Little Mix performed in Dublin last night in front of a sold out crowd.

However, one member of the band wasn't content with spending her night in Dublin snoozing in the hotel room.

Documenting her night on Instagram, Perrie Edwards made a surprise appearance at Sophies at The Dean in Dublin, and she wasn't alone.

The Little Mix member got a massive surprise when her boyfriend, Liverpool footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, turned up to see her.

Perrie was clearly not expecting Alex to show up, as she captioned one of her Instagram selfies with 'what a pleasant surprise' on her story.

Perrie shared a number of filter-heavy videos of their night at the Harcourt Street venue.

The couple enjoyed a night at the rooftop bar, and of course had to get a loved-up snap on Sophie's infamous swings.

I mean, did you even go to Sophies if you didn't get a picture on the swings?

Sia has made a major statement about the paparazzi invading the privacy of celebs.

After discovering that the paparazzi were attempting to sell naked images of the star, Sia pulled a major plot twist and published the image herself.

Taking to Twitter, the song-writer posted a screenshot of her nude image to her 3.38 million followers.

‘Someone is apparently trying to sell naked photos of me to my fans.’

‘Save your money, here it is for free. Everyday is Christmas!’ the 41-year-old captioned the post.

It is clear in the image that Sia is unaware of the photographer, as her back is turned to the camera.

Along with a preview of the image, the seller wrote this message:

‘If you make the purchase it will be unblurred and you receive and additional 14 images.’

The star also posted the pic to Instagram.

Have you wondered how you can read text messages from another phone?

Much to the despair of many social media users, popular app Snapchat went down last night.

The image-sharing app was unusable for a number of hours, as the app would not refresh or allow users to send snaps.

The Snapchat support page tweeted out to the thousands who had gone online en masse to question what was happening with the app.

'We're aware of the issue and working on a fix,' read a Twitter statement from the app last night.

'Stay tuned for updates! We recommend staying logged into your account.'

Social media was of course in uproar over the issue, which has since been rectified:

Today will see the second day of industrial action by Iarnród Éireann employees.

Employees went on strike today, leaving up to 150,000 commuters to find alternative means of transport and completely halting the country's rail travel system.

Strikers are calling for a 'no-strings attached' pay rise of 3.75pc per annum.

No train services – including Intercity, DART and Commuter routes – will run.

This is the second of five bouts of strike action from the transport company.

Further strike action will also occur on a Tuesday November 14.

This date will hit those outside of Dublin who plan to travel up for the Ireland v Denmark World Cup Play-off at Lansdowne Road.

There will also be strike action on Thursday November 23, and again on December 8.

Strikes could continue into the Christmas season if an agreement is not reached.

At this stage, we're all well aware of the negative effects a poor night's sleep can have on our mind and body.

Concentration levels are at an all time low, irritability is through the roof, and what was once a routine daily task now seems like impossible feat.

According to a new study, a lack of sleep can actually produce similar effects on the brain as alcohol consumption.

It seems that both states of being cause neurons to respond more slowly, meaning brain signals are slower and weaker.

For the study, researchers examined 12 tired epileptic patients who had electrodes implanted into their brains to pinpoint the origin of their seizures.

According to The Independent, Professor Itzhak Fried, from the University of California at Los Angeles, said: “We discovered that starving the body of sleep also robs neurons of the ability to function properly.”

“This paves the way for cognitive lapses in how we perceive and react to the world around us.”

She also argues that regulations should be put in place in order to stop over-tired drivers from getting behind the wheel.

“Inadequate sleep exerts a similar influence on our brain as drinking too much. Yet no legal or medical standards exist for identifying over-tired drivers on the road the same way we target drunk drivers.”

Participants were asked to stay up all night in order to trigger an epileptic episode before undergoing surgery.

They were then tasked with categorising a selection of images as fast as possible while implants recorded their brain activity.

Results showed that a lack of sleep caused the neurons to respond to visual stimulus at a much slower place, while transmissions were found to drag on longer than normal.

What's more, scientists also discovered that some sections of the participants brain were still in a sleep-like state, even while the rest of the brain appeared to be awake.

“Slow sleep-like waves disrupted the patients' brain activity and performance of tasks,” said Prof Fried.

