clothes

There are certain things that people say that stop you in your tracks and make you double think about your body – it's size, it's weight, it's shape.

But really, nobody should make you feel bad or uncomfortable about you figure.

It's your body. And you're the only person who can judge and make the rules for it.

So, the next time one of these things happen, let it fly in one ear, and out the other.

Asking the clothing salesperson for a bigger size

If you haven't noticed by now, sizing is a total free-for-all. Some brands cut their clothes super tight while others make their garments extra roomy. Either way, if you look smoking hot in tht dress, who cares what size it is.

Seeing an unflattering photo of yourself

So the camera caught you at a bad angle or the lighting was bad. That lighting isn't going to follow you around for the rest of your days! You're the only one freaking out over the size of your arm, nobody else will notice. Sure even Kimmy has bad angles!

Being told your a particular body type

Comparing your body type to a fruit may be silly, but it gives you a good grasp of what clothes you should wear and the tailoring you need. But don't be offended by it, from apples to pears, every body type is sexy in it's own right.

Walking up a few flights of stairs and getting out of breath

It's hard for everyone to walk up a couple flights of stairs! Adding incline to the intensity and speed will slow even the fittest woman down. Don't let it bother you!

Your bra size

Whether you're big, small or medium-sized, it doesn't really matter because every woman is different. At the end of the day, once your bra does its job and stays comfy, you have nothing to worry about.

We all know the feeling of picking out your favourite dress to wear to a party – only to notice five minutes later that there's a HUGE stain on the front.

You look at the tag and it's dry clean only. Your problem? You have no time to get to the dry cleaners yourself!

Yep, that dreaded gut-punch scenario has happened to the best of us. But it won't anymore!

Irish start-up, Laundrie, has launched Ireland's first dry cleaning on-demand app.

The smart phone service will allow users to get their dresses cleaned and clothing pressed with just a few clicks on the app!

The extremely convenient service will see Laundrie pick up your items at the location specified by the customer. It's also available seven days a week, at the time and date of the customers choosing.

Even better, Laundrie is a fully Irish-owned business. Evan Gray spotted an opportunity in the market as people's lives are becoming increasingly busy.

We can all admit it's often a hindrance from your day-to-day schedule to drop into a dry cleaners; but this way you will save time and money. Score!

The premium dry cleaning service collects and delivers within a 48 hour turn around time. The app also provides free delivery and collection for all orders over €20.

Initially launching in Dublin, Laundrie plans to expand to the rest of Ireland in the coming months.

Speaking about the launch of Laundrie, Evan Gray said: "Following a number of years working in the white-collar industry, I saw a gap in the market for a more convenient way to service the cleaning needs of wearing a suit 5 days a week."

“Laundrie is basically like Hailo for your laundry requirements."

We like the sound of this one! Laundrie is currently available for free on AppStore.

Are you stuck in a style rut? We all have times when we go to our wardrobes each morning and have absolutely NO inspiration whatsoever.

The result? You end up throwing on something you either hate… or feel totally uncomfortable in.

This lowers your self-esteem and can actually have a pretty big impact on your day.

Still, there are a few easy ways to change up your look completely. In fact, you'll be feeling back to yourself in no time!

Change up one piece

If you're not used to change, then this is the option for you. It might seem like it won't alter much but believe us, one different piece can overhaul a whole outfit. If you always wear a black blazer to work, opt for a different style of jacket or different colour. It will have you looking more radiant in no time.

Update each piece

We all have that go-to outfit that we throw on at the weekends. It's comfortable and easy, and all you want for when you have time off. But when you wear something constantly, there's no doubt that you will get bored of it.

To tackle this problem, stick to the same pieces but update it: if you used to wear black skinny jeans, maybe go for tailored leggings or bootcut jeans. If you always wear the same white t-shirt, opt for a vibrant colour instead. You will feel more lively and confident by just changing the versions.

Inspiration

If you haven't a clue where to start, head to the internet for inspiration. From street style to fashion bloggers, you'll find all the info you need to look your best online. If you're on instagram, search #streetstyle and an abundance of pictures will pop up. Problem solved!

Colour change

Yes, we all seek comfort in black clothing. In fact, women all around the world are known for hiding away under their dark garments. But if you really want to change up your style, go for colour.

It is the boldest move to make, but the most successful one. Not only will you appear more confident, you will stand out from the crowd and people will notice the difference. #result

How many of us have been left feeling pretty angry when we take our freshly washed clothes out of the laundry only to discover that they no longer fit.

There’s possibly nothing worse than putting your favourite top in the wash and having it come out looking like something even Barbie would think was a touch snug.

Well luckily for you one internet user has discovered an easy solution. No more shrunken clothes ever again!

Basically, you just have to soak the sad shrunken item in fabric conditioner for around 5 minutes, when you take it out squeeze the excess moisture out before you put it flat on a towel.

Then you roll the towel up nice and snug, before you unravel it to stretch the clothing back out to it's original size.

Magic. You can now be one step closer to becoming an actual domestic goddess.

Kim Kardashian has an extreme grooming schedule; every hair is in place, her makeup is always spot-on, and her skin is never anything less than perfect.

Why then, does she struggle to find clothes to fit her? Whether she opts for something too small or too big, Kim seems to all-too regularly get it oh-so wrong.

Kim at her book launch in New York this week

Indeed, just this week – and despite having wowed a day earlier at the Met Ball in a custom-made Roberto Cavalli gown – the reality TV star showed up at her Selfish book launch in New York in an ill-fitting cream skirt that did her few favours. She paired it with a too-tight white lace turtle-neck top.

