There were fears for Jennifer Lawrence’s safety earlier when an excited crowd pushed through the barrier, causing her security to whisk her to safety.

The incident happened after Jennifer met with fans outside The David Letterman Show – but things soon took a sinister turn as people pushed, causing the barrier to collapse.

The photos emerging from the situation show Jennifer looking quite distressed – we think we would be too if hundreds of people suddenly rushed towards us!

Hopefully this scary incident won’t be enough to put Jen off meeting her fans – as she was once praised so highly for shunning a barrier completely especially to say hello to a little girl who couldn't see her properly as she was in a wheelchair.

We’re not surprised Jen is not a fan of the fame game, it certainly hasn’t treated her very well up to this point.

Most women menstruate for between three and seven days each month. When our period is late or unusually light, it's natural to get a bit worried!

While it's always wise to check with your GP or pharmacist if you're panicking, keep in mind that pregnancy or illness aren't the only reasons behind irregular periods.

Here are a few causes that you might not have known about…

1. Stress
When we are overly stressed, anxious or run-down, our body can go through a series of hormonal changes which can mess up our cycle or stop it completely. Extreme stress can also lead to other problems like bad digestive function, abdominal or muscle pain and heart palpitations.

2. Dietary changes
A severe drop in weight can lead to irregular or missed periods, but so too can weight gain. A diet heavy in fat and carbs can mess up our hormonal function as much as a diet which is lacking in fat.

3. Over-exercising
Our body needs energy to perform basic functions, one of which is menstruation. If you're wearing yourself out at the gym you may notice that you begin missing periods.

4. Use of the Pill
If you have just stopped or started using the Pill for the first time, it will take a while for your body to get back on track, so don't worry if your period arrives later than usual.

5. Alcohol
Our liver is responsible for metabolising oestrogen and progesterone. Excessive alcohol consumption can damage liver function leading to a whole host of problems, one of which is irregular or missed periods.

6. Use of antibiotics
Certain prescription and over-the-counter medicines can cause a hormonal imbalance, meaning your period may arrive a day or two late.

7. Lack of iron
A common symptom of iron-deficiency anaemia is missed or extremely light periods. You may also start feeling overly tired and week. If you suspect you may be anaemic, do consult your GP for tests.

Naya Rivera may be regretting her comment on Kim Kardashian’s Paper photoshoot after being well and truly slammed in an article by Kim’s BFF Jonathan Cheban.

The Glee star left a comment on Kim’s infamous Paper spread, saying: “I normally don’t. But…you’re someone’s mother” and it seems Jonathan has taken GREAT offensive to it.

Rather than allow Kim to fight her own battles (which we all know she is well capable of) Jonathan took to his site, The Dishh and wrote an article on why Naya is the ‘Single White Female’.

The title of his article is a play on the movie which sees a sinister woman copy everything her roommate does. Here’s the trailer!

Jonathan then went on to really lay into Naya (the photo wasn’t enough) and wrote: “Naya has always been a step BEHIND .. After a year-long tour of impersonating Kim, she decided to come out of her shell and make a real statement about Kim’s Paper cover … I’m personally disgusted that after badgering Kim all year and trying to hang out and do business together, she goes and makes a statement like this. Yes Kim is a mother, BUT WHO CARES … have you ever heard of a MILF?!"

"The world wants to see her all day like 1010 Wins. Paper is one of the artiest magazines and has a legendary reputation for being creative and edgy. Who the f*** is Naya to throw in her meaningless comments??”

Jonathan then goes on to list a number of ways in which Naya has copied Kim’s style (complete with pictures) adding: “We all know you want to be Kim, but you don’t get it boo, and the only cover you will be gracing is the Single White Female 2 straight to DVD box set.”

Yikes!

To rub salt in the wound even more, Jonathan titled his article: "I (We) don't f*** with you Naya! Lyric by Big Sean."

Big Sean was once engaged to Naya before the pair had a very messy split earlier this year.

Something tells us this is going to get nasty…

Eight style rules we need to steal from men!

While women’s style is always changing dramatically from trend to trend, men’s fashion generally sticks to the same key rules – smart, tailored and slick!

