Recently Justin Bieber unveiled his hit single Where Are U Now but this was not the first time that fans had the opportunity to hear the song.

Justin actually wrote the song back in 2009, when he was 15-years old. At the time it was untouched by producers Diplo and Skrillex who transformed the single for it's release this year.

Justin is seen in a video performing the song while playing the keyboard during a performance on KiddKraddick in the Morning

Now the song is thought to be one of the biggest dance anthems of the year, but back then it sounded entirely different.

The video is a reminder that Justin has got some serious musical talent as he belts out the heartfelt ballad. He has spoken about the original version of the song before. He told Jimmy Fallon that he thought it was "incomplete."

So naturally, because this is how the land of celebs works, he sent it Skrillex:

"Skrillex did his thing to it and made this weird sound in the hook and called it a dolphin sound."

The rest is dance music history that Justin's fan absolutely love. They love The Biebs and his music so much in fact that at a recent event in Paris, some of his fans came to blows.

Hollywood Life reports that a physical fight occured between female fans while they waited for Justin outside a studio in the city. The brawl apparently turned bloody as the crowd got worked up waiting for the singer to emerge.

Justin is due to release a new album in November and since his latest single What Do You Mean? was released he has been a huge press tour. It looks like his fans have certainly not forgotten about him then. Bieber fever could be back before we know it.

There is nothing worse than being the only one of your friends not going to a gig on a Friday night. Any music fans who were left behind while it seemed like half of the nation packed their bags for Stradbally this summer knows the feeling.

However, a new app has launched that is set to make sure no one ever misses out again. Firstage is the world's first ever app that promises to bring live performances straight to your smartphone.

The idea for Firstage, a self-funded venture created by Limerick native Keith Lawlor and Durham's Neil Harrison came when the pair were living in Dubai. Having both been playing in bands and making music themselves until they relocated to Dubai, they missed the live music scene in Ireland.

Talking to The Ticket Neil explained:

“It was an amazing experience, but Dubai never had a strong music scene, so it was very difficult to gig consistently because there were very few venues,” he says.

Keith adds: “Then we started thinking about it and thought ‘Wouldn’t it be great if an Irish band could play in Dubai? Or an American band could play in China, or wherever?’”

So Firstage was designed to do just that; allow emerging bands and musicians without the money for international tours to perform around the globe using a virtual stage.

They will travel to New York’s CMJ festival next month to spread the word about their app with music fans abroad. For now, they are concentrating on Irish bands:

“We want people to be aware of how much talent there is, because Ireland’s full of it.”

The Firstage app is available for download on Android now, and will be available for iOS users very shortly.

Well, Grindr users are certainly going to be feeling pleased with themselves right now. Whether they made a match or not, there is one perk to be found on the app of late that will be sure to make at least some users pretty happy.

Leona Lewis has joined forces with the dating service to offer users her brand new album I Am for a discounted price.

The news was announced on the app’s twitter page when they wrote: "@LeonaLewis returns with the new album #IAm. Get it for the #GRINDR special price, NOW!"

The album can be purchased through the app for €3.50, which is quite a bargain considering it normally retails for €16.99. The promotional tactic is said to come about her lead single from the album Fire Under My Feet failed to break into the top 50.

Leona left her record label at Sony last year. She spoke about how the break away from Simon Cowell’s label was traumatic for her:

“I felt like at that stage all they were doing was holding me back from fulfilling my potential, to ask me to do a covers album was… there was no love in it.”

Speaking to the Independent recently came out as saying she would never do a Miley Cyrus and resort to wearing. However, while she might be avoiding channelling the former Disney star, she is taking after another performer with her Grindr move.

Last year Nicki Minaj sold tickets to her Pinkprint Tour on the app. Madonna also ran a competition through the app which offered fans a chance to win a live chat with her for the release of her album Rebel Heart.

Lindsay Lohan’s debut album is now 11 years old. Her long abandoned music career however seems to be having something of a regeneration in recent times.

Anyone feeling nostalgic for the days of Lindsay’s latest single being played on the radio (did that ever happen?) can’t breathe easier once more. Lindsay has lent her vocals to a new Duran Duran song. The track is available for streaming right now in fact.

Danceophobia is your standard Duran Duran song, until Lindsay makes her arrival, or rather, her oddly robotic voice.

Apparently, she’s a doctor now:  "You may be experiencing feelings of confusion. Don't be afraid. I've seen these symptoms before. Ten, twenty new cases a week. We call this condition danceophobia."

