Writers everywhere; beware.

Google is now funding a new website which will see robots write for it.

According to Press Association, a the new project received $807,000 from Google's Digital News Initiative funding which will see data robots report on a news site which will produce "a daily diet of compelling stories."

However, we don't need to be too scared, because it will collaborate with humans too.

"Using a combination of editorial expertise and automation, applied to the burgeoning supply of open data and the increasing sophistication of distribution tools, RADAR (Reporters and Data Robots) will provide a major enhancement to the local digital news ecosystem.

"This will provide a significant boost to the local media industry at a time when budgets are under increasing pressure – but when the public’s interest in local news is as high as ever.

computer, desk, email

"Skilled human journalists will still be vital in the process, but RADAR allows us to harness artificial intelligence to scale up to a volume of local stories that would be impossible to provide manually."

So, there you have it. Are you on board with it?

However, she also addressed the miscarriage she previously suffered.

Writing an open letter in the publication, Melissa said: “I’m expecting my first child. [I’m] extremely overjoyed, but if [I’m] being honest, due to the fact that [I] had a miscarriage the last time [I] was pregnant, [I’m] pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again.”

She went on to say that she doesn't feel like telling anyone until the baby is safely out in the world, but doesn't want people to notice her baby bump and start talking.

"[I] feel weird even announcing this at all, and would rather wait until her child heads off to college to tell anyone, but [I] figure [I] should probably share this news before someone sees [me] waddling around with [my] mid-section protruding and announces it first.”

We're delighted for Melissa and hope that everything goes well throughout her pregnancy!

Around 80 strangers all came together after a family in Florida drifted out to sea.

Roberta Ursrey and her family were having a day out at Panama City Beach when she noticed that her sons were missing.

After looking around for her sons and their cousins, she heard them screaming from the water.

According to the Panama City News Herald, the boys were trapped by the current.

Roberta went to go into the water to save them, and while onlookers told her to stay on land, she didn't listen and went after her children.

However, shortly after entering the water, she too became trapped, along with five other family members who tried to save the boys.

One onlooker, Jessica Simmons, who was having dinner with her husband, saw the family struggle and at first thought people on the beach were pointing at a shark.

When she realised it was people stuck in the current, she found a discarded boogie board and began swimming out to save the family.

Jessica told the paper: “These people are not drowning today. It’s not happening. We are going to get them out.”

Meanwhile, Jessica's husband and some other people began a human chain, and within a few minutes 80 people were surrounding the trapped family.

The family were all safely brought back to land with the help of complete strangers.

Roberta's mother suffered a heart attack during the ordeal, while her nephew suffered a broken arm, however nobody else was hurt in the incident.

She told the publication: “I am so grateful. These people were God’s angels that were in the right place at the right time. I owe my life and my family’s life to them. Without them, we wouldn’t be here.”

Since launching last week, www.theskinnerd.com has received a phenomenal reaction with thousands seeking consults with Jennifer and her team of Nerdettes.

The virtual consultations involve a thorough process whereby clients fill in detailed questionnaires and provide high quality images of their skin before their appointment with a Nerdette is made.

The client is then prescribed their ideal skincare regime with products hand-picked from various results driven brands. These consultation slots have proved extremely popular and have already booked up until October.

“It has been a positively outrageous success to date. We have a waiting list of over 500 people and have had to hire three new Nerdettes to support demand. I’m honoured, thrilled and excited to be assisting people from all around the world – from the US and Canada to Australia and Europe” said Jennifer, in response to her amazing new venture.

Jennifer firmly believes that a key selling point of www.theskinnerd.com is the ‘Nerd Network’ which all clients become a part of following their virtual consult.

The ‘Nerd network’ offers exceptional after care service. Six weeks after a client has had their initial consultation, their Nerdette reconnects with them for a follow up appointment to make sure they are satisfied with their prescribed skincare regime and are achieving their desired results.

Have you ever heard of anything so gosh-darn convenient? No, you have not.

In a groundbreaking development, scientists in New Zealand have discovered they indirectly developed a vaccine which protects against gonorrhoea.

Between 2004 and 2006, approximately one million adolescents were given the vaccine which was originally developed to stop the outbreak of meningitis B.

Interestingly, after analysing data obtained from sexual health clinics, researchers at the University of Auckland established that cases of gonorrhoea had fallen 31 per cent in those who had been vaccinated, thereby proving that the Men B jab provided 'cross protection'.

A report into the findings stated: "Exposure to MeNZB was associated with reduced rates of gonorrhoea diagnosis, the first time a vaccine has shown any protection against gonorrhoea."

"These results provide a proof of principle that can inform prospective vaccine development not only for gonorrhoea but also for meningococcal vaccines."

With the sexually transmitted disease hitting the headlines for its apparent immunity to antibiotics, researchers are keen to highlight the significance of these findings.

"This is the first time a vaccine has shown any protection against gonorrhoea," Dr Helen Petousis-Harris said.

"At the moment, the mechanism behind this immune response is unknown, but our findings could inform future vaccine development."

The research has been published in the Lancet Journal.

Sorry if you had plans on October 27 – looks like you might have to reschedule.

If you're often mortified by the state of your office workspace, we're here to tell you that your messiness is actually a sign of intelligence and creativity.

According to researchers at the University of Minnesota, those who opt to work at a desk littered with papers and cups are often more creative, productive and precise.

Testing the hypothesis that there is value to be found in a chaotic workspace, researchers recruited participants and requested that they complete questionnaires in a variety of different work environments.

Some tended to the task in well-ordered office while others did so in a messy office, and findings indicated that those who completed the task in the messy offices came up with more creative and interesting ideas than those in the cleaner space.

Commenting on the findings, psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs said: "Prior work has found that a clean setting leads people to do good things: Not engage in crime, not litter, and show more generosity,” .

“We found, however, that you can get really valuable outcomes from being in a messy setting," she added. "Being in a messy room led to something that firms, industries, and societies want more of: Creativity."

And if you're wondering whether researchers have an insight into why a messy room sparks the imagination, they do.

"Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights,” Kathleen reasoned. "Orderly environments, in contrast, encourage convention and playing it safe."

The findings have been published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science.

Over the years, Rihanna has proved that her talents are not confined to her musical career.

From her debut role in the 2012 film Battleship to her recent cameo in Bates Motel, the 29-year-old has proved that she is just as capable on a movie set as she is on a live stage.

And it look like 2018 is set to be a big year for Rihanna's acting career with the release of Luc Besson's latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

On Sunday, the singer showed off a jet black pixie crop in a behind-the-scenes video in which she reveals how 'blessed' she feels to be part of the project.

The short clip shows RiRi's character, Bubble, a shape-shifting alien entertainer, in various costumes including a Chicago-inspired cabaret outfit.

Luc Besson, the film's director, described the singer as “super sweet” and “obviously not scared of the camera.”

And that's not the only praise the songstress has received.

In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, former model and Valerian co-star, Cara Delevigne spoke of how Ri was hilarious to work with.

“There was a moment where Luc was trying to make her cry, to be emotional,” she said.

“He was like, "Imagine that you get told that your song hasn't gone to number one and your performance is really bad". I knew she wasn't going to give a sh*t — that's not the way to get into her emotion. And she literally said, "You're kidding me? I couldn't care less." That was funny.”

While we do love a good RiRi tune or two, it looks like the Work singer is fully committed to her acting role for the time being.

Speaking in the video she said, “He's creating this incredible world. When I saw my name on the poster for Valerian, it got real. I'm so blessed to be having this experience.”

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets hits Irish cinemas on August 2, but for now, you can check out the trailer for the film below.
