Suicide Squad

DC fans have woken up to a MASSIVE treat, thanks to the gift that is Margot Robbie.

The Suicide Squad star has posted the first look at Harley Quinn in the new flick, Birds of Prey. She's sporting the character's icy blonde hair, only shorter with a sharp fringe, with her classic bright red lips.

She uploaded the stunning selfie to her Instagram, cheekily captioning it: "Miss me?" Um, YAS.

We're also drooling over that tassled jacket she's wearing, which is sure to spawn a load of knock-off versions. Knock-off versions that we will obviously be buying…

It's a definite change compared to the pink and blue-haired, baseball bat wielding Harley that we know and love, but we're going to embrace the change.

The 28-year-old actress shared the lewk from the solo film set, which is set to produce the film for a 2020 release.

In the newest flick, Harley Quinn will join forces with Black Canary and Huntress to save the life of Cassandra Cain from Gotham City crime lord, Black Mask.

We're also ADORING the fact that the movie has a female director- Cathy Yan. The look is definitely Japanese-inspired, but we're here for it. Gwen Stefani also has a clear influence, style icon that she is.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is playing the role of Huntress, and Jurnee Smollett is acting as Black Canary, so it's a female-centred plot THANK GOD. Jared Leto took way too much credit away from Robbie in the last outing.

Harley deserves far more attention, she's an absolute BO$$.

Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie are hitting international screens in their roles as Queen Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots.

The 24-year-old Irish actress has just opened up about the hugely emotional experience of finally coming face-to-face with co-star Margot Robbie in costume.

Ronan was candid while visiting The Graham Norton Show, explaining that the duo were kept apart for weeks while they settled into their roles in the flick, Mary, Queen of Scots.

The actress explained: "Mary and Elizabeth never actually met so we took a bit of artistic license and lied about what really happened."

"We only met once in the film and because of that Margot and I stayed apart so we didn't know what each other looked like. When we finally met for the scene we cried. It was very emotional," she continued.

The Lady Bird actress also spoke about her time working with animals on the set of the period piece, which proved challenging.

"The horse I had to ride had starred with Wonder Woman and was very good looking and he knew it," she said. "He just wouldn't do anything, he wouldn't move."

"Then I realised that every time someone shouted 'rolling' he would do a little cough. He was actually nervous!" she added.

Ronan plays the titular Mary, who was Queen of France at just 16 and widowed at 18, and defied pressure to remarry and returns to her native Scotland to try and take the throne.

But Scotland and England fall under the rule of her cousin Elizabeth I, who was played by Margot Robbie.

Speaking of the relationship between Mary and Elizabeth on ITV's This Morning, Ronan said;

"Elizabeth, is this shell of her former self – she’s completely not human, Mary is bloody and dirty, it’s two women meeting who have been pushed to the very limit."

"We asked for it (the separation), it was a cool experiment to stay apart, we didn't know what the other person looked like… we were revealed to each other the shock of seeing the visual of what they looked like," she continued.

"How we felt as actors after three weeks of being kept apart was how Mary and Elizabeth would have felt, it gave us so much adrenaline and emotion."

Despite being one of the most talked about movies of the year, Suicide Squad inevitably garnered what could best be described as a mixed reaction.

But one thing even the film’s harshest critics can agree on is that Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the Joker’s girlfriend Harley Quinn was pretty much spot on.

While it’s still very early days, The Independent has reported that Ms Robbie has signed a deal with Warner Bros which could see her take on an executive producer role for a Harley Quinn movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Harley Quinn solo film would work well with Warner Bros renewed commitment to female-focused storytelling, which has already led the studio towards producing Wonder Woman and Ocean’s Ocho.

While we're sure it'll be a while before the colourful character appears on our screens again, we're already excited to find out what Harley does next.

Cara Delevingne has been extremely busy lately. Along with promoting Suicide Squad, the actress has also made a comeback to modelling, and recently shot for Vogue.

However, Cara has revealed that she needed some time off from the world of social media, and took two weeks out, which she encourages everyone to do.

The blonde beauty shared a snap of her climbing out of a pool, wearing a simple black bikini and looking totally relaxed.

She captioned the photo: "My Instagram holiday is over… I was taking some much needed time away from my phone which I advise everyone to do at some point.

"Hope you are all enjoying your holidays," she added.

Minutes later, she shared a clip of her new movie Kids in Love:

So, it doesn't exactly sound like the Suicide Squad cast fully nailed it in the performance stakes, but when it came to the aesthetic for the highly-anticipated superhero flick, it looks like those guys gave it their all.

