The much-loved Aveeno® brand continues to strive to educate people on just how common skin sensitivity is, what causes sensitivity and how its products have been formulated for sensitive skin. Leveraging over 75 years as a wellness pioneer, and with a brand heritage built on this expertise in the sensitive skin state, the Aveeno® body skincare range is now even better. With ranges to suit every body skin type and sensitive skin states, the collection now features new improved moisturiser formulations along with a fresh new look across the entire body collection, with bottles that are recyclable*, including the lotion pumps.

The Aveeno® Skin Relief Lotion, for very dry and tight skin is formulated with a triple oat complex* (Oat Flour which helps to hydrate the skin, Oat Extract which helps to soothe the skin and Oat Oil which helps to prevent moisture loss) and shea butter. The new lotion formula now features 50% more oat extract than before, relieving very dry and itchy skin in just 60 seconds. Clinically proven to intensely hydrate and nourish sensitive skin, the lotion intensely hydrates and helps to heal very dry skin, leaving it feeling soothed and nourished. The fast absorbing, non-greasy formula helps to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier and support the skin’s natural ceramide production. The new improved Aveeno® Daily Moisturising Lotion for normal to dry skin is rich in emollients, helping to strengthen the skin's natural barrier to help protect the skin against external aggressors and water loss.

Sensitive skin can occur when the skin barrier is weakened, irritants and allergens can penetrate more easily into the skin, potentially causing inflammation. The experts at Aveeno® understand that when life goes out of balance, it will often show in our skin and sensitivity. Paula Moriarty, Professional Skincare Consultant at Aveeno® comments: “As our body’s largest and most visible organ, what we are experiencing and how we are feeling can often show first in the appearance and condition of our skin. When it becomes sensitive, it’s because our skin barrier is weakened and compromised. Sensitive skin isn’t a skin type, it’s a natural skin state and we all can experience sensitive skin at any stage. It's important to know your body skin type but also what may be happening from day to day. Beautiful, healthy-looking skin doesn’t happen by chance. Genetics play a part but mostly it is down to daily care, commitment to products that support your skin and protect it from dryness and care for sensitivities.”

Aveeno® has three ranges for different skin types across the dry skin spectrum. The Daily Moisturising range is for normal to dry skin, the Skin Relief range is for very dry and irritable skin and the Dermexa range is for very dry, itchy skin and is also suitable for people who may also be prone to eczema. All are formulated with 100% pure nourishing oat.

“Oats are known for their skincare benefits; they can form a protective film on the skin and help to moisturise dehydrated areas. The oat is known as a prebiotic which can support the growth of microorganisms naturally found in the skin microbiome. When the skin microbiome is balanced, the skin feels healthy, moisturised and comfortable all over.”

For more than 75 years, AVEENO® has conducted clinical research into the dermatological benefits of oats – harvesting only the finest oats and unlocking the skin benefits of selected oat ingredients through science.

The Government has confirmed that, from today, up to 215,000 more people are eligible for free GP appointments.

The extended roll-out of GP visit cards is part of the Government’s ongoing plans to offer further free GP care.

Minister Stephen Donnelly has noted that the GP visit card scheme will be extended to around 430,000 people in total. The remaining half on higher incomes will be invited to apply for their card from November.

From today, those who are eligible are being asked to fill out an online application, which could save them around €70 per GP appointment, as well as out-of-hours urgent GP care.

Minister Donnelly explained that those who are aged up to 69, as well as parents of children aged eight and up, can apply for a means-tested GP visit card on the HSE website.

As part of the application, various kinds of income will be assessed within your personal situation. Factors such as your living situation, any dependent children you may have, your rent or mortgage costs, and potential childcare costs will be taken into account.

For example, in this first phase of the extension, the weekly income threshold for a single person living alone has increased from €304 to €361. It will then increase to €418 in November.

Similarly, for a couple or one-parent family, the threshold has risen from €441 to €524 this month. It will be increased further to €607 in November.

However, as beneficial as this scheme extension will be to thousands, GPs across the country have also warned that free visits will lead to a backlog of appointments and will increase the waiting time to get a consultation with your GP.

To ease these pressures, Minister Donnelly has promised GPs an additional €130m in funding, which includes hiring more staff.

Adam Collard has opened up about a ‘strained’ relationship with one of his parents.

The former Love Island contestant is currently starring in the brand-new series of E4’s Celebs Go Dating.

In last night’s episode of the hit reality dating series, Adam chose to get candid about a particularly difficult relationship that he has within his family.

