Just when we thought Meryl Streep had played every character worth playing, the Oscar-winner goes and surprises us by dressing up as none other than Donald Trump.

Dressed in a comically long red tie, fat suit and orange wig – with a face full of badly applied fake tan – the 66-year-old actress joined Christine Baranski on stage last night at the annual Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater Gala in Central Park.

The two actresses looked the part as Meryl sang lines like "You'll let me know, why all the women say no" to The Big Bang Theory's Christine who was dressed as Hillary Clinton.

The performance of Brush Up Your Shakespeare from musical Kiss Me, Kate was highly praised on Twitter as audience members tweeted excitedly about the rather unusual duet.

All we need now is for Meryl to run for president.

When Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama announced their split over the weekend, the sound of a million hearts could be heard breaking all over the world.

After six years together, die-hard Delmer fans were certain a wedding was on the horizon, but it looks like it just wasn't meant to be.

Having told fans that she and That 70s Show actor were still the best of friends, Demi then insisted that they would always be supportive of each other.

But since the news broke, sources close to the popular former couple have offered further details into the split, with one insider revealing that the two stars were more like siblings than partners.

"It had turned into more of a big brother-little sister kind of relationship," a source told E! News. "The romance wasn't what it used to be."

Explaining that the 36-year-old actor played an incredibly important role in the former Disney star's life, an insider revealed: "Wilmer is still very protective of her. He did a lot for her."

"There was a lot of love there," the source insisted. "They love each other but aren't in love anymore. They are really great friends which they'll continue to be but the romance sort of died."

Sounds a lot like what happened to poor ol' Tayvin, right?

Getting engaged is magical, but getting engaged at Disney World's Gay Day celebrations with the help of Kesha is in a different league entirely.

So, it's no surprise that Instagram went into total meltdown when the We Are Who We Are singer uploaded a snap of one incredibly special moment in the lives of two of her fans.

Having helped the two men get engaged on-stage over the weekend, the 29-year-old singer, who has long since been an advocate for LGBT rights, explained how much the moment meant to her.

"Overcome and overwhelmed with emotion on stage last night," she began. "I'm honored that @jnegrelli57 & @m_abu24 shared such a monumental moment with me, and let me help orchestrate their surprise engagement."

"Love is the magic in life, and really there is nothing more important," she continued in the post which has been liked more than 70,000 times since it hit Instagram.

"He said yes," she wrote. "He actually said "a million times, yes" Then my heart melted and I cried. haha. congratulations."

Kesha's page has been flooded with well wishes since the upload, with one Instagram user writing: "So many reasons to love her and this and everything she stands for."

We don't claim to know much about wine.

From choosing our vino based on the price to opting for one bottle over another simply because of its label, we're far from aficionados.

The one thing we DO know, however, is that white wine goes in the fridge and red wine goes on the counter, right? Well no, not exactly.

According to Jancis Robinson, the editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine, refusing to store your red wine in the fridge is a fool's game.

Speaking at the Hay Festival – a Welsh literary festival – Jancis urged us to ignore the myths and chill every damn bottle of vino we own.

"Put any open bottle in the fridge. Even red wine," she said. "Low temperatures slow down chemical reactions including oxidation, which is the enemy of an open bottle."

According to The Independent, it seems chilling wine, whether it's red or white, will help it to last longer and ensure a full-bodied flavour.

Excuse us, we have some rearranging to do at home.

Last week it was Lucy Watson, the week before it was Jasmine Lennard – now it's Gary Beadle’s turn to be publicly criticised by Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson.

After a tumultuous few weeks which saw Charlotte Crosby reveal her ectopic pregnancy and quit Geordie Shore for good, Marnie has decided to have her say on her co-stars’ troubled relationship.

The controversial Geordie told Now magazine she doesn't believe Gaz ever wanted to be a father – even after Gary told the Daily Star that he was "devastated" by the loss.

She said: “I don’t believe a word he says.  Gary’s very manipulative.  I know him; I’ve lived with him.  Gary’s never said he wanted to be a dad.”

“I don’t think Gary has any remorse about any of it.  If he had any remorse he would have apologised – but he hasn’t.”

Marnie – who recently returned to the Geordie Shore house to film series 13 of the reality show – also said she believes Charlotte will regret leaving the show.

