RTÉ has responded to claims that Dancing With The Stars is rigged.

It was evident from Twitter that viewers weren't happy about Des Bishop being voted off last week – even though he received a higher vote from the judges than Teresa Mannion or Des Cahill.

This provoked suspicion in fans of the show and many made their voices heard on social media, saying that the dancing competition has to be a fix.

However, now RTÉ has responded to the claims, saying that they are further from the truth.

The network's producer Larry Bass told The Irish Sun: "The public voting system on our show is entirely fair.

"The same thing happens on this show around the world where people like Des, he might not be a great dancer, but gets votes because they are comical or entertaining.

"We don't give breakdowns on the voting as this information is commercially sensitive and may also have an impact on the voting patterns for the remaining shows.

"It works the same for Stricly on the BBC," he added.

You can catch the next episode of Dancing With The Stars tonight at 6.30pm.

The UCD students' union has made the decision to cancel its sexual consent classes due to lack of interest.

Out of 30,000 students, only 20 took part in the classes which have been ongoing since February as part of the college's #NotAskingForIt campaign.

According to the union's welfare officer, Róisín O'Mara, students didn't sign up for the segment because they felt they didn't need to be taught about consent.

“It’s a hot topic at the moment. Perhaps that is why people don’t want to be seen as needing to be told what consent is. The people who needed to go to classes wouldn’t have gone.

“The people who were already engaging were the people who had a fair idea what consent was.”

So far, the classes have cost the union €1,800, however they would have €4,000 in total if they ran for the full term.

So, yesterday we discovered that Love Actually is coming back to our screens, and it's getting a modern makeover courtesy of Comic Relief.

Red Nose Day Actually will be a special short-film version of the flick, in aid of Comic Relief.

Much to our delight, all of our favourite actors from the original have signed up to take part in the 2017 version of the classic film.

Filming has already begun, and we've gotten some sneak peeks from behind the scenes courtesy of Red Nose Day director Emma Freud.

The BTS snaps show the likes of Liam Neeson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster filming new scenes.

Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Matrine McCutcheon, Keira Knightly, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Andrew Lincoln are all making a comeback for the sequel.

Day one of filming has just wrapped, and we're already beyond excited for the flick.

The new film is rumoured to be only 10 minutes long, and will be set 14 years after the original.

"We've been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part – and it'll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later," writer and director Richard Curtis told the Mirror.

We cant wait to see that nostalgic moment for ourselves!

Microblading has been one of 2017's biggest beauty trends, but there is a new kid on the block.

Don't worry, semi-permanent eyebrows aren't going anywhere, but there is a new way to add some "oomph" to your eyes.

Lash enhancement tattoos are the latest trend sweeping the world of beauty, and its basically semi-permanent invisible eyeliner.

Piret Aava, a makeup artist and eyebrow guru, recently spoke to Marie Claire about the lash enhancement process.

"You fill in between the lashes to create the illusion of thicker, darker, and completely full lashes without looking lined or like obvious makeup," she said.

The idea of letting someone go at your eyes with a needle sounds extreme, but Piret says that "the area is numbed first, and then thin liner is tattooed right in the lash line."

Coming soon!!!Eyelash enhancement.Thin eyeliner tattoo right on your lash line

Piret also said that that the results are relatively low key, and that "No one will know you've had anything done, but your eyes will be more permanently defined."

The procedure is a two-step process, and requires a touch-up 6 weeks after the initial application.

The process is not cheap (shocker), with prices starting around the €600 mark, however, the liner will last anywhere from 3-5 years, so it is well worth the investment.

We are very tempted…

In the past 24 hours, I've seen three celebrities being body-shamed online… and I just don't get it.

Why is this still happening? Why do people still feel the need to comment on a woman's weight?

Honestly, I don't have the answers.

In a recent article on Cosmo, alleged emails from Dr. Luke were leaked where he was complaining about Kesha's weight, and said he'd be better off if she was a machine and he could do whatever he wanted with her.

