A career change could be on the cards for Selena Gomez, who has just secured an 'Executive Producer' role on a pretty huge project.

The actress and singer has gone behind the camera to create a new TV series which has just been picked up by Netflix for 13 episodes.

Selena's show, 13 Reasons Why, is based on Jay Asher's book of the same name, and although Selena will not star she will be heavily involved with bringing the book to life.

The book was originally picked up by Universal as a film with Selena in the lead role, but the plan has changed somewhat since then.

Posting a picture of her "team" yesterday, Selena admitted she was "freaking out" by the admittedly huge news.

13 Reasons Why is about a high-school student named Hannah Baker who commits suicide and leaves behind a number of cassette tapes explaining what lead her to take her life.

Using the tapes, Hannah explains to twelve of her classmates how their actions each played a role in her death. Sounds sinister, but we're hooked already.

It's no surprise that Selena's not committing to the TV show, as her plate is pretty full these days.

As well as recently releasing her new album Revivial, the 23-year-old has just wrapped work on four films – In Dubious Battle, directed by James Franco; The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving, also starring Paul Rudd; The Big Short alongside Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale; and Seth Rogen’s Neighbours 2.

A top Hollywood makeup artist has been found dead, with the high-profile names he worked with taking to social media in the aftermath to pay their respects.

Jake Bailey was found yesterday by his assistant slumped over the wheel of his SUV. He had taken his own life.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has already confirmed that 37-year-old Mr Bailey was found dead at 8.25am on Friday and that he appeared to have suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning in an apparent suicide.

A postmortem will confirm the cause of death later in the week.

Jake's talents were called upon for red-carpet events, shoots, and music videos by the likes of Katy Perry, Paris Hilton, and Selena Gomez.

I know sometimes it was hard to find consistent happiness here on this earth, I understand you in that way. I want you to know now finally and forevermore that I appreciate you and all the lessons we traded each other in this life. I love you. No more work, no more searching, you are finally at peace. He was particularly close to Ms Perry, who used him for several high-profile glossy magazine shoots – including her September 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan.

The 31-year-old musician earlier left a lengthy tribute to Jake's "sweet, sensitive soul" on her Instagram page.

She added: "My favorite moments of recent times is when we would meditate together during breaks on different jobs… tune all the noise out, forget about Hollywood and the chaos that surrounds it, and look for a slice of peace, 20 minutes at a time."

And Paris Hilton in her tribute had called him "an amazing person, an incredibly talented makeup artist and friend".

The 34-year-old added: "He was my makeup artist for the past 15 years. We travelled the world together, worked on so many beautiful projects and shared so many memories. Will miss him so much."

A neighbour who lived beside Jake on Holly Drive in Hollywood told Mail Online: "His assistant had showed up with coffee for him and then we heard yelling and screaming and a car alarm going off, so my wife ran out."

They added: "They had called 911 and did everything they could until help arrived, but it was too late. The assistant was really shaken up."

At 24, Selena Gomez already owns two homes in California… but we'd be more than willing to take one of them off her hands.

The actress recently redecorated her five-bedroom pad in Hollywood's Hidden Hills, and the results are pretty breathtaking.

The star, who also has a €2m LA pad, purchased the new larger estate last year.

From a stunning tiled courtyard with wrought iron chairs and a candle-laden dining table, to furniture upholstered with the music to her favourite songs, Selena's new home is totally personal.

The young actress enlisted the help of interior designer Brittaney Elise to help bring her bohemian chic vision to life.

Brittany admits Selena was an easy client to work for, though she had one unmoveable demand – "a baby grand piano in her living room", of course.

The rest, though, was a blank canvas, but Brittaney says she and Selena worked well together.

"​She knew exactly what she wanted and trusted my visions from day one," the designer says.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber shocked fans last night by releasing a song about their relationship – but deleted it hours later. 

The song literally came out of nowhere on Drake's OVO sound radio show. Titled Strong, the duet is a reference to their famous on-again-off-again relationship.

Although the two are no longer together, the lyrics certainly tell of a complicated past as a couple in the spotlight. 

"What should I do? Should I go? Who do I talk to? Nobody knows," sings Bieber. 

Later Selena sings, "Wishing I was better at this damn thing 'cause it's just been too long and I can't change."

It is still unknown if the release was deliberate as it was only briefly accessible before it disappeared.

The Daily Mail reported that the duo have been planning the collaboration for some time now as they felt it would be therapeutic.

Selena recently released her latest Album, Revival, on which her single Good For You shot to number five on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, Justin has been teasing his upcoming album, Purpose, which is set to be released on November 13.

Have you ever been jealous of Selena Gomez's long, shiny and bouncy hair? Because we have!

In fact, it's so shampoo-advert perfect, she's actually modelled in shampoo campaigns.

