D's lyrics.

Posting a screenshot of the tweet to her Instagram, Lena ripped off the lyrics to Perfect, adding in a few key Girls references.

"But if you like having panic attacks up in hotel rooms / And if you like a lot of complex fear stuff around men and sex," she wrote.

"If you like to do the things you’re too ashamed to admit to anyone but your therapist / Then baby, I’m perfect."

Oh, and the best part? She doesn't even follow him on Twitter, at least not if her screenshot is telling the truth:

Hmmm… wonder if this is Lena's revenge for Harry Styles' d*ckhead treatment to her bestie Taylor Swift?

Either way, there's no reply from Niall as yet. Hopefully he saw the funny side…

Vienetta might be pretty old school, but it has such a lovely touch of retro glamour that it's one dessert we can't bear to say goodbye to.

Waves of vanilla or mint ice-cream with thin layers of chocolate in between – does it get any better than that? Well yes, because Romantica, but aside from that we're all about the V.

And this video, filmed on the Vienetta production line , is just so strangely mesmerising that we reckon we could watch it on repeat all day.

First, a layer of melted chocolate is painted over sheets of ice-cream…

Then more ice-cream is added in waves. The waves. LOOK AT THE WAVES.

Plus the obligatory top layer of ice-cream…

And a delicate spray of chocolate *faints*

Then finally, the Massive Vienetta is sliced into lots of Regular Vienettas.

Watch the full video here. Be warned though, it's addictive, and you'll most likely want a large slice of Vienetta afterwards.

A young woman from Co Kildare is setting off on a 383.7 mile cycle from her mum’s hometown to London to her resting place in Moone, as part of a fundraising mission.

Amie Merlehan’s mum Toni died a year ago from rare illness Peripheral Vascular Disease, which affects the heart’s arteries.

Brave Toni underwent a whopping 48 surgeries in her battle to fight the illness, and according to her daughter, almost all operations were carried out by Mr. David Nott, who she considers a “legend”.

“We are doing the cycle to recognise all those battling Peripheral Vascular Disease and honour all those lost, including my inspirational mother,” Amie told KildareNow.

“All money raised will go to my mother’s surgeon Mr. David Nott whom volunteers six months a year of his own time to travel to war-torn countries like Syria and spends the rest of his time working in the UK and teaching vascular surgery."

“For me, he is the man who saved my mother life multiple times, got her through 48 surgeries, never gave up on her and still had the time to reassure me and worry about how I was doing.”

And during the trip, as a tribute to her mum, Amie and her travelling companion will tick off items on her mum’s bucket list, like archery and clay pigeon shooting.

If you would like to donate to Amie’s fund you can visit her JustGiving crowdfunding page HERE.

You have our admiration Amie, and we wish you safe travels.

Please SHARE spread the word of Amie’s fantastic campaign.

Thousands of Northern Irish fans have been left disappointed today with the news that Little Mix have cancelled both of their Belfast shows.

A rep for the band confirmed the news this afternoon, just minutes before the foursome were due to begin a 2pm matinée show at Belfast's SSE Arena.

The second gig, at 8pm tonight, has also been called off.

According to the band's statement, the group were unable to perform after Jesy Nelson fell ill, but the show's will be rescheduled for a later date.

Unsurprisingly, there has been quite a bit of backlash over on Twitter:

Here's hoping no more dates will be affected.

Things seem to be on the rocks in a big way (yet again) for Charlotte Crosby and her man, at least if her latest tweets are anything to go by.

The Geordie Shore star took to social media today to blast her on-off boyfriend Gary Beadle, after spotting some controversial pictures of him in a nightclub flirting with another woman, law student Vicky Marriott.

While Charlotte's remained quiet about her beef until now, Gary's vehement denials on Snapchat this weekend that he had tried it on with Vicky – despite reportedly being pictured with his hand on her bum – seem to have rubbed Charlotte up the wrong way.

And to make matters even worse, it seems Gary is returning to Ex On The Beach… or at least that's what he wants her to think.

Bad decision, Gaz…

The model added that she had turned to Gaz's bestie Aaron Chalmers for comfort.

In short, these two seem to be OFF in a big way, unless Gary changes his ways ASAP.

It's been a few weeks now, but Kim Kardashian is still determined to get her own back on those who criticised her for THAT topless selfie.

The KUWTK star posted the (now oft-parodied) 'I have nothing to wear LOL' photo at the beginning of March, to a chorus of mixed responses from celebs and fans alike.

One star who remained very firmly on Kim's side was model and actress Emily Ratajkowski, who soon posted her own topless selfie in response – and even received a thank-you note from Kim for doing so.

Now, the pair have teamed up for yet another risqué selfie shoot, which Emily described last night as proof of the freedom they have as women to "to choose when and how we express our sexuality."

Both Kim and Emily posted the photo, which shows them standing topless in a bathroom while pointing their middle fingers, to their social media accounts last night.