She said: “I think she made this decision in anger and I think she’ll regret it.  I hope she’ll change her mind and come back – the house will feel lost without her.”

Following a trip to Dublin Zoo last week, Claire Gray from Newtownards in Co. Down lost a very important member of the family, and she has been appealing to the public for their help ever since.

Explaining that Matilda Doll was given to her baby daughter who died three months after her birth in 2013, Claire has understandably taken comfort in the doll and immediately took to social media after realising she had become separated from her in the Phoenix Park.

"My little baby daughter Matilda grew her angel wings in 2013 aged 3 months due to Edwards Syndrome," Claire wrote. "She was given a gorgeous little dolly with her name on it when she was born. We call her "Matilda Doll".

"I've cuddled Matilda doll to sleep every night since Matilda passed away," Claire explained in the post which has been shared thousands of times since its upload. "Matilda Doll" even came to hospital with me when Matilda's baby brother Archie was born."

Claire explained that on Monday May 30th she lost the doll, writing: "Somewhere between the zoo shop, gate and Lord Walk's carpark "Matilda doll" went missing."

"Thank you to everyone who has been looking for her, " Claire wrote. "We now think someone maybe took her home or else she's lying in different part of Phoenix park. For us she is a piece of our little Matilda. I feel so stupid for losing "Matilda Doll" and very distressed."

After a week of searching, Matilda Doll still hasn't been returned home, but we're crossing our fingers for the Gray family and urging everyone to get sharing.

There’s been a whole host of crazy wedding stories going viral lately, but today’s one is a true case of bridezilla overload.

After agreeing to be bridesmaid at a childhood friend’s wedding, Reddit user, bridehairthrowaway, received a rather unusual email from the bride-to-be – an email which told her that in order to avoid clashing with the wedding colours she must dye her red hair.

Confused by the request, the woman went to Reddit seeking advice in a post which is now all over the internet.

Referring to the bride in question as ‘Ella’, she wrote: “Yesterday morning I received an email from Ella."

"It seemed pretty standard but then when she got into the look she wants for her bridesmaids she wrote: ‘Bridehairthrowaway, you'll need to dye your hair for the day, I'll take you to my hairdresser and cover the cost.’”

The bridesmaid then explained how her hair is naturally ginger but because the bride and the rest of the bridal party are brunette, Ella was insisting she dye her hair so she didn’t “take away from the cohesiveness of the group”.

Upon telling the bride that she was uncomfortable with the request, she was told “brides get a veto over pretty much every aspect of her bridesmaids’ appearances” and that she had “attention-grabbing” hair.

She asked the online community if it was a reasonable request and revealed that the other bridesmaids had messaged her saying she should obey the bride’s request.

Reddit almost unanimously agreed that the bride’s behaviour was OTT, with users even suggesting that aside from asking the bridesmaid to change her skin colour the request couldn’t have been much worse.

In a later post, bridehairthrowaway said that it was now unlikely she would have any part in Ella’s big day.

She also revealed that since the original post she has learned through a mutual friend that Ella’s groom-to-be ‘Pete’ has a thing for red heads.

“Charles called me and informed me that Pete has a redhead fetish…This all kind of made sense.  I've met Pete a couple of times and Ella always seemed to be in a rush to leave the conversation and move on.  He also stared a lot.”

It sounds like this bride has more on her mind than clashing colours!

We love nothing more than eating out or grabbing a bite on the go, so we like to know that everyone is on their best game when it comes to serving the public.

And with the weather heating up and more of us opting to eat out rather than slave over a hot stove, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland have issued a health and safety warning to businesses around the country.

The stark warning comes after 12 closure orders were issued to food businesses during the month of May.

