Beauty trailblazer The Body Shop has just added two refillable makeup products to its revitalised makeup collection. The Tea Tree Face Base and Peptalk Lipstick are set to become sustainable staples in any makeup bag, empowering users to confidently embrace their true selves. Continuing the brand’s stake in clean, ethical beauty, both new products offer aluminium packaging that can be refilled and reused time and time again, saving unnecessary plastic from landfill.

The philosophy of The Body Shop’s founder Anita Roddick holds true with these new additions, as she once said “Why waste a container when you can refill it? And why buy more of something than you can use? We behaved as my mother did in the Second World War, we reused everything, we refilled everything, and we recycled all we could. The foundation of The Body Shop’s environmental activism was born out of ideas like these.”

The Tea Tree Face Base

The Tea Tree Face Base is enriched with Community Fair Trade tea tree oil from Kenya. Sweat and humidity resistant, it has a non-comedogenic formula which gives 12-hour coverage, helps even out skin tone and promotes clearer looking skin. What’s more, it’s available in 40 inclusive shades to suit every skin colour. The 100% recyclable aluminium pan is designed to fit perfectly inside an aluminium Tea Tree Face Base Compact for Life (€6) which can be refilled and reused over and over, minimising plastic waste.

Peptalk Lipstick

Peptalk Lipstick (€14) is an easy to apply, demi-matte formula enriched with Community Fair Trade shea butter from Tamale, Ghana. With 20 complexion flattering shades to suit any skin tone, it provides 12 hours of nourishing moisture and 6 hours of lightweight colour, with strong, one swipe colour payoff. The Peptalk Refillable Case (€6) is a handbag hero that can be reused time and time again, meaning you can easily switch out refills into the sturdy aluminium packaging for beauty top ups on the go.

Tea Tree Face Base, Peptalk Lipstick and Refillable Cases are now available to purchase in The Body Shop stores nationwide. For more information check out the non-transactional website www.thebodyshop.com.

AJ Odudu has been teasing that she might be landing a new gig soon!

Earlier today, the TV presenter appeared on morning chat show Lorraine to promote her new Channel 4 series The Big Interiors Battle.

During their conversation, host Lorraine Kelly brought up the fact that the 35-year-old has had a lot of rumours swirling around her recently.

“Your name is in the ring for a lot of things. We’ve heard about It Takes Two, Big Brother, all of these things,” Lorraine explained. “It wasn’t always like that though, AJ, was it?”

AJ responded by detailing her delight at all the excitement, and gave a subtle hint that she could take over as Big Brother’s host.

“I’ve been in London now for 15 years, and it’s so amazing to not only have shows like The Big Interiors Battle and all of the incredible stuff that I’ve been working on earlier this year and previously, but yeah, to have my name tipped for anything is just absolutely incredible!” she exclaimed.

Big Brother first began in 2000, and the public edition of the programme last aired in 2018 on Channel 5.

The revival of the show was first confirmed in August of last year, in an advertisement during the Love Island final.

Big Brother was originally slated to air in March. Unfortunately, the programme was delayed due to ITV’s busy season at the start of 2023, with reality favourite Love Island returning and the upcoming premiere of I’m A Celebrity: South Africa.

It is believed that Big Brother will now air in the autumn, after this summer’s series of Love Island but before the new season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in November.

Previous hosts such as Emma Willis, Rylan and Davina McCall have already denied speculation that they could return to the presenting gig. However, one of them has given AJ their support to take over!

Speaking to the Radio Times in October of last year, Emma Willis noted that the former Strictly contestant would be a perfect fit. “AJ Odudu would absolutely knock it out of the park," the 47-year-old exclaimed.

We can’t wait to find out who gets the top job!

Olivia Buckley International, the luxury wedding and event planning agency, shares expert advice for hosting a sustainable wedding this year, ahead of World Earth Day on Saturday, 22nd April. Founded by Irish entrepreneur Olivia Buckley in 2013, Olivia Buckley International has created one-of-a-kind celebrations for a global clientele of A-list celebrities, Forbes Rich-List and Fortune 500 CEOs. From pre-loved wedding dresses to eco-friendly décor, making small sustainable changes this year can have a big impact.

Olivia Buckley

Wear Pre-Loved Wedding Attire

Choosing pre-loved or vintage wedding attire is a wonderful way to reduce waste and promote sustainability. Opting for previously owned pieces helps to decrease the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing new garments. Not only is this a more environmentally friendly choice, but it also allows the bridal party to incorporate unique and timeless pieces into their wedding look. Olivia’s client Brandy Dallas, founder of the sustainable fashion brand Sans Faff, looked stunning in her pre-loved Monique Lhuillier gown on her wedding day. Her choice not only reflected her personal values but also served as an inspiration for others to make more sustainable choices of their own.

Olivia Buckley International

Eco-Friendly Wedding Invites

Wedding invitations set the tone for the big day ahead, but they don't have to come at the cost of the environment. By choosing eco-friendly wedding invitations or e-vites, the bridal party can make a positive impact on the planet. Eco-friendly paper options include recycled, tree-free, and vegetable-based inks. For those who prefer a digital option, e-vites are a great choice, as they eliminate paper waste and can easily be customized. Choosing an eco-friendly option showcases the bridal party’s commitment to sustainability and protecting the planet.

Choose a Green Wedding Venue

A green wedding venue is another way to be more sustainable in wedding planning. To identify a green venue, look for places that practice eco-friendly habits such as recycling and composting, using renewable energy, and sourcing local products. Outdoor venues can also be a great option, as they can reduce energy use and take advantage of natural lighting.

