Eurovision season is just a few months away, and to celebrate, we now have the names of the six contenders who are hoping to represent Ireland!

The 67th annual Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Liverpool in May of this year, with the United Kingdom hosting on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine.

Before Ireland takes to the famous stage, the public first has to choose its preferred contestant. Donegal singer-songwriter ADGY, whose real name is Andrew Carr, will be hoping to impress both the public and the expert jury with his song Too Good for Your Love. The track was originally written as a piano ballad, but was then transformed into a “high tempo dance track” following a collaboration with producer Boksay.

Midnight Summer Night was written by hopeful Jennifer Connolly when she was just 17-years-old, during the height of the Covid pandemic. Going by the stage name CONNOLLY, the Leitir Meailláin native is hoping to make it to the global stage with her track that “implies that nothing bad lasts forever, delivering a sense of hope.”

Quartet Wild Youth have already had a string of successes, including touring with the likes of Niall Horan, Lewis Capaldi and Westlife. Now, the Dublin boys are hoping to add Eurovision to their career highlights with their song We Are One.

Indie Pop singer-songwriter Leila Jane has had a fantastic start to her music career, as she was chosen by Imelda May to be the recipient of ‘Imelda May Scholarship’ at BIMM Institute Dublin, where she later graduated with first class honours. Now, the Dublin talent is hoping to make it big on the Eurovision stage with her track Wild. 

K Muni & ND (Kofi Appiah and Nevlonne Dampare) hail from Longford and are confident that they can make Ireland shine on the world stage. The duo are entering the hotly-contested competition with their song Down in the Rain, which is based on a difficult point in their careers when they were struggling to receive recognition.

Lastly, hopefuls Public Image Limited hope to top off their near 45 years in the music industry with a Eurovision experience. The band, which is fronted by former Sex Pistols star John Lydon, are determined to win the judges and public over with their track Hawaii, which was written in honour of Nora, John’s wife for almost 50 years. 

Only time will tell who will be chosen to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, with The Late Late Show’s Eurosong special expected to be held on February 3. We can’t wait!

Congratulations are in order for Claire Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy as they are expecting their third baby together. 

A representative for the Homeland actress and Hannibal star confirmed the exciting news to People.

Claire, known for her role as Carrie in Homeland, and Hugh, who starred in Downton Abbey: A New Era, are already proud parents to two boys- 10-year-old Cyrus Michael Christopher and four-year-old Rowan.

The couple, who keep their family life out of the public eye, are yet to confirm whether they are expecting a baby boy or baby girl this time around. 

When previously speaking about motherhood and having her eldest son, Cyrus, on set with her, the 43-year-old told People, “I was pregnant with him filming. Third season, he was five months. I have so many photos of him in various stages of development in Carrie Mathison’s chair”.

When Claire was expecting her second son, she was not filming for Homeland and explained that she enjoyed the time away from set.

“It feels like a huge luxury. When I was pregnant with my first son, I worked until I was in my eighth month, so this feels like a huge gift, to have a chance to kick my feet up a little bit.”

Danes and Dancy first met on the set of Evening in 2006 and were pals before they started dating. After being in a relationship for over a year, they confirmed they were engaged. 

The happy couple went on to tie the knot in September 2009 in a private ceremony in France.

Jessie J is preparing to become a mum!

The Price Tag singer revealed on Friday evening that she is pregnant with her first child. Since the sharing of her wonderful news, the 34-year-old has been posting several updates on social media, including shots of her growing baby bump.

Taking to her Instagram stories earlier this morning, the Grammy winner uploaded a heartwarming snap of herself beaming into a mirror, with her figure-hugging black dress beautifully showing off her bump.

“So happy, so grateful, so excited”, Jessie gushed to her 12.3M followers.

On Friday evening, fans were delighted to find out that Jessie is expecting her first child. It is believed that she is still dating professional basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, whom she entered a relationship with around April of last year.

“I am so happy and terrified to finally share this…”, Jessie penned in her caption, alongside a video montage of some of the biggest moments from her pregnancy so far, including her positive pregnancy test and her first baby scan.

