Now that the New Year is upon us, most of us have gone into overdrive trying to organise our lives.

But of course, it's easier said than done and sometimes we wish we could have a personal assistant by our side to remind us how to operate (because we forgot sometimes).

Well, now it may be simpler than before as there are personal assistant apps to help you out. Just imagine a little Lloyd from Entourage in your life:

1. Google Now

According to the app store, Google Now is the "intelligent personal assistant". This app organises just about everything you can imagine and will give you assistance all day, everyday.

Your info is organised into personalised cards that will provide you with just about everything you need, without you having to spend time searching.

2. Quip

If Mark Zuckerberg uses it, then we might as well use it too. Quip is known to be one of the best apps out there and is pretty much the virtual office used by Facebook and Instagram. It allows users to collaborate with others on various documents, spreadsheets and checklists.

This is especially handy if your New Years Resolution is to get more organised in work.

3. Wunderlist

If you love lists or simply need something to organise your thoughts, then Wunderlist is for you. The app organises your productivity and sets out classic to-do lists for each day/week.

You can also share lists with others, which is handy for organising nights out, family dinners, etc.

4. Speaktoit

Speaktoit is pretty much Siri after she has been promoted. The app lets you make calls, send texts and search the web, all the while remembering everything from your favourites. All you have to do is, you've guessed it, speak to it.

It will answer all of your questions, perform tasks while your busy and even give you social media updates.

5. 24me

If you're a forgetful person, then this app will work as your second brain. It generates reminders for everything like important work meetings, girls nights out and even paying bills.

24me combines your calendar, to-do lists and notes all in one handy place. It also syncs with social media apps to send messages to your friends or give you reminders for important birthdays.

Not everyone has time to sit for a full, deep meditation every day – sometimes you just want to take a break! That’s exactly what this app’s usability allows. From 5 minutes to a half hour, this app will suit your schedule.

Headspace

Beginners start with Headspace’s Take 10 program to learn meditation basics; 10 minutes a day for 10 days. Emma Watson has also raved about this app in the past. Hey, if it's good enough for Emma, it's good enough for us.

Honestly the first thing we thought of when we saw this news was ‘finally’.

Three geniuses have reinvented the Tinder game and we think this could actually be better than the Tindog experiment.

It’s very simple, much like the original Tinder concept: Swipe left, swipe right, find your perfect match. However, while previously you were searching for the romantic love of your life, these guys just made it even better. They created Tinder for food.

The three buddies Jordan Homan, Necco Ceresani and David Blumenfield bonded over food, don’t all best friends though? Their passion for food made them look at apps such as Tinder in a new light.

They decided that they were going to help people decide what it was they really wanted to spend their downtime with, snacks!

“As a twenty-something, we are all constantly combating the impulse to just eat-out or pick something up,” Jordan told Boston.com.

The named their app Tender (we see what you did their guys), and it isn’t just glorified food porn, it actually gives you the recipes of the delicious dishes on offer. By swiping right you save the recipe to your 'cookbook' so you can go back and check it later,.

“How often do you really think, ‘God, I could go for Indonesian tonight?’” David asked. “But when you get smacked in the face with a picture that looks so appetizing it is hard to say no to at least giving it a try.”

He’s correct, a mere three minutes after installing the app all you want to do is go home and make your own pulled pork tacos.

You’re not just going to be stocking up on dinner recipes either, there are filters for desserts and cocktails. Also, there’s tons of vegan dishes to choose from so no one is left behind.

Maybe you could even start combining your Tinder and Tender use? We do love when someone can cook us a decent homemade meal…

If you've been single at any stage during the last two years you've no doubt given Tinder a go. And within five minutes, you probably realised that every guy you swiped left for fell into one of a few categories.

There's the lad who insists on only posting group photos, with no indication whether he's the semi-hot guy or the definitely-not-hot guy (meaning he's probably the latter). Then there's the gym buffs who only post mirror selfies of themselves topless and always mention their love of #gains.

And of course, we can't forget the creeps who are only here for the ride, and nothing else. Charming.

Youtuber Jessica Spencer has been giving Tinder dating a try herself lately, and we're loving her take on the world of online dating:

Sort yourselves out, lads!

Not entirely sure why everyone is surprised by the latest dating app to hit the market.

There’s something for every kind of preference out in the big bad world of internet dating. From beard lovers to sailor lovers, even people with foot fetishes are being catered for. There was just one giant gaping hole in the market: a dating site for dog lovers.

Fear not! Tindog has arrived, and the ‘puppy love’ puns are only going to get worse.

