Actress Hilary Duff has opened up about the pressure she felt as a teen to stay thin, and her obsessive battle with her weight.

The former Disney star revealed she was "way too skinny" in the early days of her career.

"When I was 17, I weighed, like, 98 pounds," she admitted to Health magazine. "I was totally obsessed with everything I put in my mouth."

The actress also confessed that her strict diet eventually caused her health to suffer in different ways. "My body wasn't that healthy—my hands would cramp up a lot because I wasn't getting the nutrition I needed."

Hilary has dealt with her teenage body image struggles in previous interviews, saying she resorted to living on steamed veg and grilled chicken to stay thin enough for the cameras.

The 27-year-old says she wishes she hadn't focused so much on her looks and weight, and had just been content with her body as it was. "That constant pressure of wanting something different than I had? I regret that," she admitted.

Despite her more positive outlook on weight and health these days, the Lizzie McGuire star says that she is still affected by media pressure, especially since becoming a mum to son Luca in 2012. "Everyone was so hard on me because it took me a year and a half to get my body back," she revealed.

"The second I had Luca, I went to go get my hair blown out at the salon… Then they're like, 'Hilary Debuts Her Post-Baby Body!' I was like, I'm not debuting s**t right now. I'm just going on an errand run! There is way too much pressure on women these days."

Like many women, Hilary admitted she still struggles with those stubborn few pounds. "I feel like I'm always in a 5-pound battle, because being 5 feet 2, everything is going to show on me," she said.

Glad to hear we aren't the only ones with body woes sometimes – it's great to hear a celeb being honest for once!

Amanda Bynes has found herself in hot water again – and she's running out of people to turn to.

The former child star has cut off contact with her parents, after accusing them of trying to steal her money. Refusing to take cash from her family for a hotel, Amanda stayed with some friends in West Hollywood, but things didn't turn out too well.

One of the pals – believed to be the hairdresser who recently dyed the actress' hair violet – revealed that Amanda completely trashed the house she was staying in with three other girls.

The star reportedly left cigarette burns in the carpet and spilled blue hair dye on carpets and sinks.

The three girls also claim that Amanda was extremely difficult to live with, as her mood swung from sweet and happy one moment to angry and rude the next. It seems they were unaware Amanda had recently been diagnosed as bi-polar, something she openly spoke about on social media:

One of the renter's parents has contacted Amanda's family with a $1,500 claim for damages, but the Bynes say the three girls should have known what they were getting into.

Surprisingly, the star has kept quiet on Twitter about the damage charges, so she mustn't be too bothered! Instead she has been speaking about her mysterious "fiancé" once again – a man she says is not her pal Caleb Pusey, but someone else entirely:

Will the drama ever stop?!

Sure, there are times when our other halves could be a little bit more sensitive and attentive, but chances are they think the same about us sometimes. No one's perfect. We all have the tendency to be a little selfish or self-involved at some points in our lives and yes, that sometimes bleeds into our relationships. We get that.

But other times it goes further than that. In which case you need to decide if you should to talk to him about it or if you need to cut your losses and find someone who knows how important it is to laugh at your George Clooney impression.

If you think your boyfriend is emotionally checking out of your relationship, then some of these examples may be a little familiar.

When is enough enough?

1) When he’s more interested in playing Plants vs Zombies on his phone than listening to how your day went.

Are you serious right now?

2) When he checks out other girls in front of you all the time and DOESN’T EVEN HIDE IT!

We looked too, but we hid it!

3) When you mention date-nights  and he sighs.

Oh, will playing Plants vs Zombies prove difficult while cutting your steak?

4) When he jokingly suggests booty-calls could replace aforementioned date nights.

My, you sure know how to make a gal feel special.

5) When he starts complimenting your friends A BIT TOO MUCH.

Eh, reign it in there, partner.

6) When he goes to the bar for a drink and forgets you’re even there.

Gasp. Ghandi’s flip flop anyone?

7) When his friends suddenly know you have your period.

Oh thanks for that, good to know we have a little privacy.

8) When his friends seem more interested in your hilarious anecdotes than he is.

My material is wasted on this loser.

9) When he accidentally forgets your birthday.

Deal breaker

10) When he momentarily forgets your name.

Yeah, we're outta here.

Rumours started last week that Miley Cyrus might be seeing someone new.

The Wrecking Ball singer was spotted leaving the apartment of Patrick Schwarznegger, son of Hollywood A-lister Arnold, which sparked speculation the two might be more than friends. And now it seems MIley's determined to show her romance is the real deal, with some sexy smooching in public!