During the episode, the 27-year-old revealed that he wants to take his fellow co-star and love interest, Lottie Moss, to meet his family. The statement then prompted the Celebs Go Dating experts to quiz Adam on his family background.

When asked whose approval he cares about the most when it comes to partners, Adam replied by saying his step-mum.

"I feel like she's the one that will interrogate a little bit, you know?” he explained.

When asked if his biological mum plays a role in his life, Adam immediately responded: "No, not since I was like 15, 16."

The Love Island bombshell, who appeared on the show in 2018 and again in 2022, went on to detail what happened with his biological mother.

"It was like a situation where we had a bit of a strained relationship, and I was actually really close to her, and probably not so close to my dad,” he recalled.

"And then when they kind of split up, I went full circle, and then eventually there were some words that were said and some things that were put out there,” Adam continued, adding: “Everyone around us said, 'You are the kid, and you have tried, you don't have to try anymore.'"

In his concluding thoughts, the reality star was asked if he would ever let his biological mother back into his life, to which he said no.

"I have a mam, she's the best, she picked up everything,” Adam noted in response.

Celebs Go Dating continues tonight at 9pm on E4.

While speaking to OK!, the 36-year-old revealed, “It was honestly the most perfect day. It surpassed all my expectations and more. I felt so surprisingly present on the day and loved every second. Now I’m just in pure bliss”.

With 100 guests in attendance Amy explained, “Our family and friends are really important to us and we wanted everyone to have the best time. They all made such an effort to come out there for us. Friends left their kids for the first time and spent their money getting there. We wanted it to be really special”.

Sharing an insight into the morning of the wedding, Amy revealed the heartwarming gift her Girls Aloud band member sister Kimberly gave to her.

“I hadn’t thought about the ‘something old, new, borrowed and blue’, but luckily my bridesmaids had. Sally gave me her garter from her wedding day and Kimberley gave me the ring she inherited from my grandma”.

“She wears it every day and it epitomises my grandma. I wore it on my little finger so I had my grandma and grandad with me on the day, which was amazing”.

Toby then opened up about waiting for his wife to walk down the aisle as he held their 20-month-old daughter Bonnie in his arms.

“Everyone was so happy to be there and there was such an amazing energy… I remember that feeling of looking out, with Bonnie in my arms, knowing that everyone was behind us. It was electric”.

The soap star detailed the emotional moment her brother walked her towards the aisle before her dad gave her away.

“My dad isn’t very well and we weren’t sure until the 11th hour if he would be able to come. My brother handed me over to my dad, who walked me down the last bit”.

“We talked about supporting each other’s dreams and being there for each other through thick and thin.”

In her own vows Amy told her husband she ‘wouldn’t want anyone else by her and Bonnie’s side as she revealed she, “didn’t believe in marriage until I met you”.

He continued, “It was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, they love they shared”.

Transport yourself to a realm of boundless imagination with Roald Dahl's Charlie and The Chocolate Factory – The Musical this Christmas season! The tantalizing narrative of young Charlie Bucket, the fortunate recipient of a golden ticket, and the enigmatic confectionery maestro Willy Wonka, is poised to grace the Bord Gais Energy Theatre this December. This resplendent new rendition of the triumphant West End and Broadway musical promises to whisk you away to a world brimming with pure imagination.

Derived from the iconic story, this awe-inspiring stage extravaganza follows in the footsteps of the lauded West End and Broadway productions. It seamlessly melds the indelible tunes from the original 1970s cinematic masterpiece, including 'The Candy Man' and 'Pure Imagination,' with fresh compositions by the multi award-winning songsmiths of Hairspray.

When Charlie secures a golden ticket to the eccentric and wondrous Wonka Chocolate Factory, he embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime odyssey to indulge in the sweets of his wildest dreams. However, beyond the factory gates lies an astonishing world where sugary corridors lead to incredible and delectable wonders, yet not everything is as saccharine as it appears.

A noteworthy aspect of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Musical is its vibrant ensemble, spearheaded by a self-assured portrayal of Willy Wonka by Gareth Snook. In our conversation, Gareth expressed his aspiration to infuse a distinctive twist into the role, and indeed, he succeeds. His rendition imparts an air of menace to the character while infusing levity through his clever delivery of witty lines. Onstage, Snook often adopts a playful physicality that serves as a delightful reminder of the character's mischievousness, notably evident in the song 'Strike That and Reverse It.'

Jessie-Lou Harvie delivers a standout performance as Charlie, embodying the character's innocence and benevolence to perfection. She showcases her commanding and exquisite vocal prowess in the opening number 'Almost Nearly Perfect' and consistently maintains this exceptional quality throughout her performance.

