After deciding on the basics like the venue and the dress, the bride-to-be was faced with choosing her wedding tiara.

She remembered that day, saying that her number one priority was finding a piece that complemented her timeless Givenchy dress.

But she could not make the decision without her devoted partner, Prince Harry.

According to People, a new exhibition at Windsor castle called “A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” tells the behind-the-scenes story of the royals’ big day.

“Harry and I had gone to Buckingham Palace to meet with Her Majesty The Queen to select one of the options that were there, which was an incredibly surreal day as you can imagine,” said Meghan’s recorded voice.

Both her and Harry decided on the gorgeous art deco style bandeau tiara.

“I think it was just perfect because it was so clean and simple – and also to that point, an extension of what Clare and I had been trying to do with the dress which was have something that could be so incredibly timeless but still feel modern.”

The diamond bandeau is an English style and was made in 1932, with the entire brooch dating from 1893, said Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry called the tiara “every girl’s dream”.

"Funnily enough, it was the one that suited the best, the one that looked the best on you without question," he said.

"I shouldn't have really been there – but an incredible loan by my grandmother. Very sweet."

How special that the two were able to choose one of his grandmother’s treasured tiaras together.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced they were expecting and were met with congratulations from people around the world.

The royals are over the moon for this next step in their relationship together and cannot wait to meet their little boy or girl.

Now, one of the next decisions the two will have to make is who their child’s godparents will be.

Royal tradition rules out honouring siblings with this title, but there are quite a few family friends in the running.

Here are the current godparent contenders:

Serena Williams

Serena’s close friendship with Meghan is often talked about. Being a mum herself as well, the tennis star is an obvious candidate for the godparent role.

Jessica and Ben Mulroney

As one of Meghan’s best friends and her personal stylist, Jessica is a clear contender. Her and her husband’s children were in Harry and Meghan’s wedding party as well.

Lindsay Jill Roth

The Duchess of Sussex was the maid of honour at her wedding. Lindsay is one of Meghan’s closest friends from university and the two have remained close ever since.

Zoe and Jake Warren

Jake was one of Princess Diana’s godsons and both him and his wife have grown up with Harry. Their daughter Zalie was also a bridesmaid in the royals’ wedding.

Misha Nonoo

Not only is the designer one of Meghan’s favourite travel companions, but her ex Alexander went to school with Harry as well. There are no more double dates but the four remain close.

Tom Inskip and Lara Hughes-Young

Since their days at Eton, Tom has been buddies with Harry ever since. Both Meghan and Harry attended his wedding in Jamaica.

Benita and Darren Litt

The couple’s two daughters were in the duke and duchess’ wedding party and Meghan is the girls' godmother. So it would only suit if the royals reciprocated the gesture.

However, we will just have to wait and see who Meghan and Harry choose as godmother and godfather for their baby.

Despite the Duke of Sussex's ample experience in giving public speeches, it seems that he still gets nervous in front of crowds.

In preparation of the Invictus Games 2018, Prince Harry wanted to practice his speech in front of the person whose opinion he values most – his wife.

Meghan Markle walked over to the rows of empty chairs set up for the big event and took a seat in the front row.

Her hubby took the stage with microphone in hand and began his practised words.

Outside the Sydney Opera House, Harry looked at his partner’s reassuring smile and found the words he knew would be spoken in front of a full house that evening.

With the support of his duchess, he knew he could do anything.

The royals’ official Instagram shared the intimate moment with the caption: “Almost time for The Invictus Games 2018.

“The Duke of Sussex makes his final speech preparations ahead of tonight’s Opening Ceremony.”

Many fans have already commented on how sweet Harry and Meghan’s relationship is.

“What a great picture. Duke and Duchess are showing their commitment to each other and to the causes close to their hearts,” said one comment.

“They truly are an amazing team”, said another.

Prince Harry started The Invictus Games four years ago after seeing the positive impact sport could have on the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women.

Wounded warriors compete from all over the world in sports like golf and wheelchair tennis.

It is sweet to see the couple supporting each other in all that they do, and we are seriously jealous of how perfect they are for each other!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first public appearance since announcing their joyous pregnancy news yesterday.

The couple are currently on tour in Australia. Meghan and Harry greeted the public in Sydney on their first day of royal engagements.