“Please be gentle with me,” she added. “Honestly, ya girl just wants to ugly cry in public in a catsuit eating a chocolate covered pickle with no questions asked”.

Over the weekend, Jessie also called out a few comments that she had received following the announcement of her pregnancy. “Pregnancy is the most relatable but UNIQUE journey. We all feel it and experience and deal with it OUR own way,” the Bang Bang hitmaker explained.

“I can only speak on the first trimester fully and I believe that however s*** or amazing or awful or scary or joyful it is,” Jessie added. “Gratitude is always there as a given.”

Jessie has always been incredibly open about her desire to become a mother, especially following her tragic miscarriage experience in 2021. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short,” she wrote, following the news of her baby loss. “To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.”

Kaley Cuoco has been celebrating her first child in style!

The former star of The Big Bang Theory threw a very lavish baby shower over the weekend, alongside her boyfriend Tommy Pelphrey and a bunch of her nearest and dearest. The couple are currently expecting a baby girl.

In honour of their incoming little one, Kaley and Tommy took over a ranch for the evening and nicknamed it ‘Big Baby City Ranch’. As well as a huge concert stage, an extravagant cake, and balloons that spelled out ‘Baby Pelphrey’, the pair also decided to hire out 400 drones for the evening and put on a spectacular light display. 

Across the Californian sky, numerous designs and displays were put together, including a love heart, a sketch of Kaley and Tommy walking their future daughter, and the words ‘Baby Girl Pelphrey 2023’. 

“When you have a drone show at your baby shower and it’s the coolest most beautiful thing on earth,” Kaley marvelled before teasing, “no big deal”.

The mother-to-be also looked gorgeous at the event, wearing an adorable pink floral mini dress that perfectly showcased her growing bump.

“Last night we got to celebrate our future unicorn surrounded by incredible friends, family & animals in the most magical environment…”, Kaley gushed in the caption of her Instagram post. 

“thank you to the very special group of people who made it a night we will all remember for the rest of our lives”, The Flight Attendant actress added.

Kaley and Tommy first revealed their pregnancy in October of last year, after going public with their relationship in May. The pair shared the exciting news with several images showcasing their pregnancy milestones, including finding out that they would be having a baby girl.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s oldest child, North West, has surprised fans by dressing up as her dad and miming to a remix of one of his songs with her mum. 

In her latest TikTok video, the nine-year-old has transformed herself into her dad using make-up to draw on a fake beard, thicker eyebrows, wrinkles and a hairline. 

The oldest of the Kardashian-West brood also contoured her nose and jawline to look more like her dad.

North is dressed in a black hoodie and has her long hair hidden under a beanie. 

North’s mum, Kim, joins her in the video which was posted to their joint TikTok account and has 12.2M followers. The 42-year-old is donning a completely black outfit and fashionable sunglasses to match, with her hair tied back in a sleek bun.

The mum and daughter duo are singing along to Kanye’s hit song from 2013, Bound 2. In the infamous music video, Kanye is riding a motorcycle, while Kim sits on his lap. 

Written in the corner of the video's screen, which now has over 23.3M views, are the words, ‘Bound Baby’.

The comments on the TikTok video are turned off but that didn't stop fans from sharing their opinions of the video to Twitter. 

One person joked, “Why she look exactly like Ye tho!?”, while another said, “Spitting image of him”.

A third Twitter user penned, “She's so funny”. A fourth added, “ICONIC”.

Kanye has previously shared on Instagram that he doesn’t want his children on social media. In a now deleted post, the 45-year-old penned, “SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL?”.

Fans of The Tommy Tiernan Show will be delighted to hear their weekend TV watching is about to get a whole lot more entertaining as the show will be returning to our screens this Saturday.

RTÉ announced the wonderful news that the funny chat show will be airing on Saturday, January 7 on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 9.40pm.

Comedian Tommy Tiernan will bring back his unique chat-show that’s full of surprises for him, and his viewers! Mastering the art of improvisation, Tommy doesn’t prepare for the interviews ahead of time, but runs on pure adrenaline and chats instead. 