It is also worth mentioning Teddy Hinde's portrayal of the media-obsessed Mike Teavee. Teddy, who is transgender, is a vocal advocate for trans rights and calls for improved representation of trans individuals in the theatre. During our discussion, he encouraged aspiring trans actors to persevere and remain unwavering in their pursuit of their dream roles.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory excels in traditional theatrical elements, from its imaginative and swift set changes to its vibrant and coordinated character costumes. Each family exudes its distinctive energy, ranging from the snobbish entitlement of the Salt family to the exuberant nature of the Beauregarde family. These elements contribute to the comedic richness of Violet's transformation from human to blueberry.

As with any adaptation of Dahl's work, the success hinges on its ability to captivate the audience with fantastical storytelling. In this regard, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory excels. The amalgamation of outstanding performances, captivating set designs, and enchanting visuals creates an atmosphere of sheer joy that will have you reaching for a chocolate bar faster than you can utter 'oompa-loompa-doompety-do.'

The presence of a live orchestra, under the baton of musical director Ellen Campbell, adds a layer of sonic opulence. Fans of the 1971 film will relish the familiarity of classics like 'Pure Imagination' and 'Candy Man,' but they'll also delight in the inclusion of new compositions by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. 'Almost Nearly Perfect' stands out, and 'Doncha Pinch Me Charlie' gets the audience toe-tapping along.

This sensational musical is brimming with fantastical delights that will dazzle your senses. This festive season, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory offers a scrumdiddlyumptious alternative to the traditional pantomime. It promises to uplift your spirits, leaving you on a sugar-high of excitement.

Don't miss this golden opportunity – secure your GOLDEN Ticket now! The show runs from 5th December to 7th January, and tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster. Based on Roald Dahl's novel and the Warner Bros. film, it's a must-see for all ages.

Most people tend to think of linen as a strictly summer-only fabric, and while it’s true some seasonal textiles have their time and place (such as heavy wool in winter), you don’t necessarily have to cast your linen clothes to the back of your wardrobe until things start heating up again.

While linen is known for its temperature-regulating properties in hot weather, in colder climes it can also do a great job of helping to retain heat, thanks to its breathable woven structure. As temperatures drop, the key is to layer it with other pieces in your wardrobe to insulate you against the elements.

Dress in Layers

The best linen items to “winterise” are ones that you can layer with ease, and if you’re in the market for some new linen additions to add to your collection, the gorgeous range at Quince is well worth checking out. The key is to add more typically cold-weather fabrics to help balance out the look and create additional warmth.

It’s also a good idea to consider the colours of other items you’re likely to wear your linen pieces with to make sure you get the most wear out of them. Here’s the lowdown on the pieces to add to your winter wardrobe, and what to add to make them warmer:

Loose-Fit Linen Dress

Once the weather begins to cool down, some close-fitting layering pieces underneath a loose-fit linen dress will help to keep chilliness at bay. Turtlenecks are a chic choice for layering underneath dresses: choose something within the same colour palette to help tie the look together.

Trousers

As with dresses, linen trousers are ideal for wearing with close-fitting pieces underneath: in this case, a pair of cozy leggings. For the top half, think warm, woollen and cropped to offset the light fabric and the length of the trousers:  a sweater in a slightly boxy fit would work perfectly, or if it’s slightly longer, a French-tucked sweater.

Linen Skirts

Think of linen skirts in much the same way that you would consider wearing denim for autumn: add a pair of warm tights or long wool socks for your bottom half, and switch out the top you would normally wear in warmer months for something a little more substantial, such as a chunky knit sweater and a pair of cozy flats.

Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits come in all shapes and sizes, but arguably the most versatile multi-season styles are dungaree-style versions that can be worn with a fine-knit sweater underneath. Cropped styles are also great for showing off your new winter boots. If the cold begins to bite, you can then add a thicker woollen layer on top for extra warmth.

Button-Down Shirt

The button-down is a perennial favourite amongst capsule dressers, and with good reason: this simple, versatile classic can be mixed and matched with almost anything else in your wardrobe. For a louche, relaxed look, layer yours underneath a sweater vest with a pair of wide-leg trousers.

Tops

A slightly loose, structured linen top looks great on its own, but for maximum warmth and style, add a warm base-layer underneath to keep off the chill. The slightly more formal, structured style of  linen tops works best with denim jeans. For winter, try a darker wash than you’d normally wear, and wear with boots.