He wrote: "We were having a discussion on how she can be more disciplined with her diet. There have been many times we have all witnessed her breaking her diet plan. This particular time – it happened to be diet coke and turkey while on an all juice fast."

A post shared by Kesha (@iiswhoiis) on

Kesha's manager, Monica Corina, replied that the singer is "a human not a machine," to which Dr. Luke responded, "if she were a machine that would be way cool and we could do whatever we want."

I get that Kesha is in an industry where a lot of emphasis is put on how she looks but, give her a break. If she wants to eat turkey, let her eat fecking turkey.

In case Dr. Luke hadn't noticed, the world is fighting against the idea of 'perfection' – women come in all shapes and sizes, and they're all beautiful.

Look at Ashley Graham, who just walked for Michael Kors at New York Fashion Week.

Being the first plus-size model to grace the designer's runway; she was celebrated and applauded for staying true to herself and not succumbing to what people like Dr. Luke think is 'the perfect size'. And fair play to her – it's the way we should celebrate every woman.

However, on the flipside, former model, Tara Reid, was blasted online for looking "too skinny" yesterday.

The model shared an innocent photo on Instagram of her holding her dog, who sadly passed away, but instead of people offering support, they focused on Tara's weight.

"No one is naturally that skinny, it doesn't look great and it's very ageing," wrote one user, while another quipped, "if she was my friend, I'd insist on her getting help."

Why do people, who don't even know this woman, feel the need to comment on her weight?

Are they doctors? Nutritionists? NO. They're not even her friends.

A post shared by Tara Reid (@tarareid) on

We need to realise that some people are skinny and some people carry a few extra inches – and that's all OK.

Another celebrity to be caught up in an online body-shaming torrent was controversially, Khloe Kardashian.

She was recently made an ambassador for Protein World, and her ad campaign suffered backlash, as people said it made women have "low self-esteem."

But, why? It seems like no matter what your body shape, people have a problem with it. Yes, it's air brushed (as all campaigns are) but, Khloe has curves, and she celebrates them. Yet, people say it's unrealistic.

Maybe it is, but if you exercise and eat well – is your goal not to be toned up? Just like it was Khloe's goal three years ago? She achieved it, and people are still condemning her for it.

A post shared by Protein World (@proteinworld) on

She's been extremely vocal about being healthy, but maintaining her shape, so why are people so offended?

Whether you're big, small, short, or tall – everyone has a different body type. EVERYONE.

Why can't we get our heads around that? Why is commenting on people's weight still a thing? Why was it ever a thing? And, really, why can't we just get past it?

We all need to build a body-shaming bridge and get over it.

It's just about been a year since Ashley Graham graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, gaining the title as the first plus size model to ever do so, while simultaneously making huge strides for fat acceptance in the fashion and beauty industry.

Since then, the model's star has continued to rise. She has starred in countless campaigns, been featured on the cover of Vogue and was immortalised in plastic in the form of a mini-me Barbie doll

Now, the model is taking on New York Fashion Week, and has become the first plus size woman to walk for fashion mega-brand Michael Kors

Walking alongside the likes of Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, the model looked amazing on the runway.

"Thank you for the opportunity and showing that beauty comes in many different forms," the model said, captioning a snap from the show on Instagram.

"Don't let my runway face fool you, this is what really happens backstage! Thank you again Michael Kors and thanks to my boo Bella for giving me tips on my walk!" she said, on another image of her and Bella Hadid.

Ashley wasn't the only curvy model to be featured on a mainstream fashion catwalk at NYFW this season.

Plus size model Candice Huffine modelled two looks at the Prabal Gurung show on Sunday evening.

A post shared by Candice Huffine (@candicehuffine) on

"Thank you Prabal, I love how you see the future for all women!" the model said on Instagram.

By the looks of things, NYFW is ready to embrace women of all shapes and sizes, and it's about time.

