Angelina Jolie is receiving some harsh criticism from Japanese nationalist conservatives who have accused her new movie, Unbroken, as being racist.

In a dramatic move, they have demanded that the actress be banned from the country, reportedly launching a petition on Change.org that has gained 8,000 signatures so far.

The move depicts the life of Louis Zamperini, an US Olympian who was spent 47 days at sea before being captured and tortured by the Japanese navy.

However, campaigners have called the movie immoral, with a member of the Society for the Dissemination of Historical Fact telling The Telegraph: “If there is no verification of the things he said, then anyone can make such claims. This movie has no credibility and is immoral.”

Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has made no secret of the fact that she found the passing of Louie Zamperini, the man who inspired her recently released film Unbroken, very difficult to deal with.

The film, directed by Angelina, details the life of the World War II hero who managed to survive both a plane crash and getting stranded at sea before eventually being captured by the Japanese and held as a Prisoner of War for almost three years.

Angelina became very close to Louie during the making of the film and she recently opened up about the moment she showed him the story of his life for the first time, something which many understood Louie did not live to see.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the married mum-of-six said: “I downloaded it on my laptop and I drove to the hospital and held it over him, like this, so he could see it. And it’s hard to explain. How do you explain that moment?”

Clearly moved, she goes on to say: “It was a man watching his life. It was a man at the end of his life, his extraordinary life—this mountain of a man, with his physical strength, at 97 years old.”

Angelina recently broke down on the red carpet when describing the connection she had made with Louie and she’s relieved that he lived to see the film, saying: "It was watching somebody relive all their experiences and prepare for that great, powerful, extraordinary, inspiring, long life to end.”

Before his passing Louie said: "I hav all the confidence Unbroken will be a great film." We're sure Angelina did him proud.

It was reported this week that Oscar-nominated actress Angelina Jolie ‘personally banned’ Kim Kardashian, Internet Breaker, from the world premiere of her World War II film Unbroken. Ooof.

Kim who was Down Under promoting her new fragrance Fleur Fatale apparently got wind of the red carpet event in Sydney and contacted Angie’s peeps in a bid to snag a couple of tickets, but was said to be well and truly pied in the face.

A source has revealed: “Angie’s people told Kim to buzz off and that Angie didn’t want to socialise with Kim or do a photo op in Australia with her. Kim was crushed.” We would be too, in fairness.

Apparently, recently-married Ange has bigger goals in mind than rubbing shoulders with the controversial reality TV star, with a source saying: “She is focused only on getting the Oscar nomination she’s always wanted and didn’t give Kim a second thought.” Ouch.

Kim, however, has gone on to deny these embarrassing reports with a spokeswoman from Kim’s camp saying: “The story is preposterous. Completely false. She did not ask to attend the premiere.”

Hmmm, who to believe?

Angelina Jolie had a very emotional moment on the red carpet last night.

The actress was attending the premiere of her film, Unbroken, which is based on the life of Olympian Louis Zamperini.

Louis sadly passed away in July before he got to see the movie finished and it is clear that Angelina misses him terribly.

Reporters on the red carpet read out some words spoken by Louis before he passed about the actress, saying: “Angelina became a big part of my life, she knows what she wants and she knows what she’s doing.  And I trust her 100%. I have all the confidence that Unbroken will be a great film.”

Louis’ words clearly touched Angelina dearly as she was left unable to answer but eventually says: “He was a great man.”

Angelina Jolie was spotted cuddling up to a new man who called her “honey” and “my gal” and it wasn’t Brad.

However, before you get all ratty and annoyed, the man in question was her inspiration for her new film Unbroken.

Louis Zamperini was a member of the 1936 Olympic track team competing in Berlin and survived 47 days in shark-infested waters before being held prisoner of war by the Japanese.

Angie, who directed the flick, admits that she felt “such a huge responsibility to get it right, because[she] loves [Zamperini] so much, and because he’s helped me so much in my life.”

Talking to Tom Brokaw on TODAY, Angie said: “I imagine that for the last 10-something years, [Zamperini has] been sitting there having a coffee in the morning and wondering who’s going to make this movie and I’ve been sitting in my room laying there thinking, ‘What am I supposed to be doing with my life? I want do something important … I need some help. I need some guidance. Where is it?’ And it was right outside my window.”

In fact, Zamperini was her neighbour and could even see her home from his patio.