Now, most celebrities would never admit to having extensions or weaves – but Selena is honest about hers and shrugs it off as no big deal.

The Revival singer was hanging out with YouTuber Lilly Singh to film a cute Newly Friend Game video, when she mentioned the story behind her long, dark hair.

Selena complimented Lilly on her "humour and heart," which then prompted a sweet conversation.

"That's like a real compliment," Lilly said. "It's not about my hair. That's the first time a compliment isn't about my hair."

"You do have beautiful hair," Selena responded.

"Yeah, and by the way, it's not fake. Can you just pull this real quick?" Lilly asked, leaning in so Selena can check her waist-length locks.

"Wait, I got to check for a weave," Selena said, testing Lilly's hair with a tug. "Yeah, it's so nice. Mine, however, is very fake."

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris aren't going to let any rumours get in the way of their romance.

Reports last week suggested Taylor had dumped Calvin after discovering he had gone for a "happy ending" massage in LA.

Although the Scottish DJ was indeed pictured leaving a Thai massage parlour, he has hit back at claims there was anything sinister going on.

After posting and then deleting a tweet last week about journalists who "make up stories," the How Deep Is Your Love hitmaker took to social media again last night.

"It's not going to be a 'happy ending' for everyone I sue for defamation of character for all these bullshit stories bye bye," he wrote, with Taylor favouriting the tweet soon after.

And while Calvin's other half has yet to speak out about any split rumours – or even about the relationship itself for that matter – her BFF Selena Gomez was happy to do the talking for her.

Asked in a radio interview yesterday if things were indeed over for Calvin and Taylor, the singer replied, "This is honestly so stupid." 

She seemed taken aback at the suggestion of a break-up, saying, "What?! Oh, I don't know. I think I would have found that out.

"I didn't even know – is that a rumour?"

Just last week, Taylor took to Twitter to rubbish claims she was "getting married" in England, posting this in response:

Seems like these two are getting sick of the constant press attention surrounding their romance.

Selena Gomez has been the topic of much conversation of late. 

As she's been in the process of making public appearances and doing interviews in the run up to her new album, the aptly named Revival, release she's been speaking out about a lot of things.

Her personal life has been something that has come under a lot of scrutiny- she's admitted that being in the public eye gave her body image issues.

She has also commented on the fact that while many tabloids were speculating she was spending time in rehab, she was actually undergoing treatment for Lupus. 

"I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes,'' she admits.

"I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again."

Selena also mentioned that her BFF Taylor Swift has been a huge support through while she dealt everything.

 

Naturally, we were looking forward to Selena's appearance on Ellen DeGeneres talk show this week. The comedian is generally able to make us laugh no matter what has been going on.

When she decides to do that by scaring celebrities it can be even better. 

Poor Selena, she probably didn't think that her bestie Tay-Tay would turn on her like this…

Back in 2013, Selena Gomez was almost constantly pictured on the red carpet or out in LA, usually on the arm of her then-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

But towards the end of that year, the singer dropped out of the spotlight unexpectedly, leading many to claim she was in rehab or simply couldn't take the pressures of fame.

In a new interview with Billboard, Selena has finally set the record straight, and the reality is far more upsetting than any rumour.

The 23-year-old was forced to undergo chemotherapy that year, to fight the auto-immune disease lupus.

"'That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke," Selena explains.

Lupus is a potentially fatal disease that causes the body to attack its own healthy tissue, leading to inflammation, joint swelling, fatigue, chest pain and hair loss among other symptoms.

Selena's diagnosis and subsequent treatment meant the singer had to cancel both the Australian and Asian leg of her 2013 world tour.

While some sources at the time claimed the cancellation was for medical reasons, Selena says it was tough reading the false tabloid reports suggesting she had a drug or alcohol addiction.

"I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes,'' she admits.

"I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again."

Emerging after treatement happier and healthier, Selena was again forced to deal with negative press earlier this year, this time for her body shape.

"I was in a bikini and got publicly ripped for being overweight," she recalls. 

"That was the first time I’d experienced body shaming like that. I believed some of the words they were saying."

Five months on, Selena is using that negativity in a constructive way, embracing her body and even posing naked on the cover of her upcoming album, aptly titled Revival.

"The hate motivated me,' she explains.

"This is my time. I’ve deserved this. I earned it. This is all me."

Selena Gomez is currently in counselling after being fat shamed for a bikini snap she posted in May. 

The Revival singer told US Weekly that the criticism was so extreme that she had to seek professional help and confessed she was mocked over her body when she would travel.

"I'd land at the airport and people would yell out, 'You're fat!'. It was awful."

But the 23-year-old said it was the first time she heard anybody talk about her figure. 