“This phenomenon suggests that select regions of the patients' brains were dozing, causing mental lapses, while the rest of the brain was awake and running as usual.”

Night-night, ladies!

With the Christmas season  just around the colour, and the days of sandals and sun cream all but a distant memory, it's high time we start planning those last minute winter getaways.

Whether you've got a few days of annual leave still left to use, or you just fancy weekend break, there are plenty of gorgeous destinations across Europe just waitng to be explored.

From the ice caves of Reykjavik to the beer gardens of Munich, here's our top five picks.

1. Reykjavik, Iceland

Often described as a "small city with a big soul," the world's most northerly capital packs an impressive amount of culture into it's 103,000 square kilometres.

It's breathtaking landscape and bustling city-centre create a uniquely satisfying atmosphere that keep tourists coming back year and year.

Whether you're exploring the blue ice caves, gazing at the Northern Lights, or taking a dip in one of the island nation's natural hot springs, the Icelandic capital is bursting with attractions that simply won't be found in any other country.

2. Zagreb, Croatia

When people think of Croatia, there are a few things that spring to mind (summer holidays, Game of Thrones etc. etc.), none of which have anything to do with winter holidays.

However, that could all be about to change, because Zagreb's Christmas markets have been voted the Best in Europe for two years running.

During the advent season, the city's streets come alive with colour, lights and music, with celebrations waiting around every corner.

But don't be fooled by the country's mild summer climate. Temperatures in the Croatian capital can drop to as low as 1 degrees during the winter months.

3. Munich, Germany

No winter gateway list would be complete without a visit to the home of traditional Christmas market – and while there are tonnes of German cities worth visiting this year, Munich offer visitors a unique, (and often less crowded) festive experience.

Highlights include The Tollwood Winter Festival, which combines a traditional market atmosphere with a much more modern look into the German arts and crafts scene.

With hundreds of Mediterranean-style street cafes, Mitteleuropa beer halls and must-see museums dotted around Germany's unofficial southern capital, visitors are never short of things to do.

4. Krakow, Poland

While Krakow remains a popular tourist destination all year round, it's fairytale streets and medieval market square really come alive in the winter months.

Snow-covered horse carriages and glowing Christmas markets transform the city into one of Europe's most picturesque winter wonderlands.

Sample the best of Polish cusine (think warm stews and fried potato cakes), or take in the rich history, before heading out to see what the city's nightlife has to offer.

Just remember to wrap up warm. Temperatures often drop as low as -3 degrees in December, meaning you'll need to pack all the winter woollies you can get your hands on.

5. Rovaniemi, Finland

Commonly known as the official home of Santa Clause himself, this small Finnish city offers the ultimate festive experience for Christmas lovers of all ages.

Whether you're enjoying the Northern Lights over a cosy campfire or taking a stroll around the city's streets (which FYI, have been designed in the shape of a reindeer's head), this hub of northern culture is the perfect destination for those seeking a relaxing yet action-packed break.

Oh, and did we mention they throw one hell of a New Year's Eve Party

Last week, a photograph of cyclist, Juli Briskman, went viral, and this week, that same photograph cost her her job.

The 50-year-old, who became a social media sensation after deciding to flip off President Trump's motorcade, was informed that her decision to do so meant that she could not stay under the employ of government contracting firm, Akima LLC.

Aware that the publicity surrounding the photograph could have detrimental implications, Juli approached her employers and confirmed that she was the woman in the photograph.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, Juli explained that her decision to come clean resulted in her dismissal, saying: "They said, 'We're separating from you'."

"Basically, you cannot have 'lewd' or 'obscene' things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off 'obscene.'"

Juli, who chose to make the image her profile picture on both Facebook and Twitter, ultimately violated Akima's social media policy, despite the fact her place of employment is not listed on her social media pages nor was she working at the time the photo was taken.

Speaking to the Washinton Post, Juli insists that she does not regret her decision despite it costing her her job.

"I flipped off the motorcade a number of times," she admitted before adding: "I'd do it again."

If you recently found yourself utterly enthralled by Netflix series Mindhunter, you probably have one or two questions about one particular element of the crime-based show.

