1. Being too clingy
Do you need to know where he is 24/7? Ask him to hang out every single day even though he doesn’t seem to keen? Take a few days and let him remember what he’s missing!

2. Becoming too available
Don’t cater for his every whim – he can look after himself. He’ll have more respect for you if you let him know you aren’t available for him all of the time.

3. Jealousy
If you allow your jealousy to overcome the beginning of a potential relationship then there may be trouble ahead. Your new beau won’t appreciate snooping.

4. Acting like their girlfriend
If you want to be his girlfriend, then ask him. Otherwise, don’t ask why he hasn’t brought you to meet his mom yet!

Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffney are both blind and first met in March 2012 at a two-week guide dog training course.

The nicest part of this story is what brought them together. Their guide dogs, Rodd and Venice, formed a strong bond and would constantly want to be together.

As Claire says about the two dogs: “Our dogs were the class love story. Everyone used to joke about how Mark’s dog, Rodd, and my dog, Venice, were meant to be together.”

Recognising this, the couple then started to meet up to walk the two love-bird dogs and found that they themselves also fell in love.

Mark says: “much like our two guide dogs, we really are best friends and soul mates”.

The two got married last Saturday in England and their trusted companions were by their sides.

1. Don’t show them your anger
Throwing things at him will only allow him to turn the tables.

2. Don’t retaliate
You need to remain the one on the high horse. That is important. He messed this up, not you, but don’t make it worse.

3. Do turn off your phone
Even if you do decide to give it another go, you need at least two weeks of space before any big decisions are made. Who knows, he might even pick it back up with her and you need to ensure that’s not the case before you go back.

4. Don’t drink
It can be tempting but drinking is a depressant and makes you do silly things. We all know that. And in a more vulnerable state, it’s a no-no.

5. Surround yourself with friends
Sometimes being alone can be, well, lonely. Especially after a difficult time with the person you spend most time with.

Most of us would have trouble watching our significant other glide around the dance floor with a scantily clad hottie.

So many of us would agree with Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev’s theory that the show can push already rocky relationships over the edge.

Kovalev was dance partner to Countdown presenter Rachael Riley in the last series of Strictly, who split from her husband a mere month after she was voted off the show.

Riley joins a string of celebrity contestants who have seen their relationships fall apart after starring in the show, including Susanna Reid, Natasha Kaplinsky and Denise Van Outen.

The Ballroom star said the intimacy of dancing with a good-looking partner and the long hours spent away from home can make the contestant’s other half insanely jealous.

Kovalev told the Daily Mail, “Dancing is always between a man and a woman. I’ve heard of lots of cases where a wife is jealous of her husband because he is dancing with a beautiful skimpy dressed girl. There is plenty of that.”