"I've been working since I was seven, this was the first year I ever dealt with anyone talking about my body."

"Even if I did gain weight, I'm fine. That's what the picture represents."

She also addressed her weight issue in November's upcoming issue of Flare Magazine. 

"I was really bummed when I found out all that stuff was going on, and that's when I was like, 'I'm so tired of feeling like I'm being pulled down by something'."

But the former Disney star insisted that she has only grown from the negative experience. 

"Each year, I'm becoming more who I am. I have a little more self-awareness. I feel confident and free."

"I'm not going to hide in my room and be depressed."

And we don't blame her, because she looked smoking hot on the cover of her Revival album, which she said felt really good to do. 

"Being naked is amazing," said Selena.

We only wished we looked that good naked, Ms Gomez!

Just last month, she graced the cover of Cosmopolitan – sporting a seriously sexy look that certainly caused its fair share of controversy.

Not that Demi Lovato is holding back in the aftermath: the singer and actress has just released another glossy cover – and if Cosmo raised eyebrows, Complex is going to cause a storm.

In fact, in the October/November edition, the 23-year-old former child star can be seen topless on an inflatable banana, as well as topless while hugging a giant flamingo.

Oh-la-la-la!

In the accompanying interview, the star also opens up about her boyfriend, That 70s Show's Wilmer Valderrama – one of the only times she's spoken candidly about her long-term love.

"We have been together for almost five years now, off and on," she reveals.

"The only times that we were off was when I was not in a healthy state of mind, or he was like: 'I can’t be with you until you get sober. I can’t enable what you’re doing right now.'"

As for fans hoping that the current Selena Gomez-Demi Lovato truce is more permanent than it has been in the past, Demi says that she and her former BFF don't speak.

Speaking of their relationship, she offered: "When you’re young and you get older, you change and people change.
 
"You have things in common, and then all of a sudden, you don’t. It’s just a part of life."

 

Indeed, Demi says that in general her fellow famous folk just don't interest her.

"I don’t really hang out with celebrities. I guess I do sometimes… I’m not the type of person that’s on Instagram posting pictures of me and tons of my best friends," she explains.

"I have my core group, and they’re the type of people that will be there for me in the middle of the night."

 

This evening, the Cool For The Summer singer shared a snap from the Complex shoot on her Instagram page.

Using the hashtag #CONFIDENT, she said: "I f***ing love my @complex cover shoot… Thanks Complex for the gorgeous pics!!!"

We were somewhat worried when we released that blue eyeshadow (hello, dodgy teenage years) was once again becoming a bit of a thing. 

Now we have yet more beauty news of concern: frosted lips are also definitely having a serious resurgence. 

And while you might cringe at your own past disasters (or, ya know, look in hopeless wonder at the likes of Pam Anderson) – the modern, 2015 trend for frosted lips is WAY more refined than it was in the 90s.

For that you can thank better formulas that don't reflect light in such an, ahem, intense way. 

"Today, we have new technology, frosted lipsticks have better light reflectivity than they used to," says top make-up artist Phillippe Chansel.

"Because of the finer pearl particles, they deliver a smoother finish and an even application." 

He also told Refinery 29: "Not to mention that the background shades of the frosts are also more flattering – think berries, bronzes, and warm neutrals rather than bubblegum pink and washed out tan."

Former celebrity couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez just cannot seem to stop talking each other.

Jelena fans will never forget their oh-so public love affair, and apparently neither will Justin.

Their three year on-again, off-again romance became the subject of 21-year old Justin’s interview with Complex magazine. The singer says that their relationship was a “marriage kind of thing”.

The pair started going out in 2011, and moved in together not long after. Justin said that that level of commitment at his young age was too much, but he says: “we were so in lone. Nothing else mattered.”

The dependence was something which Justin now says was potentially damaging to him:

“Your full identity can’t be in that person. My identity was in her. Her identity was in me.

When stuff would happen, I would lose my freakin’ mind, and she would lose her mind, and we would fight so hard because we were so invested in each other.”

Now the Biebs explains that he can’t lean on other people, but he did hint at having a new love interest in his life- who is apparently nothing like Selena.

“I’m kind of seeing this girl, right?” he told Complex. “I’m shy about doing or saying certain things, and then I say it and it’s not even a problem. And I’ll remember when I couldn’t.”

He went on to say he feels “scarred” from his previous relationship and is afraid of doing certain things because, he explains: “in your last relationship they’d freak out.”

Justin also talked about some the past mistakes he made which led him into some legal trouble. He says that like many 20 year olds hhe was “just rebelling a little bit.”

However, he did note that some of his antics could have had some life-threatening consequences:

“I was doing anything. I was doing so many things that I shouldn’t even be on the planet still,” he said, “I think that it was by the grace of God.”