Who hasn’t spent a Saturday night doing the Netflix and chill routine with their canine companion and thought, “If only me and Rover could find love online”.

Any good dog owner surely feels that obligation to ensure their four-legged friend finds their soulmate, did Lady and the Tramp teach you nothing?

And now, you can. Tindog is essentially the same as it’s more humanist sister app, except it’s targeted at dog owners. Get thee to the nearest Italian for spaghetti and meatballs, immediately.

Instead of spending hours swiping left or right trying to figure out who’s your match from a cryptic group profile photo, you get to stare at puppies all day. And night, if you’re so inclined.

Most of the users are going to be completely naked, fair warning. But that’s expected- they are dogs after all.

It feels like a winner for a lot of lonely souls with cute pooches out there, because who could swipe left on an adorable Husky pup? Or what about all the Pug lovers out there?

"This is what my night looks like when u cancel plans with me" -Doug

Doggie lovers are going to be all over this, we can feel it.

Founder and CEO (and absolute genius) Julien Muller said in a press release:

“Dogs bring so much joy and love, that they really have the power to connect us. That’s why we wanted to make it easy for dog lovers to meet new people.”

Just like Tinder, when Tindog users match, they can chat and arrange a pet play-date, or an actual date sans puppies.

But let’s be honest, there’s probably going to be a lot of guys borrowing their family pets for romantic strolls about town.

How often have you woken up after a night out and wished someone had prised your phone out of your drunk, eager hands? Or longed for someone to fill in the blanks between leaving the first pub and arriving at the fifth?

The introduction of new app Drunk Mode, created by Joshua Anton, may be everything you’re looking for! This app, available for iPhones and Androids, is basically your babysitter on a night out.

Its features include preventing you from calling certain people by allowing you to store a list of numbers you’d rather not ring while blind drunk and reminiscing. Jackpot.

It also has a ‘breadcrumb’ function which allows you to track the pubs and clubs you attended the night before, so the days of squinting at the receipt of a bar you’ve never heard of are over! Genius.

The app’s creator told USA Today that he realised the app's potential when he received a call from a girl who said things that “she probably wouldn’t…if she were sober.” We’ve been there, anonymous girl.

The team behind Drunk Mode are currently launching a campaign to incorporate more features, but are experiencing financial struggles while working towards their $30,000 goal.

We hope they’ll get there soon!

In the last two years dating has become increasingly easier. Most people don’t even need to leave their houses to meet new people. Since this kind of thing can be quite dangerous, make sure you know a friend of the person at least. It will seriously annoy you if they are a catfish and you will have to sit in a bar with them for 30 minutes, while you realize what a shit situation you are in. Apps have changed the dating game and most will say for the better. But here are the ones that have made the biggest impact:

1. Tinder

Probably the most famous of all, specifically targeted towards dating, in 24 languages, you could find your perfect match. Or, just realize you fancy no one that lives near you. All hail Tinder and the random hook ups it has created.

2. Snapchat

Ah Snapchat! An innocent way to send a photo of you with your boobs out to the whole population of males or females in your city. There is nothing that Snapchat cannot do. And, in case anyone was wondering, people will know who you have been Snapchatting – very territorial all together.

3. Whatsapp

Whatsapp is a device where texting is seen in a more casual manner. The group named after your cleverly titled group of friends is how you keep up appearances. Your Whatsapp photo may define you, so, choose carefully. Also, if there are any naked selfies floating about, they will fly through Whatsapp as quick as a flash.

4. Instagram

If you want to know who is the sap out of your group or if someone is in a relationship – take to Instagram. There will be couple selfies, sorry, #couplie’s. There will be presents they have received and there will be that awkward first date you both had. Liking on Instagram is also a way to know who is looking at your photos.

5. Facebook

Poke here and poke there, poking wars have become quite the Facebook epidemic. Who you talk to on chat, or who likes your photos, could be the sign of a new relationship. Numbers are exchanged and soon you will be in contact with your new date. Facebook has opened gates for us all.

6. Google

When you meet someone on a night out, on Tinder or through Facebook you will most likely Google them to make sure they aren’t a convicted felon. Google carefully and wisely. Add every single thing you know about them into the search bar – make it easier on yourself.

7. Twitter

Twitter is a very casual way to find someone. Many random people follow each other. It just isn’t as private as Facebook or Whatsapp. Anything you put on Twitter you are letting the world see. If you say where you were for dinner people will know your exact where abouts. So, don’t expect privacy on this yoke – unless your profile is fiercely private of course.
