Heading straight to the fridge or take away menu after a fight with your partner?

You're certainly not alone.

A new study published in Clinical Psychological Science found that relationship stress and bickering with your other half can in fact work up a real appetite.

Researchers at the University Of Deleware and Ohio State University studied the interactions of more than 40 couples, who have been together for longer than three years.

They filmed them eating meals together and then also kept a camera on them when the couple tried to resolve relationship issues.

When the 'problem discussions' took place, the scientists observed how the pair communicated, their hostility levels and even subtle details like put-downs and eye rolls.

While filming took place, researchers took blood tests so they could examine hormone levels before and after the exchanges. They also examined their heights, weights, BMIs and typical diets.

And as it turns out, couples who had a more hostile exchange saw a surge in the appetite-triggering hormone ghrelin, post-arguement.

Results also showed that couples with the most stress in their relationship had poorer diets overall.

The conclusion of the research showed that the uncontrolled hunger some couples experience after fighting could have negative long-term health implications, such a worsened emotional eating and obesity.

Sex And The City has remained Sarah Jessica Parker's biggest and most memorable screen performances… ever.

But it has now been revealed that she had major doubts about her role before the show even started.

Indeed, SJP and husband Matthew Broderick shared their concerns with American musician and actor, Seth Rudetsky.

Seth worked with Matthew and Sarah on a Broadway show throughout the year and that was were Sarah told Seth her biggest doubts.

Talking to US Vogue, Seth said: "We, of course, talked about Sex And The City, and turns out, Sarah was reluctant to do the pilot because she didn't really want to do a series.

"However she loved the script so she filmed it and then forgot about it. Months later she found out the show was picked up and she completely wanted to get out of it. I mean, completely."

Well, this comes as a MAJOR shock.

Seth added: "She tried various ways to get out of it, including telling HBO that she would film three projects for free if they'd release her from her contract!

"Basically, they convinced her to honour her deal, and she now has no regrets." You don't say.

We are definitely relieved that Sarah stayed on the play the part of the foever-famous Carrie Bradshaw.

Sure, you can go low-carb, gluten-free and vegan… but the most basic way to lose weight is still just to cut calories.

What a pity it's such a pickle to actually put into practice.

The simple fact is you can drop half a kilo a week by cutting out 500 calories per day – sounds great right? Of course it does!

So here are easy tips on how to trim up on your calorie intake:

Don't eat in front of the TV

Research at the University Of Massachusetts states that you'll end up eating more calories if you sit in front of a TV. Instead, eat at the dinner table and trade one-hour of TV for a casual walk.

Step away from the nuts

Especially a big bowl! Nuts have heart-healthy fats but they're also very high in calories. If you can't resist though go for pistachios. Two handfuls of pistachios are just 160 calories whereas two handfuls of mixed nuts amounts to 525 calories.

Limit salad toppings

A big bowl of hearty greens might seem healthy, but all those goodies on top can add some serious calories. Try swap your dressings and croutons for flavourful veg such as roasted bell peppers, grilled onions or mushrooms.

Use a smaller plate

Swap your standard 30cm plate for a 25cm one. You'll eat about 25 percent less – and save up to 500 calories!

Skip the whip

Some coffees would not be complete without a little whipped cream on top – but they have a huge amount of calories in them. Some dessert-like coffee creations contain as many as 670 calories! Craving your cream? Try it on a shot of espresso for a total of 30 calories.

Skinny up cocktails

Syrups, sour mix, sugary fruit and creamy additions to your drinks can turn them into desserts. An indulgent cocktail could add up to nearly 400 calories! Instead, order drinks that are mixed with club soda, tonic water, citrus fruits or cranberry juice. Your waistline will thank you.

Forbes has just released its annual list of oh-so loaded celebrities, entrepreneurs and canny business-folk – and suffice to say that it's all rather eye-wateringly wealthy.

