Thank god it's Friday!

As the Christmas holidays fast approach, we’re finding our weeks to be more and more busy these days. So, when the weekend finally arrives, we’re always thrilled to take some time out to relax and unwind.

With these dark and wintry days, one of our favourite ways to spend our evenings is to snuggle up on the sofa with a magical film. If you’re looking for a great option to watch this weekend, then we have an idea for you!

On Sunday, BBC Two will be delighting viewers by showing the 2005 re-imagining of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice.

If you have never seen this absolute classic, the plot centres around Mr and Mrs Bennett and their five daughters, which the couple are eager to marry off to wealthy bachelors. However, their second eldest, Elizabeth (played by Keira Knightley), can think of nothing worse than marrying a man she does not love.

When the eligible and mysterious Mr Darcy (played by Matthew Macfadyen) arrives into town, Elizabeth is immediately disgusted by his rudeness and moody glares.

As these films always go, the pair continue to cross paths during social occasions, but Elizabeth is later shocked when Darcy makes an unexpected confession to her. Has Elizabeth been right about him all along, or has she allowed her first impressions of him to cloud her judgement?

Well, you’ll just have to watch and find out! So, grab the popcorn and lots of cosy blankets, and enjoy this stunning period romance.

Pride & Prejudice airs this Sunday (December 10) on BBC Two at 6pm.

Louise Thompson has opened up about her son’s ongoing difficulties with ‘night terrors’.

The former Made In Chelsea star welcomed her son Leo in November 2021, alongside her fiancé Ryan Libbey.

As she continues to share snippets of her motherhood journey, Louise has now detailed a recent struggle that she has been having with her little boy.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the 33-year-old re-shared recent baby monitor footage that Ryan had managed to capture, moments after she climbed into the two-year-old’s cot to soothe him.

After joking that she later had to “clamber out” of the cot, Louise went on to write: “I’ve never actually piled into the cot with Leo before but last week that changed.”

“He’s been waking up with night terrors… either that or he’s going through a bit of a ‘sleep regression’ phase and I hate hearing him cry/seeing him so panicked so i’ve been settling him back to sleep whilst lying next to him in bed. He likes the closeness and to be fully transparent I like the closeness too,” the mum-of-one explained.

The reality star then went on to express her concerns for it becoming a habit, penning: “I think I might be creating a rod for my own back given that the ‘night terrors’ may well turn into ‘any excuse to get mummy to climb into bed with me’ call outs. But we learn lessons from the many mistakes we make all along this wild journey they call parenthood.”

Describing it as “a very sweet moment,” Louise concluded her caption by praising her fiancé for managing to record the footage.

“I’m actually really grateful to have moments like these caught on camera,” she gushed.

Many fans of the MIC alum have since taken to her comments section to reassure her on her parenting.

“You're not creating a rod, you're creating a trusted bond,” one follower replied.

“Do what works! Believe me – they won’t want you in their bed for long, embrace it whilst you can,” another added.

Rochelle Humes has revealed the sweetest update on Josie Gibson’s son!

Josie, who is best known for her presenting role on This Morning, is currently the last female contestant standing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Throughout the series so far, Josie has expressed how much she has been missing her five-year-old son Reggie, and that she has never been away from him “for this long”.

Now, ahead of the I’m A Celebrity final this Sunday, one of Josie’s fellow This Morning stars has given an insight into how Reggie has been coping without his mum!

Earlier today, Rochelle Humes appeared on the ITV daytime show live from Australia, as she waits for her husband Marvin Humes to also leave the camp.

During her interview, the former star of The Saturdays was asked about meeting the other campmates’ friends and family.

"It's nice to see Josie's family here and Reggie's getting on great,” Rochelle confirmed.

“I tell you what, he hasn't got out of the hot tub. So she's got nothing to worry about, he's doing A-OK,” she exclaimed further.

