So, One Direction may have gone their seperate ways, but unlike the classic boyband splits that came before them, there's no bad blood between the lads (well, for the most part).

During a recent interview on Australian radio station Nova 100, Niall Horan gushed over fomer band mate, Louis Tomlinson, and even credited him with saving One Direction, insisting that they would have 'lost the plot' without him in the band.

"He's an unbelievable guy, a great singer and someone that, if, I'd say, we would have lost the plot along the way if we hadn't had Louis," he told the host.

"He was a very, very, very extremely vital member of One Direction. He's a great man."

His comments come after Louis spoke about how he struggled to find his place in the band.

Speaking to The Observer, Louis opened up about feeling insecure and walking in the shadows of the other band members.

"The others have always been… Like Niall, for example. He's the most lovely guy in the world. Happy-go-lucky Irish, no sense of arrogance. And he's fearless. There are times I've thought, 'I'd have a bit of that," he said.

"Zayn, back in the day. He could relate to me on a nerves level. Liam always had a good stage presence, same as Harry… Then there's me."

Louis recently sent fans inot a frenzy when he announced his new single Back to You, and he is also said to be working on putting togther a new girlband with former maganger, Simon Cowell.

Up until the release of All Eyez On Me – the biopic documenting the life of Tupac Shakur – not many people realised that the late rapper shared an incredibly close relationship with actress, Jada Pinkett Smith, in the 90s.

Speaking following the release of the film, Jada admitted she wasn't impressed with the depiction of their relationship, saying: "Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth."

"The re-imagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful," she added.

And now a month on, the actress has opened up even further about the time she shared with Tupac, and appeared to give an insight into the reasons she felt the biopic may have fallen short.

Speaking on Sway in the Morning on SiriusXM, Jada said: "It’s kind of hard because I haven’t really told the whole story."

"One of the things that’s very interesting that I’ve never really said before is that when I first met Pac, I was a drug dealer," she admitted.

"That’s how we started,” the mum-of-two explained, “Then as I was coming out, something very bad happened to me. As I was coming out of the life, he was coming more into the life."

"I know that most people wanna always connect us in this romance thing, but that's just because they don't have the story. But it was based in survival, how we held each other down, you know what I’m saying?"

"And when we have somebody that has your back when you feel like you're nothing, that's everything," she added.

Jada wed Will Smith in 1996 –  the same year Tupac was gunned down at the age of 25.

So, it's been 13 years since one of the greatest movies of the modern age hit our cinema screens, and yet not a week goes by when we don't consider wearing pink on Wednesdays.

Mean Girls will always hold a special place in our hearts, and now, it holds a special place in our makeup bags too.

Spectrum, a UK based makeup brush brand, are releasing a Mean Girls brush set, complete with its very own Burn Book.

But don't worry – this one isn't filled with accusations that anyone made out with a hot dog or has the amazing ability to surpress their gag reflex.

Instead it's filled with a collection of gorgeous pink and purple makeup brushes, and they're like, really pretty.

The collection launches with three options. The 10-piece brush set (without Burn Book), the 10-piece brush set with Burn Book bag, or the full size Burn Book which doesn't come with any brushes, but can hold up to 40.

What's more, Spectrum have confirmed that this is just phrase one of the collection, with more additions expected shortly.

The makeup brush set launches August 30 on Spectrum online.

Get in, loser. We’re going shopping.

Twitter users have been left baffled by Madame Tussauds' wax figure of Beyoncé – and honestly, it's not hard to see why.

Originally unveiled in 2014, the waxwork was recently returned to the New York museum after a stint in Orlando, Florida.

After Madame Tussauds' announced the return of Queen Bey this week, Twitter users were quick to point out that the wax figure's skin tone appeared to be several shades lighter than that of Beyoncé's.

What do you think?

Many disappointed fans listed a number of other celebrities with whom the figure shared a greater likeness.

Speaking to the Press Association, a spokeswoman for Madame Tussauds said:

“At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted,” she said.

“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”

And it looks like this isn't the first time sculptors have missed the mark.

Following Madame Tussauds' reveal, Twitter was flooded with other examples of wax museums failing to capture Bey's fierceness.

But really, this just proves what we all suspected – Beyoncé is one of a kind and impossible to recreate.

It has emerged that the suspect in the rape of a Spanish teenager in Dublin last weekend was out on bail at the time the alleged attack took place.

The 18-year-old student told Gardaí she was taken to a location close to Sandymount beach where she was restrained in a tent and subjected to multiple assaults over two days.

A 24-year-old man has since been arrested and released without charge and Gardaí are awaiting the results of DNA and forensic tests in relation to the allegations.

The teenager said she met the suspect on Dublin's Eden Quay on Saturday evening. It's understood that the man started up a conversation and suggested taking her to Sandymount beach after she told him she was interested in photography.

It is thought the suspect then took her to a remote area near flats where he brought her into a tent and raped her repeatedly throughout the night.

Detectives in Irishtown Garda Station launched an immediate investigation and the crime scene was cordoned off for a forensic examination.

They have also gathered CCTV footage from the boardwalk area, the Luas and near the Pigeon House.

The woman was taken to hospital and received a medical examination and her family have travelled from Spain to be with her at this time.