All the usual suspects are there too from the entertainment world: taking the top spot in the highest-paid actress category is Jen Lawrence, who raked in €45.5m (gulp) last year alone.

Indeed, the rest of the Top Ten is pretty familiar – Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie are all present and correct, as are Julia Roberts and Kristen Stewart.

But lo and behold taking the No.4 spot is one Fan Bingbing: a stunning 33-year-old Chinese actress who has endorsement contracts with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Chopard; who graces the front of Vogue, and who dominates Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed lists.

Best known to folk in this part of the world for her role in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, she boasts a decade-and-half long career in the film industry and is a mega-star in her native China.

She also earned €18.5m in 2014 – hence her sky-high position on the Forbes list.

Growing up in Yantai, a province on the northeast coast, she is a graduate of the Shanghai Xie Jin Film And Television Art College and the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

She is currently dating Chinese movie star (and all 'round hottie) Li Chen, a 36-year-old whom she met on the set of The Empress Of China, a 2014 TV drama set during the ancient Tang dynasty era.

Over the last number of years, Fan has become something of a regular sight at the Cannes Film Festival – often wowing gathered spectators and photographers with her breathtaking gowns.

Here, SHEmazing! takes a look at her most incredible, utterly fabulous red-carpet attire. Make sure to follow Ms Bingbing on Instagram too.

Ok these are definitely a bit strange! A Korean designer, Jang Woo-Seok, has designed coffee cup lids complete with kissing lips. Yep, seriously!

Many people have a lot of loving feelings towards their morning coffee, and now you can truly express them, if you feel so inclined.

These lids are in the shapes of a human nose and mouth and you can swap your regular coffee lid with one of these if you in need of a little morning smooch.

“Take ‘Kiss’ Out” is a coffee cup lid  features puckered lips and a nose – as much human face as a lid needs for a kiss.

The designer is extremely interested in graphic, industrial and furniture design and to him the cup is fun yet functional.

Two of Hollywood's most hilarious female stars are teaming up, and we're VERY excited.

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer first sent the internet into meltdown last month when they were pictured hanging out in the Hamptons together, and now they've decided to take their friendship to a professional level… by writing a film script.

Jennifer says that she and Amy, who will hopefully appear in the film together as sisters, are a writing match made in heaven. "Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavours. It’s been the most fun experience of my life," she told the New York Times.

The best part? This isn't just a pipe dream, the script is already well underway, according to Jen. "We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now."

After first hitting it off by email a few months back, Jennifer says the pair have gotten very close.

"I emailed her [Amy] after I saw Trainwreck and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you.' We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting."

Like any long-distance BFFs, the two talk on the phone… a LOT. "We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages [of script]. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago," the actress revealed.

After seeing Trainwreck, we really can't wait to see what Amy comes up with now that she's got J-Law on board.

Good news for all you doggie lovers out there, not only is today National Dog Day, you also have Ireland's first dog festival to look forward to!

National Dog Day was set up to recognise the number of dogs that need rescue and rehoming each year, and it's a day to celebrate the work and companionship dogs bring to us every day.

'The Doggie Do' will take place in Merrion Square on Saturday the 12th of September and has been described as "Mardi Gras for mutt and man."

This is a family friendly event which will be MC'd by Irish style icon Darren Kennedy.

As the website for the event describes it: "The Doggie Do is a family-friendly festival celebrating our dogs. Expect a fun day at Merrion Sq, Dublin, with talks, games, grooming, music, chow, screenings and a doggie dress-up parade to crown the ‘Dog Of Dublin 2015'."

The festival is a celebration of our unique bonds with our fluffy friends and was inspired by the annual Halloween dog parade in New York.

Bring your dog along and see his he/she will be crowned the inaugural "dog of Dublin". There will be a strong focus on responsible dog ownership, Vet Q&As and talks from top groomers & trainers on the day.