Rochelle’s reassurances came after one of Josie’s evicted campmates told her in last night’s episode that Reggie would continue to be in safe hands.

After she was voted out by the public, former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold hugged her campmates and insisted: “Josie, I’ve got your little one, okay? I promise you.”

“Tell him I love him, Dan. Tell him I’ll be out soon,” Josie replied.

The only contact that the 38-year-old mum has had with her young son has been through a ‘letter from home’, which was delivered to the Australian jungle last week.

In the sweet note, Reggie penned: “Hello Mummy, I hope you are having the best time in the jungle. I have been watching you at home with Daddy. The snakes and spiders look scary Mummy, but you are doing a good job. I love you and miss you."

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.

We finally know all of the celebrities who will be taking part in next year’s Dancing With The Stars!

Last week, the producers behind the hit RTÉ show began to reveal the lineup for the upcoming season.

Now, ahead of its launch in January, the full list of celebrities is finally complete!

Earlier today, the DWTS team announced that retired Paralympian Jason Smyth is the last contestant to join the 2024 season.

Jason, who is legally blind due to Stargardt's disease, won two gold medals for Team Ireland at the 2008 Paralympics, with his sprinting records at the time being compared to the likes of Usain Bolt.

“It's quite a step away from the world on the athletics track to the dance floor. So, I think there are elements I'm excited about and elements that I'm just a little bit nervous about as well,” the 36-year-old runner admitted.

“I have two girls, eight and five, and they both love to dance, so I've had to learn to bop around more and more, but it's usually to princess songs or something slightly different!” Jason teased further.

With the cast complete, DWTS viewers have since been reacting to the lineup on social media.

“Curious to see how the pairings turn out have a few matchups in mind,” one Instagram fan penned.

“So ready. Let the dance battle begin,” another exclaimed.

Jason is the eleventh and final celebrity to join DWTS’s upcoming season. Joining him next year will be former Miss World Rosanna Davison, newsreader Eileen Dunne, Wild Youth singer David Whelan, drag queen superstar Blu Hydrangea, and TikTok sensation Miriam Mullins.

Completing the lineup will be RTÉ 2FM and Ireland's Fittest Family presenter Laura Fox, Fair City actor Shane Quigley Murphy, retired jockey Davy Russell, The Six O’ Clock Show co-host Katja Mia, and former Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan.

While RTÉ have yet to announce an official air date for the new season, Dancing With The Stars is due to return in January 2024.

There’s a new Harlan Coben adaptation on the way!

Over the past few years, the bestselling author has created several gripping – and highly popular – miniseries adaptations with Netflix, including Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close.

Now, Coben is bringing another one of his novels to the small screen, with the upcoming adaptation of his 2016 thriller, Fool Me Once.

Ahead of its premiere in just a few weeks’ time, Netflix has now treated fans to the first trailer for the brand-new miniseries:

In its logline for the highly-anticipated adaptation, Netflix writes that the series will follow “Maya Stern, who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe. But when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see a man she recognises in her house. Her husband, who she thought was dead…”

Credit: Netflix

Netflix continues: “Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce leads the homicide investigation into Joe's death while grappling with secrets of his own. Meanwhile, Maya's niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, are trying to find the truth about their mother's murder, several months earlier. Are the two cases connected?”

Fool Me Once has already promised an all-star cast of British talent. Michelle Keegan has taken on the role of Maya, while Joanna Lumley will play her mother-in-law.

Richard Armitage, who has previously appeared in Coben’s adaptations of The Stranger and Stay Close, will also be joining the cast as Maya’s husband Joe.

Rounding out the cast will be Adeel Akhtar as DS Kierce, Emmett J. Scanlan as Shane Tessier and Dino Fetscher as Marty McGreggor.

If you’re like us, and you’re beyond excited for Coben’s new miniseries to arrive on Netflix, then you thankfully won’t have long to wait! Ahead of the Christmas festivities, the streaming giant has confirmed that all eight episodes of Fool Me Once will be launching on January 1, aka New Year’s Day.

