If you've ever found yourself burying your head in your hands as you tried to calculate how much cash you splashed in Copper Face Jacks the previous night, you're definitely not alone.

Binning the countless receipts you find buried at the bottom of your handbag on a Sunday morning is standard procedure for many of us, and after learning how much the Harcourt Street hotspot rakes in every week, we're probably doing the right thing.

According to a report in the Irish Examiner, the nightclub's profits have increased considerably since last year, with the iconic spot currently taking in approximately €100,000 PER WEEK.

That's right, ladies. Those rounds of shots aren't sounding so appealing now, are they?

It has been established that the popular club has seen an 8.6 per cent increase since last year, with gross profits increasing from €10.45 million to a staggering 11.35 million.

Excuse us… we might just need a stiff drink.

Dublin City Council has given the green light to plans to demolish Apollo House.

The Apollo House office building, which previously stood empty, is currently being occupied by the Home Sweet Home coalition of housing activists and homeless people.

The building is currently operating to capacity, and provides food and shelter to those in need

The Tara Street building is part of a €50,000,000 plan, set in motion back in June, for redevelopment of the area, which will include new offices and a public plaza.

Hawkins House next door may also be redeveloped.

"It's right and appropriate the artist community are standing up and saying we need to change our ways so everyone can live in this city…It's impossible to live at the moment. You can’t rent here,"  said Green Party leader Eamon Ryan.

He believes that while the occupation of the site would not solve the homeless crisis, it was a step in the right direction.

"It's is a symbolic step, but an important step to say we need to be doing more."

The Home Sweet Home volunteers are currently sheltering up to 35 occupants a night at Apollo House, but say that their capacity could be increased to 60.

People have taken to Twitter to express their outrage over the demolition plans.

It's official. The Electoral College of America has conclusively voted in Donald J Trump as the president of the United States.

Trump successfully surpassed the 270 electoral votes he needed to become president.

The Electoral College is a method used in the US to ensure that smaller states with a lower population carry an equal weight in the voting, which is what caused Trump to win the presidency despite political rival Hillary Clinton securing over 2.8 million more votes.

Trump's November 9 win came as a shock to those who firmly believed Hillary would win, and ended one of the most divisive political debates in American history.

Anti-Trump protestors rallied outside the The Electoral College house chambers and chanted “save our democracy."

Hillary has secured 166 votes so far.

The results of the vote will be officially be declared on January 6.

Fans of Fifth Harmony were left stunned this week when news broke that Camila Cabello had decided to leave the band… without confiding in her band mates first.

Releasing a statement to the press and public on social media, the four remaining singers claimed that Camila's decision was only shared with them through her representatives – a claim which Camila vehemently denied on Twitter last night.

Taking to her own social media channel, Camila insisted that her former band mates were well aware that she intended to part ways with the band.

"I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing," Camila wrote. "The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future we had during the tour."

"Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was 'leaving the group; is simply not true," she continued in the lengthy post which has racked up a staggering 170,000 likes since its upload last night.

"Just like the other girls said in their statement abut their plans, I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavours in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way."

"As sad as it is to see this chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group. I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness."

And if Camila's post wasn't enough to send the Fifth Harmony camp into overdrive, a leaked audio which seems to feature Lauren Jauregui and Ally Hernandez is currently circulating online, and it does not paint the best picture of the Fifth Harmony experience.

"They're making decisions on a regular basis to f*** us over! To make us literal slaves! Literally slaves, Ally." a female voice believed to be Lauren exclaims. "We're doing f***ing labor every day and we see nothing!"

Between the drug possession, the departure and the tape, this has got to be one of the most dramatic weeks in Fifth Harmony history.

With her new movie Passengers to promote and an Oscar to her name, we're sure that boyfriends are the last thing on Jennifer Lawrence's mind.

However, the actress has said that she would consider quitting acting for true love in an interview with Good Morning America,

When asked about the love versus work choice faced by her character Aurora in Passengers, the actress admitted:

"I guess it depends on the love. Is that really mean? Does that sound super callous, it depends on the love?"

"I mean if you were facing getting a really good job and the love that you're with is kind of like 'maybe it's momentary' then like choose the job," she said.

"But if you're like – this is love for the rest of my life then – screw the job!" she continued, proving the love trumps work for the star.

We're just glad she wasn't loved up right before the Hunger Games, because we can't think of anyone who could have played Katniss so perfectly.

In what has been a tough month for Kanye West, news is now circulating as to the reason behind his recent ‘breakdown’.

The 39-year-old rapper was reportedly forced to pay a family member $250,000 (€240,000) after they threatened to release a sex tape of the father-of-two they found on a laptop he had gifted them.

The family member is said to have stumbled across the tape, with Kanye apparently in clear view, and called an attorney knowing that it would make them a huge profit.

After receiving numerous offers from news outlets and porn sites, the relative decided to sell it to Kanye for a whopping quarter of a million dollars.

The incident left Kanye feeling distrustful of his family and close friends and caused him to become distant according to his cousin, Lawrence Franklin who also says it played a massive part in Kanye's recent hospitalisation.

The Grammy award winner wrote about the betrayal in his song Real Friends saying:

"I had a cousin that stole my laptop that I was f**kin' b*tches on. Paid that n***a 250 thousand just to get it from him. Real friends, huh?"

Lawrence also revealed that Kanye is still grieving the death of his mother, Donda who died in 2007 and says apparently she would not approve of his new life and family.

“Kanye comes from a very family-orientated environment with roots and African American family lifestyle," Lawrence told the Daily Mail.

“The Kardashians are the complete opposite of what's familiar in our community.

“Aunt Donda represented class, dignity and respect, woman power and black power and she loved God.

“So she would not have approved of Kim Kardashian – that's the truth.”

An off-duty police officer has shot and killed the Russian ambassador to Turkey as he was giving a speech at an art gallery this evening.

The gunman is said to have been dressed smartly and standing behind the ambassador before he pulled a gun and shouted “Don’t forget Aleppo. Don’t forget Syria” before shooting Andrei Karlov.

"We regard this as a terrorist act," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"Terrorism will not win and we will fight against it decisively."

Russia has been a close ally to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and played a large part in helping the Syrian forces in their effort to end rebel resistance last week.

However, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has been vocal about his opposition to President Assad.

It is said the gunman fired eight shots according to witnesses.

The Turkish state-run press agency, Anadolu later reported he had been “neutralised”.

Video footage of the incident has since emerged where the shooter can be seen making the fatal shot.

With the death toll continuing to escalate in the Syrian capital and the so-called Islamic State militant group having carried out several attack on Turkish targets in the last year, this latest attack is being called the latest in a reign of terror in the region.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charles Flanagan TD spoke about the killing in a statement made this evening, saying:

“I condemn the brutal assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey.

"I offer sincere condolences to Ambassador Karlov's family and loved ones and to the government and people of Russia.

“Diplomats play critical role in the conduct of relations between States and today is a bleak day for the diplomatic community around the world."
