There is exciting baby news for Jimmy Fallon this morning as he has revealed he is a dad again!

The chat show host and his wife Nancy welcomed a baby girl called Frances Cole Fallon, who was born via surrogate. The impending birth was not announced in the media.

A statement released to People magazine reported the birth: “Frances Cole Fallon officially entered the world at 8:45am on Dec 3, weighing 5lbs, 11oz. And is 18.5 inches long. Their new addition joins big sister, Winnie Rose [16 months]. The couple opted to keep their baby joy to themselves until their new daughter made her official debut. Both Fallon babies were born via surrogate.”

Jimmy announced over Twitter that due to the birth of his second daughter, there would be no new episodes of The Tonight Show until Friday: “Due to unexpected but delightful circumstances, there will not be new episodes tonight or Thursday evening.”

Congratulations to the happy family on their wonderful new addition!

If you're looking for a healthy eating resolution that's easy to stick with for 2015, we may have found just the thing.

A new study has shown that eating within the same eight or nine hour time frame each day could help you to lose weight and get leaner – even if your diet falls by the wayside.

Experts at the Salk Institute in California believe that by allowing your body to predict when it will be getting fuel from food, it will become better prepared to burn calories. Not only that, but "time-restricted eating" could also benefit your digestive system and could decrease your cholesterol levels, too. Win!

The research was carried out on mice, who were each fed the same diet – some eating at any time of the day and others eating only during the eight-hour time window. The mice with the restricted time frame were both healthier and leaner by the end of the study, despite the fact that they were still being fed fatty and unhealthy foods.

Even when the mice ate freely for two days out of seven, the results were the same – so a cheat weekend or two won't do much harm, the researchers believe.

But could the results apply to us humans, too? The experts behind the study believe they do – and they plan to test the same theory on humans next. Watch this space!

Controversial singer Nicki Minaj has had her recent track All Things Go hailed a masterpiece by fans on Twitter.

The curvaceous rapper released this deeply personal track yesterday and the response has been overwhelming. In the song, 31-year-old Nicki opens up about the abortion she had as a fifteen-year-old with lyrics including: “My child with Aaron, would’ve have been sixteen, any minute.”

The star previously addressed her decision to terminate her pregnancy in her 2008 track Autobiography, but Nicki’s latest song has attracted attention due to its tender delivery, something which the general public are not used to from the normally vivacious, over-the-top performer.

Referring to her younger brother Micaiah going to college, Nicki admits she sometimes sees her own child in him, singing: “So in some ways I feel like ’Caiah, is the both of them. It’s like he’s ’Caiah’s little angel, looking over him.”

Nicki’s fans have taken to social media in their droves to thank the star for allowing herself to be so vulnerable and for sharing such a tough period in her personal history with them, saying: “The fact that we know how private of a person you are. To have u give us something like All Things Go. Wow I love u.”

We all know Tom Cruise is no stranger to death-defying stunts in the movies, but we think even this brave actor may struggle to come out on top when accidentally stepping in front of an oncoming bus.

The 52-year-old actor was filming the latest installment of Mission: Impossible in London this week when he seemed to forget all the standard road safety rules.

Amateur footage circulating on the internet shows the pint-sized star trying to cross a busy road before being almost knocked down by one of London’s famous red double-deckers, having failed to realise the lights had changed.

The Minority Report star looks pretty darn chipper when approaching the busy lanes of traffic, but has the wind knocked out of his sails fairly swiftly when he has to made a leap back to safety after getting in the way of an irate London bus driver.

Looking a little bashful, he appears to take a deep breath once out of harm’s way. As you would.

He then retreated back from the road entirely after being approached by who we assume were a couple of concerned film crew members.

You’re dead right Tom, safety first.

Ever wake up feeling like you need a few more hours rest before you can face the world, despite having slept for eight hours?

The problem might not be how long you're sleeping for – it could be how you're going about it!

Here are some of the more common night time no-nos:

1. You don't have a regular bedtime
Our mammies were onto something when they sent us to bed as soon as the Nine O'Clock News came on every evening. If you go to bed at 10pm one night and 2am the next, your body loses control of its natural rhythms. Try to get to bed within the same one-hour window every evening, and begin winding down for at least 30 minutes beforehand. Turn your laptop off, grab a nice book and get cosy.

