They may have decided to momentarily press pause on the One Direction journey, but that doesn't mean the lads from the biggest boy band in the world didn't absolutely rake it in over the last 12 months.

According to Forbes, who provides the public with an annual list of the world's highest-earning celebrities, Niall, Louis, Liam and Harry, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2010, were Europe's highest paid celebrities in 2016.

Yep, that's right – despite going on hiatus, the four lads raked in a staggering $110 million last year.

The earnings, which came from endorsements with Colgate and Pepsi in addition to the last leg of their On The Road Again tour, meant that they pipped footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and our beloved Adele to the post when it came to bank balances.

The calculations are based on a number of rankings from organisations such as Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick and IMDB.

Everyone know what the McCallister's mansion looks like in Home Alone, right? And everyone remembers what Monica and Chandler's new home in Friends looked like, yeah?

Well, did you know that when Monica and Chandler decided to up sticks and ditch the big city back in 2004, they actually moved into Kevin's gaf from the classic holiday movie?

No, us neither.

If we cast our mind back to the moment Monica and Chandler went to view their new home in Westchester, we don't recall noticing any connection to the McCallisters, but apparently we just needed to up our game.

According to a YouTube upload from 22 Vision, the production team for the hit sitcom decided to use stock footage from the 1990 movie as their exterior backdrop, and didn't imagine anyone would notice.

And they didn't… until now.

Just like the rest of us, it looks like Una Healy has been getting in some much-deserved family time over the Christmas period – well, if her latest snap is anything to go by.

The Tipperary-native took to Instagram recently, to share an adorable picture of her two kids – Tadgh and Aoife Belle – hanging out with their granddad and a couple of dogs!

Using the hashtag 'Granddadtime', the 34-year-old, who is married to Bed Foden, 31, captioned the photo: "Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine", and fans couldn't get enough.

"Awh, @unahealy Happy Christmas to Dr. Healy and Anne! Hope ye all have a great time at home," wrote another.

Una is clearly loving life as a mum, but it seems like two is the magic number for her as she previously admitted that she is unlikely to have more children.

“It’s tough and really hard work. I’m just so happy with two.”

In a move which had Twitter users falling all over themselves this week, president-elect, Donald Trump, only went and thanked himself for what he considers a job well done.

Referring to a recent statistic, the billionaire business tycoon wrote: "The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS! Thanks Donald!"

That's right – he actually wrote 'Thanks Donald'.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter have wasted no time ripping it out of Trump, and frankly they're doing an amazing job.

We'll let them take it from here…

Rory Cowan, who entertains millions with his role in Mrs Brown's Boys, has opened up about the barrage of homophobic abuse he has received on Twitter.

Speaking on Today with Katie Hannon on RTÉ Radio One, the popular actor revealed that he had been compared to prolific ex offender Jimmy Savile by online trolls.

Opening up about the extent of the online abuse, Rory admitted that the level of abuse he received left him shaken.

"This was so vicious and so quick, it was like a kick in the stomach," he told the show's host.

"I was actually sick to my stomach, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and all because of one response I gave to a tweet."

Elaborating on the nature of the anonymous tweets he received, Rory said: "One person said ‘I saw you at the hospital with the kids, shades of Jimmy Savile off you."

"If I had a child in hospital I would take them out if it they were going to be presented with people like you," the anonymous user added.

The actor confirmed that he has sought legal advice from his solicitor who, with the help of the Gardaí, is trying to establish whether the posts originated in Ireland or overseas.

We're fond of a glass of bubbly around SHEmazing! Towers way – so suffice to say one just-announced supermarket offer has really caught our attention.

Yup, Tesco is currently selling bottles of Borsari at a wholly bargain €7. *STOCK UP!*

It's usually €12 too so this is definitely a great value-for-money option for those who want to toast the arrival of the New Year on a budget (Stephen's Day in the pub took the last of our pennies).

Still, if your aunt slipped you a couple of fifties late on Christmas Day and you want to go all fancy, Tesco also has Louis Delaunay champagne priced at €20; Mumm champagne at €25, and Moet & Chandon champagne at €30.

Otherwise, litre bottles of Captain Morgan’s, Gordon’s gin and Smirnoff vodka are €25.

Just days after she revealed that she had made it onto the Queen's New Year's Honours list, Victoria Beckham has been criticised for 'betraying etiquette' by leaking the news before its official unveiling.

Taking aim at the mum-of-four, whose contribution to charity and the fashion industry will be officially recognised next year, Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said that the star had discredited the system by revealing all.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he explained: "Nominees are sworn to secrecy, so she has broken the first rule of being offered the honour."

"It would appear to be a breach of protocol and perhaps raises questions over her suitability that she has leaked her own nomination. This further discredits our honours system."

Echoing Mr Bridgen, fellow Tory MP, Peter Bone, expressed distaste for Victoria's decision to breach protocol on the matter.

