We tend to assume that celebrities have always been rich and famous (they were born that way, right?).

But no, a few stars weren't always as glamorous as they are today. In fact, most of Hollywood's elite worked normal jobs, just like the rest of us, at some stage. 

Here, SHEmazing! rounds up our favourite 'before they were famous' gigs (and just wait until you see where Madonna worked…):

 

Brad Pitt

Brad worked in a fast food restaurant before he hit the big time. But it gets worse, he had to dance around in a chicken suit daily. Ouch.

 

Kim Kardashian

Before she shot to fame with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim used to clear out celebrities wardrobes and sell all of the unwanted clothes on eBay for her clients. She even worked as Paris Hilton's personal assistant for a while. 

 

Johnny Depp

Mr. Depp sold pens by phone as a living before he pursued his dreams of becoming an actor. 

 

Rod Stewart

Before he became a music legend, Rod Stewart worked as a grave digger. We're sure that was kind of scary!

 

Madonna

Queen Madge used to work at Dunkin' Donuts in New York's Time Square back in the day. She reportedly got fired for squirting jam all over a customer!

 

Gerard Butler

Before he became a movie hunk, Gerard had his heart set on becoming a lawyer. We think we prefer him acting though!

 

Sandra Bullock

Before winning Oscars and floating around in on-screen space, Sandra worked as a waitress and bartender in New York in the 1980s.

 

Jon Bon Jovi

The rocker used to help his cousin in a school where he was a janitor. While he worked he recorded his music which eventually led to his stardom. 

 

Rachel McAdams

Rachel used to work in McDonalds before she became a hot shot actress. The beauty stuck three whole years working there before she quit. 

 

Harrison Ford

Before he became Mr Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford worked as a carpenter in LA. 

 

Jennifer Aniston

The Friends beauty used to work as a telemarketer during the day and a waitress at night to pay for acting classes. And we're so glad she did. 

 

Hugh Grant

Hugh studied art history before he shot to fame. He abandoned his doctorate degree so he could pursue his dreams of acting. Bold move, Hugh, bold move.

The folk of this isle love a good seisún… So it's no surprise that more than half of tourists visit Ireland because of our pubs.

Yes, it's been found that our heritage and culture are still the most popular reasons for people to travel to our beautiful green nation. 

A total of 57 percent of tourists surveyed recently said that culture and heritage were their main reason for visiting Ireland. Meanwhile, 54 percent said that the traditional Irish pub was the factor that most influenced their decision to come here. 

Three in five respondents said that the Irish themselves are the reason for coming over here in the first place (go us!), and a quarter said in the survey that 'friendly' was the word that came to mind when they thought about the nationality. 

The survey questioned a total of 500 tourists from the US, Canada, France, Germany and the UK and was carried out by Support Your Local – a campaign which aims to cut excise tax on alcohol.

Noreen O'Sullivan, a publican from Tipperary, said that the high excise duty on alcohol is damaging the industry. 

"As it stands, excise is around 31 percent on beer, 68 percent  on whiskey, and 64 percent on wine. These taxes are damaging our competitiveness and costing jobs," she said.

Bart Storan, who runs the Support Your Local campaign, said, "Our pubs and hospitality are renowned globally as part of the Irish character and experience. 

"In every city, town and village, pubs are part of the unique fabric of the community, supporting jobs, catalysing spending, and sharing our story around the world."

Reports are suggesting that international superstar Mariah Carey may be expecting a child with her boyfriend James Packer. 

Mariah has been dating the richest man in Australia for months but they only went public about their relationship in June of this year. 

The 45-year-old singer and Australian billionaire already have five children between them and it seems another one could be on the way. 

New Idea has reported that the couple are set to welcome a bundle of joy: "Mariah found out the baby news recently and they're overjoyed at the prospect of being parents" an insider told the publication. 

Mariah has twins with her former husband Nick Cannon whom she split from after their marriage broke down in 2014. 

James already has three children from his marriage with ex-wife Erica Baxter, which would put this baby fourth in line to James' multi-billion dollar casino empire. 

The couple were spotted on holiday together earlier this summer as they sailed around the Balearic Islands together on James's yacht. 

Mariah's four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe also joined the pair on their romantic holiday as they were spotted hanging out on the boat and playing on the beach with their mum.

This video has just brightened up our day as we think we may have come across the Internet's coolest dad. 

One California dad has shared a video in which he shows the toy his son chose in the toy store and it is going viral. 

In the video, Mikki Willis explains how his son was given two birthday presents which were exactly the same so they went to the return one and choose something else.

His son chose an Ariel from The Little Mermaid doll, and he couldn't be happier. “Now how do you think a dad feels when his son wants to get this?”

Mikki sends a strong message to other parents in the video, saying his sons can choose whatever life they want and that he promises to love and accept them no matter what. 

“Choose your expression, choose what you’re into, choose your sexuality, choose whatever,” Willis said.

Megan Fox is one of Hollywood’s big-hitters when it comes to big earnings… and it seems that she’ll have to cough up big too when it comes to marital breakdown.