And that element involves psychology professor Wendy Carr, a stray cat and a tin of tuna. We're right, aren't we?

While the series featured a number of utterly disturbing exchanges between Agent Ford, Agent Tench and multiple high-profile serial killers, there's no doubt that viewers were also left thoroughly unsettled by scenes which played out in Professor Carr's laundry room.

While it seemed the scenes between the psychology professor and her feline visitor would ultimately reach a crescendo, the first series came to an end without any resolution or explanation for the time dedicated to the laundry room.

Commenting on this apparent loose end, Anna Torv, who plays Wendy Carr, recently told Esquire: "I think it's open to interpretation."

"At first I thought, 'Okay, is this representing all the faceless people that get taken by these killers every day?" she questioned.

"This little thing [the stray cat] that no-one cares about – I mean, we find out about people that have been murdered because they have families who tell the police, but there are homeless people and prostitutes and street kids that nobody is missing, and serial killers target."

However, it seems Anna isn't entirely convinced by the symbolic explanation and invites viewers to consider the practical implications of the burgeoning storyline.

"Is there a serial killer in Wendy's building who's slowly starting out, and testing his bloodlust on feral kittens?" the actress wondered. "I think there are a lot of ways it could go."

Sounds like we'll have to stay tuned in that case…

Taking to Instagram, Kim revealed that she would release three new perfumes later this month.

Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Citrus, and Crystal Gardenia Oud, will be available from kkwfragrance.com from November 15 and if the contour kits are anything to go by, we're guessing stocks won't last long.

As Hollywood stars go, Robert Pattison tends to fly under the radar, for the most part.

Despite becoming a household name as a teenager and enduring a high-profile break-up with former co-star, Kristen Stewart, Robert appears to have maintained a fairly stable equilibrium in a notoriously difficult industry.

Discussing this during a recent interview with The Telegraph, the 31-year-old credits regular therapy and a positive social circle for his triumphs.

"I had good agents and stuff and I’ve had really good friends since the beginning," he explained.

"So I think when it gets dangerous for people is when you have no friends and you think, ‘Oh, if I get strangers to love me then it will fill that hole’. And then when it doesn’t fill the hole then you go 10 times crazier."

Like many in the spotlight, Robert says he has benefitted massively from seeing a therapist – an element of his life he says left his parents relatively stunned.

"I was like, ‘Why is that a bad thing?'” he remembers. “There’s just this weird stigma. It’s so strange… But I think it’s a sort of throwback attitude.”

An advocate of seeking help and guidance when necessary, the Twilight star was quick to communicate the importance therapy plays in his life, simply saying: “I don’t know how you’re supposed to do… life without it.”

Downtown Abbey actress, Daisy Lewis, has taken to Twitter in recent days in order to express her distaste over remarks made about her in a feature in Tatler magazine.

In the November issue of the publication,  the magazine wrote: "As Daisy is quite small, you might be tricked into believing she's quiet. LOL. She isn't. This actress is loud. Which makes her fun at a party. And in bed. Probably."

Sharing an image of the offending caption, the actress, who plays Sarah Bunting in the drama, admitted she was left stunned by the misogyny at play in the piece.

"I'm really shocked and upset by this. But thankfully I'm 'loud' enough to say it. Does anyone at Tatler read the news?" she asked in a tweet which has amassed almost 8,000 likes.

While Tatler subsequently apologised to the actress in light of her tweet, Daisy went on to tell The Huffington Post that her inclusion in a feature entitled Little Black Book, which purports to showcase the smartest, sexiest singles on the planet, left her cold.

"I know the girls who wrote it," she said. "The fact that it's women writing that about other women is what upset me the most, really. And to think that is was funny. I genuinely believe that the people who wrote it thought I would be pleased."

"That's what makes me so sad, that they thought I would have been pleased to be included on a list of eligible – and for eligible to mean marriageable – people, as a sort of catalogue. It feels like being part of a horse trade show or something."

Members of the public have responded to Daisy's tweet in their droves, with one writing: "It's utterly appalling isn't it? Even in today's world this is still startlingly misogynistic."

"This is sickening," added another. "Whoever wrote that should be sacked along w/ the editor that approved it. Sorry they tried to reduce you in such a manner."
