Gardaí have launched a full investigation following the shooting of a 28-year-old man in Dublin last night.

The victim, a fitness instructor from Lucan, was shot a number of times as he sat in his car outside City West shopping centre.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Fortunestown Lane at around 9.20pm.

The man was treated for multiple gunshot wounds at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

It's understood the victim is known to Gardaí and was a friend of Darragh Nugent, who was shot in Clondalkin last week.

Gardaí are now investigating whether or not the two shootings were linked.

Anyone who was in the area between 9pm and 9.30pm and may have information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01-666 6000, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666111 or any garda station.

A warning has been issued to millions of PC users after hackers managed to slip well-hidden malware into two versions of a popular system clean up tool.

CCleaner works by clearing out junk programs and advertising cookies to in order to speed up devices, and is reportedly downloaded up to five million times a week.

However, a version downloaded by two million people in August of this year included a malicious malware which collected system information including PC names and information from the Windows registry key.

It's thought the virus tried to connect to a number of unregistered web pages in an effort to download additional unauthorised programs.

The threat has since been removed, though it went undetected for a number of weeks.

Paul Yung of Piriform said in a statement: “We would like to apologise for a security incident that we have recently found in CCleaner version 5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud version 1.07.3191.”

“We also immediately contacted law enforcement units and worked with them on resolving the issue.”

While the threat was detected in the early stages and information collected it not believed to be sensitive, users are still being urged to o uninstall and reinstall the software as soon as possible.

So, it's fair to say that Sean Spicer caused quite a stir at last night's Primetime Emmy Awards, but it was backstage photo with a certain late night talk show host that has Twitter users in uproar.

Appearing on stage during Stephen Colbert's opening monologue, the former White House Press Secretary divided viewers when he poked fun at his own claim that Donald Trump’s inauguration received the biggest crowds ever.

However, Sean wasn't the only one to receive criticism on the night.

After posing for a snap in which James Corden appears to kiss the former White House secretary on the cheek, social media users were less than impressed with the Late Late Show host.

Some compared the interaction to the controversial moment fellow talk show star Jimmy Kimmel ruffled Donald Trump's hair during an interview last September.

“Corden makes Spicer look like a beacon of honour and sincerity. It’s like Kimmel ruffling Trump’s hair all over again: proper enablers”, one viewer wrote.

Others took to Twitter to express their disappointment, with some even accusing the star of "normalising fascism."

This time last year, we were #blessed by the Joanne Hynes collection for Dunnes Stores, which sold out super quick (people literally qued up for hours to shop the goods!)

Anyway, there were STUNNING fur coats, massive pops of cour and a metallic skirt we're still not over.

Twelve months later, and we are ready for Joanne's newest collection, which launched in Dunnes Stores this week.

Can I get a HALLELUJAH?

Anyway, we were lucky enough to pop in to the gorgeous Dunnes to have a gawk at the beautiful clothes, and we were not disappointed.

The collection was a refreshing burst of colour, with silk shirts, embellished collars and stand-out coats winning our hearts.

The amazing Joanne took inspiration from strong historical Irish women, namely Maud Gonne and Constance Markievicz, with a nod to military styles.

Now, naturally, we have our favourite pieces, which we simply MUST share with you.

Firstly, we were OBSESSED with the embellished head bands, that gave us serious Blair Waldorf vibes.

How GORGEOUS?

Then, we locked eyes with a pair of velvet heels, that literally made our heart flutter with autumnal excitement.

Our FAVOURITE piece in the entire collection was, naturally, the beautiful red military-style coat.

Prices for this marvellous collection start at just €25, and go up to a pretty pricey €950 – so there is something for every budget!

However, it is set to sell out pretty darn fast (not surprising), so get your butts to Dunnes ASAP.

After four years spent in an Egyptian prison, Dublin native, Ibrahim Halawa, has been acquitted of all charges and is expected to be released in the following days.

The 21-year-old was among hundreds of protestors who were arrested during a Muslim Brotherhood demonstration in Cairo in August 2013. He has just 17-years-old at the time.

The verdict comes after Ibrahim’s trail was adjourned 25 times due to the complications of a mass trail.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he “wholeheartedly welcomes this conclusion,” and will facilitate his return to Ireland at the “earliest opportunity”.

“I want to acknowledge the consular and diplomatic work undertaken on Ibrahim’s behalf by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Irish Embassy in Cairo throughout this lengthy process. Following today’s verdict, they will continue to assist Ibrahim and his family to ensure he gets home as soon as possible.”

Ireland's aviation commission say Ryanair must offer its customers an alternative flight or a full refund if a service is cancelled.

Last week, the budget airline announced that it would cancel up to 50 flights a day for the next six weeks after it mismanaged its employee holiday rota.

The company have so far released details of cancellations up to and including Wednesday, September 20, however, there are now calls for management to publish the full list of cancelled flights as customer's frustration begins to grow.

