According to a report in the Evening Echo, University College Cork has introduced strict policies in anticipation of next month's RAG week festivities.

In an effort to appease local residents, the university has confirmed it will take a 'hardline approach' to students who cause undue disturbance during the week in question.

Students who are found to disrupt the peace will be obliged to pay €50 to the student hardship fund, and those who refuse to take responsibility will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.

Commenting on the new policy, a spokesperson for the university said: "UCC has introduced a number of initiatives to respond swiftly and decisively to students who are in breach of university rules, such as anti-social behaviour.”

Echoing this, Stewart Philpott,Head of Community Policing, added: "UCC is tightening the rules around students in houses. They are being made more answerable to the college."

"They seem to be taking a more hardline approach. The new President, Patrick O’Shea, is very much of the community and he believes the college shouldn’t be causing trouble  He seems to be very much on board from that point of view."

UCC was recently awarded the University of Sanctuary status which will allow the facility to provide seven asylum seekers with full scholarships.

The university is following in the footsteps of Dublin City University and the University of Limerick, who were also given the status by the Places of Sanctuary, Ireland.

Last night's Grammy Awards ceremony was full of touching moments and gripping performances, but few caught the attention of the viewing public quite like Kesha's powerful rendition of her song, Praying.

Joined by a host of female singers all dressed in white, the singer gave an emotionally charged performance of the song she wrote amid the very public lawsuit against her former producer Dr. Luke, who she accused of sexual and emotional abuse.

Cyndi Lauper, Camila Cabello, Julia Michaels and Andra Day were just some of the women to join the star on stage.

The fierce performance ended with Kesha wiping tears from her face as she hugged her fellow artists.

Earlier in the night, Praying lost out to Ed Sheeran's Shape of You in the Best Pop Solo Performance category, leaving many angered fans questioning the judging process.

Some argued that Ed's hit single, which contains lyrics about admitting a woman's body, was not an appropriate winner given that the award organisers had thrown their support behind the Time's Up and #MeToo movements.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter had a thing or two to say about the whole debacle.

Unless you're extremely lucky, it's highly unlikely you gel with every single person in your workplace.

While you may not be able to articulate why you tend to give certain people a wide berth, you just know that they're simply not your type of person.

But if you harbour suspicions that they're raving psychopaths and would give anything to find evidence of this, you need look no further than two recent studies published in Journal Of Business Ethics.

According to the research, you can spot the psychopath in your office by taking note of the relationship they have with their boss.

If the boss in question is particularly difficult to work for and yet your colleague appears to thrive under their management approach, then you may – put simply – have a psycho on your hands.

So, how did researchers set about isolating the psychopaths among us?

419 volunteers firstly had their reactions measured when presented with manager profiles before being asked to assess their own real-life managers.

The study identified two types of psychopathy; primary dimension and secondary dimension, and ascertained that those who appeared to thrive beneath a problematic manager displayed signs of the former.

Elaborating on the findings, Dr Charlice Hurst said: "Both consist of high levels of antisocial behaviour; however, people who score high in primary psychopathy lack empathy and are cool-headed and fearless."

"They don’t react to things that cause other people to feel stressed, fearful or angry. Secondary psychopaths are more hot-headed and impulsive."

Unlike other people who would struggle under the direction of a problematic manager, primary psychopaths benefit under abusive supervisors.

"Relative to their peers low in primary psychopathy, they felt less anger and more engagement and positive emotions under abusive supervisors," Dr Hurst continued.

So, now you know…

Blackheads make some of the most common and annoying skin care issues. Everyone has them, and many still search for efficient methods to get rid of them. These dark and clogged pores make your skin look dirty, regardless of how often you wash them and how many skin care products you use. Peel-off masks stand out among other products thanks to social media popularity and testimonials about their efficiency. The best peel-off mask yet seems a bit hard to track down.

Peel-off masks seem to be the 20-minutes solutions that solve months of concerns regarding those visible pores. Some of those even work miraculously, if you’d believe all those testimonial videos. Two Irish actors have come forward to reveal how they were sexually harassed by powerful industry executives when they were just starting out in the acting business.

Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan, 31, and Ballykissangel star Victoria Smurfit, 43, have both shared stories of how they were put in uncomfortable situations in order to win the respect of those in charge.

Taking to Twitter, Nicola, who plays 16-year-old Clare Devlin on the hit Channel 4 show, recalled a situation where she had been asked to "perform naked" by a "respected director" while taking part in an acting competition she was just a teenager.

Using the hashtag #GreyAreasNoMore, the Galway native admitted that the account was "barely the tip of the iceberg", adding that she has been put in much worse situations over the years.

"I had a chat with him before about what the competition would entail and he told me that if I really wanted to impress him, I should perform naked," she wrote.

"I was a kid, but no woman of any age should be spoken to by a man in a position of power, ever. Trust me, I have a lot worse stories than that."

Meanwhile, speaking to The Sunday Independent, Victoria Smurfit revealed how she had been ordered to accompany a producer to his hotel room following a successful Hollywood audition.