Having to share the vast majority of her screen-time with a pair of miniscule hot pants, Margot Robbie dedicated herself to a work-out regime which anyone can recreate…as long as they have three hours a day to spare.

According to Margot's trainer, Andie Hecker, in the run-up to a scene which shows her in little more than a bra and fishnets, the Aussie actress exercised for a staggering three hours per day.

Opting for a Pilates-based routine as opposed to high-intensity interval training, Margot worked herself into the shape which has gotten movie-goers talking since the first sneak peeks of the film leaked earlier this year.

In addition to incorporating extra reps into a standard Pilates routine, Margot's trainer also included swimming sessions as well as a ballet-inspired jumping circuit which saw Margot perform ballet jumps, jump rope, and make use of a rebounder trampoline.

Acknowledging that the actress was not required to prioritise any one body part over another, Andie told Cosmopolitan: "It was very important to me to keep her regiment well-rounded in order to condition the entire body and not overwork any one muscle group."

Between Margot's regime and Gigi Hadid's dedication to the gym mat, we can just FEEL our motivation increasing…well, ya know, kinda.

In what will probably be one of the best movies this year, Warner Bros and DC Comics have released the second official trailer for Suicide Squad.

The first one debuted at the San Diego Comic Con last July, and now six months later, we get a sneak peak to what the story, and the characters are all about.

Prepare for some bad-ass acting by Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevinge, as this is one movie that is not to be missed.

Sooo… Should we buy are tickets already?

Up until now, Jared Leto has stolen most of the limelight for his creepy Suicide Squad costume. He shocked the Internet with the scary Joker get-up and majorly morphed into someone we wouldn't even recognise.

Yes, it seems that no one could look more horrifying than Jared, but now Cara Delevingne stepped into the game and debuted her movie look last night.

Ms Delevingne – who plays Enchantress in the film – went through a HUGE make-over for the movie.

The first image of Cara in her supervillian look has just been unveiled on Empire's latest magazine cover… and let us tell you, it is truly something:

Basically the stuff of nightmares, Ms Delevingne is seen covered in a rusty grey hue, with black hair, terrifying make-up, chains and mysterious tattoos.

We don't know about you, but we think Suicide Squad is going to be one seriously freaky movie. We'll just have to wait and see what the other supervillians will look like now.

Cara Delevigne has never been one to hold back when she has something to say.

So when Time magazine caught up with the actress while she was on the set of Paper Towns, she had a lot to say.

She spoke about how difficult to get serious roles in film as people in the industry don’t recognise her as a serious actress. She also talked about how different she finds acting from modelling.

Most importantly, she commented on the hate that she receives from time to time.

The 22-year old will star in the highly anticipated DC film Suicide Squad, to be released next year. There were many fans of the franchise however who didn’t think she deserved the role.

"If anyone just thought I was trying to pad my resume, they can suck my"—she stopped to consider her word choice—"boobs."

Nice, Cara.

While she is probably one of the fashion industry’s more quirky characters (or have you not seen her onesie collection?), she says she takes her acting very seriously:

"I take what roles I do very seriously. I always want to portray a strong female.”

Not surprising seeing as the star has always stood up for herself and what she believes in as of late.

She has not only spoken out about her acting career, but a recent Vogue cover article has also sparked some controversy for the former Burberry model.

Speaking to the New York Times, Cara said that, in case anyone misunderstood, “my sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am.”

The Vogue article had led to an online petition that protested the suggestion of Cara’s sexuality being a phase.

The Paper Towns actress has been quick to stop people from speculating about her personal life and while she found the online protest “flattering”, she didn’t think there was anything “malicious” in the article itself.

From Jack Nicholson to the late Heath Ledger, there have been some incredibly memorable performances of infamous Batman villain The Joker, but it looks as if Jared Leto might be about to take the character to another level.

That is, if the first official photo of him from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie is anything to go by.

The movie’s writer, David Ayer, took to social media this weekend to share the first sneak peek at what we can expect from Leto as The Joker, and it is everything we hoped for and feared.

“The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr J!” wrote Ayer, posting a photo of a near-unrecognisable Leto with Joker’s trademark green hair and purple glove.

Inked-up with ‘ha ha ha’ tattoos, with ‘damaged’ emblazoned across his forehead, it’s the Oscar-winning actor’s crazed expression that has sent chills down our spines today.

Suicide Squad is set for release in August of next year and features a stellar cast of Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Leto.

If this first look at The Joker is anything to go by, this movie is going to be pretty epic.
