leonardo dicaprio

It’s been almost two decades since they starred together in Titanic.

But Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio’s friendship continues to be one of the sweetest – and longest enduring – Hollywood relationships.

They’ve walked countless red carpets together, starred as lovers in not one but two blockbuster films, and gushed about each other in too many interviews to count.

After seeing Kate’s oh-so emotional reaction when her mate Leo finally won a Best Actor award at last night’s Oscars, we were inspired to take a look back at some of their most tearjerking BFF moments…

1. When they first hit the red carpet together back in 1998
Kate’s hair is really something.

2. When Leo said this to Kate just ‘cos.

3. Oh, and this.

4. When Kate publicly expressed her love for her bestie on stage
Accepting her Golden Globe back in 2009

5. Of course, she’s done it on the red carpet a few times too.

6. When they couldn’t get over their excitement at BOTH winning Golden Globes this year
Too cute.

7. Basically any time they root for one another at awards shows

8. And hug like this afterwards

9. Oh, and like this.
Taken moments after Leo’s win last night.

Never change, guys.

This world breathed a collective sigh of relief last night when Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Academy Award.

After five failed attempts, the actor went home with a Best Actor statuette for his role in the gory drama The Revenant.

Being an Oscar winner at the Oscars is a VERY different experience to being a failed nominee, as Leo learned.

First up, there's a hell of a lot of people in your ear telling you what to do:

Secondly, EVERYONE wants a photo with you:

And thirdly, you get some exclusive privileges at the Vanity Fair after-party, like having your statuette engraved right then and there – much to Leo's delight.

Vanity Fair posted this adorable video today of the actor chatting with the engraver as he watches his award being personalised with a plaque bearing his name.

"Do you do this every year? I wouldn't know," he jokes.

Watch for the moment where he starts nervously drumming his fingers on the counter…Too cute.

Of course, the fact that there are about 100 photographers snapping away no doubt added to Leo's nerves, and would explain why the engraver's hands were shaking like a leaf.

Just another day at work, really.

She sparked a lot of rumours last week when she was seen getting cosy with the one and only Leonardo DiCaprio, and now, Laura Whitmore tells us what really went down at the BAFTA after-party.

During an interview with Hello!, Laura dished that "everyone was having fun – there was a lot of dancing," but she refused to answer any questions about Leonardo.

However, she told the mag what she looks for in an ideal man.

"Someone who can make me laugh and with whom I can have fun. I love banter so someone who can keep me on my toes. I don't mind having a few arguments," she said.

"I'm not interested in big, over-the-top gestures but little things, like I'll keep the ticket stubs from a gig I was at, or a T-shirt."

Since many news outlets have issued articles about Laura and Leo, the presenter has hit back on social media, and said that the situation is "shocking."

"I studied journalism for 4 years and find it shocking that someone can write a story about nothing and make up quotes. Extremely demeaning," she tweeted.

Nobody messes with the Whitmore.

The internet was all a-flutter this morning with the news that Leonardo di Caprio and Irish presenter Laura Whitmore had possibly hit it off at the BAFTAs, and now we have photographic proof.

Yup, not only were the pair at the same party, but they were photographed chatting and laughing together at least once during the night.

According to sources quoted in The Sun today, Laura caught the eye of the Revenant star early on in the night, and was invited back to his penthouse suite at London's Rosewood Hotel for a party that went on well into the early hours of Monday morning.

"Leonardo was completely taken by Laura," the insider said.

"She was playing it cool but he made a beeline for her and they instantly started flirting.

"She loved the attention and they were all over each other, getting on like a house on fire."

Now, The Sun has followed up with pictures of an interaction between Leonardo and the Bray native. In one photo, Leo appears to be laughing while Laura smiles at him, and in another she can be seen leaning in to whisper in his ear.

Although Laura was wearing a turquoise dress for her BAFTAs red carpet appearance – in contrast to the darker outfit and choker she can be seen sporting in the pictures – it's pretty common for guests to have a second outfit ready for award show after-parties.

So do these pictures point to a blossoming romance, or did this pair just enjoy a good laugh?

We may have to wait for the next after-party to find out.

A new Irish-American coupling could be on the cards – well, at least if a certain Oscar-less actor gets his way.

Leonardo DiCaprio was celebrating into the wee hours of Monday morning after scooping the Best Actor nod at the BAFTAs on Sunday, and he invited one very familiar Irish face to party alongside him.

According to sources in The Sun, Irish MTV presenter Laura Whitmore caught Leo's eye early on in the night, and was invited back to his penthouse suite at London's Rosewood Hotel for an all-nighter.

"Leonardo was completely taken by Laura," an insider claimed.

