Two grooms were tieing the knot in Texas, when singer Jennifer Hudson surprised them by joining the party.

This was one of Dallas' first same-sex marriages and Jennifer wanted to make sure it was a day to remember.

During the wedding ceremony, as the grooms exchanged their vows, they were treated to a congratulations video by Jennifer herself, but the real surprise was yet to come.

Congrats to Chris and Scott ! They said girl where the hell u come from!

A photo posted by Jennifer Hudson (@iamjhud) on

Jennifer finished the video saying 'but ya'll hold on, cause I got one more thing.." and when the video finished, the curtain dropped and the songstress herself appeared to sing I still love you from her latest album JHUD.

The grooms and all of the guests at the wedding joined in singing and dancing along to the song as Jhud sang with two backing dancers to the newlyweds.

The couple have been together for 14 years and have four children, but it is only in the past few weeks that they have gained the right to marry each other.

'I owe a large part of my success to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, who has embraced and supported me from early on in my career,' Jennifer said.

It was the rather bizarre photoshoot that caught our – and the world's – attention yesterday.

And now, thankfully, yet more shots have been released from the current edition of System magazine, which stars Kim Kardashian.

Styled by Kanye West, the photographs have certainly raised eyebrows – with many observers panning them as ridiculous.

Who knew, however, that Ms Kardashian was such a big fan of the great outdoors?

Taken several weeks ago at the sprawlling Château d’Ambleville in northern France, and by famed photographer Juergen Teller, the 34-year-old reality TV star can be seen posing up alongside some farm machinery.

She also lies out in a grassy field, and happily looks out onto the French countryside.

All these photographs, and more, appear in a special pull-out section of System, entitled Kanye, Juergen & Kim.

While fans are normally hugely supportive of Kim's forays into fashion, it seems many have drawn a line this time.

"I am dying of laughter and can't stop. Please I'm begging you no more," said one fan online. "I still can't believe they would release these shots," mused another.

"These photos wouldn't look out of place from 'Naughty Farmers Wives Monthly'. She looks absolutely ridiculous," suggested a third.

Mr Teller is a 51-year-old German photographer who is well known for snapping a host of high-profile names and faces.

He has held numerous exhibitions around the world, and is often behind the lens for designer label adverts.

Still, System is delighted with the publicity that the photographer and Kimye have now created.

Indeed, with a huge amount of interest from the US (where the publication is ordinarily not available) already, the editors have ordered a larger than normal print run.

A select few outlets outside of France have also been given a limited number of copies to sell, while from tomorrow the magazine will also be available for purchase from system-magazine.com.

When we hear the name Ryan Reynolds the first things that we think of are “oooh yeah, he’s hot,” “his wife is SUPER hot” and “he’s so funny on Twitter.”

Sadly, his reputation as an actor comes in at a distance fourth.

When Ryan first emerged in the industry as the infamous forever-a-college-student Van Wilder, it looked as if the 38-year-old was all set for a golden career in comedy.

He then took the Hollywood rite of passage by starring in a horror flick, The Amityville Horror, which bombed as most of them usually do. Mr Reynolds followed this up with a thankful return to comedy in Just Friends and although it wasn’t well received critically, it is still a fan favourite.

The father-of-one’s career looked like it was heading back in the right direction after his massive hit starring alongside Sandra Bullock in The Proposal. It started to look as if Ryan was about to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, with his very own superhero character in the works. But, unfortunately, that did not go quite as planned…

And so ensues the long list of movie failures that comprises Ryan Reynold’s film career.

It is unfortunate that he is gaining this reputation because he has proved himself to be a worthy actor, and with his devilish charm, handsome good looks and incredible sense of humour, the public absolutely adore him.

It would appear that while the unlucky actor has talent in many areas of his life, choosing a film script isn’t one of them. And with a name attached to a whole host of flops, the chances of getting his hands on a decent project becomes slimmer and slimmer.

