We were given a lot of false hope over the past few weeks with the weather.

One day it was sunny, the next; wind and hail stones.

So, it's safe to say we've all been hoping for a bit of a scorcher to come our way soon.

Well, today could be our lucky day as Met Éireann believe it's going to be "brighter and sunnier."

There will be some outbreaks of rain today, but it's not looking like it'll stay.

"Some light showers will develop in northern parts of Ulster and Connacht. The best of any sunshine will be in Munster and south Leinster," the Met Éireann website reads.

"Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with light to moderate northwest breezes."

Thursday is looking good too, with sunny spells and a little bit of rain. "Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees with mostly light westerly breezes.

"Friday will be dry with sunny spells. There'll be a bit more cloud along Connacht and west Ulster coasts with a risk of a little drizzle at times. 

"Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees with light south to southwest breezes. It will be warmest in Leinster.

"Saturday will continue dry and mild with good sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with light southerly breezes."

We can't wait to see if this actually pans out!

Emma Doran at the Laughter Lounge

The hilarious Emma Doran is bringing her no-nonsense comedy to the Laughter Lounge this weekend, with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Emma started on the comedy circuit back in 2013 and has since gained quite the fan base with thanks to her much loved YouTube channel and appearances on RTE’s Republic of Telly.

Emma will be joined on the night by fellow comedians Damian Clark and Gar Murran so the laughs are sure to be had.

MusicTown 2017

Get ready for 10 days of concerts, master classes, workshops and discussions as MusicTown 2017 kicks of this Friday April 7. Now in its third year the event, which was founded by Dublin City Council, aims to explore and unify the vast range of music cultures that exist in the city.

Some highlights if this year’s festival include the first concert of the inaugural Dublin International Choral Festival, Craig David, John Prine and Bronagh Gallagher.

As horror films go, Get Out is up there with one of the best of the last decade.

Perfectly paced and thoroughly unsettling, Jordan Peele's depiction of the tension surrounding inter-racial relationships in the States ultimately gives way to an even darker, more horrifying narrative.

With a host of actors undoubtedly relishing the prospect of having an audience hold their breath through each unnerving on-screen exchange, Get Out reminds us that when our gut tells us something isn't quite right, we should probably listen.

Unlike other films of the same genre which often leave the viewer questioning the reactions and motivations of the lead character, Get Out perfectly taps into the individual's fear of rocking the boat or engendering ill will, and flawlessly places the viewer in the shoes of Chris – a young photographer meeting his new girlfriend's family for the first time.

While Chris becomes more and more unsettled by the conduct of the Armitage family, the compulsion to acquiesce dictates his initial reaction – a response many of us will have recognised.

It's not quite right, but is it wrong enough for me to leave? It's not quite right, but should I react?

As women, we’re advised to be on full alert at all times. Don’t walk home alone, don't wear your earphones after dark, don’t take shortcuts, don’t accept drinks from strangers, and don't put yourself in a vulnerable position.

Like meerkats, we’re meant to be able to spot danger from 50 feet and do our utmost to avoid it.

And as a result, we often find ourselves wondering if we have internalised this narrative to such a degree that we over-think our reactions to certain situations.

Considering most women reading this will have emerged unscathed from a situation which initially appeared threatening, it's hardly surprising we might find ourselves wondering if our exposure to the lifelong narrative has rendered us hyper sensitive

All of us have, at times, ignored our gut instinct for a variety of reasons in an attempt to rationalise our way out of an argument with our inner selves.

Is every stranger who walks a little too close to us on a dark evening a potential attacker? Is this guy's behaviour a warning sign? Are these nerves a warranted intimation or an ingrained reaction?

Obviously, each situation is unique, but if you find yourself asking these questions, your gut instinct has already kicked in.

And while it may not always be right, it is incredibly strong, and always worth listening to.

The fight to secure bodily autonomy for Irish women has not died down since the success of the Strike 4 Repeal.

This Friday, the Repeal Project is bringing together their supporters for a Gals Gig for Repeal, the second event of its kind.

The event, which will be held in the Grand Social, will feature the Repeal Project founder Anna Cosgrave as MC, and she will be ushering to the stage a range of wonderful acts. 

Musicians such as Orla Gartland, Girlfriend, Maija Sofia, Melina Malone, and Ruth Mac will be showcasing their musical prowess on the night. 

Clara Rose Thornton will be on stage to perform a spoken word piece, and Laura Byrne will be on hand to portray her comedic talents. 

The event will sit side-by-side with a popup exhibition on the theme of feminist resistance, which sounds amazing. 

The majority of proceeds from the €9.00 tickets will go to The Abortion Support Network.

The remainder will go towards the Eight Stories campaign, which is working to raise awareness for the campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite, and if your'e hoping to head along, note that this is a strictly over 18s event.

With Coachella just around the corner, we've been reminiscing about the ways we used attempt to sneak alcohol around a festival, unbeknownst to the crew guarding the main arenas.

Unsurprisingly, we opted for simpler methods such as cans in our hoods or the infamous crouching tiger hidden naggin method, which were often discovered after a quick pat down.

Since then, there have been some pretty inventive drink-smuggling methods created for those of us brave enough to sneak drink around the place, and we've rounded up a few of the most ridiculous.

 5. The banana flask

This banana flask may not be the most realistic thing we've ever seen, but if this was stashed at the bottom of your bag, those drink-checkers may just think you have a healthy snack on board to keep those crucial energy levels up.