“When you have a kid, it brings up a lot of your own childhood for you. And no matter what your childhood was like, you don’t want your child to have your childhood,” she explained.

“I struggle not to show my emotions to Angelo with other things I’m going through. And I think that’s OK. Sometimes I wish I could hide it a bit less. But also, it’s not easy being an adult for anybody,” she added.

Adele was then quizzed about a “surreal” experience that she had during her residency shows in Las Vegas, when the doctor that delivered Angelo attended her concert.

“As all my friends are trying for babies, I realised how it’s actually not as easy as everyone thinks to have a baby,” the Grammy winner admitted.

“I never really understood how lucky you can be to have a baby. And I didn’t understand the magnitude of him not only bringing my child safely into the world, but keeping me safe in it. This will make me cry. It was so emotional,” Adele stated, as she teared up.

The Someone Like You hitmaker later detailed how she gets involved in Angelo’s school community, and teased that she is “thriving a bit”.

“There are so many things his school does the most, with community vibes, which is fantastic. The kids don’t care. The kids don’t give a flying f**k who I am. And I get, not insecure, but I get nervous around loads of adults and strangers that I don’t know. And so making food for school events, it’s my dream,” she concluded.

While speaking on Good Morning Britain, the 64-year-old explained the good news that her tumours have shrunk in size.

Linda revealed, “It’s amazing… When we went in, I knew straight away that it was good news by the look on my consultant’s face”.

“He said that the scans were good – the MRI and the CT scan – and that there is shrinkage with the tumours”.

“I wanted to put my arms around him and kiss him but I thought they might throw me out”, she added.

“When I spoke to you before, I didn’t think I’d make Christmas. You know, I was hoping to make the birth of my nephew- Maureen’s son Danny- the birth of their baby Marley who was born at the end of July, and then I was thinking, “Oh, how many more milestones will I make?”.

“And at the moment, I feel good. I’ve got a little bit of pain but I was walking about yesterday, we went to a beautiful garden centre, and I was having a walk around because they said to keep moving, you know, ‘Don’t sit down all the time or nothing will work’, so I was doing that and I just looked and thought, ‘How lucky I am’”.

“After nine months and getting the worst possible news, having a great time with my sisters and now it’s all excitement for Christmas”.

Explaining that knowing her tumours haven’t spread and she gets to spend more time with her sisters, Linda went on to admit, “I wake up and think, ‘Oh, another day to make memories’. I don’t wake up thinking, ‘It’s another day closer’, and that helps me”.

“Sometimes I have to drag myself out of bed because lying there… just makes it worse… you dip down into a depression.”

The singer was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, before discovering she had hip cancer in 2017 which had spread to her liver in 2020, before spreading further to her brain this year.

One4all has carried out research about these transforming dynamics of Irish Christmas festivities and found remarkable insights about the nation.

Including extended and blended families, as well as multicultural neighbourhoods, the campaign captures the essence of the festive season by highlighting the importance of togetherness and adapting to new traditions, while holding onto cherished customs.

During the research, it was discovered that 75% of respondents have welcomed unexpected guests into their home on Christmas Day. Some of these surprise guests include colleagues, long lost friends, lonely elderly neighbours, clients and even ex-partners!

While the nature of Christmas gatherings have changed over the years, it was found that one of the most important traditions during Christmas is spending quality time together, according to 48% of people.

While many of us celebrate traditions with loved ones time and time again, 78% of respondents revealed they are open to embracing new traditions during the festive season, including pie eating contests, Christmas day marathons and having French toast for breakfast.

From those surveyed, more than 85% of people are eager to spend time with individuals that aren't part of their immediate families during the holiday season. This includes friends (42%) neighbours (28%) and roommates (16%).