Well, there’s no doubt that someone such as Lindsay would be in a position to spot a serious case of ‘danceophobia’ when she sees one. She was friends with Paris Hilton for all those years, remember? Well, it was mostly just for 2007 but that’s not what really matters here.

Paris is a DJ now, so obviously Lindsay can identify someone throwing serious shapes on the dance floor.

Not forgetting Lindsay has had quite the music career herself. She covered a lot of genres too. A lot of genres.

Never forget:

"I wait for the postman to bring me a letter. I wait for the good Lord to make me feel better."

Selena took to Twitter to release the artwork for her newest album, entitled Revival, set to be released on October 9th.

The former Disney Channel star looks to be getting back to basics as she bares it all on the cover of her latest project. The album has been highly anticipated and Selena teased the release of the cover with a different message before posting the more revealing shot.

Stripping down to nothing but her underwear Selena certianly seems redy to shed her good girl image.

She spoke to Ryan Secrest recently about what to expect from her new tracks, and said she is excited to show them off to her fans. The brunette beauty confessed that she knows she may not be the most talented songstress out there but that won’t hold her back.

“I'm not the best singer in the world, but I know how to translate emotion…I'm just finding my strengths now as an artist.”

During their sit-down chat she added: “It's just kind of not try-hard. It's just perfect. I think, to me, that was exactly what I want people to see for the next chapter for me.”

After her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber confessed that he still hasn’t healed from their break up, people are curious as to how much of that split fuelled Selena’s music… but she says it's definitely not a heartbreak album.

"I think there's hints of it, but I think what I was really excited about was the title of the album and the rebirth of Selena.”

She added that this album is really focused on her own rebirth as an individual.

“It’s just my chance to just feel like an independent artist… It’s all about my journey.”

Sam Smith has announced that he will sing the theme for the new Bond film, Spectre.

The Grammy winner had teased at his involvement with the film over the weekend over social media (in the middle of his Electric Picnic preparations we presume) and now it has been confirmed that Sam will be singing Writing’s On The Wall.

The track was co-written with Jimmy Napes, with whom Sam has collaborated with previously on Stay With Me and Naughty Boy’s La La La.

On Instagram the singer wrote: “This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song.”

Sprectre will be the twenty fourth Bond film to be released in Ireland on 26 October. Sam’s single, released by Capitol Records, will debut and be available to stream on 25 September.

Writing’s On The Wall will be the first time a Bond theme song has been recorded by a male solo artist since 1965. Speaking about the announcement the producers of Spectre, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said:

“Sam and Jimmy have written the most inspirational song for Spectre and with Sam’s extraordinary vocal performance, Writing’s On The Wall will surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time.”

The previous Bond themes have made for some of the most memorable film music of all time. The last theme, Skyfall, was performed by Adele and went on to win a number of awards. These included the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

Sam told Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw he was relieved to finally be able to talk about the project, saying it “has been the top secret mission of my life.”

“I got called into the office with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes and they gave me the script, I read the script. They said ‘have a go at the song’.”

We can’t wait to hear this!

There are certain voices that whenever you hear, you can’t help but become transported into the world of the story they are telling,

We’re talking Morgan Freeman, James Earl Jones, Donald Sutherland, Jon Snow (the Channel 4 one) and of course, Sir Ian McKellan.

But did you ever think that you would hear the Lord of the Rings star doing a dramatic reading of our favourite popstar’s songs?

Well, you are in for a treat.

The 76-year-old X-Men star gave an (almost) Oscar-worthy performance in a video for Yahoo! when he read aloud Taylor Swfit’s Bad Blood before he switched over to Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk.

As Tay-Tay is known for flying celebrities all over the globe to join her own stage, we are just praying that Sir Ian is going to be her next mystery guest.

We know by now that Taylor Swift likes to keep track of some her fans social media activity.

She did after all recently weigh in on one Tumblr users fashion dilemma with some red carpet advice.

Yesterday, she tweeted her love of a fan’s cover of Bad Blood, and now Alessia Cara has created a social media storm.

She’s already been creating some buzz in the industry since her hit Here went viral, but considering the amount of Swift covers that exist on YouTube already, we think the fact that Taylor put the spotlight on this one is saying something.

Looks like Gigi might have to move over because we think it won’t be long before Alessia gets her own inflatable swan and joins the ultimate girl squad.

Taylor wrote on Twitter that she thinks Alessia is "AMAZING". She used all capitals so you know she's being very serious.

Alessia’s more relaxed version of Bad Blood, including Kendrick Lamar’s rap, has grabbed the attention of the 25-year old music star and her 60million followers since Tay-Tay retweeted the video.

