If there’s one group of people who’ve suffered the most at the hands of Twitter, it’s celebrities.

From memes of their faces rehashed to suit any occasion to GIFs preserving the moments they’d rather forget, it really must be tough at the top.

But as Hugh Grant, Kate Hudson, Melissa McCarthy, Ryan Gosling and others prove in this latest clip, sometimes it’s best to take the Internet with a pinch of salt.

Here’s the tenth episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Mean Tweets:

Back in April fans of Hollywood power couple Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling celebrated as the pair welcomed their second baby girl into the world.  But while the occasion was obviously a happy one, it was also touched with sadness as baby Amada was born the same week Eva buried her brother.

In a new interview with Latina magazine, the Training Day actress has described what it was like to lose her older brother Juan Carlos Mendez to throat cancer so shortly before the arrival of her daughter and explained how the experience brought her family closer together.

Eva told the mag: “Losing my brother brought our family closer, and we were already close to begin with…So to just see everybody be there for one another and show up, I feel so lucky to have them.  And then they were there for me when Amada was born.”

“We had a funeral service for him and that same week I had the baby.  So it was really, really intense and obviously beyond heartbreaking, but also kind of beautiful.”

During the interview, the actress also discussed how her brother’s passing influenced the choice of name she and Nice Guys star Ryan gave their newborn.

She said: “In true Latin fashion, we reuse names all the time.”

“My grandmother's name is Amada, and Esmeralda Amada is the name of our oldest.  We had a few names picked out for our new baby, and when she was born, we didn't feel like those names were her.”

“So we went with Amada because it was something we kept going back to.  And it was an emotional time with the passing of my brother.”

“We thought how beautiful to go with what made us emotional and with what felt like her.  When we looked at her, we thought, ‘Aww, Amadita.’”

We think it's heartwarming to hear how even through her grief Eva was able to find a positive way to remember her late brother in the baby naming process.

If you were a fan of Crazy Stupid Love, then you're going to be very happy because Ryan Gosling and Emma Stona are teaming up again.

The new trailer for their upcoming movie La La Land has just landed and it's totally swoon-worthy.

It tells the tale of an aspiring actress, Mia (Emma Stone) and a jazz musician (Ryan Gosling) and how they attempt to become famous in Los Angeles.

In the director, Damien Chazelle's own words: "It's a contemporary love story… about two dreamers in Los Angeles who are trying to make it. It's about how you kind of balance life and art and your dream life with reality."

And if you weren't already in love with the sound of the movie, then fall in love with the sound of Ryan Gosling's voice as he serenades Emma in the trailer:

YES. That is actually Ryan Gosling singing.

To most of us, today is simply the start of a new month – Howiya July, looking good!

However, on this fine Friday, Canadians across the globe celebrate the founding of their lovely country with Canada Day.

Back in 1867, an act was passed that combined three former British colonies into one nation, and so Canada was born.

canada

This beautiful country, that shares a border with our American friends, has a lot to be proud of. It has become renowned for it's majestic scenery and the wonderful individuals that populate it.

With a population of just over 36 million people, it's no wonder that some of our favourite celebs hail from this snowy land.

canada

And we are here to highlight our favourite Canadians of all time, and thank them for the impact they have had in today's world.

Drake

Our favourite R&B master, Aubrey Graham, is a Toronto native. Drake frequently refers to 'the six' in his music, which is a slang word for Toronto.

As a platinum award-winning artist, we have no doubt that Canada is proud of this 28-year-old super star.

Ryan Gosling

Ryan, who made us fall in love with him in The Notebook, was born and raised in the Ontario region of Canada.

No real explanation needed here, THANK YOU Canada, thank you for giving us Ryan Gosling.

Kim Catrall

One of our favourite New Yorkers, Kim was actually raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she moved at just three-months-old.

The actress, who is widely loved for her sassy portrayal of Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, lives in New York full time, but also still owns property in her homeland.

Matthew Perry

Ah, Chandler Bing, the nineties would not have been the same without you!