Miley and her new beau were spotted attending a USC football game together in Los Angeles last night – but they seemed more interested in each other than in the game.

The couple took numerous selfies (as you do) while they sat on the sidelines. They also made some serious PDAs, cuddling and kissing openly.

Miley and Patrick, both aged 21, were also pictured together the previous evening, leaving an L.A. cinema with Patrick's mother Maria and his sister Katherine. No sign of Arnie though!

Although she was linked to her Bangerz album producer Mike Will Made-It a few months ago, Miley's been fairly quiet on the dating front since breaking up with Liam Hemsworth back in 2013.

We're delighted to hear the singer is moving on!

This 1999 drama depicts the lives of young women in a psychiatric hospital in the 1960’s and unsurprisingly, packs quite a punch. Starring Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie and Oscar-nominated Winona Ryder, this adaptation of a young woman's memoirs of her time as a mentally unwell patient is a story that will stay with you long after you've seen it.

The film is so full of ups and downs, we think it’s only right to categorise them accordingly. We did cheat however, and focused more on the good bits, because frankly, Girl, Interrupted can be tough viewing and hey, it’s nice to look on the bright side!

The Good

1) Remember when the patients, in a show of solidarity for their new friend Susanna, stood up for her against the angry wife of the teacher with whom Susanna had had an affair?

Looking almost paralysed with horror in the local ice cream parlour, Susanna definitely needed some support at that moment and the girls of Claymore Hospital knew exactly how to show it. Woof.

2) Watching Susanna and Lisa attempt to comfort the distraught Polly who had been placed in solitary confinement was one of the most tender moments in the whole movie thus far.

A hesitant Susanna cautiously plucked at her guitar strings before launching into 'Downtown' accompanied by an enthusiastic Lisa and were both overjoyed as they heard Polly’s wails soften with each note.

3) If you thought you knew friendship and love after seeing Lisa and Susanna’s attempts to placate Polly, you hadn’t seen anything yet.

Watching Susanna, on her final day in the hospital, tenderly paint Lisa’s fingernails as she lay strapped to a hospital bed was by far the most moving scene of the whole film.

The Bad

1) Watching Susanna attempt to belittle Nurse Valerie while Valerie supervised the patient’s bathing time was difficult to swallow. Knowing that Valerie was rooting for the young woman meant we felt the harsh remarks were totally unfair.

Although maybe we shouldn’t have worried, because Valerie dismissed Susanna’s remarks with little more than a bemused smile and a quick dose of reality. Valerie’s a champ.

2) When the girls learn the content of Susanna’s diaries which reveal her innermost thoughts on her fellow patients, you can almost feel their confusion and hurt.

Susanna is horrified to discover Lisa betraying her so openly, while Georgina's and Polly's distress is etched across their anguished faces.

And the very, very sad….

It’s very difficult to hear Skeeter Davis’s rendition of ‘The End of the World’ without thinking of Susanna discovering poor Daisy upstairs in the home she was so proud of, isn’t it?

The scene was tense with horror as we seemed to climb every step of the stairs with Susanna and watched the needle of the record player lift up and down, before Susanna dropped to the floor at the enormity of what she found.

Quick, don't focus on this last point too much, go back and read the good section again!

Singer Meghan Trainor recently suggested that having an eating disorder necessitated strength, a comment which 22-year-old actress and singer Demi Lovato has hotly denied.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the All About That Bass singer said: “I wasn’t strong enough to have an eating disorder. I tried to go anorexic for a good three hours. And I quit.”

Now, Demi Lovato has taken to Twitter to give her opinion on the matter. Despite not referring to Meghan at any point in her tweets, there’s little doubt that she disagrees with the 20-year-old’s recent remarks.

Demi, who has made no secret of her own personal struggles, said: “Having an eating disorder doesn’t show strength. There's a wide misconception that anorexia and/or bulimia is a choice and you often hear people say things like 'why doesn't she just start eating?' Or even 'just stop throwing up.'”

The star who worked as a mentor to teens and young adults with mental health challenges went on to say: “Eating disorders do not discriminate. Neither does any other mental illness. These are deadly diseases that are taking lives daily. So please, let's be cautious of the words we use when discussing ED's and other mental illnesses.”

We wonder if Meghan will respond to Demi's tweets.

Winter has arrived with a vengeance, and on a rainy and windy Irish day, there is no place in the world we'd rather be than in our bed!

The colder weather definitely calls for an extra blanket or two, but why not really embrace the festive months with some seasonal touches like fairy lights, plush cushions and faux fur?

Here are a few cozy bedrooms for inspiration – we are just dying for a snooze right now!