However, the Canadian heartthrob is maybe, HOPEFULLY, about to experience an upswing (we are choosing to overlook the sure-to-be bomb, Self/less that comes out today) with his upcoming film, Deadpool.

While we have yet to see a trailer for the anti-hero flick that is based on a video game, the initial test footage looks like it could well be a hit.

And if his performance is anything like the wonderfully weird portrayal of the adorable mentally ill serial killer that he gave in the totally underrated The Voices, we can definitely envision Ryan climbing his way back to the top.

We are not now nor have we ever been a large country – but we are certainly getting bigger.

In fact, when it comes to population growth, Ireland is booming. Last year, there were 4,605,500 of us knocking around; this year, that's swelled to 4,625,900.

According to Eurostat, we continue to have the highest birthrate in Europe, and the second lowest rate of deaths (behind only Cyprus): 66,500 babies were born here with only 29,300 deaths occurring.

Gordon D'Arcy and Aoife Cogan welcomed a daughter in May

In contrast, 700,000 babies were born in Germany, but 875,000 Germans died.

However, with 16 percent of the total EU population (81.2million people), Germany continues to be the most populated EU country, ahead of France (66.4million residents) and the United Kingdom (64.8million residents).

On 1 January 2015, the population of the European Union was 508.2million, compared with 506.9 million the year before.

In March, Ibec chief executive Danny McCoy said the island of Ireland can expect to hit a population of 10million before 2050.

Little Penelope Disick celebrated her third birthday on Wednesday, and we're still taking in the adorableness of the whole event.

As well as an all-day party in Disneyland with her mum Kourtney, brother Mason, aunt Kim, grandma Kris and cousin North, the birthday girl also got a few birthday messages via Instagram too. And when your aunt just so happens to have 40.2m followers, that seems like a pretty cool gift to us.

Last night Kim shared some gorgeous pictures, calling Penelope the "best big cousin" to two-year-old North. "These wild ladies always help each other," she wrote posting some never-seen-before snaps of the two toddlers together. Like this one, which has us feeling ready to snuggle up in bed:

And this snap of the two hugging after North had a "boo boo" on her knee:

And, of course, this snap of the two "ballerina buddies":

These two. We can't cope. Penny's mum Kourtney posted a few snaps of her little one's Disney party, writing "You forever changed my life and my heart and teach me so much everyday. Happy birthday my tinkerbell angel"

So cute. She also thanked KIm "for hanging with my crazy Disney obsessed self for 12 hours of major madness."

Looks like it was a fun day!

Our fave Hollywood gal, Jennifer Lawrence, may be ready for a new career in singing!

The Hunger Games star was a guest on Conan alongside her Mockinjay – part 2 co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

Jen explained how singing in front of people is her worst nightmare, but somehow Conan O' Brien and his other guests managed to get her to sing. And her song of choice? Cher, 'Believe'!

Josh even joined in with her and it seems like this might not be the first time these two have sang this song together.

This isn't our first time hearing Jennifer sing, when she sang the song 'hanging tree' in the Mockingjay the song rocketed to number 1 in the American charts.

Never change, Jen.

It looks like all of our favourite apps are staring in the dark face of banishment over in the UK.

New laws are set to pass that will see the banishment of WhatsApp, Snapchat and iMessage because they use encrypted messages.

The government views the use of encryption as a potential security threat and they hope to ban the use of those types of messages with the Draft Communications Data Bill, or as it’s more commonly known, the “snooper’s charter.”

The bill stipulates that internet service providers and mobile phone companies are to retain records of each user’s internet browsing activity.

There does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel though. If the companies restructure their apps to meet the proposed requirements, they will be allowed to stay up and running.

So while the Brits may get to continue using the apps in the future, they may want to think twice before sending any sexy snapchats… you never know just who might be having a snoop.

After a ten-day search, a body has been recovered by sea divers which is believed to be that of Cork student Barry Davis Ryan.

Barry drowned on June 30th when he entered the water in Baltimore, West Cork, to try and save his girlfriend Niamh O'Connor after she was swept into the sea while walking. Both Ms. O'Connor and Barry's father, Barry Ryan Snr, died in the tragedy.