And while Kim chose to re-use her old caption with a slight tweak ("When we're like…we both have nothing to wear LOL"), Emily used to opportunity to get her point across.

"We are more than just our bodies, but that doesn't mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality.#liberated," she wrote.

"Even if being sexualized by society's gaze is demeaning, there must be a space where women can still be sexual when they choose to be."

The humble chicken fillet is something of a college diet staple, and has saved us from too many hangovers to count.

But after watching RTÉ's What Are You Eating last night, we might skip the hot deli next time we're looking for a quick lunch – and it seems we're not the only ones.

The new series, which kicked off last week, aims to lift the lid on processed and convenience foods, many of which are considered healthy by Irish eaters, but are in fact packed with calories, fat, salt and additives.

And for presenter Philip Boucher-Hayes and chef Hilary O'Hagan, the first meal up on the chopping block was, you've guessed it, the chicken fillet roll. Irish people consume around 45,000 chickens every TWO and a half hours, making us one of the top consumers of poultry in Europe.

It was this clip, in which Hilary explained that virtually all the "good" meat (breast, leg etc) is removed from a chicken carcass before the remainder is blended and crushed up into a "chicken fillet," that really had people questioning their choice of lunch.

The chicken fillet connoisseurs of Twitter didn't take the bad news too well:

Things didn't get much nicer then, as Philip visited a chicken processing factory:

And then of course there were the cold hard facts – between roll and chicken alone, a chicken fillet roll comes in at over 1,000 calories and packs in 5g of salt, more than your RDA of 4g per day.

Up next week is milk and cheese, so we'd suggest having something other than a toastie and a milky cuppa on your plate while watching it…

Catch What Are You Eating next Wednesday March 6 on RTÉ One.

The screaming baby, the sweaty man who reefs his shoes off the second he sits down, the woman who spreads herself and her belongings over her seat AND yours… There are a whole variety of awful passengers you can meet on a plane.

But one traveller came face-to-face (or face-to-ponytail) with the creme de la creme of dire flying buddies recently, after sitting down in his seat to be presented with this:

Eh, oblivious much?!

"Congrats to the ponytailed young woman in seat 22B," wrote the unfortunate soul, a man named Dante Ramos.

"You've invented a whole new way to be awful at 35,000 feet."

After "marvelling for a bit at her obliviousness,"  Dante, a columnist with the Boston Globe, got the woman's attention and finally found himself with a view unobstructed by a stranger's ponytail.

For the record, this kind of madness happens on other forms of transport too, as evidenced by our Deputy Ed Paula's experience en route to Limerick last year:

Honestly, aren't people just the WORST?

If you're already getting the guilts about your post-payday shopping spree, we have just the solution – a super-stylish buy that'll allow you to donate to a very good cause.

As part of Ireland's Autism Awareness Month campaign, accessories brand Stella & Dot have pledged to donate all proceeds from Irish sales of their new Harmony Bracelet (€19) to charity.

The gorgeous bracelet perfectly complements Stella & Dot's original gold wishing bracelet, with the addition of rainbow pavé for a hint of coloured sparkle.

For each bracelet purchased in Ireland during the month of April, all net proceeds will be donated to Irish Autism Action, a young dynamic, innovative and passionate organisation bringing positive change into the lives of those affected by autism.

Stella & Dot Vice President Kathleen Mitchell says that Irish stylists for the brand are "extremely passionate" about giving back and are hoping to make a "big impact."

Every year in Ireland, some 276,000 people are impacted by an autism diagnosis – be it the person being diagnosed or their friends, family members and loved ones.

"We at Irish Autism Action believe that awareness is key to driving understanding and therefore understanding can transform lives," said the charity's CEO Kevin Whelan

Updating our jewellery collection while also helping a brilliant Irish charity? Sounds like a win-win to us.

The Harmony Bracelet can be bought at one of the 260 independent Stella & Dot stylists in Ireland or online here.

Irish Little Mix fans, we hope you've been keeping your eyes peeled over the last 24 hours, as the glam foursome have officially touched down in Dublin for the first of two shows at the 3Arena.

While Jesy and Jade seem to have been staying under the radar. Perrie and Leigh-Anne took some time out yesterday and today to enjoy Ireland's capital, starting off with a nice cuppa.

When in Rome and all that…

Of course, if you follow Perrie on Snapchat, you may have spotted her checking out some other Irish delicacies.

Like a brown bread ice-cream cone:

Or, for dinner, a big dirty plate of Chinese – maybe she was hungover?

The singer also hit Temple Bar, which for once looked pretty quiet:

And she even stopped to enjoy a few tunes from some buskers – in the form of Irish band Keywest.

Before hitting the hay, the singer tucked in to some cookies and milk courtesy of her hotel.

Not the worst way to end a day of sight-seeing.

There have been no updates from the girls today as yet, but with their gig kicking off in mere hours, fans won't have long to wait to see them in the flesh.