The Duke is Sussex seemed quite moved when he delivered a speech during their first day in Sydney.

Harry gushed about the public’s reaction to their pregnancy announcement.

“We genuinely couldn't think of a better place to announce the upcoming…err…baby," he shared.

The couple were welcomed by the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove at Admiralty House, Kirribilli to mark the beginning of their royal visit.

They even gave Meghan a toy koala. The Duchess told them that she would put it ‘in the nursery.’

Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be “delighted for the couple”.

Mere hours have passed since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child together, and the bookies already have a list of the top names for their baby.

The couple has yet to confirm whether they are expecting a boy or girl, and more than likely won’t because it doesn’t follow royal tradition, but that hasn’t stopped the betting houses from conjuring up a list of potential names for the parents-to-be.

Harry and Meghan will be welcoming their bundle of joy into the world in the Spring of 2019, but the couple won’t have to be as strict when it comes to their newborn’s title.

Alexander, Arthur and Philip are amongst the top names for a baby boy, which come as no surprise. The royals tend to pick from a list of traditional, family names.

Other potential options include Nicholas at 10/1, Alfred at 6/1, James at 50/1 and Thomas, after Meghan’s dad.

If the Duke and Duchess welcome a baby girl in the new year the odds of naming her Alice and Victoria are exceptionally high.

Obviously, many people hope Harry will honour his late-mum Princes Diana by naming their daughter after her. Isabella is currently at 6/1, followed by 12/1 Eleanor and Rachel at 25/1.

Who knows what name Harry and Meghan will choose for their first child, but there’s no doubt it’ll be traditional.

We do hope they honour Diana in some way. There’s no doubt his mum would be overjoyed to hear her son’s incredible news on this special day.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in the most magical May wedding this year. Their love story is like something out of a fairytale and we couldn't be more jealous.

They may be one of the most-loved celebrity couples of the 21st century, but like all of us, former Suits actress Meghan couldn’t help but worry after her first date with the prince.

A close friend of the royal couple set them up on a blind date back in 2016.

Meghan only had one question to ask about her now-husband when her friend recommended going on a date with him.

All she asked was “Is he nice and kind?”

The couple enjoyed an “intoxicating first date” but Meghan was extremely worried about one thing in particular.

According to royal biographer Andrew Morton, the Duchess of Sussex was afraid she came across as too eager after she agreed to a second date with the prince.

"As she relived that fateful evening in her mind, she perhaps wondered if she had been too eager to accept his invitation to meet again the following day.”

We’re sure the Duke of Sussex was thrilled when Meghan agreed to a second date: "They were mesmerised by one another, Harry enthralled by her beauty, sophistication and perceptiveness.”

Now if only we could find a fella like Prince Harry.

Kate Middleton is fiercely dominating the fashion industry, and we are loving it!

According to eBay's annual UK Retail Report, one fab woman has been named the top royal fashion influencer of the year – Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge has even surpassed the Duchess of Sussex, who has been ranked as number two.

But are we really that surprised? The fashionista was the envy of pregnant mums everywhere with her classic colour choices and bold pattern combinations.

At her little Louis’ christening, she arrived in a gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress with stylish structured sleeves. Kate was also crowned with a matching Jane Taylor headpiece, adorned with intricately laced flowers.

Princess Kate has looked simply stunning in her sleek outfits during her three pregnancies, before and after she had her darling children.

Her royal style has been the #fashiongoals of late for mums all over the globe.

The Duchess’ number one status is linked to the burst in searches for maternity clothes by British consumers.

Tailored maternity coats became all the rage when Kate claimed them as part of her go-to outfit ensemble, and searches for them more than tripled in November 2017 when she was parading around town during her third pregnancy.

And who could forget when the princess introduced Prince Louis to the public for the first time, sporting a fabulous, red Jenny Packham dress.

eBay searches surged for Packham fashion after her son’s debut, more than doubling their usual number.

As for her fellow duchess, Meghan’s top influencing moment was during her May wedding when she walked down the aisle in a dazzling, Givenchy dress. Afterwards, searches for the designer increased by 60 percent.

But Kate and Meghan weren't the only two to make the royal cut.