On Friday, it was announced that the 29-year-old is set to divorce fellow actor 42-year-old Brian Austin Green; her husband of five years, the father of her two children, and the man she’s spent more than a decade with.

Mr Green has been working fairly steadily since the mid-Eighties, mainly on TV shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, CSI, Smallville, and Desperate Housewives. However, his roles have never come anywhere near those of Ms Fox – who has starred in the likes of Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

And a terrible car-crash seems to be the reason Brian will never be able to match her six- and seven-figure earnings.

Indeed, he has worked very little this year – an involuntary hiatus reportedly caused by a head-on collision he was involved in last December.

Brian, who was travelling in the car with Megan at the time, was hit by a drunk driver who was later arrested. The other car was moving at around 80km/h at the time, and the impact deployed the airbags in the Fox-Green vehicle.

And although Megan was unhurt in the incident, it did trigger a serious medical condition in Brian: vertigo – which affects balance.

Apparently Mr Green's vertigo is so bad he can't get out of bed, and can therefore no longer work.

All of which means: Megan will be looking at paying a generous monthly spousal allowance when the pair do divorce.

As an aside: we wonder what impact his condition has had on their marriage? The couple also has two sons too – a three-year-old and an 18-month-old – something which must only add to the pressure being put on their strained relationship.

Whatever the reasons behind their separation,  however, we reckon we’ll be seeing a lot more of the actress at the box-office from next year.

By now you have surely seen the pictures of Taylor Swift inviting her pals on stage as she travels around the globe with her 1989 world tour.

First we saw the likes of Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne joining her in front of the adoring crowd, but it seems she has even more besties then we could have ever imagined. 

This weekend saw Taylor introduce actor Matt LeBlanc and comedian Chris Rock during her performance in the Los Angeles Staples Center. 

They were also joined on stage by Sean O'Pry, a model who starred in Taylor's video for Blank Space. 

Ms Swift documented the moment on Instagram saying: "The #1 male model in the world, Sean O'Pry,And the #2 and #3 top male models, Chris Rock and Matt LeBlanc. Obviously."

The 25-year-old has been growing her 'squad' since she began touring in May and fans get treated to a surprise guest or two, at every concert. 

At Saturday's gig, Taylor also performed Doubt, and Family Affair with Mary J. Blige and was later joined on stage by Orange Is The New Black actress Uzo Aduba. 

Taylor said she was really moved by Uzo's talent: "I'm so blown away by the multi-talented Uzo Aduba and how she smashed White Horse tonight, and also by how incredibly down to earth and wonderfully kind she is."

Great news for any Home and Away fans, Braxton is set to make a return to the Australian television series in the coming months. 

The hottie was spotted on set in Summer Bay, but it is not yet confirmed how long he will be returning for. 

Steve Peacocke who plays Brax was supposedly killed off in a car crash in June but it seems his secret is going to be revealed. 

During an interview with The Sunday Telegraph the actor said: "It will be an interesting ­little twist. While Brax is in the Bay it will spice things up a bit, I think.

"I can't say anything about what is going to happen, but it is something the audience is going to love, which is part of why I thought it would be a nice book end. It is a cool story and it's going to pack a punch."

It seems the actor is more than happy to return to the show he has been working on since 2011 and he said the series helped launch his career. 

"The show has been so good to me in terms of launching my career, so it is just something I always wanted to do – if there was any way I could be a part of something in the future."

"It is a nice little surprise. It was a good story the producers put to me, so I thought it is a nice way to see everyone for a bit.

When Brax left the show, he was presumed dead by the population of the Bay, but his sister Billie was the only character who knew he actually had just decided to leave Summer Bay.

You probably include plenty of exercises in to your routine that target your arms, abs, legs and stomach; but did you know that you should also be doing moves that target your face?

Yep, that's right… there are exercises that will tone and tighten your face so that you can look fresh-faced and beautiful in no time. 

They are super easy to do and you don't have to spend a lot of time or money doing them either. 

Here's a look at the best moves:

Eyebrow raises

You can firm your forehead with eyebrow raises. All you have to do is press down just above your eyes, while also lifting your forehead. It might seem tricky at first but you will get used to it. Repeat the move ten times throughout the day and within a few weeks you will notice the difference. 

 

Cheek toning

This move is quite similar to the one above but it works with the muscles in your cheeks. Press down gently on your cheeks with your fingers, then raise the muscles in your cheeks at the same time. Repeat the move fifteen times. 

 

Neck toning

The neck is one of the first places to show your age and while it may look perfect now, you should include this exercise into your routine to stop your neck sagging in the future. All you have to do is sit down and tip your head back, close your eyes and relax. Pull your lower lip up over your upper lip, hold for a few seconds and then release. Repeat this move ten times during each set.

 

Chin blasting

Want to create tone and definition around your chin and jaw-line? Then this is the exercise for you. Sit with your head tilted back and your lips relaxed. Make an O-shape with your lips and hold for twenty seconds. And that's it! You can repeat this move several times during the day. 

 

Eye bags

Keep the area around your eyes toned and firm with this super easy move. All you need to do is press gently on your temples with a couple of fingers. Then rapidly open and close your eyes five times. Easy, right? That's all there is to it!

