Burn! LaTavia didn’t know she’d been FIRED from Destiny’s Child

As far as millions of people are concerned, Grammy Award-winning group, Destiny's Child, consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

But for the die-hard fans among us, we know that the group once included La Tavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett – both of whom featured in the band's earlier tracks including No,No,No and Bills, Bills, Bills.

And while there have been whisperings for years over the nature of the girls' departure, La Tavia's recent interview with People magazine confirms that the pair were dismissed – and had no idea it was coming.

Recalling the moment she realised she was no longer part of the band, LaTavia told the publication: "It was very difficult because of the way that I found out about it. I hate even talking about it, and it's been 20 years – but it is what it is."

"We saw the Say My Name video on TV, and that's how I found out I was no longer in the group," LaTavia, now 35, explained referring to the band's track which featured two new members Farrah and Michelle.

"I never left Destiny's Child. That is something that people say. But who would leave Destiny's Child? That's crazy! I was dismissed from the group." she added.

Explaining that her issue was with the band's manager, Mathew Knowles, La Tavia insists she regrets how the situation played out in the aftermath of her shock dismissal.

"It was very difficult. I'm pretty sure that it was difficult for all of us – because we were young. My issue was always with the management; it was never with the girls."

"You're no longer with your friends, people that you love so much. So that was hard in itself, and then being by myself at that time, when other aspects starting taking a hold of me, it led me into a depression. And it wasn't pretty," she admitted.

LaTavia insists she wishes her former bandmates well today.