Use Eco-Friendly Décor

Look for decor made from recycled, biodegradable, or sustainable materials, such as bamboo or organic cotton. Avoid materials like plastic and Styrofoam that can take hundreds of years to decompose. Choose centrepieces that can be repurposed or donate them to a local shelter or nursing home after the wedding. Opt for LED lighting to reduce energy use and create a romantic ambiance.

Eco-Florists and Repurposing Flowers

Selecting an eco-florist and repurposing flowers is a great way to ensure that the wedding celebration is environmentally friendly. Eco-florists prioritize the environment by using sustainable materials, composting, and minimizing waste. They also source their flowers locally and seasonally, which reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Repurposing flowers can also help reduce waste. For example, ceremony flowers can be repurposed and introduced into the dining space or used as centrepieces.

Reduce Transport Emissions

Consider holding the ceremony and reception at the same location to reduce the need for transportation. If that's not possible, choose a venue that's easily accessible by public transport or encourages carpooling. Brides and grooms can also opt for eco-friendly transportation, such as a bicycle or a horse-drawn carriage. Encourage guests to carpool or use public transportation by providing information on local transit options.

Recycled Metals, Ethical Gemstones & Vintage Jewellery

By opting for a wedding band that uses recycled metals and ethical gemstones, or opting for vintage jewellery, supports sustainable jewellery practices. Recycled metals and ethical gemstones are mined and produced in ways that minimize harm to the environment and human rights violations. Vintage jewellery is a unique and eco-friendly option, as it allows the wedding party to wear a piece of history while also reducing waste. To find these items, look for jewellers who specialize in sustainable and ethical practices, or search for vintage and antique jewellery at second-hand stores, online marketplaces, or family heirlooms.

Olivia Buckley International

Donate Leftover Food

Donating leftover food is an ideal way to reduce waste and support those in need. To achieve this, work with the venue or wedding planner to identify a local food bank or charity that accepts donations. Coordinate with them beforehand to ensure that the food is properly stored and transported to the organization. Choose to serve buffet-style meals to avoid over-ordering and minimize food waste. Inform guests ahead of time that you'll be donating the leftover food and invite them to participate in this meaningful act of giving.

Four universities in Ireland will be receiving funds from the investment. Each of the four successful projects will be given €25 million through the co-funded Higher Education Strategic Infrastructure Fund Round two (HESIF II).

There has been an ongoing investment in the higher education sector through Project Ireland 2040, the government’s strategy to ‘make Ireland better for all of its people’.

The funding from the investment will be going towards creating high quality higher education infrastructure, as well as providing a strategic impact for the country’s future skills needs.

The projects that are receiving this funding are University College Cork’s redevelopment of the Kane Science Building, Trinity College Dublin’s South Renewal Project, University College Dublin ‘s Phase III of the O’Brien Centre for Science, and the Future UL Education (FULE) for University of Limerick.

The fourth season of Love Is Blind may be over, but the drama is continuing!

Paul Peden has hit back at presenter Vanessa Lachey, and has accused her of having “personal bias” during Sunday’s series reunion.

Paul’s journey on Love Is Blind led him to get engaged to Micah Lussier. However, at the altar, Paul chose to say ‘I do not’, thus ending their relationship.

During the aftermath of the failed wedding, Paul revealed to the Netflix cameras one of the devastating reasons why he declined to marry Micah.

Credit: Netflix

“I struggled with… at least in terms of envisioning, like, you know, a mother. I think for me, it was difficult for me to do. It's just sort of like a nurturing aspect that some people have,” he commented.

In the show’s recent reunion episode, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey repeatedly pushed the 29-year-old to explain his remarks, to the point where Paul’s co-star Zack Goytowski stepped in to defend him.

Following the reunion special, Paul expressed his frustration over the line of questioning he received from Vanessa about the issue.

Credit: Netflix

“They kept drilling, drilling it down on me. I think I said my piece,” he explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Paul then went on to directly comment on Vanessa’s line of questioning. “I think Vanessa might have had a little bit of personal bias in that scenario or at least I kind of detected that. I don’t know. But that’s just my assumption based on how she continued to drill into it after I gave my full rationale for why I felt the way that I did,” he admitted.

Fans of the show had presumed that the tension had dissolved in the last few days, especially after Paul thanked the 42-year-old presenter “for acknowledging the accidental misleading” when she sent him a bouquet of flowers.

However, the reality star has now asked for fans’ opinions on the matter. Taking to his Instagram stories last night, Paul re-shared his accusations towards Vanessa and released a poll for fans to answer, with the question: “Was it biased?”

At the time of publishing, 89% of Love Is Blind fans have voted ‘yes’ in support of Paul, while 11% have voted ‘no’.

Vanessa has yet to publicly comment on the issue.

“Congrats gorge,” added former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison.

Binky and Max announced on November 6 of last year that they were expecting their second child together.

The parents shared a lovely video montage of the family-of-four out on a woodland walk together, before India is handed a gift bag and she pulls out a strip of sonogram snaps.

“Imagine thinking you’re nearing the ‘oh so quiet’ phase again…. Taurus baby coming in hot,” Binky teased in the video’s caption.

The following month, Binky and Max confirmed that they would be welcoming another baby boy. However, little India wasn’t too pleased in the announcement video, as she began to get upset upon the blue confetti reveal.

“Needless to say she is beyond happy now we’ve sat her down & she has realised she is the only princess still,” Binky joked at the time.

Binky and Max have been together since 2019. The couple initially tied the knot in July 2021, one month after the birth of baby Wolfie. They then celebrated a second seaside ceremony in Corfu one year later, in July 2022.

Congratulations to the happy family!