Ireland's Commission for Aviation Regulation is due to meet to discuss the ongoing situation and say it expects some passengers will be entitled to compensation.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the airline company have lost up to 140 pilots in the last to low-cost competitor Norweigian Air, though Ryanair bosses deny these claims.

A list of all published flight cancellations can be found here.

Potterheads rejoice!

It's time to put all that wizarding knowledge to good use because the good folk over at the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio tour are looking for new recruits.

Applicants should have enthusiasm and personality in bucket loads as well as a flair for customer service and a passion for all things magical.

There are a number of positions available including Interactor, Sales Associate and Warehouse Associate, and according to the tour's official website, there will an assessment day held on Friday September 22 – so you better get a move one.

The official job description reads:

"The warm welcome that visitors receive from all our employees makes a huge difference to their excitement and enjoyment of the Studio Tour. If you have enthusiasm, personality and a flair for customer service, this could be the place for you with either a full-time, part-time or seasonal role.

"Our Visitor Hosts are the frontline team, responsible for meeting, greeting and assisting our visitors upon arrival and again when they depart. Our knowledgeable Interactors are full of behind-the-scenes filmmaking secrets which they are eager to share, and our Retail Associates help visitors find the perfect souvenir following their special day with us."

And while successful applicants will need to relocate to London, we're pretty sure we'd be willing to make that sacrifice.

On Sunday night, some of Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars descended on the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles for the 69th Primetime Emmy awards.

While the award ceremony has previously been criticised for being boring and unmemorable, viewers general agreed that this year's offering was quite the opposite.

Host Stephen Colbert brought the laughs, Alec Baldwin brought the gags about Trump and there was even a surprise appearance from former press secretary Sean Spicer (though it's safe to say the audience didn't know how to feel about that one).

In general, acceptance speeches were well planned and expertly delivered, though one in particular stole the show.

First time winner, Nicole Kidman scooped the award for best lead actress for her performances as domestic abuse survivor, Celeste Wright, in the critically acclaimed series Big Little Lies – and things got pretty emotional.

The actress began by thanking her co-star, Reese Witherspoon, who was also nominated in the same category.

“Reese, I share this with you. Without you I would not be standing up here.”

She went on to thank her huband, Keith Urban and their daughters, Faith and Sunday, before dedicating her Emmy to raising awareness of domestic abuse.

“It is a complicated, insidious disease. It exists far more than we allow ourselves to know. It is filled with shame and secrecy, and by you acknowledging me with this award, it shines a light on it even more.”

In total, Big Little Lies scooped five gongs including the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor which went to Nicole's on-screen abuser, Alexander Skarsgård.

Looking for something to this week, that doesn't involve Netflix, or the gym?

Yeah, so are we.

That is why we are SO excited to tell you about a play that's coming to The Gaiety theatre this week.

The Spinning Heart is a novel by Donal Ryan that speaks for contemporary Ireland like no other novel ever has. It captures the language and spirit of rural Ireland and with uncanny perception articulates the words and thoughts of a generation.

This brilliant book has been adapted for the stage, and is hitting The Gaiety from tomorrow (Tuesday 19th), and will run until the 23rd.

What's it all about, I hear you ask?

"Everyone loves Bobby Mahon. Everyone that is, except his Da. Revered by his men on the building site, captain of the team that almost won the county final, loved by his wife, Triona, only Bobby himself knows the dark thoughts that prey on his mind, presaging tragic events to come."

The Spinning Heart reveals the devastation wrought on a community in a west Tipperary village by economic ruin and consequent savage austerity.

One by one the colourful characters’ varied stories build a panorama of a foundering society, while a narrative thread running through their accounts unveils unexpected dramatic events, stealing out of dark, hidden corners.

The stage production preserves the original structure and narrative style of the book while highlighting, often with a scabrous humour, the toll in human terms of recent times in Ireland.

I was lucky enough to see the play earlier this year, and genuinely loved every second of it.

Do yourself a favour, and get down to The Gaiety this week – you won't regret it!

Tickets start at just €16 (sure, that's a bargain), and are available here

Following a historic three-in-a-row All-Ireland victory from the Boys in Blue at Croke Park yesterday, it's safe to say that an awful lot of Dublin GAA fans are waking up with sore heads this morning.

But, the party isn't over yet.

Dub supporters will today have the chance to celebrate with the winning team as they descend on Smithfield square for a special homecoming from 6.30pm this evening.

Lord Mayor Mícheál Mac Donncha says there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the festivities.

"(Smithfield is) a big open-air space with plenty of room for everybody and we'll be greeting the squad after I host a reception at the Mansion House. We look forward to a huge celebration for the 3-in-a-row Dubs."

This is a family-friendly and alcohol-free event and Dublin City Council have asked those who intend on travelling to the homecoming to use public transport.

Commuters should note that the Smithfield Luas stop may be closed from 6pm to 8pm, though the Four Courts and Museum stops will still be in use.

Supporters can gain access to event from North King Street, Friary Avenue and Thundercut Alley.

Let's hope those jerseys aren't too wrecked from yesterday's shenanigans.