The bodies of Mr. Ryan Snr and Ms. O' Connor were recovered later that same day and their funerals were held last weekend.

The extensive search over the last week and a half was carried out by 70 experienced divers and 52 other support officials, all of whom volunteered their time to try and recover Barry's body.

Barry was the grandson of Penney's founder Arthur Ryan, who last weekend paid tribute to his son Mr. Ryan Snr at his funeral in Baltimore, calling him a "true hero" for sacrificing his life to try to save others.

Speaking on RTE News last week, Barry's mother Ann Davis said she was still struggling to come to terms with what had happened. "The loss is huge. I’ve lost two of the loved ones," she said.

"Barry, the dad was a very spiritual, very intelligent man, and my son was a lovely boy. Very intelligent as well. When I heard that two were gone and Barry was missing. What can you say. I still can’t believe it. It’s hard to come to terms with it."

Our thoughts are with all the families involved at this time.

There is nothing more annoying than when you go to an airport and all of a sudden you are being charged for extra luggage, hand luggage, overweight luggage and even for checking in itself.

And we’re definitely not the only ones who feel like this. This boyband singer decided that he REALLY didn’t want to hand over the cash and he ended up… in the hospital!

James McElvar collapsed from heat exhaustion when he was on a flight from London to Glasgow and wearing 12 layers of clothes to avoid paying for a bag.

The Rewind singer lost consciousness while he donned six T-shirts, four jumpers, three pairs of jeans, two pairs of tracksuit bottoms, two coats AND two hats.

The 19-year-old had started to undress when he boarded the flight but by that stage his body temperature had already dramatically risen and he began to sweat profusely before becoming extremely sick and losing consciousness.

James was brought to hospital where he recovered. The band posted from their Twitter saying, “For everyone asking, James is OK. He is being looked after in hospital now back home safe in Glasgow. He sends you all his love.”

Well, it’s probably safe to say that the lesson has been learned. Next time we think he may at least bring a carry-on!

Just when all traces of that blue/black/white/gold dress had finally disappeared from your newsfeed, there's another colour confusing picture that has popped up.

And it's melting our brains.

Someone posted up a picture of a shoe with two nail polishes beside it, asking which nail polish matches the colour of the shoe.

Sounds innocent enough, but the internet has been completely divided in its answers and we are sorry to inform you that another debate has started.

@totallymendes who tweeted the picture, quickly received more than 6,000 retweets and 7,000 favourites, but sadly not an answer.

People are so confused as to which colour nail varnish matches best with some people being #teamright and others #teamleft.

Others are just getting mad…

So which is it? Right or left? Ammmmm…. We literally have no idea. Done. Bye.

It’s official. Emojis are now one step closer to complete world domination. With the help of one website we are now one step closer to living in a world where all we need are tiny animations to communicate entire music videos.

Such. A. Good. Call. @badgalriri AM I RIGHT OR NO

A photo posted by thefatjewish (@thefatjewish) on

A product designer for Facebook, George Kedenburg III (seriously) and Eric Nakagawa, who is the same person who is responsible for the site I Can Haz Cheeseburger have created an emoji generator.

Basically, they take the link of your favourite (or any) website and turn it into a working link of emojis for you to enjoy. If you’re not happy with the first one generated, you can do it again. Hours of fun, hours.

To try it, just copy and paste the link of your website into Linkmoji and paste the result into your browser to see the full functioning link in action. Your favourite watermelon slice emoji is now multi-functional.

For example, we did an emoji make over on some of our favourite sites, and they all worked perfectly too… we’ve never been more proud of the tiny pizza slice. SHEmazing.net, for example:

Quickly becomes:

Both Eric and George seem pretty surprised with the reaction to the site as they took to Twitter to express their happy surprise. We’re not really sure what’s so surprising.

People generally get very excited about emojis, they’ve taken over the fashion world already, it was only a matter of time before they started wiping out actual words themselves.
