Remember, back in the 00s, when clumpy mascara was an actual trend? Celebs like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were often photographed with what looked like a good half-tube of the stuff layered on.

The full lash trend never really went away, though, and celebs like Katy Perry, Girls Aloud and Lilly Ghalichi have cashed in on it big-time with their own range of false lashes. Aside from the endorsed ranges, Kim K has named Ardell Demi Wispies more than once as her falsie of choice – and they really are just amazing.

For a more convincingly natural look, eyelash extensions have become uber-popular among loads of celebs (as well as us mere mortals). Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie and Cheryl Cole are all devotees – they’re fine if you can afford the top-ups, but can look a little funny when falling out.

Brows have most definitely evolved over the years; from the pencil-thin Kate Moss ‘90s brow, to the uber-exaggerated Scouse brow of the ‘00s, to the bushy, Brooke Shields inspired natural brow we’re all loving right now.

Anastasia Soare (more commonly known as Anastasia Beverly Hills) has made her name by grooming celebrity brows, and counts Kim Kardashian, Oprah and Jennifer Lopez as regular clients. Many of them swear by her products; the Dipbrow Pomade and Brow Wiz in particular have a cult following.

Another celeb all too aware of the importance of a good brow is Kelly Osbourne. She’s confessed to over plucking in the past, and even included a brow palette in her MAC collection last year. Of course, the eyebrow icon of the moment has to be Cara Delevigne.

Cara’s made no secret of the fact that her brows are all-natural, and she doesn’t do a whole lot with them day-to-day apart from pluck the odd stray. On shoots, one of her MUAs Wendy Rowe also keeps it simple with Cara’s brows. She says: “Cara has really dark, dense brows naturally, so there's not a lot that I have to do to them to get them looking great. I mainly focus on grooming them and keeping them in position. Elnett hairspray, sprayed onto a M.A.C. Brow Gel to keep them in place—it’s easy to just comb through quickly, and when you have a lots of hair it’s important to fix it in shape as it can become unruly.” Noted.

Yikes, we’re not going to lie Kimmy – we’re a little scared!

Kim isn't the first celeb to take bleach to their eyebrows as Miley Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne and even her own sister Kendall sported the look on a catwalk last year.

Kim’s appearance at her little sister’s birthday party also seems to diminish rumours that Kendall had failed to invite her sisters to her big day.

It looks like French Montana may have made an appearance too by the looks of things…have him and Khloé patched things up?!

A good eyebrow shape can totally transform your face shape, far more than make-up, a new hairstyle or bold jewellery could ever hope to.

Most of us have been over-plucking for years, but with just a few weeks of TLC you'll have catwalk-worthy brows to rival Cara Delevingne, we promise!

Here are our tips to get you started…

1. Get the right kit
A good set of tweezers is absolutely, positively essential for grooming your brows. A cheap pair will just snap the hairs rather than removing them completely so splash out a little here. An eyebrow brush and a small set of sharp scissors will also come in very handy for shaping and trimming.

2. Find out your perfect brow shape
This process is the same for everyone as it's a simple matter of working out our facial symmetry. Hold a brush or pencil against the left side of your nose, pushing in so the brush is touching your inner nostril. Where the brush hits your brow bone is where your eyebrow should start.

Then, line the brush up diagonally so that it crosses your left pupil. Where the brush hits the brow bone is where your arch should be.

Finally, line the brush up diagonally so that it crosses the outer corner of your eye. Where the brush hits the brow bone is where your eyebrow should end. Repeat these steps with the right side.

3. Mark your borders
To avoid over-plucking, make a light line with a white eye pencil to mark the rough shape you'd like for your brows. As long as you don't pluck outside that line, you'll be sure to get the shape you want. Just remember to wipe the white lines away when you're done!

4. Fill, fill, fill
Even the most luscious of brows will have gaps, or areas where the hair is lighter. Brow powders and brow pencils are the perfect way to stop them looking messy. Start with a small amount and then add more to build intensity.

5. Keep the shape
Set your brows with product to avoid them getting unruly as the day goes on. Wax-based products are generally harder to apply and can melt quite easily, so a gel is a better option here. Look for one that's clear and non-sticky.

  • Try to match the colour of your brow kit to the colour of your hair. The NYX products comes in different shades and tones to suit blondes, brunettes and red heads.
  • When filling in your brows place your thumb on the nose bridge and then mark both sides with your pencil or powder. Start filling ladies – the bigger the better!

How you shape your eyebrows can either make or break you. While it may seem easy, many, many people are still managing to get it wrong.

Using a magnifying mirror
If you have to use a magnifying mirror to see the little hairs, you don’t need to pluck. Remember, people will be looking at you through the naked eye. Over-plucking leads to thin, sparse brows that don’t look good

Getting the arch wrong
Angle a pen from the bridge of your nose up to your iris to find your arch.

Tweezing above the brow
Only plunk under the arch and never go above it – no matter how much you may want to.

Try to make them look the same
Your eyebrows are not identical, so don’t try to make then look the same. If you do, you will lose the natural shape and end up with brows that look a little bit strange.

Choosing black brow make-up
If you need to fill in your brows make sure you choose the right colour. If you are fair, go for a colour that is one shade darker than your hair and if you are dark go one shade lighter. Never, ever choose black.

Remember, plucking your eyebrows is an art form that needs to be mastered.

If your eyes are the windows to your soul than it is vital you have a pretty good brow to frame them. Eyebrows help to define your face and show off your personality so it is important you get your plucking right.

Here are three celebs we think have the best brows – although we’re pretty sure they had a bit of help.

Beyonce
Beyonce’s oval eyebrows are sculptured yet still maintain their thickness. They perfectly frame her face and balance out her thick hair.

Cara Delevingne
You can’t talk about eyebrows without mentioning Cara’s. Her eyebrows are as big as her personality and have gone some way in helping to springboard her to fame.  Not everyone can pull off a heavy, bushy brow but this model does it with style.

Sarah Jessica Parker
SJP’s straight eyebrows perfectly compliment her face. The former Sex and The City star never has them too overdone and their flatness help to give the illusion of width.

Unfortunately not everyone is born with big beautiful eyes. Luckily, this look can be created with a few beauty tricks.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Line your lower lids with a white or shimmery liner. This will open your eyes up and make them stand out. Avoid using black because dark colors usually have an opposite effect.
  • Curl your lashes, no matter how short they are – this step is key to making your eyes look bigger.
  • Keep your eyebrows nice and neat. This will ensure that everyone’s focus is on your eyes instead of your not-so-groomed brows.
  • Get arty and line the top lash from the midpoint of your eye to the outer edge. With a flick you will draw attention to the outer parts of your eyes and make the rest appear bigger.
  • Highlight  your inner corners. This is a timeless way to give you bigger and brighter eyes.

When it comes to eyebrows, not everyone can pull off the same shape. While full brows seem to be working for Cara Delevingne, it doesn’t mean they’ll do you any justice.  The key to having nice eyebrows is having the RIGHT eyebrows.

Here’s how you can play with what you have and craft luxurious and perfectly groomed brows:

  1. Make sure the start of your brows are lined with the upper bridge of your nose.
  2. Give yourself some guidelines by filling your brows in with a brow pencil before you pluck. Remember your arch should be two thirds of the way across your brow.
  3. After drawing on your brows, brush them upwards.
  4. Fill in any gaps with brow powder that’s one or two shades lighter than your natural hair color if you’re a brunette and two or three shades darker if you’re fair haired.
  5. Trim any unwanted hair and then apply a wax so that your brows will stay in place.