Mind you, it’s far from the first time that Mrs West has made a fashion mishap – and that’s despite spending hundreds of thousands annually on her wardrobe.

Here, SHEmazing! details Kim’s worst blunders of recent times…

The thought of clearing out your wardrobe may seem daunting at first, but it doesn't need to be as boring and stressful as you may think. Here are the questions that you should definitely ask yourself when deciding what's in and what's heading for the bin.

1. Does it fit anymore?
Yes those jeans you had when you were 13 did look great at the time, but things have changed, including the size of your hips. Maybe you just aren't made for each other as much as you used to be.

2. Have you worn it in the past 6 months?
If the answer is no then you're probably just attached and can't let go. That kind of relationship is toxic. You're dependent on a love that isn't even really there.

3. Will you even remember it after you've thrown it out?
We are all guilty of this "Awww but I love that top!" then when it's gone you don't even notice. MOVE ON.

4. Would you buy it again?
If you could go back would you say "Yes, you're mine, it's always been you" or head to a different part of the shop?

5. Does it make you happy?
Do you feel you could never be apart and you just look perfect together? or are you staring at the dress for 20 minutes every morning like "Why did I choose you again?"

Today is the Queen of Pop's birthday, and we have so much to thank her for. A lot of them were crimes against fashion – but without them, we wouldn't have the fond memories of the late '90s/early '00s like we do. Thanks Brit!

Here are the biggest fashion mistakes we made that we can thank her for!

1. When she tricked us into thinking all denim everything was cool.

2. When she tried to make 'good girl pimp' a thing.

3. When we NEEDED her red latex catsuit for Christmas. Thankfully, mom vetoed that one fairly quickly.

4. The curse of the low-rise jean that almost cost us our dignity many times in our early teens

6. Tinted. Sunglasses.

7. All of the times she made us think we would make sexy cowgirls.

8. When we thought we needed a crimper more than we needed air.

9. When we begged and begged for Skechers because Brit wore them.

10. When she made us plan our wedding aged 13 and it looked very…velvety.

Rather than stalking Facebook friends or scrolling mindlessly through Twitter on her commute to work, this woman put her time to much better use – she made her own wedding dress.

Reddit user Alkikat spent five months crocheting her very own wedding dress on her bus journey into work. On the sharing site, she writes: “The dress was practically free because I didn't spend much money on it (under $30 for all of the materials including fabric for the lining) and I didn't spend much extra time on it. My commute time couldn't be used for anything else anyway. The dress is also machine washable (I've washed it several times), doesn't wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colours and with the train bustled up in different ways.”

Check out the finished product here – we are actually very impressed. Wonder if it would look that good if we had a go? Hmm…

Victoria Beckham announced the exciting launch of her clothing sale on The Outnet earlier this morning!

Yes, that’s right, for a price (ok, a major price!) you could own a piece of The Spice Girl’s wardrobe. Basically, it’s a dream come true.

The sale began this morning and continues until the 24th, with a total of 10 items from Victoria’s wardrobe up for auction.

We spied this very glam red glitter bomber jacket on the site for 1605.15 (at the time), although, it also has the name “Victoria” etched on the back in blue crystals…We assume this was the old Vicky’s style.

Also up for auction, and much to our delight, is a white minidress by Prada that Victoria wore in the Spiceworld movie – um, we don’t want that, we NEED that.

Victoria announced the launch on her Instagram account by sharing a photo of her very stylish chaps and writing: “My #VBxTheOUTNET sale for @mothers2mothers is live! Chaps anyone??? X vb.”

No, Victoria, no chaps. Please.

The clothing sale by the fashion designer is in aid of charity, mothers2mothers, which aims to “train, employ and empower mothers living with HIV to bring health and hope to other mothers, their families, and communities.”

What a great cause, well done, Victoria!

If you’ve been sporting a pair of shorts or a t-shirt featuring the American flag today to celebrate the 4th of July (why not? A holiday is a holiday, even if it’s not Irish!), then you’ve actually been in breach of the rules set out in “The United States Flag: Federal Law Relating to Display and Associated Questions”. It states:

“The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, RS-7 the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping in front of the platform, and for a decoration in general.”

However, the rule isn’t enforced. Marc Leepson, author of Flag: An American Biography explains:

“It has been part of the U.S. Code … since 1942. But the Flag Code is not enforced, and it’s not enforceable. It’s simply a set of guidelines that carries no penalties for noncompliance; it doesn’t even have enforcement provisions. Think of it as a sort of federally mandated Miss Manners manifesto.”

We wonder how many celebs will be in breach of this code today!

Picking out the perfect bikini is no easy task. Here are some things you should take into consideration when choosing yours:

1. Skin tone
If you have paler skin, remember that colour such as white may not look as striking on you as they would on someone with a tan. Go for a cream or ivory colour to give yourself a lift.

2. Shape
Highlight your best assets. If you have larger breasts, you may want more support and so an underwire bikini top may benefit you more than a flimsy string top. Likewise, if you do not like your bottom half, you can always find a cute bikini with a little skirt to give yourself more beach confidence.

3. Too late
Don’t leave it too late in the season to buy your bikini as all of the good ones may be gone. Get in there early and have your pick from all the lovely new arrivals.

4. Don’t spend a fortune
There is absolutely no need to go crazy and drop lots of money on a bikini. Think about it. We live in Ireland, this will be worn 1-2 weeks a year MAX. There are plenty of stunning bikini choices out there without having to break the bank.

5. Accessorise!
It’s not all just about the bikini y’know! You can jazz up a plain coloured bikini with a cute hat, sunglasses and even some elegant body jewellery.
