Many families were left homeless when a fire ripped through the Metro Hotel in Dublin last month.

However, they have now been offered emergency accommodation.

Yesterday, the families went to Dublin City Council’s homeless offices in search of help.

The Dublin Region Homeless Executive stated that the families will be supported and provided with accommodation due to the difficult situation the families are in.

It is understood that up to 50 people lost their homes due to the fire. They were living in another hotel, free of charge since the blaze broke out, but that support is due to end this week

Councillor Noeleen Reilly told RTÉ’s Drivetime about the families’ struggles, “They’re living day-to-day at this stage. They don’t know where they are going to be. They’re actually relieved today to hear that they have somewhere to stay tomorrow night but this day next week we’ll be having the same conversation about where are they going to go.”

She added, “They’re just looking for a roof over their heads.”

The families are unsure about permanent accommodation as their homeless applications are still pending.

I've been a Macklemore fan for years, ever since he played to a crowd of 200 people in The Twisted Pepper in 2011.

And obviously, he's come a long way since then, and I couldn't be happier for him.

The platinum selling artist played in Dublin last night, to a massive crowd in the 3 Arena, and I went along.

I didn't go with the intention of writing an article, however, it was quite the experience… an experience worth sharing.

So I arrived at around 8.30pm (standard) and was greeting by a very large crowd of teenagers, and a handful of Gardai keeping the peace.

Not an easy job, let me tell you.

Anyway, myself and my pal went in and situated ourselves among the standing crowd, getting reasonably close to the stage.

At 9pm, the show began, and from the very minute Macklemore came on stage, he was incredible.

I'm telling you now, there are very few artists around these days who have the same levels of energy and enthusiasm.

He captivates an audience like no other, despite the fact that the audience was made up of 10,000 17 year olds, pissed as rats.

He performed music from his numerous albums, including Downtown, Glorious and of course, Irish Celebration

He spoke about his love for Ireland, his Irish heritage, and how Dublin is his favourite place to perform – and I genuinely believed him.

He donned an Irish jersey, waved the tricolour, and put on one hell of a show.

However, as I stood there taking in the greatness, it hit me – I am officially old.

Now listen, I'm 26, and I know I'm not old, old, but the days of tiny shorts, scoring the face of random fellas and getting drunk on a Wednesday are well and truly behind me.

And I'm not sure how to feel.

I genuinely felt like an old fart at the concert, despite the fact that I've been a fan of Macklemore for years (back when the majority of the crowd were making their confirmation).

Anyway, it brought me back to my school days, and despite the fact that they were all HUGELY irritating, I felt very nostalgic.

I don't think I  realised how much I missed being young and carefree, no job to worry about, no bills to pay, and no worries about being an adult.

Back when I was a teen, my biggest worries were my boyfriend at the time, what I was going to wear to Wezz (HA) and whether or not I could drink a whole naggin.

Of course, I WAS that annoying girl at concerts who a little bit too drunk, annoying the handful of adults that braved the event.

And that made me think a little, and lessened my desire to flip the lid at all the young ones.

I was 16, too, and I loved every second of it.

It actually seemed fitting when Macklemore launched into Good Old Days – I even welled up a little.

Irish Celebration in Ireland

"I wish somebody would have told me babe, some day, these will be the good old days."

"'Cause someday soon, your whole life's gonna change, you'll miss the magic of the good old days."

Too bloody right pal.

My point is, despite the fact that the crowd of drunken teens were killing my buzz, we've all been there.

I kept reminding myself that they're making memories, the stories they'll still be talking about in ten years.

When they're old farts, just like me.

We're SO ready for the reboot of Sabrina (the aptly dubbed Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina) to scare our socks off.

The first look at the series is surprisingly sweet, though.

Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa gave us a glimpse at a tender moment between Harvey (Ross Lynch) and Sabrina herself (Kiernan Shipka).

Kiernan is absolutely spellbinding in her outfit. The look is just so classic, from her candy apple red coat to the simple black headband.

We have to say though… doesn't this seem awfully wholesome for the supposedly dark retelling of Sabrina the Teenage Witch?

The former Mad Men actress has said of the new Netflix series: 'It’s going to be really dark and really cool, and have this very like macabre take on everything. I’m really pumped to be a witch. Who wouldn’t be?'

When it comes to Sabrina's fellow witches, her aunt Zelda will be played by Homeland actress Miranda Otto.

However, the beloved aunts will be extremely different to the Helda and Zelda we know and love.

