I spend way too much time day-dreaming about being a royal. I can’t help but wonder what it’d be like to live in the most luxurious castles with giant staircases, grand pianos, four poster beds and a huge library.

Well, I finally got a glimpse of that life after I was invited to the beautiful Luttrellstown Castle and now I really hope things don’t work out between Harry and Meghan (I’m kidding, mostly.)

I felt like I was living in a fairytale once I stepped inside.

The castle oozes charm and class. We drank mulled wine and ogled at the biggest Christmas tree I’ve ever seen as a harpist played in the background.

I genuinely felt like I’d walked into an episode of The Crown, minus the corgis and tiaras.

The staff treated us like royalty from the moment we arrived until the second we (reluctantly) left the gorgeous castle grounds.

As a special Christmas treat, the castle will be open for each Sunday in December and Monday, December 23 for afternoon tea.

And it’s no ordinary afternoon tea.

Inspired by the one and only Queen Victoria, this afternoon tea is bound to make you feel like a true Duchess.

Sip on warm Irish tea from a little china cup and cozy up by the toasty fire. Tuck into tasty sandwiches- I’d recommend the roast pork loin with cranberry stuffing and apple relish.

But don’t forget to leave room for the sweet treats. There is a huge range of cakes and sweets to enjoy, but you just can’t beat the classic scone that is served with served with clotted cream and jam.

Treat yourself this Christmas and live like a queen at Luttrellstown Castle. Perhaps ask for this divine afternoon tea experience for Christmas?

Afternoon tea €50.

Champagne afternoon tea €65.

Ever since we were kids, we got an advent calendar to start the countdown to Christmas. On December 1, we’d tear off the tinfoil on the first door to discover a little piece of chocolate. It’s a tradition that has always been part of Christmas, in some way, shape or form.

As we got older, we started to buy beauty advent calendars, finding mini lipsticks and hand creams behind each door.

However, we’ve now found the dream advent calendar and it’s currently on sale.

Boots has restocked the adorable Disney Ladies Ankle Socks Advent Calendar and we need to buy one ASAP.

The calendar was swiped up when it was first released and we’re not one bit surprised.

Disney character socks may not be the most stylish choice but they are just too cute.

The 12 Socks of Christmas set features characters like Dumbo, Belle, Olaf, Tinkerbell and Bambi.

The Cruella de Vil socks have to be our favourite. She is the greatest Disney villain after all.

The calendar is currently on sale for Black Friday so make sure you pick one up before they’re all gone. There’s no doubt this delight will sell out super quickly.

The 12 Socks of Christmas calendar is €26.66 and you can buy on here.

The Late Late Toy Show: the one time of the year that it is perfectly acceptable to stay in on a Friday night to watch The Late Late Show.

Whether you preferred Gay, Pat or Tubs himself, most of us would be quick to admit that Christmas just wouldn't be the same without the Toy Show.

And the following best bits are EXACTLY why we love it so much

1. John Joe, the horologist

We were left speechless when he began talking about his future career as a horologist. Yup, we'd never heard of it until John Joe either!

2. That time Domhnall met his hero

Domhnall was completely unprepared when Robbie Keane came out on the stage and surprised him.

3. When Danielle wowed us with her knowledge of all 32 counties

Sitting on her little pink bike, she didn't even bat an eyelid. Yup, we could ALL learn a thing or two from Danielle.

4. When Fionn stood up for small farmers everywhere

“The tractor stops, the tractor stops”; And, yes, he’s got that rapper stare down to a tee.

5. 'Any craic?' 'Níl'

That time Ryan was put in his place by Alex Meehan. Alex – the legend.

6. Or when Toby met Girls Aloud – and looked like he wanted to cry

He even managed to knock back Kimberley Walsh's offer of a kiss.

She told People, “The biggest thing [with this pregnancy] is that I already have a child this time. I’m definitely more tired. Pregnancy is much more difficult when you have a 2-year-old running around.”
