To think that Calvin Harris and his former love Taylor Swift always seemed so perfectly in love.

But it seems the whole experience of dating one of the world's most famous women has put the Scottish DJ off celebrities for life.

That and he reckons the Trouble singer-songwriter – slim, blonde and tall – was never his type anyway.

In fact, sources close to him exclusively told TMZ that the 32-year-old is now after the polar opposite of Ms Swift: think a sultry, curvy brunette.

The juicy deets? Well, they reckon that Calvin believes celebs are a narcissistic bunch, and all he wants is a normal girl. As for his type, he's thinking sexy Latina… a Sophia Vergara who is NOT famous.

The friends add that Mr Harris can't believe Tay-Tay dumped him so soon after his car accident.

He also says, according to the same sources, that the 26-year-old megastar was so obsessed with her life and career she felt put out whenever he had plans that conflicted with what she wanted him to do.

So there you go!

We await Ms Swift's response…

Sweet potatoes are a total kitchen staple for most of us, but did you know a little creative thinking when slicing your next yam will guarantee you a place in your dog's good books for life?!

As any dog owner will know, your pooch is ALL about the chewing.

From chowing down on your favourite shoes to gnawing on the straps of your handbag, those dogs of ours have a serious issue when it comes to keeping their jaws busy, but your accessories no longer have to suffer.

Spotted on Little Things this week, this sweet potato remedy for your dog's endless chewing is exactly what you (and they) have been looking for.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Slice off the pointed ends of the sweet potato and then slice the potato lengthwise into about 1/2 inch slices

2. Lay the slices onto a baking sheet.

3. Bake for 3 hours at 250 °F.

4. Remove from oven and let cool thoroughly before giving you dog an absolute field day.

The results of last week's gin and tonic festival are in and it turns out the best place in Ireland to enjoy your G&T is Davy Mac's bar in Waterford City.

Over 100 venues took part in Great Irish Beverages' nationwide search for the best gin and tonic which required each bar to design their own signature drink.

Davy Mac’s – which opened last Christmas – won the public vote with their Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin and Elderflower Fever Tree Tonic.  Wow!

The bar's gin of choice, Drumshanbo, is distilled by hand at The Shed Distillery in County Leitrim.

Not only is Drumshanbo Connaught's first gin, it's also only been on the market for eight weeks.

Since Davy Mac's serves 60 types of gin and is now officially the best place for a G&T in Ireland we think we could be tempted to Waterford.

Whether it's a summer camping trip, a weekend spent at a music festival or even a poolside holiday, if you're all about getting your flake on you know how difficult it can be to get comfy on these occasions.

A deflated air mattress, a bandy old camping chair and a sun lounger which has seen better days is not the key to the perfect summer chill-out session which is why we're falling all over ourselves after clapping eyes on the LayBag.

We might have missed out on progressing to the next stage of Euros 2016, but the Republic still have a lot to celebrate despite our devastating loss to France on Sunday afternoon.

While we all know our fellow countrymen did us proud while supporting the boys in green across the pond, it looks like some people are very eager to make it OFFICIAL.

According to emerging reports, the Mayor of Paris has announced that she will be awarding the Medal of the City of Paris to the Republic of Ireland football fans for their sportsmanship throughout the football tournament.

From changing tyres to singing lullabyes, the Irish fans endeared them to local residents and the wider world as they cheered on the Republic of Ireland team in recent weeks, and now we'll have a medal to prove how sound we are.

Mayor Anne Hidalgo said our nation's supporters have been "exemplary in their sportsmanship" and helped create an atmosphere that set them apart from other fans in France this summer.

It is understood that Mayor Hidalgo will be writing to President Higgins to inform him of her decision to bestow the Grand Vermeil – a truly prestigious honour – on the Republic's football fans.

Aw, what a way to top off the tournament!

Ah the Internet – providing us with so many cat videos we could spend our lives distracted and answering life’s most mind-boggling questions.

Finally one web hero has taken it upon themselves to expand the boundaries of our brains by giving us the answer to one such question and explaining what that random hole in the centre of spaghetti spoons is actually for.

And Imgur user PolarChi really outdid themselves with this one as not only have they solved the spaghetti spoon problem, they’ve also prevented us from wasting years more pasta in the process.

It turns out that hole equals exactly one portion of uncooked spaghetti so from now instead of taking a guess at how much a portion could be – and accidentally cooking a bucket-load for one – you can measure the perfect amount with the very spoon you’ll use to serve it.

Did you know, that the hole in your spaghetti spoon holds the recommended portion for one serving size of spaghetti.

Genius!

Taylor Swift has never shied away from acknowledging that her turbulent love life is prime fodder for chat show hosts and stand-up comedians who appear fascinated by the fact the 26-year-old has – shock, horror – yet to settle down, get married and start a family.

And while the 'Taylor – Serial Dater' jokes fell by the wayside while she was dating Calvin Harris, it looks like they've come back ten-fold since she began getting cosy with Tom Hiddleston, and it doesn't look like U.S chat show host Wendy Williams is overly impressed.

Commenting on the unlikely new union, Wendy suggested that Taylor should be less open about her new relationship, beginning: "Apparently, they're getting serious."

"I know, it's only been three weeks. She's 26 – that's old enough to understand, like, you don't show your feelings on your sleeve in three weeks, you know," she added.

While we all know Tay's ex, Calvin, was less than impressed that the Bad Blood singer had already met Tom's mum when she reportedly refused to meet his, Wendy was more concerned that Taylor had introduced Tom to her own parents.

Suggesting that she'd send her parents into overdrive with the implications of her new romance, Wendy continued: "This is not good. First of all, you don't want your parents counting your number."