Their wardrobes generally have more staples and when they find something they like, they have no shame in buying it in seven different colours. The typical man’s style might not be adventurous to the level of say, Lady Gaga’s meat-covered dress, but do we really want it to be?

There are definitely a few key things we can learn from the more style-savvy lads out there… let’s take a look!

1. Less effort is more
One thing stylish men definitely have down is the ability to make things look effortless. A tuck in here, a rumpled shirt there… you’d never know Zac Efron had a team of stylists looking after him!

2. Work with solid colours
Using the same colour palette from head to toe is a great way to keep your style classic and simple. If you’re not a fan of matching top and bottom, take key colour elements and use them throughout your outfit. Jamie Dornan knows how to rock an all-grey suit like a pro:

3. Get the perfect fit
While a man knows a good suit is nothing without some tailoring (Collars and Cuffs can help with this), us ladies don’t give the same concern to our blazers, dresses or skirts. Maybe now’s the time to start – just look to the tailoring king David Gandy for inspiration:

4. Don’t shy away from print
One key bold print can make your outfit stand out from the crowd. We’re big fans of Harry Styles’ outfit – we’d probably wear it ourselves to be honest:

5. Have a laugh!
Men’s style is full of fun elements like bright socks peeking out from suit pants, loud shirts and coloured cuffs. Don’t be afraid to add a touch of humour to your outfit! This street style maven has the right idea:

6. Show off those ankles
Double cuff your jeans or go for a slightly cropped pair with ankle boots – the guys are way ahead of us on this one. We adored Tinie Tempah’s slick Fashion Week look:

7. One accessory can make all the difference
A muted colour palette doesn’t have to be boring – Kanye brings his black suit jacket and grey trousers to life with a bold red bow tie:

8. When in doubt, be as classy as possible
A good wool coat and a long scarf is a slick, elegant look that works equally well for both sexes. Hello winter!

It sounds as if things went downhill fast for TOWIE star Lauren Pope and Kirk Norcross!

The on-off couple only confirmed they were back together once again a month ago – but it appears things have turned sour for them already.

Kirk confirmed what appears to be very much a break-up this morning, when he tweeted: “Phew! Dodged the bullet their! Back to me myself and I.”

While the entire thing may be innocent (although we can’t think what else he could have been referring to) followers have quickly assumed he means his relationship with Lauren is over.

Carrie Mantha, owner of a company called Indira Collection was lucky enough to overhear what seems like the WORST Tinder date of all time – and shared it with the world!

In a series of HILARIOUS tweet, Carrie outlines what seems to be the world’s most obnoxious rich kid on a date with a seemingly normal and nice girl.

Here we go…

The guy seems like a charmer so far…

Well, you have to admire his honesty, no?!

He then described why his other dates of the day didn't quite work out. Quick, keep shoveling that cheesecake into your mouth and you will NEVER have to meet this guy.

Clearly thinking about date number four…

He's so rich, he does drugs you've never even HEARD of

No sibling rivalry here, lads!

Things then took a turn for the un-PC…

And then get a WHOLE lot worse

Thankfully for us all, Carrie has her priorities straight…

Thank you Carrie – this has entertained us no end!

At some stage in our lives, we all have that fantasy idea of love and a happy ever after.

But once you actually are seeing someone or in a committed relationship, the cold hard truth hits. Being in love can be hard work. It can be tough. As well as the good stuff, there can be arguments, misunderstanding and tension.

Sometimes a relationship just isn’t meant to be. Perhaps for the first year or five, things were amazing, but now you’ve realised it’s descending into constant fighting and sniping. Cue a difficult period of decision-making, a bad break-up and heartache for you both.

At times like those it’s easy to swear off men forever. Why on earth would you want to put yourself out there like that again? What’s to be gained by finding The One? Sure, falling is love is great, but what about the pain that comes after?

In theory, closing yourself off from romance can seem like a great survival tactic and a solid long-term plan. The thing is though, love can come in many forms. By shutting down that openness and hopefulness within you, you’re losing a big part of yourself and it will probably end up affecting other parts of your life too.