And this is our favourite part… "To give our canine besties some of the pampering they deserve, there will be a ‘Doggie and Soul’  chill out area  – while for us humans there will be a picnic ‘market garden’ with some of Ireland’s finest food producers, live music, and in the evening, an open-air movie screening."

There will also be a cookery demonstration entitled 'Boneful', led by pooch enthusiast Aoife McElwain, who will be showing how to bake healthy, homemade treats for our doggies.

Beset by an angry mob and being beaten by sticks, one man captured on camera fighting off his assailants in Istanbul has been widely praised online.

And the individual in question has been identified on social media and by Turkish media as Irish citizen, Mohammed Fadel Dobbous.

Indeed, Kuwait-born Mohammed – furthermore described as a professional boxer – is being heralded as something of a hero for standing up to the mob of local shopkeepers.

He had been at a market in Istanbul's Aksaray neighbourhood and was seemingly looking for a bottle of water.

Upon opening the fridge door in one establishment, he sent dozens of bottles flying to the ground – something which evidently greatly irked the stick-wielding shop owner.

A large group of fellow proprietors then came to defend their colleague, some carrying sticks or stools.

However, footage of the incident, which is believed to have occurred at the beginning of this month, shows the besieged man defying unfavourable odds by taking the attackers on one by one.

Even when Mr Dobbous has a stool thrown over him and one shopkeeper hits him repeatedly with a stick, he hardly seems to flinch.

A spokesman for the Boxing Union Of Ireland told Mirror Online today that "there is no licensed boxer," by the name Mohammed Fadel Dobbous registered with them. The Irish Amateur Boxing Association has said it is currently looking into the matter.

The widespread support for the Irishman follows a series of crimes by shopkeepers in Turkey.

In July, a shopkeeper in Izmir, a location popular with European tourists, was accused of beating a Syrian child.

And in February a journalist was stabbed to death by a shopkeeper after he threw a snowball at a window during a playful snowball fight.

Manure, sewage, burning rubbish… we've all had to wind up the car windows every so often when driving past a particularly stinky stretch of road.

But what if you were unlucky enough to have to deal with those unsavoury odours every day? Hundreds of unfortunate Irish residents do, and some of them have even made complaints to Ireland's Environmental Protection Agency.

The EPA has released a list of Ireland's top 10 smelliest places, based on hundreds of odour complaints received by the agency last year.

Almost three quarters of complaints about bad smells last year related to the following ten locations:

Dublin and Cork feature heavily, covering two thirds of the top ten list. The East of Ireland also seems to be a fairly stinky place to live, with Kildare, Wicklow, Louth and Meath all on the list too. So if you're looking for an odour-free life, make a move to the West it would seem.

As for noise complaints, the EPA isn't short of those either, with 80% of all calls about noise issues relating to these five Irish sites:

Ireland's main cities are off the hook this time, with Meath, Louth, Offaly, Tipperary and Kildare all making the top five list.

So if you're planning on moving house soon, you know where to avoid…

Ok this NEEDS to happen! Burger King have written an open letter and released a video asking McDonalds to collaborate them to create the ultimate burger, the McWhopper.

This burger would be a combination of the Big Mac and the Whopper burger, taking some ingredients from both to create the ultimate super burger.

In an open letter to the home of the McFlurry, Burger King wrote: "We come in peace. In fact, we come in honour of peace. We know we've had our petty differences, but how about we call a cease fire on these so-called 'burger wars'?"

The idea for the McWhopper is to celebrate Peace One Day on September 21 which is an annual day of global unity.

The non-profit organisation have a powerful rallying call – "Who will you make peace with?".

In spirit of this day, Burger Kind said: "We'd like to propose a one-off collaboration between Burger King and McDonalds to create something special – something that gets the world talking about Peace day."

To celebrate this day of peace, they are suggesting the two burger giants open a pop up store in Atlanta and sell the McWhopper in a store which will be co-branded.

We can't wait to see what McDonalds have to say in return!