2. You sleep on your stomach
We all have our preferred sleeping positions, but sleeping face down is one of most common causes of a bad night's sleep. Not only that, but it will affect your posture in the long run – your neck and back need to twist so that you can turn your head on it's side to breathe. If you find you really can't get to sleep unless you're lying on your stomach, place a thin pillow under your torso to support your spine.

3. You think you'll still get a good night's sleep after a few drinks
Yes, it's always easy to fall asleep after an evening of drinking, but your quality of sleep is definitely reduced. Not only are you more restless, but your brain never gets into a proper deep sleep. If you have a big night ahead, try to slow down your drinking towards the end of the evening and be aware that you may be tired the following day.

4. You binge sleep
It's not possible to store sleep. That's a difficult fact of life right there. And while it's always great to look forward to a Saturday lie-in after a week of very little sleep, you won't wake up any more alert or refreshed. Try to stick to eight or nine hours and get out and about for a stroll in the extra free time – it'll be a lot more beneficial.

5. You eat before you sleep
Not only does this lead to possible heartburn or indigestion, but your body is also too busy digesting what you've just eaten to shut off properly. Try to set an evening cut-off time for your last meal or snack – this'll prevent you picking on junk food late at night, too.

6. You keep your phone by your bed
Even if your mobile is on silent while you sleep, the blue light that's emitted when you get a text or email can stimulate your nervous system and brain and stop you from entering deep sleep mode. Turn your phone off or keep it in another room and rely on a standard alarm clock to wake you up instead!

Watching sex scenes with your parents is awkward enough, but having your parents sit through a sex scene you actually starred in doesn't bear thinking about. Shudder.

The star of upcoming film adaptation Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota Johnson, has forbidden her mother, actress Melanie Griffith, from watching her performance in the highly anticipated 2015 release.

Despite having told Elle Magazine that she was comfortable filming the sex scenes, saying: “I don’t have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame”, Dakota, who stars as Anastasia Steele in the risqué story, requested that her Oscar-nominated mum might stay home opening weekend to save both their blushes.

When Melanie was asked this week if she would be going to see Fifty Shades on its release, the Golden Globe winner was forced to reply in the negative, saying: “No, I will not be seeing it. Well, because my daughter doesn’t want me too and I don’t think it would be appropriate.”

Melanie is no stranger to a raunchy film role however, having starred in 1980’s flick Body Double so perhaps the pair will have a change of heart closer to the time, although then again, maybe not.

Actress Amanda Seyfried turns 29 today, and though we're not sure what she's got planned for the big day, we're sure she'll be looking divine!

The star has had a bit of a bumpy ride along the road to finding her perfect style, but she's come a long way from the days of wearing jeans on the red carpet.

Let's take a look back through the archives…

1. The outfit that started it all…
"I'm a mouse, duh." Thank you, Mean Girls for this iconic moment/outfit.

2. Her first foray into red carpet glamour
Amanda definitely tried hard with this outfit for the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, but the fit is just a bit all over the place.

3. Uh-oh.
What happened to the turquoise dress? Jeans and flats were a step too far down the "smart casual" road for this 2006 appearance.

4. Wait a minute…
This is more like it! We knew she had it in her!

5. We're loving this high fashion look
Amanda killed it at the 2009 Golden Globes in this one-shoulder pastel number.

6. Very sleek!
Louis Vuitton was a great choice for this 2010 event – Amanda is looking simply stunning here.

7. A bit of a wobble?
The actress' dress for the 2010 Academy Awards was criticised for being just too much for her small frame – some even said it looked "like a roll of bubble wrap." Well, we think she looks fab.

8. Back to the drawing board
This aquamarine blue dress is just a bit too bright for Amanda's pale skin, and the shape's a bit off too. Well, we all make fashion mistakes.

9. WOW.
Look at those pins! Amanda looks easy and elegant in this two-tone playsuit for an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael in New York.

10. Finally, the style queen emerges once and for all
Amanda got it 100% right in Alexander McQueen at last year's Oscars. It's been a long road, but now look at her!

Happy birthday Amanda!

The mother of singer Kelly Rowland sadly passed away yesterday, it has been confirmed.

The 66-year old died after going into cardiac arrest the day before.

"It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Doris Rowland Garrison," said Kelly in a statement released by her publicist today.

"She was an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman—and now mother—I am today. We humbly appreciate all the love and support and only ask for privacy during this difficult time."

The tragic news comes just weeks after the singer gave birth to her son Titan Jewell with her husband Tim Weatherspoon.

Just last week Kelly shared this adorable snap on Instagram, captioning it "Happiest moment of my life – TJW."