Matthew Perry grew up in Ottawa, Ontario with his mother Suzanne, who was press secretary to the Canadian Prime Minister in the 1980s.

Could he BE any more Canadian?

Justin Bieber

What would a list of awesome Canadians be without the Biebs? Useless, that's what!

The Sorry singer hails from Ontario, and happens to be close friends with fellow Canadian, Drake.

Justin has French-Canadian roots, and as a result is fluent in the French language. OUI OUI!

Justin Bieber

We thank you Canada, have a fantastic day of celebrations!

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Ryan Gosling any more, the Nice Guys actor has gone and said what we’ve all been thinking for years – that a woman should finally be welcomed into the White House.

Speaking to ES magazine, the 35-year-old father of two revealed that he’s “always liked women more” and believes that on a good day he’s about 49% female!

The former child star explained how being raised by his mother and older sister allowed him to witness first-hand the daily struggles women endure.

He said: “I grew up with women so I’ve always been aware of it.  When my mother and I walked to the grocery store, men would circle the block in cars.  It was very scary, especially as a young boy. Very predatory; a hunt.”

The Hollywood hottie also explained how the two daughters he shares with actress Eva Mendes have also contributed to his beliefs on the fairer sex.

He said: “I think women are better than men. They are stronger. More evolved. You can tell especially when you have daughters and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately.”

And when asked if he thinks America should have a female president in the future, Ryan replied: “I think it needs a woman’s touch.”

Yes, Ryan. We're totally with you.

So you're sitting down to dinner, you turn around, and Ryan Gosling's at the table behind you.

That's exactly what happened to Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner over the weekend – except we should mention at this point that she was at the SAG Awards, so it's not quite as unusual as spotting Mr. Gosling in your local Supermac's.

But Sophie is a bit of a Gosling fangirl and so she couldn't let this prime opportunity for a selfie go without acting on it.

How to get the photo you NEED without looking like a total crazed lunatic in front of Ryan Gosling? Take the snap without him noticing, obviously:

"Sorry boys. I'm off the market," Sophie wrote next to the ecstatic shot of her posing in front of an oblivious Ryan.

We love it.

Of course, Sophie's probably been the subject of a fair few fangirl/fanboy moments herself, considering she stars on one of the most popular TV shows of the last decade.

The actress was at the SAGs with her Game Of Thrones crew, and the show picked up an award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.

A good hustle all round.

Saoirse Ronan might be Hollywood's darling right now after her stellar performance in Brooklyn, but her name is clearly still causing everyone a few issues.

While primary school classes in Ireland are littered with Muireanns, Aoifes, Siobháns and Saoirses, the same is most definitely not true on the other side of the Atlantic, where fans are finding poor Ms. Ronan's name a bit tough to get their heads around.

But not to worry, as Ellen DeGeneres has stepped in to help out – just in time for awards season.

The best way to avoid people pronouncing your name wrong at an awards ceremony? Wear a massive sign over your red carpet gown, of course.

Saoirse appeared on Ellen's show in LA yesterday ahead of this Sunday's Golden Globes, and as a thank-you for coming on she was presented with a nifty sandwich board emblazoned with the words "Hello, My Name Is Sur-Sha."

Complete with pockets for Moet champagne and other red carpet snacks, obvz.

While on the show, it seems Saoirse also gave a shout-out to her hometown – and her favourite nail salon in Dublin's fair city, Tropical Popical.

The actress was getting her nails done at the South William St salon when she heard about her nomination, and staff there got a very exciting call yesterday from LA ahead of the Ellen interview's broadcast:

Ellen's not the first celebrity to take Saoirse and her hard-to-master name under their wing, however. Back in November Ryan Gosling included a lesson on how to pronounce the Irish moniker when presenting Saoirse with the New Hollywood Award for Brooklyn.

"Since we're all here, I thought we could just go over it," he said. "It's not 'Say-or-see' or 'Seer-say' or 'Sorcery'… It's 'Ser-sha', like inertia."

Nice. Now here's hoping there are no mistakes when Saoirse inevitably picks up the Best Actress gong on Sunday.

We all have our Christmas traditions.