1. Hiding out upstairs
This lodge-style attic bedroom is simply stunning – we can imagine spending many an evening tucked away here with a good book and a cuppa!

2. Let the light in
That low winter sun is one of the best perks of the season – especially when the rain finally stops! This compact bedroom makes the most of the available natural light.

3. Lie back and relax
When in doubt, just add some more cushions. The red furnishings really add a festive twist to this bedroom:

4. Get frosty
The festive season is not all deep reds and greens you know – why not go all Ice Queen with some winter whites? The artwork is just perfect for the winter months, too:

5. Outside in
Some greenery and a few hanging stars bring the magic of a wintery forest scene into this bedroom. Beautiful!

6. Warm things up
Plush furnishings, deep reds and a few pretty lights are great starting points for winter bedroom décor. We reckon we'd be very happy here!

It has been revealed that Bono and four of his friends were ‘extremely lucky’ to avoid crashing yesterday after one of the doors fell off the plane they were travelling in, mid flight.

The private jet, which was carrying the U2 frontman, was making its way from Dublin to Berlin when the freak accident occurred.  Sources have said: “They were at an altitude where anything could have happened and they are all feeling very lucky to be alive.”

Commenting on the shocking accident, Germout Freitag, a German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation official said: “There can be many reasons for this incident. Either something broke on the door or the door wasn't closed properly. Those are the usual problems that occur."

Thankfully no one was injured, but the same can’t be said for the passengers’ luggage which fell out during the incident and it’s unknown whether it landed over water or land, but latest reports have suggested that a piece of the airplane had landed near the German capital.

Bono’s bandmates, Larry, Adam and The Edge were not on board this flight as Bono had made the decision to fly ahead of them in order to attend a diplomatic event.

What a terrifying thing to happen!

So it's not a good idea to ask Jennifer Lawrence to sing in front of people as David Letterman learned this week.

Turns out the twenty-four-year Oscar-winner isn’t as perfect as we all thought. Yes she can act, yes she can makes us laugh and yes, she can make falling up the stairs at the Academy Awards ceremony look pretty endearing, but she can’t sing.

The stunning blonde. who was quizzed by David Letterman last night about her performance in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I, has revealed she has a fear of singing in public and now we know why.

Remembering a school performance she gave when she was eight, Chris Martin’s ex took a deep breath and belted out a few lines of Holly Jolly Christmas. Ouch.

Not satisfied with that, the ever enthusiastic David Letterman tried to get J-Law to give a little sneak performance of the song The Hanging Tree which she performed in the film, but the actress is having none of it and threatens to walk off set.

Jennifer revealed that she had asked the film’s producers if Lorde could sing the track and she would lip-sync over it, but was met with refusal and ended up crying on set the day she had to sing.

Check out Jennifer's performance here. We have to admit it, we like her even more now!

Ah rain. We see so much of it here in Ireland you would think we'd be used to it. But no, when we look outside and know that we soon will be out there our hearts sink.

For the rainy weekend that's in it – here are the reasons we, as Irish women, HATE HATE HATE rain!

1. Not to sound vain, but the wet, scraggy look just does NOT do it for us and it won’t look right for the whole day now. Grr.

2. Wet leaves+boots+rain = a wet sore arse. Not cool.

3. Taking a good twenty minutes to perfect your make-up for that big meeting only to see it float away in the wind the minute you step outside the front door

4. Public transport is always 100% more miserable in the rain. Fact. Sweaty, condensed windows and steam rising off everyone – Taxi!

5. Making the mistake of putting on lipgloss only to be removing your hair from it every twenty-thirty seconds. Oh the humanity.

We were hoping the former Newlyweds were still good friends – but according to Nick Lachey, he and Jessica are “nothing”. Eek.

The singer appeared on SiriusXM’s radio show with Jenny McCarthy and said that he and Jessica have absolutely no contact anymore (aww!): “I wouldn’t say it’s friends, but I wouldn’t say it’s enemies. There’s just no contact. We’ve both moved on with our lives and I think we’re just happy with the way it went. It’s not animosity, it’s not friendship, it’s just kind of nothing.”

Nick, who is now married to Vanessa Minnillo with whom he has one child, Camden, and a little girl on the way.

He also said that it was a good thing he and Jessica did not start a family: “I think in our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened is that we didn’t have kids. All things being equal, it was the best thing probably for the both of us that we went on with our lives and she’s obviously happily married with two. I’m happily married about to have two so it all worked out the way it was supposed to work out.”

Nick and Jessica married back in 2002 and starred in MTV’s Newlyweds before divorcing in 2006.

Here's one of our favourite moments from Newlyweds – it never gets old.