Our thoughts are with Kelly and her family at this difficult time.

TOWIE star Dan Osborne has an amazing Christmas planned for his son Teddy in the company of his ex Megan Tomlin… but we wonder if he's told that to Jacqueline Jossa!

Given that Jacqueline is expecting her first child with Dan in early 2015, we imagine she wanted him all to herself this year.

But as well as a busy schedule performing in Liverpool's Jack and the Beanstalk panto, Dan revealed he would be driving to Megan's house after work each evening to see one-year-old Teddy.

He also revealed that he plans to spend Christmas Day with close family – and Teddy of course.

"I'm going to make sure that every Christmas and birthday he'll have all the presents he could want," said Dan, adding that the toddler was "constantly in the back of my mind."

Discussing his plans for Christmas in an interview with Closer magazine, the star appeared to gloss over a question about becoming a dad for the second time, answering, "Yeah. And I'm now a full-time Dreamboy too! The tour was so succesful that I'm carrying on next year. I really enjoy it."

Hmmm… Very vague!

Despite not gushing too much about his second new arrival, the TOWIE star did say earlier this year that he felt "truly blessed" to have the chance to become a dad again.

As for Jacqueline, she has been getting very excited on social media about her pregnancy, sharing this sweet picture earlier in the week of pals cradling her bump:

Aaaaw!

When Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider published their dating manual The Rules back in 1995, the world of relationships was a very different place. With guidelines like, “Don’t accept a date for Saturday after Wednesday,” and “Never talk to him first”, it seems a bit laughable now that anyone would take the book’s advice to heart.

Even so, when the book was updated in 2012 for the digital age, lots of the same crazy rules still applied. “Don’t date a man for more than two years without a proposal” was one guideline. “In a long-distance relationship, he must visit you three times before you visit him,” was another. Having just found a copy of this book at my friend’s house last weekend, I was both weirded out and a little intrigued by the contents.

Although my pal admitted she’d never really taken any of the rules on board, the fact that the 1995 book was successful enough to be updated 17 years on means that someone, somewhere was listening to the author’s advice.

The world of dating has come a long way in the last few years. With the growth of Tinder and other online dating apps, we’re free to control things for ourselves. Who cares if that guy you met last week hasn’t called? He’s not worth it. Move on. We can see someone new every weekend just for fun and nobody’s going to bat an eyelid.

So let’s forget about antiquated rules like waiting for him to send the first text or for him to do the asking. Guys are just as nervous as us when it comes to dating. Next time you’re debating whether to make the first move, just take a deep breath and do it. Send that first message on Tinder. Add him first on Facebook. If anything, he’ll be grateful that you’ve set the ball rolling.

We’re often scared to make that first leap because we worry that he (or our friends, or his friends) will think we’re over-eager or way too forward. The truth is, the only person thinking that is us. And the little shot of anxiety that coming with hitting “send” is just a healthy part of dating.

As for rules like, “don’t accept a date for Saturday after Wednesday,” unless a man is in serious need of being taken down a peg or two, refusing his invite purely because he didn’t give you three full days’ notice is just a touch crazy, don’t you think?

Let’s put our worries aside for a while and just go with what seems right when it comes to dating. If things don’t work out, maybe it’s because the two of you just aren’t a good match, not because you didn’t follow “the rules.”

Hmmm… we already knew Katy Perry had it in for her, but we never suspected Lady Gaga would be next in line to join the anti-Taylor crew!

Gaga opened up about her relationship with the Shake It Off singer during a tell-all interview with Howard Stern yesterday, and revealed that she'd had a pretty bad first impression.

"It was at the AMAs or something – her and I were sitting next to each other, and she goes, 'Oh my god! I love ARTPOP! And I love ApplauseApplause is my favorite song!'" Gaga said of the pair's initial meeting.

"I was thinking, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, this chick is full of s**t,' right?"

But the star admitted she soon changed her mind after getting a call from a friend of hers who was working on Taylor's Blank Space video.

"He goes, 'Taylor Swift is here blasting ARTPOP so loud, and she is dancing, and she's posing'" Gaga recalled. "I said to myself, 'I like this girl. You know why? Because she said the same thing to my face as she said behind my back… Yeah, I like her.'"

Aaaw! But despite Gaga's newly found love for Taylor, she was quick to reassure one caller on Howard's show that things were strictly platonic. When asked if the two were lovers (really?!), Gaga responded, "I don't think she would be into that."

Fair enough!