The survey also found that 63% of respondents have had to adjust their Christmas plans to accommodate the requests of guests in their home. I’ll be passing this tradition down to Sunday this year so she can get involved in preparing the Christmas dinner and she loves helping my Mum make her famous homemade sausage rolls and mince pies too”.

Ferne went on to explain, “As it’s Finty’s first Christmas, we’ll be introducing a new tradition to our festivities. Shane MacGowan’s wife Victoria Mary Clarke has shared an emotional message to fans ahead of her husband’s funeral.

The frontman of The Pogues tragically passed away on November 30 at the age of 65, and his funeral is set to take place in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary tomorrow.

As she prepares for her husband’s final farewell, which she admits she ‘is hard to believe is tomorrow’, Victoria has penned a heartfelt tribute about her partner, reflecting on the love they shared, and revealing that he never liked funerals.

Victoria shared a lovely photo of the couple together to her 40.6K Instagram followers and wrote, “Tomorrow is Shane’s funeral which is hard to believe and probably I won’t believe it for a while. Shane hated funerals and he refused to go to them with a few rare exceptions”.

“So it’s incredible to think that so many people want to come to his and that so many beautiful people are pouring their hearts and souls into making it magnificent and magical and memorable for him and for us who are left behind”.

“I am feeling my heart bursting open in all directions with the amount of love that is being showered on us and most especially because everyone has their own problems and challenges and everyone has their own loved ones who they need to look after”.

She went on to explain, “I feel that Shane is with me all the time and that he is feeling intense appreciation and gratitude and that he is still sending love to everyone and maybe in a more powerful way from where he is now”.

“I couldn’t have possibly asked for a more precious and enduring love affair as a human and I got so much from my relationship with Shane that it would be greedy to want more! I would love to say to anyone who is in a relationship with someone who has problems with addiction or anxiety or depression to please get healing and help for yourself, and to take care of yourself and you will find that it gives you the strength to keep going and to be able to enjoy your love”.

“And to anyone who is in fear of losing someone just know that millions of angels are watching you and supporting you. And if you don’t want to come to the funeral Shane would definitely understand, he wouldn’t want to go either!”.

Victoria closed off by adding, “But if you want to remember him, the next time you see a homeless person stop and give them your time and your compassion and your respect and treat them like a brother or a sister”.

Many fans and loved ones shared their support for Victoria and her family at this difficult time.

Shane's funeral procession is set to begin in Dublin city tomorrow morning, close to where he lived with Victoria, before continuing down to Tipperary for the mass.

Chloe Madeley has spoken out about her split from husband James Haskell.

The pair, who have been married for almost five years, announced they were going their separate ways at the end of October after rumours started circulating about their split.

As Chloe prepares for her first Christmas as a single mum to the couple’s 16-month-old daughter Bodhi, she has opened up about her and James’ break-up and admitted she’s going through a ‘difficult time’.

When speaking to The Sun for their Cosy At Christmas campaign, Chloe explained, “People have been unbelievably supportive of me during my split”.

“But things can be sad and be a good thing, that’s how I feel about it. Bodhi is young and I find it a great comfort that she won’t know any different”.

The personal trainer then discussed her ex, revealing, “James is a very hands-on dad, Bodhi loves him, he loves her and they have the most incredible relationship”.

Chloe also shared how busy her life is in the build-up to Christmas as she tries to juggle work, social activities and being a single mum.

“I’m trying to work, maintain a social life and I am going through a difficult time in my personal life right now but this is a 24/7 job”.

“I really enjoy being a mother but I cannot remember the last time I didn’t feel exhausted”, she later explained.

Madeley was recently questioned if she and James would consider getting back together, to which she responded, “James and I are not together anymore but we are determined to be the absolute best parents we can be to our amazing little girl”.

When announcing their separation on social media, Chloe shared a statement to her 296K Instagram followers that reads, “James and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September, 2023”.

“We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand”.

She added, “Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, as it is private and we have a daughter to coparent, whom we will love and protect at all costs”.