"It is certainly a betrayal of etiquette, it is just not done. It is just wrong and I don’t understand why anyone would leak something like that," he argued.

"To get an honour is extremely important and it might well be for a very good reason but you just don’t leak it. Full stop."

According to numerous media outlets, Victoria announced the news to her family during a vacation in the Maldives over the festive period.

"She is especially thrilled that her philanthropic work as a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador, creating a voice and awareness for women with HIV that suffer prejudice and discrimination has been recognised in this way," a source close to the family confirmed.

We'd say she's facepalming pretty hard today.

At the start of each new year, the talk is all about how to tackle those New Year’s resolutions: how to be a better version of ourselves – healthier, slimmer, fitter, happier, more successful, confident, and so on. All are reasonable goals; ones that people the world over tackle with gusto from the first week of the new year until the point at which they feel that they are falling short of their aims and give up. We often fail to see those New Year’s Resolutions through to completion because there is one thing that we all need to do before we start out on any quest for success.

Accept yourself – just as you are, right here, right now.

“What? Why on earth would I accept myself when I still haven’t managed to lose that stone, find a partner, take the leap into the career I really want, or manage to conquer my fear of making presentations at work?”

Because accepting yourself is the only honest, true and useful starting point in life. It means acknowledging where you are right now and being ok with that; accepting all your strengths and all your flaws, letting go of the need to be perfect and understanding that perfect does not even exist. It means embracing the fullness of your character and looking at your strengths with a sense of joy and your failings with a sense of affection. Fading down the thoughts in your head that tell you that you will be good enough when you are fitter, richer, smarter.

amazing flawless fabulous simple plan glorious

It means recognising that, actually, you are enough – right now, just as you are; that as a human being you already tick all the boxes and make the grade – you do not fall short. You don’t need to prove anything, or impress anyone, or achieve anything – you are enough right now. It means acknowledging that at times you will be funny, smart, kind, loving, creative, energised and hard-working. Other times you will be cranky, scared, tired, mean, distracted and de-motivated. All are part of the complexity of being human, and all are ok.

Accepting yourself doesn’t mean that you give up on wanting to improve your health or enhance your career; it just means that you realise that you are not less than just because you have not yet achieved these goals.

So, consider letting this be the new you this New Year – accepting that as a human being you are good enough just as you are. Then watch how this realisation acts like a big old hug for all the times in your life when you felt less than, and sets you up for a kinder, calmer, more contented future.

As far as millions of people are concerned, Grammy Award-winning group, Destiny's Child, consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

But for the die-hard fans among us, we know that the group once included La Tavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett – both of whom featured in the band's earlier tracks including No,No,No and Bills, Bills, Bills.

And while there have been whisperings for years over the nature of the girls' departure, La Tavia's recent interview with People magazine confirms that the pair were dismissed – and had no idea it was coming.

Recalling the moment she realised she was no longer part of the band, LaTavia told the publication: "It was very difficult because of the way that I found out about it. I hate even talking about it, and it's been 20 years – but it is what it is."

"We saw the Say My Name video on TV, and that's how I found out I was no longer in the group," LaTavia, now 35, explained referring to the band's track which featured two new members Farrah and Michelle.

"I never left Destiny's Child. That is something that people say. But who would leave Destiny's Child? That's crazy! I was dismissed from the group." she added.

Explaining that her issue was with the band's manager, Mathew Knowles, La Tavia insists she regrets how the situation played out in the aftermath of her shock dismissal.

"It was very difficult. I'm pretty sure that it was difficult for all of us – because we were young. My issue was always with the management; it was never with the girls."

"You're no longer with your friends, people that you love so much. So that was hard in itself, and then being by myself at that time, when other aspects starting taking a hold of me, it led me into a depression. And it wasn't pretty," she admitted.

LaTavia insists she wishes her former bandmates well today.

Former TOWIE star Sam Faiers took to Instagram today to share a gorgeous photo of her son, Pau,l on his first birthday (we can't believe he is one already either!).

The 25-year-old paid tribute to her "best friend" in a post that has been liked more than 32K times, and uploaded a gorgeous photo of her son as a newborn.

Captioning the photo, she wrote: "Happy 1st birthday my beautiful baby. This has been the most amazing time of my life."

"You are our world. I can't describe in words my feelings for you. You are the happiest, cuddliest, cutest baby I know.

"Thank you for making us so proud Paul."

Not surprisingly, Sam's 1.6 million-strong following were quick to wish the youngster a happy birthday.

"Aww happy first birthday Paul! Beautiful boy and a beautiful family!" wrote one, while another commented: "Gosh he's such a gorgeous baby!"

The author, who has been in a relationship with Paul Knightley since 2014, is clearly adoring every minute of motherhood, even after a hectic and, at times, controversial few months.
