His talent competition may be on the rocks, but it seems that Simon Cowell is still feeling very generous.

The music mogul has just donated 31 thousand euro to the cancer fund of Kian Musgrove, a 3-year-old from the UK who is suffering from his second bout of cancer.

The X Factor creator reportedly donated the money to a fundraising campaign by the family to raise 700 thousand euro for immunotherapy treatment in the US.

And not only is Simon donating the cash into the fund, he also offered to pay for the family's flights to the States where the treatment for the disease can take place.

See, he's not so scary after all.

"I can’t believe it, I have tears streaming down my face," said Kian's mom Kat to Chronicle Live.

"He just called up and said he wanted to help and said he would drop 25,000 pounds into our fundraising account.

"I’m still trying to get my head around it all. He was so nice and kind and just said he wanted to do something to help."

The donation comes after an online campaign began using the hashtag #getkiantosimon.

And according to the child's donation page, the family are already nearly three-quarters of the way towards their target of just over 700 thousand euro.

Simon has a young son of his own, Eric, who has just turned two.

Well done, Simo.

It's been a massive 13 years since Love Actually was first released, and it's still one of our favourite Christmas/hangover day movies ever.

One of the sweetest plotlines from the Richard Curtis film has to be the love story between Downing St housekeeper Natalie, played by Martine McCutcheon and the Prime Minister, played by rom-com veteran Hugh Grant.

Okay, there was a relatively shaky attempt to combine UK-USA relations with a love triangle featuring the PM, the US President and Natalie, but leaving that aside, it's pretty darn sweet. The scenes where David trawls through all of Wandsworth ("the dodgy end") looking for Natalie's house? Adorable.

So we were delighted to see that Hugh and Martine are still pally 13 years on, and even more excited to see them actually attending the same event in London on Tuesday night.

A whole heap of stars gathered at the British Film Institute's Chairman's Dinner last night to see Hugh accept his Fellowship Prize for outstanding contribution to the industry, and the proudest among them had to be his former co-star Martine.

"Well done Hugh – I was so honoured to be there with you," she wrote on Instagram yesterday.

"It was a beautiful, intimate evening and Hugh so deserves the honour. He is a reluctant movie star – but a a rare gem all the same who makes the whole acting process look like the most natural thing in the world… The best kind of acting in my book…"

Also showing his support was Love Actually hero Bill Nighy, looking dapper as ever in a pair of black-rimmed specs:

Anyone else dying to go and watch Christmas movies right now?

Former Eurovision winner Linda Martin isn't setting her sights high for Nicky Byrne's competition entry.

The 68-year-old slammed the song, Sunlight, and said she doesn't believe the ex Westlife singer has it in him to win.

Not to be too mean, Linda said that he'll almost get there… but not quite.

"I have heard Nicky and I wish him the very best… I think we will make it out of the semi-final but I don't think we'll win," she told the Herald.

"I have only seen Nicky's song – I haven't heard or seen anybody else's song so I'm a little bit behind things this year."

We're not sure what she means by "seen the song," but sure here's hoping Nicky will go far for us this year.

In news that's possibly the best EVER, McDonald's are giving away free breakfasts tomorrow. Yes, FREE.

The lads and lassies in all of the Irish McDonald's stores will serve up a Bacon and Egg McMuffin or a Sausage and Egg McMuffin until 10am – so if you're not an early riser you might want to set your alarm clock.

All 89 stores are taking part since the demand was so huge from last years's Free Breakfast Friday. A massive total of 60,000 McMuffins were snapped up in 2015.

What a way to welcome you to the weekend, huh?

A children's beauty pageant has invited Katie Price's daughter, Princess, to take part in the competition – and it looks like she might accept.

The 8-year-year in being lined up for the Toddlers and Tiara's type pageant which is to be held in either Dublin or Cork.

Katie's daughter recently came under fire for wearing make-up and sharing the picture on social media, but Katie insists that it's her decision if she wants to put on lipstick or not.

The Irish competition is going to be held by an American company, Universal Royalty Beauty Pageant, and the show's host seems to think it would be the best idea for Princess to accept the invite.

