i am cait

After two very intense seasons, I Am Cait has been cancelled.

The docu-series followed Caitlyn Jenner in her initial transition and then continued on as she adapted to life as a transgender woman.

A spokesperson for E! said in a statement: "We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docuseries that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs.

"Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears in Keeping Up With The Kardashains."

Caitlyn also tweeted about the cancellation:

She wrote: "After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it's time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for."

There was major controversy at the end of last year when she won her Glamour Award, with people fighting to say she didn't deserve it.

And since then, Caitlyn has been nominated for numerous other awards including the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and the Teen Choice Award for Social Media Queen.

But it doesn't stop there as Cait as been nominated for yet another award today; The GLAAD Media Award.

Her show I Am Cait is in the running along with Adam Lambert's new album and Carol, the American LGBT media advocacy organisation announced today.

GLAAD announced a total of 101 nominations English and Spanish nominations and Caitlyn was recognised for her reality show and the Diane Sawyer interview she did last year.

The award ceremony will be held in LA on April 2, but we're pretty confident she'll come out on top.

Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner was left terribly shaken after she was targeted outside a charity event this week.

The 66-year old was speaking at a lunch which was hosted by an LGBT charity in Chicago when she was confronted by a group of angry protestors. Apparently they were not impressed that a “clueless rich white woman” was representing their community.

As she was leaving the venue, the group began firing abuse at the former Olympian. One individual apparently told her: “You are an insult to trans people, you are an insult to women.”

The group behind the protest, who have a Facebook group named I Ain’t Cait, explained the reasons behind the protest in a post. They wrote that she doesn’t understand the challenges which other trans women face because of her background.

They also have taken issue with Caitlyn’s previous comments on social housing:

“Caitlyn Jenner… lives in a mansion and has a net worth of millions of dollars, while the average trans person has a 41 percent chance of experiencing homelessness and a nearly 50 percent chance of living off less than $10k per year."

In the video, filmed by Showbiz Shelly, another protestor is heard stating: “You have no right to represent us!” Another added:

“I won't support her as an act of bravery for transitioning in the public's eye, while millions are homeless for identifying, dead, or dying because they have to do damn near anything just to find a place to sleep at night.”

Despite Caitlyn being named as one of Glamour’s Women of the Year, it would seem that she is still facing serious backlash. In a BuzzFeed interview she described the most difficult part of being a woman as “figuring out what to wear”, and people we not happy.

One protestor told the Chicago Tribune she cannot speak on the "real" struggles trans women face, and focusing on fashion or beauty regimes "defaces the real truth behind transitioning.”

Every Halloween we see a new costume crop up associated with current pop culture events – and this year is certainly no different.

Fans of Caitlyn Jenner were enraged when they saw costumes of the reality stars Vanity Fair cover go up online, mimicing the day she announced to the world that she is a trans woman.

Many LGBT advocates and supporters of Jenner were not happy, calling the costumes transphobic and insulting.

But apparently, it doesn't bother Caitlyn.

Speaking on the TODAY show, the 65-year-old admitted she doesn't have a problem with it, much to everyone's surprise.

“I’m in on the joke. I don’t think it’s offensive at all,” Ms Jenner told Matt Lauer.

“I know the community does and they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great.”

Say what now?! In fact, the Olympic star seemed to have a much greater concern for the quality of the piece rather than anything else.

“I mean, that was a serious bustier on the cover of Vanity Fair,” she laughed.

“At least get some good clothes. You’ve got to enjoy life. Life’s too short. I can’t get too upset about that type of stuff.”

The photograph was taken just two years after the duo married – and more than 20 years before they eventually split. Earlier this year, of course, the former Bruce transitioned from male to female and became Caitlyn.

And now, Caitlyn herself has shared her own family-focused pic on social media.

Using her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, she posted an image of Kendall, the eldest of two children that she had with Kris.

In it, the 19-year-old's arms are wrapped around her dad, with Ms Jenner including the simple caption: "Love my little girl."

She added that it was "so great to spend time," with Kendall.

In the US on Sunday, E! aired its latest episode of I Am Cait, which featured a tense, first-time meeting between Kris and Caitlyn.

"You're sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life," the 59-year-old momager told her former husband while blinking back tears.

"But you're not so sensitive and amazing to the family that you left behind."

It is has been a topic surrounded by an awful lot of debate since that Vanity Fair cover was released.

Former Olympian, now reality TV star and spokesperson for LGBT rights Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that she still uses her former name, Bruce from time to time.

In a clip from the gold-medal winner’s new docuseries I Am Cait, Caitlyn decides to use her old name on an application for her golf course membership.

Friend of Cait, and former bestie and assistant of Cait’s ex Kris Jenner, Ronda Kamihira is confused at the choice and says she doesn’t understand her choice.

“Are you going to wear your hoodie and pretend?" She asks her pal in the episode.

Caitlyn explains that her golf course of choice in under construction, and as she is registered as Bruce there. She thinks it would make the process faster by applying to a new course with the same name.

Ronda says that it everyone at the golf club will know Caitlyn is Caitlyn and wants to know why she can’t use her new name.

She says the name change on the application will be “confusing”.

"I don't have to worry about locker rooms and all that crap right now, which I don't want to worry about,” is Cait’s response.

When her friends presses her further on whether she will be wearing skirts ofr shorts at the club, Caitlyn is quick to try and change the topic completely.

She adds that she will “deal with all those issues down the way.”

The hugely anticipated docu-series I Am Cait had its American premiere earlier this week on E!, but the show hasn't received as many positive reactions as were expected.

It seems like we have been waiting a LONG time for this series to air; certainly, it has been hugely publicised since Caitlyn underwent gender transitioning earlier this year.