Under the FSAI Act, 1998, Closure Orders were issued to:

  • Syrian Foods (food stall), 14 Creagh Woods, Gorey, Wexford
  • Chens Chinese Take Away, Parnell Street, Mountmellick, Laois
  • Centra Lower William Street (supermarket), 9 William Street, Limerick
  • Mr Simms Old Sweet Shoppe (sweet shop), 59 Dame Street, Dublin 2
  • Lal Quila (restaurant), Tramway Terrace, Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork
  • China Kitchen (restaurant), Market Place, Clonmel, Tipperary

Under the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010, further Closure Orders were issued to:

  • “Paddy Jack” food stall (Closed activity: cooking of raw meat), Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
  • Kashmir Kebab House (take away), 15 Davis Street, Limerick
  • New Curry House (take away), 62 Newcastle Road Lower, Galway
  • The Nest (pre-school) (Closed activity: use of the main kitchen at the rear of the premises), Block C, Brabazon Hall, Ardee Street, Dublin 8
  • Caoch O'Leary (public house), Ballacolla, Laois
  • El Grito (restaurant), (Closed activity: preparation of raw kebabs), 3 Merchants Arch, Temple Bar, Dublin 2

Reminding businesses of the importance of exercising extra caution during particular weather conditions, Dr Pamela Byrne, Chief Executive, FSAI said: “It is particularly important during the summer months that all food businesses adhere to the strictest food safety measures.”

“All food businesses must have robust food safety management systems in place to ensure the highest protection for their customers,” she continued.

“We advise all food businesses, to ensure they are prepared for the increase in temperature and that all staff are trained to ensure that best food safety procedures are understood and applied."

Remember when it was totally OK to publicly shame an entire nation as part of a weather report? Yeah, us neither.

Unfortunately however, the memo never reached News 7 reporter, Josh Massoud, who reported on a series of storms which hit Sydney over the weekend, and inexplicably used it as a platform to get a dig in at the Irish down under.

Reporting on the extensive damage caused by storms in Coogee, Josh shared an image of Coogee beach before taking aim at our friends and family members living in the Australian city.

"Coogee demolished over the weekend and for a pleasant change, the Irish aren't to blame," he posted on both Twitter and Instagram over the weekend.

Stunned by the blatant racism exhibited by the journalist, social media users wasted no time having their say on the ill-advised remark.

"Nice to see Aussie journalists thinking casual racism is witty," wrote one member of the public.

"If a similar comment had been made about other nationalities or minorities there would be uproar but here it's OK to insult 100's of 1000's of Irish living here and 4 million more at home."

"So insulting! This is not acceptable. Racism is not funny in any form!" wrote another. "I'm proud to be Irish living in Australia and I've chosen to bring my daughter up here but comments like this from public figures make me want to get the first plane home."

Good one, Josh. You played a blinder with that one…

Models Gigi and Bella Hadid are known the world over for their stunning good looks, but their mother’s latest holiday snaps show that the source of the girls’ beauty is no great mystery after all.

Last night Yolanda Hadid – who is currently holidaying on the tropical island of Tahiti – took to Instagram to showcase her incredible figure in a red and black bikini.

And the 52-year-old Real Housewives star made sure to let her 1.8million followers know she’s not taking her time away for granted.

She captioned the post: “Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with Love, Grace and Gratitude”.

Not only has Yolanda – who divorced music producer David Foster in December – shared the happy moments of her life with fans recently, she’s also been documenting her ongoing battle with Lyme disease.

Last week the model shared a photo of herself undergoing treatment for the condition – an illness which Bella also suffers from – and despite being hooked up to a drip, she seemed to be feeling pretty upbeat as she smiled and posed for the camera.

She captioned the image: “Strenght does not come from physical capacity, but rather from an indomitable will to get well and never give up” [sic].

We're loving this lady's ability to remain positive through the good times and the bad.

G'wan Yolanda!

If anyone is going to have an insider perspective on Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid's rollercoaster romance, it's going to be Zayn's former fiancée, right?

Following reports that the former 1D member is no longer in a relationship with Kendall Jenner's BFF, a source close to Zayn's former girlfriend, Perrie Edwards, reportedly admitted that she wasn't overly surprised.

Speaking to HollywoodLife.com, the insider explained that the Little Mix star knows how difficult it can be to date the Bradford native, saying: "She knows the chaos all too well."

"The ups and the downs with Zayn were exhausting and she’s just happy that she’s in a different place in her life now," they added.

Having been unceremoniously dumped by Zayn back in 2015, the 23-year-old singer is apparently unsurprised that Zayn and Gigi's romance has been far from plain sailing.

"Perrie isn’t surprised that there is already drama circling over Zayn and Gigi," the insider admitted. "Are they together? Did they split? She’s just relieved that she’s not part of it."

She's not the only one!