My Ireland, a spoken word piece by Tallagh poet Stephen James Smith, took Ireland by storm yesterday as people became enraptured by his words about our Emerald Isle.

The poem looks at what it means to be Irish, both the good and the bad.

Everything from Copper Faced Jacks to the Magdalene Laundries is mentioned, as the poem draws on both the past and the present.

Since the release, the video has racked up thousands of hits, as Irish people flock to the video to hear Stephen's worlds flowing melodically over videos of Ireland shot by filmmaker Myles O'Reilly.

The lengthy poem was commissioned as part of this year's St Patrick's Festival.

At almost 12 minutes long, it's commitment to sit down to, but well worth it.

The poem has broken the internet, or at least the Irish corner of it, and the reactions to the piece are moving.

Some fans are even calling for the poem to be included on the Leaving Cert syllabus, with the St Patrick's Festival Twitter account agreeing, saying that "students nationwide should hear."

Some picked up on the issues raised by the poem, such as the inclusion of Savita Halappanavar, and linked them back to current movements such as The Repeal Project.

Others simply quoted the lines they felt were most relevant to their lives.

"I spent the best part of six months on it," the poet told the Irish Independent

"It's a labour of love, although it probably is flawed. It's my interpretation of what it means to be Irish today – a celebration of all that's good, but also pointing out all that's wrong."

"The unfairness that's become part and parcel of life today."

If you haven't made the time to watch it for yourself yet, do it now.

It was exactly a year ago that Ashley Graham rocked a purple bikini on the cover of Sports Illustrated, demonstrating her curves in the most body confident way.

While the fashion industry has come on leaps and bounds in promoting body diversity over the past few years, there is still a lack of variation in certain elements of bodily representation.

There are lots of different body types on show, but all with perfect skin, not a hint of cellulite or stretch marks to be seen.

A post shared by Lane Bryant (@lanebryant) on

Ashley Graham has previously spoken out about her cellulite in a body positive way, but the leg dimples she showcased on Instagram do not feature on her bikini cover.

One company who wants to change the way cellulite and stretch marks are perceived is Lane Bryant, a plus size clothing and lingerie brand.

The brand (who just recently started shipping to Ireland) is putting tummy stretch marks on the map by featuring the gorgeous figure of plus size model Denise Bidot in its latest ad.

While Kate Upton may be posing, stretch mark free, on the cover of this months Sports Illustrated, the Lane Bryant ad spread sits in among its pages, promoting body diversity in one of the world's biggest swimsuit magazines.

Denise is totally un-retouched in the image, which features the slogan "My Confidence … Inspired by #ThisBody."

The campaign has been welcomed by women with open arms: "She looks fantastic and kudos to you for not airbrushing out her stretch marks! She is beautiful just as she is," reads one comment, under Denise's picture on the LB Facebook page.

The image is completely gorgeous and promotes the idea that all bodies are beautiful, despite the perceived "flaws." And that's an idea we can definitely get behind.

If you've ever found yourself wondering whether anyone would notice if you grabbed 40 winks in the office bathroom, you may be interested to hear that a designer has created a desk which doubles as a bed.

That's right ladies, Athanasia Leivaditou is attempting to make the world a better place… one catnap at a time.

So, how does it work exactly? Well, you'll be pleased to know that the designer has made it pretty simple.

All you need to do is slide back the desk surface, then fold the back of the desk down to create the mattress and crawl into your new workplace fort.

But before you drop a note in the work Suggestion Box, it's worth remembering that the design has not yet reached the market, so it may be some time before you're the proud owner of the convertible napping desk.

Still, we can dream, right?

Festival season is fast approaching, but the Irish festivals have been a little slow in announcing the line ups for summer 2017.

Electric Picnic is notorious for remaining tight lipped on the subject, but the music haven has finally revealed when the line up will be launched.

"Are you ready to do all of this again in September? The first acts for Electric Picnic 2017 will be announced the week of 20th March," reads a caption on the festival's Facebook page.