Even with all the hype the show received, viewing figures were not as high as the show producers had expected – and some of the reviews have so far been far from positive.

The first episode brought in around 2.7million viewers, which is just above what Keeping Up With The Kardashians usually brings in, but is still well under what was expected.

These numbers are compared to a huge 17million who tuned in to watch Caitlyn's interview with Diane Sawyer and 8million who watched her ESPY's acceptance speech.

Furthermore, many viewers felt it was staged and scripted rather than being true 'reality' TV.

The New York Times reported that "there’s no reason to doubt Ms Jenner’s sincerity when she cites statistics about suicide among transgender teenagers or consoles a grieving parent, but you also can’t help noticing how she seems to be reading from a script.”

Vulture.com was also dismissive, saying "each scene felt as choreographed as a ballet, as deftly applied as the hair extensions we see Kylie and Cait giggle over: Fake, but fake for our behalf."

The programme will air on August 2 in Ireland.

The docu-series I Am Cait which follows Caitlyn Jenner on her journey as a transgender is set to air in the US on July 26.

Following the release of a teaser trailer a few weeks ago, another trailer has today been unveiled on E!. It can also be seen on the I Am Cait twitter account

The clip begins with the question: “why did I decide to do a series?” It then goes on to show shots of Caitlyn wearing gorgeous gowns… and WOW does she look incredible.

"We're going to talk about everything," she promises. "We're going to do a lot of fun things for the first time. We're going to go shopping for the first time. Maybe even some boy stuff, like ride a motorcycle – because girls do that too!"

In the emotional footage, the 65-year-old former Olympian says “people don’t understand, looking into the mirror and nothing seems right” and she then goes on to explain how this is her time and she hopes her journey will help others too.

The only family member we could spot in this video was daughter, Kylie, 17: there is a clip of the pair hugging and it looks like she is even trying out some of Kylie’s trademark teal hair extensions.

According to Eonline.com, the series shows Caitlyn keeping up several Jenner-Kardashian family traditions, including a day spent with her kids.

“It’s going to be quite a journey, we are going to do some good,” she concludes.

We all remember when Caitlyn Jenner was involved in the fatal car crash that took the life of one victim last February.

While the 65-year-old has been working alongside authorities and helping in every way possible, it seems that the car crash investigation is a long way from over.

Caitlyn’s neighbour, Kim Howe, sadly passed away in the accident. It has been reported that authorities have cleared Caitlyn of texting while driving but for some reason, her case is reportedly being sent to the District Attorney’s office.

According to HollywoodLife.com, cases that are usually sent to the DA’s office include kidnappings and murders. So, we have to wonder, why is the former Olympian’s possible misdemeanour being treated as if it was a felony?

Although four months have passed since the incident, it is still unclear as to whether Caitlyn will be charged with anything.

The father of Kendall and Kylie Jenner released a statement at the time of the crash. She said, “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident.”

“It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

It has also been reported that the stepchildren of the deceased are suing Ms Jenner and want to prove that she owes them something for their mother tragically passing.

Although, as Caitlyn has been cleared of speeding, texting, and driving under the influence, it is unlikely that their lawsuit will be successful.

Certainly, the whole world has been hooked to the Caitlyn Jenner transition.

However, as most of the attention has focused on her physical transformation as well as her relationship with her famous kids, we haven’t really heard about the actual surgery that was performed on Ms Jenner – and her immediate emotional reaction following the transition.

Now, the surgeons who performed Caitlyn’s feminising surgery have spoken about the process that the Olympian underwent and her brief panic attack when the surgery was through.

Speaking to E! News, Dr Gary Alter who carried out Ms Jenner’s breast augmentation, explained that “it’s difficult to suddenly get the realisation, I guess, that you’re getting fulfilment of what you’ve always wanted to have done”.

“You know, long surgery, a lot of changes – so there was a little bit of a panic attack. But it could happen to anybody. It can happen to the housewife that gets a facelift, it can happen to a young girl who gets a breast implant.”

The surgeon who led the transition, Dr Harrison Lee, said that the type of surgery Caitlyn underwent usually takes around a year for patients to recover. But judging from the Vanity Fair shoot, Caitlyn powered on through and took only a few months to heal.

The father of Kendall and Kylie opened up in her Vanity Fair interview, where she described being overcome with emotion and the brief panic of wondering if she made the right decision.

“What did I just do?” she thought. “What did I just do to myself?”

With her feminizing surgery complete, it is not known when the father-of-six will undergo genital surgery.

Speaking in the issue, Caitlyn herself explained that “if you have a list of ten reasons to transition, sex would be number ten.”

Her former wife Kris Jenner has yet to speak out about the process, but we will most likely get the inside scoop when the new E! reality show, I Am Cait, debuts on July 26.

The world finally met Caitlyn Jenner for the first time on Monday with a beautiful spread of photos in Vanity Fair.

Now that we've seen what she looks like, Caitlyn is ready to share her full story in a new eight-part documentary series kicking off on E! at the end of July.

The docu-series, titled I Am Cait, will show the reality star beginning her new life as a transgender woman, and telling her own story for the first time. I Am Cait will also give viewers an insight into how the transition has affected the people in her life, including her family and close friends.

A first clip from the series premiered on TODAY this morning, and shows Caitlyn discussing her transition with the cameras, and looking downright stunning in the process.

"So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues," the star says of her decision to go public with her journey.

"Maybe this is my greatest calling in life. Be honest to myself and be honest to my family," she concludes.

While Diane Sawyer's interview with Bruce back in April gave the world an insight into the process that lay ahead, this will be a first in-depth look at Caitlyn's new life as a woman.