We imagine that’s probably the best shout-out Alessia could have imagined.

Her reaction pretty much sums up what any of us would have done after receiving a nod from the Grammy winner.

Nicely done, Alessia.

If you're already worried about letting your workout routine fall by the wayside as you enjoy a summer of music festivals and dancing in the mud, don't panic just yet.

Tech company Withings carried out what has to be the coolest study of all time when they calculated how many calories the average festival-goer burns in one day at a music festival. With the help of detailed site maps and distance-tracking tools, the researchers were able to get an accurate idea of how many kilometres were travelled and how many calories were danced/walked off each day.

The average reveller will burn anything from 2,300 to 3,400 calories a day, which amounts to close to 10,000 if you're spending 3-4 days at your festival of choice. Of course, if you're choosing acts like Sigur Ros over Avicii you might find you burn less calories, but that's a personal choice.

Withings focused only on UK festivals, but here's their findings to below to give you an idea of what you'll be burning off at Longitude, Electric Picnic et al. And considering the SHEmazing! team checked out their own activity data after last month's Body and Soul Festival and averaged about 15 – 18 km of walking/dancing per day, the estimations below even seem a little conservative.

Glastonbury: 3400 calories burnt off each day and 8.2 km walked

V Festival: 3,100 calories burnt off each day and 7.4 km walked

Reading Festival: 3,000 calories burnt off each day and 7.6 km walked

T In The Park: 3,000 calories burnt off each day and 7.2 km walked

Leeds Festival: 2,900 calories burnt off each day and 7.4 km walked

So don't feel too guilty about queuing up at the burger stand or trying out the pie truck… you'll burn it off soon enough.

Well now, this is interesting news.

We all know Ed Sheeran has some of the best collaborations ever. Whether it’s crooing with his bestie Taylor Swift, or joining his young super-fans on stage, Ed loves a good duet. And we love that he loves duets.

What we didn’t know, was that Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez plan on doing more than just late night snack shopping together.

Rumours have abounded that these two may be the latest celebrities to get together, but according to Hollywood Life, it’s more of a musical connection that the two share.

Recently spotted together at the launch party for fellow musician Tori Kelly’s new album, the pair were apparently deep in conversation about working on some tracks together. Fabulous news.

A source close to Ed has reportedly said “he thinks she’s super-talented, has a great voice and the right appeal to front one of his songs.”

We feel like this could be the new musical dream team.

Ed is however, conscious of not bringing Selena’s ex Justin Bieber into the mix. The same source claims that “Ed doesn’t want to start anything with Justin Bieber and write a song for Selena about him. He feels she should concentrate on something else.”

We think that sounds like an excellent plan. Ed is a master musician and songwriter and we feel like Selena’s got enough talent, and serious sassiness to make for some excellent collaborations.

We wouldn’t go breaking out the love-heart emojis just yet though, while the pair are rumoured to be interested in working together, work is the main priority for both.

“Ed and Selena have been hanging out a lot together, but there’s nothing going on there. They just want to get to know each other better because they’re considering working with one another,” a source close to the dup has said.

Who knows, things could change, but we’re certainly going to be keeping a look out for any developments with these two.

Last night the crowds in Cork were treated to an amazing performance from Ellie Goulding at the Marquee.

And shortly afterwards, a local Garda couldn’t believe he was the lucky one who got to get Ellie into a pair of handcuffs.

Shiiiiit….

A photo posted by elliegoulding (@elliegoulding) on

After a most eventful night in Cork, the Starry Eyed singer took to Instagram to document her run-in with one of Ireland’s finest.

Always endeavouring to keep things of the highest professional standard, the official Garda Twitter account checked in to make sure Ellie was treated well.

Clearly the singer was doing just fine as she later shared a photograph from her room at the five star Haymarket Hotel (ooo, fancy).

Obviously delighted with her show, and not at all phased by her brush with the law, Ellie shared a photograph of her team before the gig and couldn’t stop talking about what a great time she was having.

Cork I loved that so much… THANK YOU! here's us all nervous pre show, me and my beautiful team!

A photo posted by elliegoulding (@elliegoulding) on

Ellie has played here on numerous occasions and this time she even chose to debut her new pink hair while visiting.

We’re wondering though, what would Ellie do to get herself arrested? Or even better, how would she have gotten herself out of trouble?

Offering up a free snack box can apparently do wonders when in tricky situations. Or she probably just crooned a sweet little tune and strutted off into the night.

Maybe someday we’ll be enlightened by the lucky Garda himself, it’s sure to be a good one.
