Twitter users have been left baffled by Madame Tussauds' wax figure of Beyoncé – and honestly, it's not hard to see why.

Originally unveiled in 2014, the waxwork was recently returned to the New York museum after a stint in Orlando, Florida.

After Madame Tussauds' announced the return of Queen Bey this week, Twitter users were quick to point out that the wax figure's skin tone appeared to be several shades lighter than that of Beyoncé's.

What do you think?

Many disappointed fans listed a number of other celebrities with whom the figure shared a greater likeness.

Speaking to the Press Association, a spokeswoman for Madame Tussauds said:

“At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted,” she said.

“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”

And it looks like this isn't the first time sculptors have missed the mark.

Following Madame Tussauds' reveal, Twitter was flooded with other examples of wax museums failing to capture Bey's fierceness.

But really, this just proves what we all suspected – Beyoncé is one of a kind and impossible to recreate.

A wax figure of Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell has officially been launched at Madame Tussauds in Los Angeles.

However, this is not the first time the In Bruges star has been made into a wax figure. There are other versions of the Castleknock born star at the Hollywood Wax Museum and in various similar museums across the globe.

We would like to say well done to who ever made the actor’s LA figurine doppelganger – it is the image of the Irish star. However, we’re not sure the tweed jacket really represent the actor’s style, considering he was previously spotted out and about wearing his pyjamas.

It looks like the unveiling of the wax figure is only the start of things to come for the star in 2014.

He has just finished his promotional duties for Saving Mr Banks and will be presenting an award at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Oh and did we mention he’s currently busy earning a string of BAFTA, SAG and Golden Globe nominations for his role in the Disney film?