This allows for a show jam-packed with adventure-filled conversations and surprises, with people from all walks of life, some well-known personalities and others less well-known. 

With Tommy’s inquisitive nature, every conversation has the potential for great honesty and insight, humour and sometimes freewheeling wildness.  

There will be a slight twist for this series as there is now an audience in the studio to listen to the interesting conversations live.

The family of Ashling Murphy have decided to mark Nollaig na mBan by launching a memorial fund in her name.

23-year-old Ashling lost her life when she was murdered while out for a run along the Grand Canal in Tullamore almost one year ago, on the afternoon of January 12, 2022. 

Ashling, who had only recently become a teacher at a local primary school, was an avid musician and was extremely talented in the world of Irish traditional music. She was also a keen sportswoman, and had taken a particular interest in camogie.

In honour of her memory and to mark the upcoming anniversary of her tragic death, Ashling’s loved ones have announced the setup of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund. 

With this fund, her family and friends aim to help develop and progress the future of traditional Irish music, arts, culture and heritage for the younger generation. 

Ashling’s loved ones hope that the new memorial fund will allow her legacy to live on, and will help to showcase what a wonderful person she was.

“She was determined to succeed at whatever she turned her hand to, whether that be music or sports, and had an admirable personality, positive attitude and infectious smile that would brighten up any room she entered,” her loved ones have stated on their donation page.

As well as the beginning of the memorial fund, a number of scholarships have also been founded in memory of Ashling.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the leading organisation that promotes Irish music and dance, awarded three separate scholarships in honour of Ashling in August of last year, with each one valued at €2,000.

Limerick’s Mary Immaculate college, where Ashling had graduated with her teaching qualification, has also set up an entrance scholarship to honour her legacy. The scholarship is worth €4,000 and will be awarded to a first year Bachelor of Education student with a talent for traditional Irish music.

Since her death, a man has been charged with Ashling’s murder and the case is still ongoing.

Fans of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be shocked to hear that Lisa Rinna has decided to leave the show after eight seasons. 

Sharing the news with People, the 59-year-old explained the reason for her surprise departure in a brief statement.

This decision came after Lisa’s contract expired at the end of the last season, which finished in October 2022. The mum-of-two also confirmed that she and Bravo made a mutual decision for her not to return back for the new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Lisa first appeared on the show during its fifth season back in 2014. Other cast members included Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Lisa Vanderpump and Kim Richards.

As well as being part of the reality TV show based in Beverly Hills, Lisa acted in Days of Our Lives, Another Woman’s Husband and Close to Danger.

Lisa is married to Clash of the Titans star Harry Hamlin, who was shown in RHOBH from time to time alongside his wife in guest appearances. 

The pair share two daughters together- 24-year-old Delilah and 21-year-old Amelia, who also featured in the show during their younger years.

The Love Is Blind family is growing!

One of the stars of the show’s first season, Jessica Batten, has announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband Ben McGrath.

Jessica revealed the joyful news yesterday, to the delight of her 633K Instagram followers. The expectant mum shared a beautiful photoshoot of herself and Ben all dressed up, with her husband cradling her tiny bump and the pair making a heart-shaped fold with their joined hands.

“New Year, Same Me, New Mom!”, the 38-year-old gushed in her caption. “Sending the best wishes and blessings your way in 2023”. 

Jessica concluded her caption by revealing her due date. “We’re excited and humbled to share we will welcome our baby into the world and into our growing family in early June. Ahh!!!”, she exclaimed.

Since sharing the news of her pregnancy, many of Jessica’s fellow Love Is Blind alumni have been sending her messages of congratulations and well-wishes.

“Omggggg yayyyy congrats!!” penned Giannina Gibelli, who starred alongside Jessica in the first season of the Netflix dating show.

“Yayyy!! IG official! Hehe!”, wrote Kelly Chase, another first season star. “Love you and Ben and can’t wait to watch you become a Mom, Jess! Baby McGrath is so loved already!”

“This warms my heart. Congrats you two!”, commented Nick Thompson, who made it to the altar in the second season of Love Is Blind.

