At least 226 people have died after a strong earthquake struck central Mexico yesterday evening.

The death toll was confirmed by the country's civil defence agency, though it is feared that number may rise as rescue crews and volunteers search through rubble in hope of finding survivors who may still be trapped.

The 7.1 magnitude quake caused widespread devastation in the capital and neighbouring states.

Disaster struck just hours after a number of emergency drills were conducted exactly 32 years after a similar quake killed thousands in Mexico city.

More than 20 children and two adults were found dead at a school in Coapa and President Enrique Peña Nieto said a further 30 children and 12 adults are missing.

Approximately 2 million people in the Mexico City were left without electricity or phone lines and residents were warned not to smoke on the street as gas mains could have been broken.

In a televised address, the president said an emergency had been declared.

"We may still find people under the rubble. Stay in touch, follow lines of communication, we will keep people updated," he said.

According to US Geological Survey, the tremor struck close to the town of Atencingo in the central state of Puebla, 76 miles southeast of Mexico City.

The devastating quake comes just weeks after an 8.1 magnitude tremor killed at least 90 people in southern Mexico.

Ariel Winters has long been the target of salacious tabloid headlines about her body.

The Modern Family star has officially decided that enough is enough, and has posted some words of retalliation to her Instagram.

Taking to the social media platform, the actress published a long rant that said so much about her thoughts on how she is perceived by the world because of her body.

'Something I wish people would realise…I am not TRYING to be featured on Snapchat, I am not trying to be pap'd everywhere I do, I am literally just LIVING and unfortunately, I can't do that without paparazzi following me around everyday,' she began.

A post shared by ARIEL WINTER (@arielwinter) on

'I'm not trying to show you my ass in shorts when I go to the grocery store. I'm trying to live my life. People wear shorts. People have wardrobe malfunctions. No one is perfect.'

The 19-year-ols star went on to call out those who say she dresses inappropriately.

'I'm not a stylist! I don't know what to wear everyday so I look 'appropriate' or 'fashionable.' Also, screw having to always look appropriate or fashionable. For what? Society?'

A post shared by ARIEL WINTER (@arielwinter) on

'Who gets to decide what is appropriate or fashionable???? I wear what I like and no one should fault me for that.'

'I don't want people to constantly see me in the news for going to dinner, or grocery shopping, or anything. I want to be in the news when I ASK for it by going to a publicised event, or EVEN BETTER when I have work out/coming out!'

'So trust me, I don't want to see me in shorts putting water in my car every single day as much as you don't.'

A post shared by ARIEL WINTER (@arielwinter) on

The star went on to slate those who have latched on to comments she made in a recent interview in which she discussed the way she was dressed as a child.

'I'd also like to address the tweets I get saying 'you accused your mother of sexualising you yet you're a whore.' I was a CHILD being dressed like I was 24. I was 8-13 years old.'

'I wasn't an ADULT as I am now.'

'As you mature at 16, 17, 18 you further develop your own identity and can make decisions for yourself.'

A post shared by ARIEL WINTER (@arielwinter) on

'As a child, you do as you're told regardless of what is good for you,' she explained.

'I'm an ADULT now, who can make my own choices and have my own identity.'

'And just because I DECIDE to show my body occasionally doesn't mean I'm unintelligent or that I'm talentless or that I have no self respect."

Hear hear, gal, hear hear.

You know that fear you get as you rock up to a special event, PRAYING that nobody is wearing the same outfit as you?

Every time I attend a wedding, there is that tiny glimmer of fear that someone will be donning the same dress as me.

How would you react if FIVE people were wearing the same dress as you? Because this actually happened recently.

Image result for AWKWARD

Six women attended a wedding earlier this month, wearing the exact same navy dress from Forever New.

Seriously #awkward case of 'who wore it better' if you ask me…

However, the ladies were absolute trooper about the whole situation, and even posed for a photo with the bride.

Don't they actually look like they're the bridesmaids? It was our first thought!

One of these lovely ladies actually shared the picture on Forever New's Facebook page, and it has since garnered quite a bit of attention online.

You really should start a bridal registry so that your customers can enquire whether anyone else has purchased one of your dresses for the same event. No we are NOT the bridesmaids just the guests. I think I deserve a gift voucher for all this advertisement.

