Grey's Anatomy is showing so signs of slacking in it's 11th series, as they have a new addition to the long running show.

Oscar winning actress Geena Davis will be joining the cast in the next series as a new surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital. She is reported to have an important storyline arc in the upcoming season.

Geena won her Oscar back in 1989 for Best Supporting Actress in the film The Accidental Tourist. She is most famous however for her roles in Thelma and Louise opposite Susan Sarandon, and as President Mackenzie Allen in Commander in Chief.

Other big news for series 11 (spoiler alert!) includes the rumours of marriage troubles for Meredith McDreamy, with some speculation of a divorce for the on-screen couple.

Producers have said that the upcoming series will focus heavily on Meredith, which may give weight to the rumours.

”It’s really a Meredith-centric season,” says Shonda Rhimes, creator of Grey’s Anatomy. “There’s a lot of growth. She’s lost her person. Her sister has showed up. Her husband is chafing to go someplace else."

"She’s got all these things going on. … But for me right now, it feels like it’s Meredith. I’m feeling her more acutely because she’s lost her person.”

Actor Michael Cera, famous for his roles in Arrested Development, Scott Pilgrim, Superbad and a hundred other great films, has released a surprise album.

The album, titled True That, was released on BandCamp this week and amazingly, isn't terrible. It's 18 tracks long and gives the charmingly sparse bio: “Michael Cera was born in Canada in 1988 at the tender age of zero." It's free to stream, or you can buy the album online for $7.

This isn't Michael's first try at the music biz, he's played bass for the supergroup Mister Heavenly, and played the mandolin for Weezer's 2010 album Hurley.

Speaking about his debut album, Michael seems embarrassed more than anything else.

"I didn't want anyone to take it seriously or think that I was taking it seriously by it being a big thing."

"It's there now. Now people can hear the stuff I've spent time with and care about for a long time."

The star of Sherlock and The Hobbit, Martin Freeman has apparently been banned from Twitter – by his wife.

Martin's wife, actress Amanda Abbington who also plays his wife Mary on the series, says that he would share too many unpopular opinions on the social media site.

“He will never tweet,’ says Amanda. “He would destroy his reputation.”

“He’d say something he regrets. He says things he regrets every day at home and I say, “That, right there, is why you can’t do Twitter!”

“He is very vocal about stuff so we have to be careful.”

WARNING: This is not for the faint of heart.

Katy Perry decided to get her nose pierced and, being Katy Perry, decided to share the video on Instagram for our viewing, er… pleasure?

This apparently isn't Katy's first taste of the needle, as in the video's caption she recounts that the first time her nose was pierced, she did it herself, age 13, with a safety pin.

"Last time I did this I was on my own with a safety pin & cube of ice @ 13. This time I thought it was best I left it to the pro's. Sorry mom (again)"

We feel a bit sick now.

For the second time in a year, 17-year-old Kylie Jenner has crashed her car, destroying a brand new Range Rover. She claims it wasn't her fault this time, as a woman who got cut off in traffic swerved into her.

Thankfully no one was injured, but this is the latest in a series of accidents and tickets in the reality star's very short driving career.

She crashed her first car last August, an $125,000 SUV, just 18 days after she got her driving licence. That time she caused a three-car-crash when she rear ended someone, slamming them into the car in front.

She has also received two tickets this year, one for speeding and one for having tinted windows and driving with a teenager – not allowed for minors.

We don't know if they have a points system in the States but Kylie must be pretty close to being taken off the road at this stage. And er… maybe that would be better for everyone.

Cheryl Cole didn’t always want to be a singer, in fact the newly Mrs. Fernandez-Versini actually wanted to be a ballet dancer and even made it to the Royal Ballet summer school.

However, it was here that her dreams were squashed when she felt a bit of an outcast due to her social standing.

Taking up ballet at the tender age of three, Cheryl admits she always wanted to be a ballerina but it all changed when she attended the prestigious school.