The adorable Princess Charlotte came third place, sparking searches for floral crowns (60% increase) and dresses (40% increase) as they became the must-haves of kids wear.

Her elder brother George came fourth for his popular Peter Pan collared shirts, followed by the Queen in fifth, due mostly to her elegant brooches.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been one of the most talked about couples of the year. The royals have been on the cover of every newspaper and magazine across the globe. Their wedding was watched by billions and their public engagements draw thousands to the streets.

This summer, the stunning duo took some time away from the spotlight, along with the rest of the royal family. During the month of August, Queen Elizabeth and co. tend to take a step back from their duties.

We must admit we've missed seeing snaps of the couple on our Instagram feeds, but fear not, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their welcome return to the spotlight at a charity event.

Harry and Meghan attended a gala performance of Hamilton last night. The special event was held to raise awareness and funds for children’s charity Sentebale.

Prince Harry established the children’s charity alongside Prince Seeiso. The charity gives hope and works with children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa.

After the show, Prince Harry took to the stage with the cast of Hamilton and the creator of the musical Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Duke delivered an impassioned speech about how the money they raised will help ill children, but before doing so he broke into song.

The audience cheered as Harry briefly sang  a snippet of You’ll Be Back from the musical.

It’s evident that the prince is a huge fan of the show. Meghan even told one of the cast members that Harry never stops singing the songs from the popular musical.

Maybe the Duke of Sussex could have a future in musical theatre? Who knows.

Meghan Markle has become quite the style icon in recent years. Her elegant and chic looks are the envy of millions of women around the world.

The Duchess manages to look like a million dollars in the simplest of ensembles. Since becoming a member of the royal family, Meghan certainly has access to more designer threads and stunning pieces of jewellery than ever before.

The former actress had the honour of wearing Queen Mary's Filigree tiara on her wedding day. The beautiful bride was also spotted wearing an aquamarine cocktail ring from Princess Diana’s personal collection, which was a gift from husband Prince Harry.

Meghan’s engagement ring even features diamonds from Diana’s personal collection, but the Suits star has one very special piece of jewellery from her own collection that she hopes to pass on to her future daughter.

Forget about tiaras and diamonds, Meghan revealed that one day she wants to pass on one stunning item that she purchased herself.

The Duchess of Sussex bought this item when her show Suits was renewed for a third season. She celebrated by splurging on a £4,200 Cartier watch.

In 2015, she told Hello! Magazine: “I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch,” adding that her dream was to “give it to [her] daughter one day.”

Meghan even had “To M.M, From M.M” engraved on the Cartier French Tank watch. The watch features a classy chain-link bracelet and a delicate rectangle shaped face.

The dainty piece of jewellery is the perfect family heirloom, and it looks like Meghan isn’t the only royal family member who is a fan of the timeless piece.

It is understood that Princess Diana also owned a similar Cartier watch.

How sweet!

It is well known that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has a close friendship with tennis star, Serena Williams. The two have been seen spending time together on many occasions.

But how did they first meet? The pairs first interaction was reported to be during the 2010 Super Bowl in Florida.

Meghan said, "We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in […] So began our friendship.”

The women stayed in close contact, grabbing lunch when they were in the same town and texting often with one another. The Duchess reflected on their friendship, saying “what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations — our endless ambition."

As powerful public figures, we can see why this dynamic duo get on so well, and it was no surprise when Meghan was in attendance at Wimbledon two days ago. She turned up for her dear friend, Serena, cheering her on throughout the tournament.

Unfortunately, Serena’s loss was devastating, but her following speech portrayed her defeat as just a small obstacle. Through her husband’s (and Meghan’s) support she is determined to come back even stronger next year.

Serena explained that she and the Duchess have always encouraged one another. The tennis pro said, “Now she’s supporting me in a different role but our friendship is still exactly the same.” During Serena’s post-game speech, Meghan was spotted with teary eyes in the audience. She was proud of her friend’s performance and moved by her words.

Earlier this year, Serena also showed her support for the Duchess by attending her royal wedding with Prince Harry.

Serena said that their friendship has remained the exact same since the royal wedding.

It is fantastic to see two strong women be so uplifting. A genuine friendship is hard to foster underneath the public eye, but we are happy to see that Meghan and Serena have not wavered in their affection for one another.