Being in a committed relationship, although it can be stressful at times, is one of the main ways we begin to learn more about our adult selves. We’re not just looking out for Number One anymore, now we have someone else in our lives too. Being in love lets you see how you adapt to co-existing with someone, it lets you see just how far you’ll go for someone else’s wellbeing, and it lets you see exactly what you really care about.

Numbing past pain by closing yourself off to the dream of The One won’t make you any happier. In fact, you may find it even harder to process those issues if you don’t let yourself move on properly. Just because the partner of your dreams isn’t in your life right now, doesn’t mean he won’t pop up next year, or the year after that. Why miss out on the chance of true contentment just because of one bad experience?

As well as allowing you to learn more about yourself, love really can make you a better person. It makes you want to do right by other people, it makes you kinder and more caring. Yes, a previous relationship might have ended messily, but try to focus on the good things you got out of it, and how you can use those mistakes to help you later on.

Opening yourself up to the idea of The One might seem like a big risk, but it is actually one of the best decisions you can make. What have you got to lose? Even though it mightn’t feel like it at times, life is short. So get out there and embrace everything it has to offer – the good and the bad.

1. It’s okay not to get on with your ex
This may seem like an obvious one, but allow me to explain and rewind a little. What I mean by this is that self-respect is everything. Like many girls, I was a ‘fixer’. I was obsessed with ‘helping’ one guy in particular, and it did me no favours – to be truthful, it broke my heart multiple times.

It’s okay to decide that someone is not for you to help, that they will never change, and to move on. It’s a level of maturity and self-worth that, in hindsight, took me far too long to reach – but no regrets.

2. It’s never too late to make new friends…
When I was younger, I believed that a person made all of his or her friends at school or college, and that was that. Wrong! Every year of my twenties so far – and not just the college years – has brought new friendships with some of the nicest and funniest people I’ve ever met.

3. …but old ones are more special as time passes
As I get older and busier, the friends that I manage to keep in touch with are the ones that mean more and more to me. It can be really difficult (and I’m still working on it!) but the memories and understanding that I share with these people make it all the more worthwhile.

My oldest and wisest friend recently departed to work with a charity in India. Saying goodbye to her was an utter shock to the system. She’s always been around, my whole life, so waving her off and not knowing when she’ll return was no easy feat. Needless to say she wasn’t the first of my friends to emigrate (and she won’t be the last), but that didn’t make the goodbye any less bittersweet. I’m so proud of her that sometimes I see pictures on Facebook and just well up… it seems that another side-effect of getting older is that I cry more easily!

4. Nobody really knows what they’re doing
I’m just beginning to realise that this whole ‘growing up’ racket is a total myth in itself. One of the most difficult lessons I’ve had to learn is that age is by no means a measure of maturity – this is something I find myself saying to friends over and over again. Some of the most, er, memorable (and, in hindsight, hilarious) encounters and exchanges I’ve had with people have surprised me because I kept thinking ‘surely at his/her age, (s)he should know better?!’ Wrong again! Everybody you meet in life is kind of just bumbling along and winging it to some extent.

5. Super high heels aren’t worth it.
When you’re a bit more comfortable in yourself, you care far, far less about what other people think, and learn how to ‘do you’ with ease. For me, this means sticking to what I like to do, rather than what I think I should do.  I grew up believing quite subliminally that women wore heels for all smart occasions. Well, of course they don’t – they wear whatever they feel good in. Lesson learned: I hate heels, therefore I rarely (if ever) wear them.

Oh, and nobody cares, anyway. They’re all far too busy worrying about what others think of them!

We all know and love Lily Allen for causing a stir every now and then – and it seems people are up in arms over her latest Instagram snap.

The singer regrammed a photo by a friend that showed Lily posing with boxes of condoms, pregnancy tests and sex toys which was captioned: “Birthday gifts by @lilyallen who had to pretend she’d had unprotected sex to get me a morning after pill.”

A photo posted by Lily Allen (@lilyallen) on

Many followers have branded Lily’s actions of lying to get her friend the morning after pill as “immoral” while other said: “This is funny if you’re 12.”

Other claimed the lie could be dangerous for the person involved who needed the morning after pill: “silly move. She could be pregnant from previous time. That’s why you should go to pharmacy yourself for these things.”