Puffy eyes are never something you want to wake up to… but we'd say the majority of people will be waking up with them on a Monday morning (and every early morning throughout the week too!).

But you don't have to suffer through the problem because there are a few great ways to banish those puffy eyes once and for all.

No more looking like a zombie as you catch the bus to work!

Chill two spoons and press on your eyes

This is easy and won't cost you anything. When you get up, pop a couple of cold spoons into the freezer. Let them chill for a couple of minutes then gently press on your eyes and the puffy areas for a minute or so. The cold  will reduce the puffiness in no time. 

 

Cotton and salt water

Hot water also works on puffy eyes when mixed with salt. The salt helps draw out the fluid that causes your eyes to swell. Combine a quarter of a teaspoon with two cups of warm water. Then soak the mixture in a cotton ball and press them on to your eyes. 

 

Tea bags

If you drink tea in the morning, don't toss out the tea bags! Save them for your puffy eyes. Lie down and press the tea bag to the puffy area. It will take about 15 minutes for the swelling to go down but it is an easy way to look fresh faced in the morning. 

 

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel is great for reducing swelling. Use a small dab of the aloe vera under both of your eyes; but use caution to not get gel into your eye socket. Ouch! The gel not only feels good but you will have gorgeous bright eyes in no time!

Rumour has swirled ever since Zayn Malik unexpectedly departed the band in the spring.

This evening, and despite notching up a huge hit in Drag Me Down – their first release as a foursome – it seems that One Direction will indeed go their separate ways in March of next year.

The decision was seemingly made during crunch talks in London last weekend.

However, The Sun, which is claiming an exclusive on the story, also says fans should not lose all hope: the guys intend on making more music together some time again in the future – albeit after they've pursued solo material and projects over the course of at least a year.

A source close to the boyband told the newspaper: "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband.

"They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 percent behind the decision."

The source added: "They fully intend to get back together at some time in the future."

Liam, Niall, Harry and Louis have several high-profile gigs lined up for the rest of the year – performances which they will honour. The band will furthermore regroup after Christmas to polish off their various contractual commitments.

The Sun also says that the 1D time-out has nothing to do with Mr Malik's departure. 

"This was the plan with or without Zayn," the insider revealed. "In fact, the band have been making amazing music and been incredibly happy without Zayn.

"Of course they would have preferred that he had stayed in the band, but they would have taken this extended hiatus even if he hadn’t left."

The band was formed on the UK version of The X Factor in 2010. Their debut studio album Up All Night was released in November 2011 and topped the charts in 16 countries.

Their forthcoming fifth album – from which Drag Me Down is taken – will be unveiled later this year, and it had been expected that One Direction would embark on an arena tour in 2016 to promote the release.

As part of their current On The Road Again tour, they play three live dates in Dublin in mid-October, before moving to Belfast on October 20.

It was the celebrity wedding of the summer: Boyzone star Ronan Keating married TV producer Storm Uechtritz in a glittering four-day celebration in Scotland.

And now the first snaps of their Big Day have emerged – with all eyes being on the 34-year-old bride's stunning dress.

The Aussie-native wore a bespoke Chantilly lace dress embroidered with silk and organza petals. Created by designer Steven Khalil, also an Australian, rather than being stark white the gown sports a soft, warm hue. 

With the likes of Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham, as well as Dannii Minogue and Brian McFadden all in attendance, the star-factor was always going to be high.

But even Storm herself was uncharacteristically mute when none-other than Ed Sheeran came on to perform during their reception. 

In an tell-all interview with HELLO! magazine, which exclusively covered the event, Ronan reveals: "Ed's a good friend and Thinking Out Loud is one of mine and Storm's songs.

"When we all caught up in New York City a couple of months ago, I sounded him out about doing it and he didn't hesitate. I was blown away. He is the most grounded, decent guy in the business and what a talent.

"Storm was speechless when Ed appeared. That doesn't happen often!"

Still, the new Mrs Keating had a surprise of her own for the groom: a customised Land Rover Defender which she presented to him immediately after they said their vows.

Ronan describes the car as "the best present ever".

"I've had a couple of them over the years," he states, "but nothing like this one. She has customised it exactly how I would have done it myself – she knows me so well."

Meanwhile, and away from the trappings of a high-profile celebrity wedding, this was very much a family affair – much like the couple's stag and hen dos. 

In fact, Ronan's son Jack, 16, was best man at the open-air ceremony, while daughters Missy, 14, and nine-year-old Ali were Maid Of Honour and flower girl respectively.

Even the family's pet pug, Aussie, got in on the action: she was ring-bearer and trotted along a petal-strewn aisle with the wedding rings tied around her neck.

"It was a perfect day. We always wanted the wedding party to be just us and the kids," Ronan, 38, also tells HELLO! "It's so special for me that Storm would want the girls to be by her side.

"I'm so proud and honoured. It means the world."

Ronan goes on to tell how he believes his late bandmate, Stephen Gately, who died in 2009, had a hand in ensuring they were basked in sunshine for the entire celebration.

"I know that my Mam, Steo and Storm's granddad had a hand in making sure the weather was perfect – the one thing that was out of our hands."