“I know Katie’s daughter has been invited to go to another pageant in the US… But she doesn’t need to go to all that trouble and expense, because I’ll be bringing America to Ireland,” Annette Hill told Goss.

Katie will certainly be an interesting show mom.

The public went MENTAL last week when the Luas took industrial action and went on strike for 48-hours.

But now, a decision is expected to be made today on whether there's a basis for carrying on with realistic negotiations over the Luas drivers pay rise.

SIPTU and Transdev both spoke separately yesterday at the Workplace Relations Commission, where SIPTU spokesman Eoin Reidy sais the union is prepared to negotiate.

"We've always said that that's an opening position, we've always said we're prepared to negotiate, we've always said we're prepared to moderate that and compromise," he said.

"That position has always been the case, the problem up to now is we haven't had a partner in the employer to negotiate with. We hope that changes, but it remains to be seen."

The light rail company is also planning on further strike action on March 8 and St Patrick's Day if no negotiations are made.

The MenB, or Meningococcal B, vaccine has been getting a lot of press of late. This morning it's become the subject of some very significant news thanks to the power of an online petition, but the campaign is far from over.

Children in the Republic of Ireland can currently only receive the MenB vaccine – which protects against the leading bacterial cause of meningitis and septicaemia – privately, meaning it can incur costs of up to €280 or more.

Over the last number of weeks, Irish parenting site MummyPages has been petitioning for the MenB vaccine to be available for free to all children in the Republic of Ireland, and last night Minister for Health Leo Varadkar revealed funding had been allocated for it to be rolled out this year.

"Men B vaccinations start this year. Funding is allocated & deal currently being negotiated with producer," he wrote in a tweet to MummyPages' mum-in-residence Laura Haugh.

However, there are NO PLANS to introduce a catch up programme for young babies and children who were born before this time.

“The introduction of Meningococcal B into the Primary Childhood Immunisation Schedule in Q4 2016 is for newborns at 2, 4 and 13 months of age. There are no plans at this time to introduce a catch-up programme,” explained the Health Protection Unit

The parents of UK toddler Faye Burdett highlighted the tragic importance of vaccinating children against MenB recently, when they released photos of their two-year-old daughter before and after meningitis took hold of her, leading to her death on February 14, 2016.

Babies in the UK are now vaccinated against MenB, but the changes to policy came in too late to save Faye.

Irish children currently routinely receive the MenC vaccine, but the same weight is not applied to MenB, despite it being the biggest cause of infant illness in this country.

If you want to add your voice to the MummyPages campaign, you can do so by signing the petition here.

Hundreds of Father Ted fans are flocking to TedFest on Inishmore island this weekend for a few days of hardcore Father Ted-ism.

The festival started in 2007, and diehard fans dress up for the whole weekend, along with taking part in competitions and silent discos (because you can't disturb the nuns).

It seems like mighty craic and with only 300 tourist beds available on the island, obsessed fans scramble to get tickets each year.

Looking at a few videos though, we might try our arm at it next year. Who doesn't want to take part in the lovely girls competition anyway?!

Honestly, they were amusing at first, but Kanye is taking his Twitter rants a bit too far now.

This time he hit out at the Grammy Awards, then tried to shut down concerns about his mental health, and he also made a really big promise we doubt he's going to keep.

He started off with trying to reach out to Neil Portnow, the president of the Recording Academy:

He then accused the Academy of racism:

Next, Kanye tried to tell the world that he's not crazy:

Then he made THIS statement:

And a promise he certainly won't keep. Come on Kanye, you JUST released a new album a few days ago:

All we're wondering is how the HELL Kim puts up with this.

Khloe Kardashian just got busted for photoshopping her gym seflie… and she's not happy.

After receiving abuse on the Instagram picture, she quickly deleted it, but a few hours later took to the social media site with the unretouched image saying, "If only hatin burned calories how dope yall would be. Too bad it doesn't. Here's the OG shot. The petty movement ain't cute. Oh and I almost forgot… Namaste."

By posting the original image, Khloe made it obvious that very little was photoshopped anyway, just a small part of her thigh.

The reality star didn't touch her tummy area, which we have to say is slaying. Koko, you're killing it.