"She was playing it cool but he made a beeline for her and they instantly started flirting.

"She loved the attention and they were all over each other, getting on like a house on fire."

Ms. Whitmore wasn't the only beauty present for Leo's celebratory party – supermodel Lily Donaldson is also said to have showed up – but Laura was certainly getting most of his attention, according to the source.

"He [Leo] was all over Laura until well after 5am," they said. "At one point he held her face in his hand."

Of course, while Leo might have fallen for the Bray native, we can't forget that she is still presumably in a relationship with rocker Rory Williams, who she has been seeing since last autumn.

However given how determined she is to keep her private life out of the media, there's no knowing if the pair are indeed still an item.

"I don't like talking about things, as you know, with personal stuff, because it is no one else's business," Laura said in a recent interview.

"That's what my friends are for."

Laura has yet to address the Leo story on social media, but her rep did weigh in, telling the Irish Mirror that the claims of her "spending the night" with him were false.

"She was with a group of people who were all part of the BAFTA celebrations at no point did she spend the night with him."

Looks like we'll need to watch this space…

It seems like the whole world just can't seem to get the hang of Irish names.

After Denis Quaid messed up Saoirse Ronan's name at the Golden Globe nominations, Leonardo DiCaprio has gone and messed up Domhnall Gleeson's name at last night's SAG Awards.

Leonardo won Best Actor Award for his part in The Revenant, and while he was thanking the cast and crew, he said Domhnall Gleeson… But it didn't quite sound like the way we say it.

Instead, it kinda sounded like he said 'Duumbal' Gleeson.

Ah, we'll get there someday! Watch Mr DiCaprio's speech and spot the error:

We reckon 2016 could be Leonardo DiCaprio's year for the long-awaited Oscar win, now that he has the Pope putting in a good word for him with the man upstairs.

Okay, it's highly unlikely that the actor discussed his chances at the Academy Awards with Pope Francis when the pair met this week, but still, we can dream.

Leonardo had a 15-minute private audience with His Holiness at The Vatican yesterday, during which the pair reportedly chatted about environmental issues – and 15th century painters.

Turns out little Leo was a cultural know-it-all from an early age, as he revealed when giving the Pope a book of paintings by renowned Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch.

Pointing to Bosch's famous Garden Of Earthly Delights, Leo explained that it was "hanging over my crib as a young boy," and that nowadays it still inspires him.

Leo even brushed up on his Italian for the big meeting, thanking the Pope in Italy's native tongue. Of course, he may well already have had a few words in italiano, as the actor's father hails from Naples.

Meanwhile, Leo's latest film The Revenant has been doing a killing at the box office, taking in a whopping €200m in its first week.

And with a blessing from the Pope, we're sure there's more good luck to come.

Lady Gaga was one happy camper last night after unexpectedly walking away with a Golden Globe statuette for her role in American Horror Story.

The singer beat out Kirsten Dunst, Felicity Huffman, Sarah Hay and Queen Latifah to win the Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series.

But her fellow nominees weren't the only ones pushed to the side last night, as Gaga also managed to accidentally/on purpose give Leonardo DiCaprio a bit of a shove as she walked past him.

GIFs showing the moment from a few different angles have been doing the rounds today, and from what we can discern, it appears that Leo was laughing with others at his table and pointing at the stage, as Gaga walked up to accept her award.

Whether she shoved into his chair on purpose or not remains to be seen, but it's Leo's "caught in the act" face afterwards that really sent the internet into overdrive:

Speaking about the GIF-worthy moment backstage at last night's awards, Leo swore there was nothing untoward going on.

"Oh lord — that’s trending, huh?" he responded when questioned by Entertainment Tonight.

"I just didn’t know what was passing me — that’s all."

We're not sure what to believe, but either way we'll be watching the moment on repeat for the rest of the day, thanks very much.

It's been a huge 19 years since the world first saw Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio on screen in Titanic, and we're still not over how cute they are.

In fact, the two stars reunited at last night's Golden Globes, and even seeing them hug was enough to send Twitter into overdrive.

A clip from the show's live broadcast shows Kate and Leo chatting animatedly – no doubt about their respective Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor wins – before sharing a hug:

Jack and Rose, is that you?

Kate was one of the first to pay her congratulations to her former co-star after he accepted his award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for his role in The Revenant.

As for the English actress, she took home a gong for her role as Joanna Hoffman in Steve Jobs alongside Michael Fassbender.

While the pair both won last night, it remains to be seen if they'll get the same dose of good luck at the Oscars, with Leo's 22-year fight for a win still continuing.