Talking about to The Times Magazine, Cheryl said: "And then I went to the Royal Ballet [summer school] when I was 9 or 10. Hated it. Squashed the dream. It wasn't me. I didn't fit in. I had to be sponsored to go there because me parents couldn't afford to send us there, and everyone else was – obviously… Basically I was a bit of an outcast."

Cheryl thinks her social standing played a part in feeling different from other pupils. "It was the first time I'd ever felt… class. I didn't know what it was. Everyone around was normal to me. There was this thing, and we were all on the same level… 

She added: "I didn't understand it. I just knew it was… different. And that they were… looking down their noses. If you like. But I couldn't express it. ‘I was out of place. I think about 9-year-old me, and I think, "That must have been hard."

Aw, we can image a little Cheryl telling her parents that she no longer wanted to pursue her dream. How sad. Although her decision to focus in on her singing has certainly paid off!

Cara Delevingne is everywhere you look, and it seems the model is not about to go anywhere any time soon. In fact, the 22-year-old is about to hit the big time as she has been tipped to be the next Bond Girl.

After she let it slip – by accident we’re sure – that she would love to star alongside Daniel Craig, she has been approached by producers.

If she does manage to secure her sought-after role, it wouldn’t be the first time she has hit the big screen. She is currently filming with Hugh Jackman, nonetheless, for Peter Pan and already starred alongside Kiera Knightly in Anna Karenina.

According to a source: "Cara hinted she would love to be involved, but the makers of Bond had already started considering her as somebody they would be interested in.”

They added: "There would be a real buzz about getting her involved and the signs are all good. Everybody is excited.”

And we are very excited as well! Go, Cara!

Breakups are hard we all know that, but while seeking revenge might seem like the best option, it’s not particularly nice. A fact that this Gumtree user might have overlooked.

Obviously in love the man bought a bike because his girlfriend was a cyclist enthusiast. However, after she dumped him, the seller took to the buy and sell site to try and get rid of it, as you do.

He wrote under his ad: "Bought this bike because my girlfriend was into cycling. She dumped me and I hate cycling. I've used it twice since I bought it. Apparently it's quite a good bike." 

But, and there is always a but in these instances, that is not all he tried to flog, writing: "I'll throw some size 9 specialised shoes for measure along with the ex's phone number".

If he is going to be this mean about a breakup, maybe she was right to end the relationship…

There have been reports that the late Robin William’s memorial service is being held today in Tiburon, California.

According to sources, the service “will be small” as both Robin and Susan were “both very private people”.

So, we thought it fitting to share this touching poem written by Jim Meskimen who has been the voice of the Genie in Aladdin in a number of video games since 2008. Williams was the one who brought the Genie to life in the original making of the Disney film.

To honour the memory of such a talented man and to decide whether he would continue to voice the Disney character, Jim “decided to write this poem, to work it out for [himself], and to answer the question.”

Sit down with a cup of tea and have a listen to the beautiful piece.

A mum and daughter in San Diego had no choice but to call the police after they were held hostage by their – wait for it – cat. Yes CAT!

The unusual incident started when one of the women got up in the middle of the night and it was then Cuppy decided to strike.

The poor woman, who has had the feline for 14 years, was held captive for hours and couldn’t escape the clutches of the terrifying cat who kept launching vicious attacks. When the second family member came to their aid, they too became trapped.

Finally, they were forced to call the police but even they struggled to catch it.

However, obviously having had enough for one day, Cuppy simply walked away from the scene. 

A neighbour described the cat as being a “ball of fury” and we can kind of see where she got the name from.

You can’t help but laugh at this poor unfortunate guy!

A grown man has gone and gotten himself stuck in a highchair and the ensuing video is amazing!

As you will see in the video, the lad obviously thought it would be funny to get into an infant’s highchair, until he tried to get out that is!

Finding himself stuck, his mates tried to help free him even dragging him along the ground to try and release him, but to no avail. 

One finally concludes: “I’m sorry mate you’re stuck – that is how you will stay.”

Hilarious!