Whether it's as harmless as carving up the turkey or as embarrassing as whipping out your choreography to 'All I want for Christmas', it is all part of the festive fun.

Well except for Ryan Gosling who doesn't find his wife's festive traditions particularly fun.

Ryan has revealed in an interview with Hello! Magazine that Eva Mendes has rather questionable taste in Christmas music.

"She's obsessed with the Hanson Christmas album! No disrespect to Hanson, they're very talented kids, but I think I've heard that record enough. I'm sure it will be on a loop this Christmas as well."

So Eva loves a bit of the 'mmm-boppers' then does she? Very interesting…

Well no matter how woeful Ryan finds the Christmas music, he is still really excited for this Christmas because of the other little lady in his life, the couple's daughter, Esmerelda.

"This will be our first Christmas where [she is] sort of taking it all in, so that's exciting."

Nawh!

As for Ryan, he has never been happier to be a family man.

"There's nothing else I'm looking for. I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with."

Eva Mendes, we are eternally jealous of you.

Today Ryan Gosling turns 35 and to celebrate the actor's birthday we have five hot and adorable pictures of the star.

While we love how hunky Ryan is, we also love that he's not afraid to change up his look (he has been bald, platinum-haired and creepily mustached) for film roles.

From The Notebook to Crazy Stupid Love, Ryan never fails to nail the hotness factor:

1. Ryan with a dog (because it doesn't get much cuter than that):

2. Ryan in Crazy Stupid Love (because it doesn't get much hotter than that):

3. Ryan as a kid:

4. Ryan being adorable with his Blue Valentine daughter (which probably resembles what he's like with his real-life daughter, Esmeralda):

5. And of course, the epic MTV kiss with Amy McAdams:

Ryan Gosling has our back.

Having an Irish name is no easy feat if you live outside of the Emerald Isle, as anyone who has ever applied for a job or tried to order Starbucks overseas can attest to.

Luckily for any Saoirses out there, the world has finally been schooled in how to pronounce the name correctly – thanks to a Hollywood A-lister, no less.

Saoirse Ronan was the recipient of this year's New Hollywood Award for her role in Brooklyn, and in his pre-presentation speech, Ryan Gosling was sure to make one thing very clear.

"Since we're all here, I thought we could just go over it," he said

"It's not 'Say-or-see' or 'Seer-say' or 'Sorcery… It's 'Ser-sha', like inertia."

As for the surname, that was another hurdle altogether, but with Saoirse's help, the actor finally got it right.

Speaking to Image magazine recently, Saoirse said her Irishness was a huge part of her identity, even in Hollywood.

"It’s really important, it always has been, it’s a big part of who I am," she said.

"And I actually think it’ a great way to stay grounded, to remember where you’ve come from and the type of people that you come from."

As for what she misses the most about her homeland when she's away, the actress says it's "definitely Barry's Tea."

A girl after our own heart.

Ah celebrities. They really are just like us.

Which means that just like an awful lot of us, they want to go to Disneyland too. We’re not talking about the ‘rent out the whole park for ourselves for a day’ kind of a thing either.

Standing in a line for Magic Mountain and finding yourself up close and personal with Ryan Gosling is definitely a highlight. If, unfortunately, you didn’t have the luck to be there that particular day, then you don't need to worry.

The DisneylandCeleb Instagram account is here to allow you to live vicariously through the lucky souls who did happen to be in the right queue at the right time.

Do we hear the sound of wedding bells?

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been together since September 2011.

The famous couple have a baby daughter, Esmerelda – but are they also secretly engaged?

The 41-year-old actress has been spotted wearing a gorgeous emerald bauble ring for some time now, leading to speculation that her longtime partner may have popped the question.

The American actress appears to be sporting the ring in an Instagram picture over 12 week ago and since then it has constantly been on the beauty's finger – including red carpet events and most recently at an Estée Lauder beauty event.

But a source told E! News that the ring was just a present from Ryan to mark the birth of their daughter.

Esmeralda… emerald… get it?

We love this Hollywood couple so we only hope a real wedding ring will be on the cards very soon!