For now though, we're just happy to see them back together – and so is everyone else, it seems:

Despite rumours that Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor is off the market for good, Leonardo DiCaprio has had a whole lot of dating fun in his 41 years.

What better way to toast the birthday boy than by reliving his most enviable romantic exploits…

1) Gisele Bundchen: seen with Leo from 2000 to 2005

Hot off the Victoria's Secret runway, Gisele fell for Leo in early 2000. The leggy model reportedly broke off the relationship five years later when Leo refused to pop the question. The pair remain friends and she did manage to secure a proposal eventually (just not from Leo!). She is now married to American football player, Tom Brady.

2) Bar Refaeli: seen with Leo from 2006 to 2009, and 2010 to 2011

At just twenty, the blonde model met Leo at a celebrity filled bash for U2. Bar dated the Hollywood hunk throughout the height of her career and despite rekindling their romance in 2010, the on off couple soon decided to call it quits for good. We haven't seen much from Bar since then, so let's just hope it is not a result of a broken heart.

3) Blake Lively: seen with Leo from May to October 2011

Lasting a mere 5 months, this rendezvous hit the ground running with the pair spotted on a number of glamorous holidays before the romance eventually fizzled out. The Gossip Girl star reportedly met Leo when she auditioned unsuccessfully for The Great Gatsby. Blake handled the break up fairly well by cosying up to her now husband, Ryan Reynolds.

4) Rihanna: seen with Leo from Dec 2014 to April 2015

Despite insistence from this power pair that they are just very good friends, reports persisted earlier this year that there was more to this steamy relationship than just friendship. The rumour mill went into overdrive with reports circulating that Rihanna’s family allegedly hated the pairing and that Leo had managed to get the pop starlet pregnant!

5) Kelly Rohrbach: seen with Leo from June 2015

If sources are to be believed than Kelly is the women who is about to revoke Leo’s bachelor title for good. The pair have faced engagement rumours for months since sparking up a romance in June. Kelly, a model, has already been introduced to Leo’s mammy and the gorgeous couple have enjoyed a romantic holiday away.

We don’t want to speak to soon, but it looks like Leo may be off the market for good!

Famous folk have a funny way of ageing. Yes, while the rest of us mark our birthdays in a timely fashion and appear to accumulate an additional year on a strictly annual basis – celebrities are somewhat different.

They've either been knocking around forever (HOW is Kylie Jenner still only 18?) or we assume they're still young'uns when, in fact, they're well into their fifth decade (Neil Patrick Harris, 42, we're looking at you).

Blake Lively, Erin Hetherton, Bar Rafaeli and even Rihanna… Leonardo DiCaprio is something of a serial dater, but apparently he's ready to settle down.

The actor has been dating 25-year-old model Kelly Rohrbach for the last few months, and it's being reported this week that the pair are in fact engaged.

According to US magazine OK, the proposal happened spontaneously over dinner and it definitely "wasn't planned."

For the sake of our unfulfilled teenage dreams of one day marrying Leo ourselves, we're hoping the rumours are untrue, but nothing has been confirmed either way yet.

While we wait though, we had better try get to know Kelly a little better. Here are a few things you NEED to know about your love rival the model…

1. She's already met Leo's mum
There's one woman that truly has Leo's heart, and that's his beloved mum Irmelin. So the fact that Kelly has already been introduced suggests Leo is indeed serious about her. The trio were spotted dining at New York waterfront eatery La Marina, enjoying mojitos, lobster and chicken after a day of biking around the city.

2. She's a grad of the prestigious Georgetown University
After earning a scholarship to Georgetown and majoring in theatre, Kelly moved to the UK where she trained with the London Academy of Acting and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). And apparently Leo loves the fact that she's "more than a pretty face" and can connect with him "on an intellectual level."

3. She hasn't been modelling for long
Earlier this year Kelly was voted as Sports Illustrated's Rookie of the Year for her 2014 shoot at California's Big Sur with renowned photographer Yu Tsai. But she only began modelling around a year before that,  signing to IMG models and US talent agency AME. Since making it big she's worked with Gap, Galore magazine, Free People and more.

4. She's a bona fide TV star
As well as cameos on Two and a Half Men and Rizzoli and Isles, Kelly also features on The PET Squad Files, a comedy about a group of college ghost hunters. As well as that, she's also lined up to star in Woody Allen's next (as yet untitled) film alongside Kristen Stewart and Leo's ex Blake Lively.

5. She's a star golfer… on top of everything else
It was Kelly's passion for golfing that scored her a Georgetown scholarship, and she immediately started playing on the college's Division One team. "My dad was a very good golfer, and he always dragged me along," she said of her sporting talents.