"And honey child … what you don't understand, whether you're a man or a woman – every time you bring someone home – your parents are like, 'That's number three," she opined while her audience laughed at the notion that Taylor had hired paps to take snaps of herself and Tom kissing at her home in Rhode Island.

And Taylor wasn't the only one in Wendy's firing line, with the popular host calling 35-year-old Tom 'opportunistic' for getting into a relationship with Taylor.

Jeez Wendy, how dya really feel?!

Just after 8pm GMT last night, three bombs were detonated in the arrivals hall of Istanbul's Ataturk airport.

According to multiple news reports, three suicide bombers began firing on the crowds outside Europe's third busiest airport, before blowing themselves up.

ISIS are expected to be responsible for these heinous attacks, although there has been no confirmation of this as of yet.

Up to 36 people are expected to be dead, along with over 150 injured, most of whom are Turkish natives.

Paul Roos, a South African native was present during the attacks. Mr Roos,77, recalls seeing one of the attackers 'randomly shooting' in the departures hall.

The witness went on to state that "he was just firing at anyone coming in front of him.He was wearing all black. His face was not masked. I was 50 metres away from him."

This attack on Ataturk airport is one of the deadliest in a series of terrorist attacks to hit Turkey, who are struggling to contain the conflict in their neighbouring country of Syria.

Turkey has been faced with a number of violent attacks this year, which included two suicide bomb attacks in busy tourist areas of Istanbul.

In a statement, Turkey's President  Tayyip Erdogan said "The attack, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan, shows that terrorism strikes with no regard for faith and values."

"The bombs that exploded in Istanbul today could have gone off at any airport in any city around the world" he went on to say.

Turkish Airlines are the official partners of the UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament, currently being held in France.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this attack.

Just because it’s your wedding day, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed time off – at least that’s what Pennsylvanian nurse Julie Stroyne learned on her big day.

According to People, the 24-year-old trauma nurse was outside her reception venue just hours after walking down the aisle when she came across an unconscious woman.

Julie immediately leapt into action and began performing CPR on the woman – all the while wearing her wedding dress – until the paramedics arrived.

The bride told ABC: “To be honest I don’t remember running. I just threw my purse and my flowers and just went into action.”

“[Her pulse] got stronger as I kept feeling for it which was a good sign. Her respirations were very shallow but I think the action of me giving compressions kind of woke her up.”

“All I have to say is, thank goodness I had one champagne with the toast and that’s it.”

“I didn’t drink at all. Thank goodness I was able to help.”

Julie’s mother told People that she wasn't surprised by her daughter's actions and said "she picked the right calling".

The newlyweds are now holidaying in the UK before completing their honeymoon with a trip to Greece.

After all that, we think their break very well deserved.

For most of us, break-ups and Adele albums go hand-in-hand, but what does the queen of splitsville soundtracks listen to when she herself is going through a break-up?

While we'd like to imagine her tearfully wailing Someone Like You while trawling through his Facebook page, the singer (obvs) steers clear of her own back catalogue.

Speaking to People magazine about her own personal process, the 28-year-old Londoner – who is currently in a happy relationship with the father of her child – said: "I mope around for a little while. I do embrace the fact that I'm heartbroken. I don't move quickly,"

Adele explained that she relies on Bonnie Raitt's Can't Make You Love Me, Mumford and Sons' After the Storm, David Gray's This Year's Love and Katy Perry's Not Like The Movies to navigate those tricky weeks and months post-break up.

And while the rest of us make bad decisions regarding alcohol, ice cream and other men in the aftermath, Adele can generally make a positive from a negative during this time. (Hello, multiple Grammy awards)

Commenting on this talent, the When We Were Young singer simply said: "I don't know if that's because it seems that I'm only really creative when I'm a bit momentarily depressed."

All we get out of a break-up is a hatred for certain restaurants and an attachment to a football team we thought we despised.

Let's be honest, Euros 2016 was an absolute feels-fest.

From the Irish fans consistently doing the Republic proud abroad to the our new national treasure, Robbie Brady, sending the country into a tailspin multiple times over the course of the tournament, Euros 2016 was one seriously epic adventure.

Unfortunately, it came to an end for our boys in green on Sunday after they lost out to France in a match which gripped the nation last weekend.

But it's not all doom and gloom for our national heroes as a video which Shane Long's wife, Kayleigh, uploaded to Instagram clearly proves this morning.

After filming and sharing the moment Shane was reunited with his two daughters. six-year-old Teigan and two-year-old Erin, Kayleigh wrote: "The moment the girls got reunited with their daddy last night after we had just landed also! They had no idea!"

The video which has clocked up a whopping 13,000 views since its upload last night has been inundated with comments and well wishes to the Irish player and his family.

"Adorable, your girls are too cute!" wrote one of Kayleigh's followers. "Well done to Shane and the rest of the team did Ireland so proud."

Shane took to Twitter to share the same video, writing: "What a welcome home! Its been an amazing 5 weeks, but missed these little beauties!"

Ladies, we're struggling here!

It’s no secret that Katie Taylor is made of tough stuff and the boxing champion proved she’s not about to go soft any time soon when she used Twitter yesterday to deliver a rather harsh message.

As the world's Olympic golf hopefuls continue to drop out of the upcoming Rio games over fears surrounding the zika virus, Katie took to social media to give her opinion on the situation.

She wrote: “Another one bites the dust. I wonder what excuse the golfers would of made if there was no virus.”

Attached to the tweet was a link to Australian golfer Jason Day’s dropout statement.

Katie’s tweet came just after Day’s announcement and shortly before Shane Lowry added his name to the list of golfers – which already included Rory McIlroy – who will not be putting themselves forward for Olympic selection.

The golfers are concerned that the zika virus could potentially affect their families who would intend on travelling to Rio should they participate in the Olympics.

But no matter how many golfers drop out at least we know Katie will be there in fighting form.