“Congratulations!!”, added Natalie Lee, who also appeared in season two. “so excited for you!!”.

Jessica found fame in February 2020, when she got engaged to Mark Cuevas after falling in love sight unseen on Love Is Blind. In the end, the pair did not find a happy ending, as Jessica said “I do not” at the altar. 

After watching the show, doctor Ben reached out to Jessica on Instagram and the pair subsequently entered into a whirlwind romance. By September 2021, the couple were engaged.

Exactly one year after their engagement, Jessica and Ben eloped in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, surrounded by just four guests.

Their first child together will join Ben’s other two children, daughter Poppy and son Ethan, whom he shares custody of from a previous relationship.

Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips, who is due to give birth in March, has opened up about a recent ‘scary’ experience she had where the 28-year-old checked into hospital as she noticed her baby wasn’t moving as much as they normally do.

Shaughna explained the worrying story in her OK! Column, revealing she had an infection that could have made her waters break early.

She said, “I've been feeling a little bit rubbish, not necessarily ill but not quite right either. I had a pain in my belly for about two or three days and noticed there was less movement from the baby”.

“I put two and two together and decided it was time for a visit to the hospital. I felt a little panicked”.

Phillips continued, “Luckily, there's a wing in the hospital that's like A&E for pregnant women. Doctors wanted to monitor me for a little while. So I was hooked up to a machine and given a button to press every time I felt movement”.

“The first 15 minutes I felt nothing, which scared me. Apparently it's common as the baby can feel the vibrations of the machine. Right after, the baby started moving like mad”.

The reality TV star then revealed doctors took blood and urine tests to see what the issue was. “It came back indicating that I had an infection, but they didn't know where it had stemmed from”.

“I had been really tired, I could barely keep my eyes open, which was a sign that my body was trying to fight it off. They think it's a urine infection. I wasn't convinced because I've had them before, but it didn't feel like this”.

The Love Islander added that she was told symptoms of urine infections can change when you’re carrying a baby, and she was later put on antibiotics to clear up the infection.

“They said if it goes untreated, it can cause your waters to break. It was really important that I went. It could have cleared up on its own, but also could have got worse”.

Shaughna announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Billy in October of last year.

The mum-to-be posted a sweet black and white video collage of her getting baby scans, cheerily holding up her positive pregnancy test and telling loved ones the wonderful news.

Hilaria Baldwin is preparing to celebrate her 39th birthday and to help her on the eve of her birthday, husband Alec has been ‘serenading’ her and their youngest daughter by singing to them in Spanish. 

Hilaria took to Instagram to share the cute video of Alec singing Mi Cuerpo Hace Musica, a Spanish children’s sing, to her and their three-month-old Ilaria, as she giggles in the background.

The mum-of-seven captioned the clip, “Finishing off 38 all wild and glam with Alec serenading us in Spanish…Elvis style”.

“He did his rendition of los pollitos right before. At least ilaria is amused”, joked Hilaria. “Thank you for all the early birthday wishes and feliz noche de reyes!”.

Many famous faces and fans alike headed to the comments to wish the yoga instructor well as she turns 39. Fans also mentioned how cute and full of personality Ilaria is, describing the tot as heart melting and adorable.

64-year-old Alec shared his own video to Instagram ahead of his wife’s birthday. Rather than posting himself singing, he asked his followers to follow his wife on Instagram so she could hit her goal of 1M followers as a birthday present.

The It’s Complicated actor explained, “Obviously I love my wife, obviously I'm crazy about my wife, obviously blah, blah, blah- all the things we say about people we're in love with".

"My wife's the most fabulous person I've ever met in my whole life. That's true. That's true. That's definitely true”.

He continued, “I would like as many of you as possible, I would like a really great, great surge of people to follow my wife on Instagram to say happy birthday to my wife”.

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are also parents to nine-year-old Carmen Gabriela, seven-year-old Rafael Thomas, six-year-old Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David, 4, Eduardo Pao Lucas, 2, and 22-month-old Maria Lucia Victoria.