Festival fans have been eagerly anticipating the line up for months, and most of the tickets have already been sold, with the final tier of tickets being released later this year.

Last year saw acts such as The 1975, who are playing Malahide Castle later this summer, LCD Soundsystem and Lana Del Rey take the main stage.

Another Irish festival which has yet to be announced is Longitude.

No dates or acts have been confirmed for Longitude 2017, nor have any tickets gone on sale.

Tickets for last year's festival went on sale in January.

Last year, major US rapper Kendrick Lamar, as well as Major Lazer and The National, smashed it on the main stage at the no-camping weekend of festivities.

A fake Longitude 2017 Facebook page sprung up last week, claiming to be raffling off tickets to the festival through like and share competitions.

The page gained almost 30,000 followers before being disbanded.

We seriously hope that Longitude releases the dates ASAP, and in the meantime we will be marking March 20 into our calendars to keep up to date with all the Electric Picnic announcements.

If your handbag is currently groaning under the weight of countless products aimed at treating sore or cracked lips, you're no doubt in the market for a handy hack or two.

And thankfully, the good folk from the world of dermatology have delivered on that front.

According to those in the know, applying eye cream to your pout will make for a smoother and more hydrated set of lips.

And why?

Like the delicate skin around the eye, lips benefit from the ingredients in eye cream which are used to combat lines and wrinkles, and minimise dehydration.

Giving an expert insight into the hack, dermatologist, Marianna Pistilli, reveals that she practices what she preaches.

"I slather it on my undereyes and eyelids, and whatever is leftover on my finger, I put on my lips, " she explains. "Eye creams are usually very safe because they have been tested for it they get in and or near the eye."

If we can get more than one use out of any beauty product, you may consider us officially converted.

Raising awareness of breast cancer is a seriously important cause, and one lingerie brand at NYFW made it their mission to do just that.

Lingerie and loungewear specialist Ana Ono, who describe themselves as catering for people with "two breasts, one breast, no breasts or new breasts," chose models for their latest show who had survived or were currently battling breast cancer.

The choice of these models made for a striking show which raised awareness of the disease as the images were shared across the globe.

A post shared by Peter Cooper (@iampetercooper) on

The show featured 16 amazing women from various backgrounds who showed off both the underwear and their cancer scars.

Designer Dana Donofree, the brainchild behind Ana Ono, is a breast cancer survivor herself, and decided that it was time to create a pretty but functional line of surgery and mastectomy bras for women suffering from breast cancer.

"We dress women with unilateral and bilateral mastectomies, with or without reconstruction. We clothe women in lush Recovery Wear™ and loungewear with a unique drain management system so from the moment they step out of surgery and enter treatment, they feel comfortable, feminine and beautiful," reads a statement on the Ana Ono site."

A post shared by Ericka Hart, M.Ed. (@ihartericka) on

"From there, we offer patented Radiation Wear specifically designed to avoid areas of the skin that often get burned or scarred and chafe during treatment. And with a collection of post-op bras and wirefree bralettes, we are making a difference to be there with these women on every step of her journey for the rest of her life."

Proceeds from the Ana Ono show were also donated to the non-profit organisation Cancerland, which works to encourage women to live well while dealing with their disease.

Not only did the show raise breast cancer awareness on a high fashion platform, but it also made a statement to women suffering from breast cancer that there is no shame in having scars.

A post shared by AnaOno (@anaonointimates) on

One of the models, body positivity activist Erika Hart, took to Instagram before the show to express her delight in being included.

"I want to say this is a dream come true, but really it's a dream I gave up on many moons ago."

A post shared by Ericka Hart, M.Ed. (@ihartericka) on

"Leaned into the often vocal thoughts that I was ugly, flat footed (yes someone told me this), not the right this or that to be a model. So, I am walking this weekend for the folks who have been told they couldn't," she said.

We seriously commend Ana Ono raising awareness, raising funds and empowering women who may feel that their disease holds them back from identifying as beautiful.