According to Variety, Zelda Spellman will be a stern and strict aunt to Sabrina. She believes that there is no greater honour than serving the Dark Lord.

Zelda is extremely protective of her young niece being described as the most disciplined member of the family.

The entire series may be darker and spookier than the original, but we cannot wait to tune in when it eventually airs on Netflix.

No air date has been confirmed for the untitled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina adaptation, but Netflix has ordered two seasons of the bewitching show already.

Calling all third-level students!

Applications for the SUSI Student Grant Scheme open today, much earlier than in previous years.

Student Universal Support Ireland is Ireland’s national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants.

The grant offers levels of financial aid to university students who are eligible.

The earlier opening date allows more time for the processing of applications, leading to students hearing back regarding their application sooner.

Additionally, four million euro more has also been allocated to the grant scheme..

This extra funding will assist those who are most in need in their pursuit of higher education.

In fairness, it would seem as though we're faced with a new hair trend every single week.

From the return of the 90s bob to the glory of the rose chocolate hair colour trend – we genuinely can't keep up.

Despite the fact that we are overrun with trends, we are loving each and every one of them (some more than others though).

We love seeing people rock daring new looks, but we're simple creatures, who love a good curly blow dry and a bitta balayage.

HOWEVER, the Internet's latest offering comes in the form of 'fruit juice hair' and it is mad, but also very wearable.

The wonderful hairstylist behind this new look is Alisha  McAlister, who shared the image on Instagram.

"I’m not sure what to call this!" she said in the caption.

"It’s a mix of blended fruit colours. I started this hair colour thinking I was doing a simple base and tone. Then my amazing client surprised me! She said, 'I want something different!'

Huge congratulations are in order as Macklemore is officially a dad-of-two. The Glorious singer shared the news exclusively with Spin 1038.

Speaking to the radio station before his Dublin gig, he shared his joyous family news for the first time.

The singer often gushes about his love for Ireland and when he was asked about how he spent St. Patrick’s Day, he shared, “To be honest, I haven't said this publicly, cue the airhorn."

He continued, “I spent it in the hospital with my brand new daughter, who was born right before St Patrick's Day."

We are delighted for the Can’t Hold Us singer, who also has a two-year-old daughter with wife Tricia.

The doting dad revealed that they were expecting their second child back in September.

He shared a witty baby announcement video with his four million Instagram followers, where he revealed the joyous news.

So I have always been an Apple fanatic – I cannot imagine my life without an iPhone, MAC and iPad.

Pathetic, I know.

Anyway, I had myself convinced that no phone on this earth would ever match up to my glorious iPhone, in all of its glory.

However, last week I had the honour of jetting off to Paris to attend the launch of a brand new phone, by Huawei.

Let me tell you lads, I was NOT disappointed.

We sat back in our seats and watched the CEO of Huawei Technologies Consumer Business Group unveil this shiny new tech toy, I listened to what he said, but I was sceptical.

He spoke about the new camera, the AI technologies, and how this new phone is a groundbreaking piece of machinery.

I was intrigued, of course – mainly by the camera.

He said that the camera was as good as a professional one, and could actually be used for shooting and capturing editorial imagery.

An influencers dream phone, basically.

So what exactly makes this phone so special? Let me explain.

So the Huawei P20 Pro has an advanced camera system to capture more light, more details and more beauty, featuring a 'revolutionary Leica triple camera and 5x Hybrid Zoom'.

Real talk though, I cannot tell you how amazing the camera is – the pictures are so sharp and clear it is outrageous!

Sure just look at all the gorgeous piuctures I've included in this piece – can't argue with it!

It has innovative photography features, including Master AI with AI-driven professional photography and HUAWEI AIS (AI Image Stabilisation), a powerful AI stabilisation technology.

Oh, and one of my FAVOURITE features? It has an amazing battery life (seriously, you won't have to charge it once during the day!)

“We look for inspiration from artists to continuously evolve our approach to design and innovation,” said Richard Yu.

“The HUAWEI P20 Series builds on the legacy of our collaboration with Leica. With a breakthrough triple camera on the HUAWEI P20 Pro, an advanced dual camera on the HUAWEI P20, and powerful artificial intelligence on both, today’s most vibrant consumers can capture and share the brilliance of the world around them.”

Anyway, if you're smart, you'll consider getting one of these bad boys.

It hits Irish stores on April 13th, so get ready.

If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that dogs really are too pure for this world.

Aside from being downright adorable, their loyal and caring nature is often wasted on us mere humans, and honestly they deserve so much more.