The post has amassed over 40,000 likes on Facebook, with thousands commenting on the hilarity of the situation.

This is taking twinning to a whole new level.

When we think Kim Kardashian, the first thing that springs to mind is probably her reality TV empire, makeup collection and enviable curves.

Her feminist ideology probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind, but the reality TV queen has opened up about her feelings regarding gender equality.

Speaking to Allure, Kim outlined her feminist stance.

'I don’t really live by society’s ideals, so what I would hope is just that women are equal, in every way,' she told the beauty bible.

'Whether it’s equal pay, equal rights, I just feel like women should have the same rights as men.'

Kim pointedly said that she feels that women should have the right to do what they wish without shame or stigma.

A post shared by Allure Magazine (@allure) on

'I definitely think that women should just have the rights of what they do with their bodies and I think that’s really frustrating when certain rights are being taken away.'

'I feel like we’re just moving backwards when we’ve come so far.'

Kim has previously been shamed online for her risque selfies, and for her original claim to fame – a sex tape with  former partner.

She went on to say that she will also teach North and Saint the same life lessons, from how to throw a party to how to keep a home.

Dublin Bus have just introduced one of the most comprehensive Workplace Gender Transition Policy and Guidelines in the country.

The move comes as part of the transport company's Equality, Diversity and Non-Discrimination Strategy and has been devised in consultation with Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI).

Ireland's Gender Recognition Act was signed into law in 2105, meaning that any individual over the age of 18 can choose their true gender indentity.

According to Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI), companies need to be more aware what is happening and Sara Phillips, Chair, TENI said:

“TENI is delighted to work in partnership with Dublin Bus to create one of the most progressive policies on transgender inclusion in the workplace.”

“Dublin Bus is part of the fabric of our capital city and it is encouraging that they both, value their transgender employees and are working towards making Dublin a more trans friendly city.”

The new guidelines include recommendations for employees, managers and HR departments on how to support a fellow employee's transition.

“It may be daunting for an employee to approach their manager in the workplace on this issue. These guidelines were created to help foster dialogue and understanding of trans issues. Just as there are gay, lesbian and bisexual employees in Dublin Bus, there are also employees who are trans,” said Vivienne Kavanagh, Employee Development and Equality Executive.

As one of the largest employers in the country, Dublin Bus is considered to be one of the most progressive in terms of supporting diversity among its workforce.

Commenting on the launch, Ray Coyne, Dublin Bus CEO said “We are committed to managing a workplace that integrates, benefits from, and achieves equality for our diverse employees, as well as promoting an inclusive workplace that celebrates and supports diversity.”

Actress, Kate Walsh recently opened up about a secret health scare, revealing that she was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the former Grey's Anatomy star explained how she suffered a variety of physical and cognitive problems before being diagnosed with a “very sizable brain tumour.”

“My pilates instructor said, ‘Hey, your right side is dipping,’ and it didn’t feel like I was off, but I looked down and could see it. Then when I was driving, I started swerving into the right lane.”

The actress went on to explain show she also experienced extreme exhaustion and would often lose her train of thought.

“The exhaustion got to the point where I could drink five cups of coffee and still not feel awake or clear… I would lose my train of thought, I wasn’t able to finish sentences, and that was when I got really alarmed.”

Having originally put her symptoms down to the onset of menopause, a “instinct” prompted Kate to book an appointment with a neurologist.

“I went in for the MRI, and you know it's serious when they don't even wait, they're like 'hey, the radiologist wants to see you.' And she starts to say, 'Well, it looks like you have a very sizable brain tumour'… and I just left my body.”

Just three days after the shock diagnosis, Kate had the tumour surgically removed.

The actress took nine months off before returning to work and says the experience was the “wake up call” she needed to slow down.

Tomorrow will be cloudy and misty with widespread rain and drizzle affecting most areas. Slightly cooler with top temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

The outlook remains unsettled for the rest of the week scattered showers and short sunny spells.

Early predictions suggest the weekend will be wet and windy, though some sunny spells are expected on Sunday.

Bye-bye summer, see you next year.