OJ Simpson, the former NFL star famously acquitted of the murder of ex-wife, Nicole Brown, but later jailed for armed robbery and assault with a weapon, is expected to be a free man soon.

The 70-year-old will today ask four members of the parole board to let him walk free in October, and given that he has a clean record behind bars, his request is likely to be granted.

The same four commissioners already granted OJ parole on the lesser charges of kidnapping, robbery and burglary at a hearing in July 2013, leaving him with a minimum nine years of his 33-year sentence.

According to The Guardian, the rate of inmates who are granted parole in discretionary hearings held as they approach their minimum sentence is around 82%.

OJ was convicted in 2008 after he and four other men attempted to retrieve sports memorabillia items that OJ claims were stolen from him.

"My crime was trying to retrieve for my family my own property," Simpson told the parole officials in 2013 before apologising.

"Make no mistake, I would give it all back, to get these last five years back."

At today's hearing, OJ is expected to explain where he would live and what he would do if he were to be granted parole.

Should parole be denied, OJ would be given another chance to plead his case in 2020.

Ed Sheeran has dismissed claims that his decision to delete and then reactivate his Twitter account was influenced by the negative comments he received following his Game of Thrones cameo.

The singer had tweeted a link to an Instragram photo of himself on set with actress Maisie Williams, with the caption “Throwback to the time I was a Lannister” – but some GoT fans were less than impressed by his performance.

Big up @maisie_williams

A post shared by Ed Sheeran (@teddysphotos) on

Just hours later, Ed deactivated his Twitter account, leading many fans to believe that he had done so in the wake of the backlash.

However, he has insisted that this was not the case and that "timing was just a coincidence."

On Wednesday he posted a photo of himself and his manager and wrote:

“Last i’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that. It’s clearly f*****’ awesome.”

“Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want. Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together.”

So, maybe it was a coincidence, maybe it was wasn't.

Either way, we're just glad to have you back Ed.

If there's one thing sure to raise blood pressure on a particular Thursday every year, it's the realisation that getting your hands on booze the following day will be next to impossible unless a forward-thinking friend had the foresight to stock up.

However, the Good Friday alcohol ban, which has been in place for 90 years, may soon become a thing of the past after the Seanad today passed a bill which called for the sale of alcohol on the religious holiday.

According to emerging reports, the bill was passed unanimously after the Government amended the new law to ensure it would not only apply to hotels, but pubs as well.

Commenting on the passing of The Intoxicating Liquor (Amendment) Bill, Senator Billy Lawless, said: "In my mind, the passage of today's bill is another progressive step in Ireland's long journey in the separation of church and State."

"It is understandable when lawmakers try to introduce legislation that changes a practice that has been in place for almost 100 years, people pause to reflect, yet this is what lawmaking is about."

"There is an affinity to the closed day but that affinity is in fact leading to alcohol abuse in many case," he added.

The legislation will be debated in the Dail following its summer break.

If there's one band that can divide opinion in Ireland like no other, it's U2.

While some of the nation's countrymen take great pride in one of our most famous exports, there are others (and we know you know dozens) who would like to tell Bono exactly where to stick those shades of his.

Despite this undisputed difference of opinion, we're fairly confident that people from both sides of the U2 fence who happen upon this cover will be as enthralled with it as we are.

Performed by New Airs, this spinetingling version of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is created using a combination of cello quartet, voice and percussion, and it has been giving us chills all afternoon.

Arranged by Irish composer and music producer, Glen Austin, this is a version of the classic which you really need to hear.

Universal Standard, a clothing line which caters for women between sizes 10-28, are all about setting the standard.

Indeed, their online mission statement declares: "We had become tired of making compromises, of always settling for what "worked" instead of what we really wanted, of sacrificing freedom of choice and personal style because of an arbitrary dividing line determined by size."

We call it our wear-anywhere dress. It's the Crepe Geneva. Shop the look. Link in bio.

"No more compromising. It's time to #SetTheStandard," they insist.

And it looks like they are no longer happy to simply set the standard when it comes to a woman's wardrobe, now have their sights set on her jewellery box.

Your style. Your size. Our limited edition jewelry collection is finally here! Made specifically for you. #nowyoucan

A post shared by Universal Standard (@universalstandard) on

Speaking to Glamour magazine, the brand's co-founder,  Alexandra Waldman, explained that mainstream jewellery has often presented issues for both herself and their plus-sizes customers.

“I know from personal experience that finding beautiful modern pieces of jewellery that fit and look native to my body type is nearly impossible,” she said.

• Why can't I find jewelry that fits without some cheap adjustable closure?#nowyoucan (launching tomorrow!)

A post shared by Universal Standard (@universalstandard) on

“Even longer necklaces don’t fall in the right spot on the front of the body -everything tends to look clipped, cheap, or semi-disposable."

“I’m a grown woman – I don’t want to wear an adjustable ring that I have to squeeze together around my finger," she reasoned.

And with clothes and jewellery under their belt, Universal Standard aren't content to sit on their laurels.

"Jewellery is just the beginning. We want women above size 10 to feel like they have options, like things are getting better all the time. That's our reason for being."

And the pieces are far from pricey, with most starting at approximately €35.00.
