Angelina Jolie was spotted cuddling up to a new man who called her “honey” and “my gal” and it wasn’t Brad.

However, before you get all ratty and annoyed, the man in question was her inspiration for her new film Unbroken.

Louis Zamperini was a member of the 1936 Olympic track team competing in Berlin and survived 47 days in shark-infested waters before being held prisoner of war by the Japanese.

Angie, who directed the flick, admits that she felt “such a huge responsibility to get it right, because[she] loves [Zamperini] so much, and because he’s helped me so much in my life.”

Talking to Tom Brokaw on TODAY, Angie said: “I imagine that for the last 10-something years, [Zamperini has] been sitting there having a coffee in the morning and wondering who’s going to make this movie and I’ve been sitting in my room laying there thinking, ‘What am I supposed to be doing with my life? I want do something important … I need some help. I need some guidance. Where is it?’ And it was right outside my window.”

In fact, Zamperini was her neighbour and could even see her home from his patio.

This is so funny. A blooper on BBC News has the whole world laughing as reporter Caroline Bilton shrinks to the ground. Or maybe the camera went up, we’re not sure.

Either way, it makes the news very entertaining.

If you’re not familiar with detox baths, then you’re probably wondering why you ever need to have one right? We’ll tell you why:

Detox baths get rid of excess fat and release bad toxins that build up in your body when you eat, exercise or sleep.

Unless you follow an extremely strict diet of eating grass with the goats, then chances are you’re taking in toxins.

This detox bath recipe will induce sweating that will get rid of all those bad toxins:

Ingredients:

  • 480g Epsom Salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger

Wrap fresh ginger in a coffee filter to prevent clogging the drain and then add ingredients to a warm bath.

Soak yourself in the bath for 20 – 30 minutes to maximize toxin release through sweating and mineral absorption.

After you finish your detox bath, you will feel refreshed and restored. Just remember to drink plenty of water to replenish fluids lost during detox.

We’re not sure about you but Jackass is not something that springs to mind when we think of the swanky Academy Awards!

However, thanks to talented make-up artist Stephen Prouty, Johnny Knoxville’s creation, Bad Grandpa, could bag them an Oscar.

Prouty is up for the Academy Award for Makeup and Hairstyling. He only had praise for Knoxville when talking about the work they did: “he’s completely covered with make-up and also has to introduce the narrative of the story in it. It was super-impressive.”

Have a look at the trailer to see the amazing transformation that will hopefully earn Prouty the much-deserved Academy Award.

Lorde has been seen hanging out with a string of famous faces recently, cementing her place in pop royalty.

It would seem it’s not just Taylor Swift who has taken the 17-year-old under her wing – she is also close with Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka and star of The Hunger Games Amandla Stenburg.

It’s only a matter of time before the Kardashians get her –  the horror!

Helen Flanagan has a gorgeous figure and we are relieved to find out she falls off the health bandwagon just like we do from time to time.

The model chose to take a light hearted and hilarious view of her indulgence, which we love.

It seems as if Helen finds her inspiration to lead a healthy lifestyle in a strange place – the movie Matilda!

Helen uploaded a picture to her Instagram account of herself enjoying a pizza with the funny hashtag #brucebogtrotter.

She later uploaded a picture of the famous cake eating scene from the movie with another hashtage reading #nobruce.

Whatever works for you Helen!

Pasta and tins of beans are some of the items you should always have in the cupboard and we’re about to add another must-have item to that list – Nutella.

Have some friends calling over and nothing particularly impressive to give them with tea? Have no fear – just make sure you have a jar of this chocolate heaven on hand.

Cheat’s cupcakes
Throw together a batch of fairy cakes (or buy a packet of buns) and spread some Nutella on top for two-second cupcakes.

Chocolate bread
Dip a few slices of bread in a whisked egg and fry on either side until golden brown. Spread with a layer of Nutella and top with some whipped cream if you’re feeling fancy. Toast will also work if you’re out of eggs (or too lazy to wash the frying pan).

Croissants
This one really will make you look amazing. Buy a pack of ready-to-cook croissants from the supermarket, unroll them, pop a spoonful of Nutella into the middle, re-roll, and bake. Serve them warm when your friends walk in the door and soak up the praise.

Hazelnut coffee
Put a spoonful of Nutella at the bottom of your cup and pour in the coffee. Stir, add some cream and enjoy.

S’mores
First of all, spread two Rich Tea biscuits with Nutella. Toast a marshmallow over the ring on your hob and place in between the biscuits for an indoor s’more.

Cooking steak can be daunting – everybody has their own personal preferences.

This handy guide will give you some important tips on cooking the perfect steak.

1. Picking your steak
Get your steak in the butchers if you can, or the butchers in your local supermarket can also be a great place.

Next you need to choose your cut.

  • Striploin – a popular choice of steak with a layer of fat surrounding it for added flavour
  • Fillet – a luxury cut, the fillet has little or no fat and is generally thicker meaning it may need more cooking time
  • Rib-Eye – marbled with fat this cut is popular as it has lots of flavour
  • T-Bone – as this cut is on the bone it is considered tastier

2. Bring steak to room temperature before cooking

3. Right before cooking, season the steak with salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

4. Heat some oil in a pan and get it very hot, to smoking point.

5. Choose how you would like your steak cooked and adjust your timer accordingly.

  • Blue : 1 min each side
  • Rare: 1 1/2 min each side
  • Medium-rare: 2 min each side
  • Medium: 2 1/4 min each side
  • Medium-well: 2 1/2 min each side
  • Well-done: 3 min each side

Cooking times depend on the thickness of your meat. The above guidelines are for a popular striploin steak of approx. 2cm so adjust accordingly.

6. Let the steak rest for about 5-6 mins after cooking.

If you can identify with any of these it means your best guy friend is more than likely head over heels for you.

We know it can be handy to have someone around, but let him go and the right person will come along for both of you.

Or else figure out if you could maybe like him too? He’s obviously good enough to spend a lot of time with!

1. You come home from a terrible date and call him to come over and watch Love Actually, he does.
It’s 3am on a Saturday – you are more important than a night out with the lads. Just friends? Don’t think so!

2. He carries all your bags and shopping for you
A man doesn’t willingly go shopping with a woman without a good reason.

3. He walks you to work every morning, turning up at 8am with an extra-hot skinny Caramel Macchiato in hand.
He works on the opposite side of the city…

4. He’s your back-up plan
If that cute guy is busy or the girls are away, you turn to him.

5. His friends joke that you are a couple
Your friends know that is a ridiculous notion.

Upcoming movie, Noah, received some controversial attention recently after the difficult filming conditions were described by Emma Watson, which resulted in her falling ill.

It looks visually impressive and we do love everything Russell Crowe does! The part of Noah was originally offered to Michael Fassbender and Christian Bale who both declined the role.

The movie will be released in Irish cinemas on the 28th March.