After a “fantastic” second audition, the star recalls how she was invited out for dinner with the production team.

Aware she needed to be on her “game”, Victoria discretely poured her alcoholic drinks into a potted plants as she laughed and joke with industry execs.

Later in the evening, the producer told the actress, who was in her 20s at the time, “you are coming with me to my hotel room.”

Clearly distressed my the situation, the actress “just played innocent”, admitting "he was very straight and very strong about it, so I legged it back to my hotel".

Upon returning for her third audition, she was told she did not get the role.

Last night, the music industry's brightest stars descended upon Madison Square Garden for the 60th annual Grammy Awards.

Once again, celebrities took the opportunity to show their support for the Time's Up movement, with many attendees sporting a white rose in solidarity with the campaign.

Rita Ora, Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson were just some of the big names to accessorise their gowns with the symbol, however, one artist decided that some things are better said with words.

Lorde, the only female singer to be nominated in the Album of the Year category, finished off her red-carpet look with an inspiring passage from Jenny Holzer's Inflammatory Essay.

Sewn into the back of her crimson dress, the excerpt reads: "Rejoice! Our times are intolerable. Take courage, for the worst is a harbinger of the best. Only dire circumstance can precipitate the overthrow of oppressors."

"The old and corrupt must be laid to waste before the just can triumph. Contradiction will be heightened. The reckoning will be hastened by the staging of seed disturbances. The apocalypse will blossom."

Meanwhile, Lorde's mother, Sonja Yelich, also staged her own subtle protest when she tweeted a photo highlighting a passage from a New York Times article.

The circled section reported how women have made up just 9 per cent of nominations in the last six Grammy Awards.

Despite being nominated to the top category, Lorde did not preform at the ceremony.

According to Variety, the singer was asked to sing as part of a collective tribute to the late Tom Petty, and not her nominated work.

While the tide seems to be turning against so-called influencers who manipulate images before showcasing them on their social media channels, we're still a long way off making Instagram a filter-free zone, which is why fitness influencer, Karina Irby, is such a breath of fresh air.

Using her social media account as a platform to reach out to those suffering from skin conditions, Karina gave an insight into the effect eczema has had on her life.

Sharing a photo of herself in a bikini, Karina wrote: "This photo is hard for me to post. One of my goals this year is to create normality to a few seriously common things people world wide are dealing with day to day."

"For me this is eczema and cellulite, and together they’re not the most flattery combo," she continued. "I wanted to share this image showing off my angry skin and cellulite to help raise awareness that THIS IS NORMAL."

This photo is hard for me to post… One of my goals this year is to create normality to a few seriously common things people world wide are dealing with day to day. For me this is eczema and cellulite, and together they’re not the most flattery combo I wanted to share this image showing off my angry skin and cellulite to help raise awareness that THIS IS NORMAL. I want to help love and support other angry skin suffers that are covering up, feeling self conscious and even being bullied that they’re not alone I’ve been there, and I’m still dealing and accepting my skin every single day. Lately I’ve been receiving a lot of DM’s from eczema suffers all around the world giving me their personal advice and even saying thank you for sharing. Instead of the DM’s please comment below your questions, advice or anything you like that may help another in need. And more importantly, to prove to someone else that eczema is common, and they’re alone and shouldn’t feel uncomfortable and singled out. When I was a teenager I felt so alienated, unhappy and self conscious. I felt so alone and that no one knew what I had to deal with every day. Little did I know I had an entire community behind me, I just needed time to grow and realise it. So for all those young people out there that may be feeling the same… I got you’re back

Reaching out to fans and followers who may suffer from the same condition, Karina explained: "I want to help love and support other angry skin suffers that are covering up, feeling self conscious and even being bullied that they’re not alone."

"When I was a teenager I felt so alienated, unhappy and self conscious. I felt so alone and that no one knew what I had to deal with every day. Little did I know I had an entire community behind me, I just needed time to grow and realise it."

Perspective VS reality This is me. Current day. I wanted to share this with you because I think it's important to stay true and real on social media. I can assure you the only difference in these two photos are the way I'm standing and wearing my bikini. We all know our angles and don't always share the images of us not looking our best. Therefore, sometimes we can share an unrealistic showcase of ourselves. Of course we all want to share photos of ourselves where we look good, great, our best! I know that I do. I'm sure that you do. It's just human nature. However, this nature of Social Media, and our usage of it, encourages unrealistic expectations. Everyone posts pictures of themselves on their best day, in their best angle, and everyone else feels that their everyday self isn't good enough, or doesn't match up, or can't compete. It's important to focus on yourself and your own goals instead of comparing yourself to others constantly. Run your own race and set your own goals, the only person you need to impress is you!@MOANA_BIKINI @BIKINI.BODY.BURN

Karina's post has been liked more than 67,000 times in mere days, with many Instagram users paying tribute to Karina's candour.

"Nice to see someone post a NORMAL photo that isn't photoshopped or altered," wrote one follower. "We all have our things and nobody is perfect, so own what you got and ROCK IT!"

You do you, Karina.