And that's not even to mention the thousands of service dogs that devote their lives to helping people with disabilities, whose good work of course earns them and extra special treat every now and again.

Twitter user Nicole Brown spread some joy across the internet this weekend when she posted photos of Labradors and Golden Retrievers stopping for a break while they sported their cutest Disney attire.

It was later revealed that the adorable doggos were from Canine Companions, a service which provides highly trained and skilled service dogs to people with disabilities, particularly autism.

The field trip is just one of the ways the company rewards the dogs for all their hard work, but as well as being a fun day out, it also serves as a fundamental part of their training.

As theme parks are filled withe huge crowds, small children and loud noise, the exercise teaches the dog how to cope in stressful situations.

Our hearts ever never felt so full!

Okay so we've all given the likes of Tinder and Bumble a go right?

Well, I certainly have, to no avail, I might add.

But sure look, it's a bit of fun at the end of the day, and if you're lucky enough to find love (or lust) – good for you!

Anyway, we always get a kick out of a cheeky dating app… until now.

We recently stumbled upon a new dating creation, called 'Fuck, marry, kill'

Charming.

Anyway, this app is exactly what you think it is: 3 profiles come up of your desired gender, and you basically select which of them you'd choose to sleep with, marry and kill.

Jesus, I'm actually sweating for my poor self esteem with this one.

The app's creator, Portuguese Rui Gouveia, says it's a cool new way to meet people in a fun and playful manner, "We're seeing two types of users: the ones that use FMK just for the fun of it [and] others for the possibility of meeting new people."

Playful. Really though?

The app apparently allows you to check your rating to see if you're more fuckable, marriable or killable.

You actually couldn't make this shit up.

Anyway, once you figure out what category you fall into, the app then matches you with the people who dig you and you can chat if you want to.

Brave enough to give it a whirl? Go forth, and let us know how you get on.

The art of writing fiction is expressed differently by everyone who seeks to pursue the challenge of crafting a novel.

However, some female fiction fans have noticed that female-identifying characters in some male-written novels are rather two-dimensional.

One Twitter user challenged the internet to describe themselves like the trope of a male author would.

While there are undoubtedly hundreds of esteemed male authors, the responses to the call were quite familiar:

Women in Ireland face 14 years in prison for seeking a termination except in situations where the life of the mother is 100pc at risk.

This, coupled with the decades of ingrained social stigma attached to abortion here, have led women to procure the appropriate healthcare abroad or self-induce terminations through online tablets.

In Her Shoes, a Facebook page set up to share stories of Irish women who have sough terminations, has been giving real-life accounts of the realities surrounding abortion.

The page, which has over 54,000 members, was bombarded last night by Save the 8th accounts, who left abusive comments and low-star reviews.

The comments generally claimed that the In Her Shoes stories were 'feminist propaganda' and were spreading 'misinformation.'

'I believe women should have a choice, many choices however Abortion is not a choice, it's a moral issue, and like slavery it is morally wrong. We can all justify anything with wiley words,' read one 1-star review.

'All unborn children deserve a chance at life. God will judge those destroy his creation. I don't hate women but I hate the act of abortion and it's disgusting to kill unborn children because you couldn't make the right choice not to have sex,' read another.

In retaliation, pro-choice supporters began leaving their own reviews of the page, giving it five stars to combat the hate being spread by the descending troll accounts.

A number of community members were left temporarily locked out of their accounts after the trolling.

'Yesterday, pro-life accounts had been spamming and trolling numerous conversations within the In Her Shoes community,' reads a post from the page admin.

'Because this caused upset within the pro-life 'love both' movement, they devised an attempt, along with their pro-life organisations in the US to remove the page by trying to flood it with 1 star reviews, privately messaging individual commenters, and/or reporting individual commenters and this page as spam.'

So a few weeks back, we decided to set up a SHEmazing Spotify account – because we just love good tunes.

We created a playlist that was made of up of songs by some of our favourite females, from TLC to Dua Lipa.

We had so much fun making the playlist, and sharing it with you – so we've decided to make a new playlist!

We did a poll on Facebook, asking you gorgeous humans if you'd prefer a gym playlist or a boy band one.

In a not-so-shocking twist, the boy bands won out, and so we got to work!

We'd like to introduce you to 'Boyband Lovin', the perfect compilation of all your favourite fellas.

We included some of the most iconic 90s hits from The Backstreet Boys and NSync, as well as some tunes from the likes of Blue and Westlife.

We'll be doing a few polls in the coming weeks to ask you all what we should add to the boy band playlist.

Enjoy, ladies!