4. The sneaky umbrella

This one is particularly devious, as who would even think to accuse the humble umbrella of liaising with the demon drink? 

The only problem is, this umbrella is not a functioning tool, so if you're at a rainy festival, you may have to forego your own brolly to avoid suspicion. 

3. In your camera… your fake camera.

A flask shaped like a camera has been invented, and it's pretty genius if you ask us.

The sneaky novelty flask would definitely get past security, as long as they didn't pick it up and discover that it's weirdly heavy and making a sloshing sound. 

2. The sneaky scarf

The infinity scarf may not be the trendiest fashion item in the world right now, but if that doesn't bother you then this flask could be for you. 

1. The tampons

A complete classic, the tampon flask utilises the worldwide fear of periods to its advantage by hosting vials of alcohol in individual tampon wrappers. 

We always have a few tampons rolling around our bags, so why shouldn't one or two be filled with wine?

Luckily, most Irish festivals allow booze in the campsites so we don't have to stoop to such extreme measures as some of our American counterparts, but these flasks would make a pretty great gift for the festival lover in your life.

A brand new documentary series kicked off on RTÉ One last night, chronicling Ireland's housing crisis.

With housing prices up 9 per cent nationally and up 10 per cent in the capital, according to The Irish Times, the documentary could not come at a more apt time. 

The first episode of the documentary series, entitled Ireland's Property Crisis, portrayed the realities of renting in the capital, the trials and tribulations faced by those in emergency accommodation, and the crippling weight of a decade-long mortgage on one young family. 

The first series of the documentary got a lot of people talking, and Twitter was full of Irish folk discussing the eye opening documentary. 

Outraged viewers had a few choice words to say about what they were seeing on their television screens. 

"There are marches for everything except homelessness. Simple answer, people don't care unless directly affected," said one. 

"More cranes . More bank debt. More properties. I've see this horror film before," said another.

"What people have to go through for the basic right of having a roof over your head is so scary, the future looks bleak," tweeted another concerned viewer. 

People were especially outraged at the unfairness of the emergency bed system, which requires that users of the service call up every day in order to secure a bed for the night.

It’s been five years since The Killers released their last album Battle Born, but the wait for new music may finally be over!

According to NME the band have been working on a new album since last September with none other than U2 producer Jacknife Lee, and have revealed that the band are ‘nearly there’ with their latest instalment.

Speaking to the magazine backstage before their set at the Pa’l Norte festival in Mexico, drummer Ronnie Vannucci revealed that the band had struggled to reinvent themselves.

“We have a problem with taking two steps forward and one step back, so that makes it take longer. We keep asking ourselves: ‘What does a four- piece band do? How do you keep it fresh?’ It’s a constant exercise in experimentation.”

Fans can expect to hear a different side to the band with front man Brandon Flowers saying the new songs were ‘the heaviest thing they’ve ever done‘.

The lads also confirmed they would be performing some of the new material at their upcoming headline show at London’s Hyde Park where they’ll be joined by the likes of Elbow, Tears For Fears and White Lies.

So, if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket, get ready for a sneaky preview of what’s to come!

Heading off for a long weekend with your best friends is one of the greatest things to do, especially if you haven't seen them all for a while.

However, deciding on the location for your trip can have the WhatsApp group chat hopping for weeks on end, and deciding on a destination is never easy. 

Luckily, we at the SHEmazing! offices have had a little think about some of the most entertaining trips we've been on with our girlfriends, and have compiled a list of the top five places we definitely recommend. 

5. Krakow

While having the craic in Krakow may become a running joke, the diverse Polish city has much more to offer than cheap vodka and infinite pretzel vendors.

The historically rich city has plenty of daytime activities to embark on, from walking tours of the entire town to visiting the Rynek Underground Museum to see the skeletons of vampires which were dug up in the town's famous square. 

The night life is also on point, with a mix of hidden Polish taverns, all-you-can-drink bars and glamorous night clubs. 

4. Berlin

Berlin has become a popular tourist spot for Irish adventurers, thanks to the eclectic food, Bauhaus architecture and poignant history of the city.

Sights like the Berlin Wall and the Jewish History Museum are must-sees by day, and by night the city reveals an unbeatable clubbing scene.

Spots like Tresor, The Matrix, Suicide Circus and Kitty Chengs are high on the list.

3. Newcastle

If you're not looking to stray too far from home and a partying is all that's on the agenda, Newcastle is the spot.

The shopping is pretty good if you can drag yourself from your hangover bed, and the night life is, as documented on Geordie Shore, completely insane. 

Tup Tup Palace, Florita's and Madame Koo's are all up there in terms of atmosphere and general craziness.

2. Paris

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, but it doesn't often get the credit it deserves for its night life.

The city has breathtaking sites to see by day, including the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées and of course, the Eiffel Tower. 

By night, the city plays host to a menagerie of outdoor bars, rooftop parties, skyline view restaurants and wild nightclubs. 

1. Greece

Greece is a renowned set of party islands, and the sun-soaked destination has been attracting party-seekers for decades. 

Laganas on the island of Zante is one of the biggest resorts in the country, along with Mykonos and Malia. 

Prepare for vast vats of cocktails and lots of luminous paint.

80,000 tickets sold out last December after Guns n’ Roses were announced as this year’s headline act, and today the full line-up is finally here.

Royal Blood, Mark Lanegan and  Otherkin will join the 80s rockers at the legendary Co. Meath venue on May 27.
