Joanna Page has been sharing details about the likelihood of Gavin and Stacey making its return to our screens.

Joanna starred as Stacey in the hit sitcom, which first aired in 2007, and has shared her insight into it making a comeback.

Despite the show’s creators James Corden and Ruth Jones being spotted in London together, Page admitted that it doesn’t seem likely that Gavin and Stacey fans will get to see what their favourite characters have been up to all these years later.

Opening up to MailOnline, Joanna explained, “I can see them never doing any more because it was nice to leave it on a cliffhanger because it's up to the viewer to imagine what would have happened. So I can imagine them ending it like that”.

“I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get the call, and I wouldn't be surprised if I did”.

The 46-year-old continued, “But all I can say is, if they were going to do another one I hope it's soon because we're all getting so old, I don't particularly want to see Stacey get that much older”.

“And if there is a comeback, I'll find out at the same time as the public because I don't get told anything”.

She also added, “Gavin and Stacey kids would be teenagers now, so that would be quite funny to see”.

Joanna then reflected on her time on the show and spoke about how much things have changed since it first aired. Since Gavin and Stacey first met on a blind date, Joanna shared how different she thinks it would be now for the characters.

“If you were going to do it these days, it would be totally different”.

“It all started with a phone call between Gavin and Stacey, but now everything would have been done by email or a Zoom call, you certainly wouldn't be sitting there chatting on the phone”.

Joanna went on to say, “There was smoking in nightclubs as well. It's so funny as it wasn't that long ago, but life has changed so much”.

The final episode of the sitcom, which aired in 2019, ended on a huge cliffhanger as Nessa, played by Ruth Jones, proposed to Smithy, played by James Corden. But fans were left on the edge of their seats as he never gave his answer to the all-important question.

The Tánaiste and the Garda Commissioner have spoken out following the riots in Dublin city centre last night.

Crowds descended onto the capital after a ‘serious incident’ took place yesterday at around 1:30pm, in broad daylight outside a school in Parnell Square East.

Two other children suffered lesser injuries. A five-year-old boy has been discharged and a six-year-old girl is continuing to receive treatment.

A man in his 50s, who is under guard and believed to be a suspect in the investigation, also suffered injuries and is currently in a serious condition.

Following the attacks, the scene of the incident and O’Connell Street became the target of arson and looting. In total, 13 shops suffered damage from last night's riots and several transport vehicles were set ablaze, including a Luas tram and three Bus Éireann vehicles.

A number of Gardaí were also injured, with one member currently receiving care in hospital for serious injuries. 34 people have since been arrested for the riots.

Earlier today, Tánaiste Micheál Martin condemned the "lawlessness” of the rioting that took place, and praised Gardaí "who had to put themselves in harm's way”.

"When you attack buses, when you attack a Luas, when you attack shops, you are attacking your own community, you're attacking a family, you're attacking friends, you're attacking workers," he added

Meanwhile, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris criticised the actions of those who sparked violence in the capital.

“We could not have anticipated that in response to a terrible crime, the stabbing of school children and their teacher, that this would be the response,” he stated, describing the riots as an “extraordinary outbreak of violence”.

“I don’t want to lose focus on the terrible event in terms of the dreadful assault on children and their schoolteacher, that is a full investigation. There is also a full investigation now in respect of the disorder,” Commissioner Harris affirmed.

Kate Garraway has shared that her husband Derek is in hospital once again.

The Good Morning Britain presenter has kept her fans up to date with her husband’s health, ever since he fell seriously ill with coronavirus at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The 56-year-old has been receiving regular medical care ever since he first contracted the virus. After initially being put in a coma and hospitalised for 13 months, Derek has now been left with lasting damage such as kidney failure, brain inflammation and liver damage.

Now, almost four years on from her husband’s life-threatening diagnosis, Kate has opened up about the latest developments in his journey with long Covid.

In an interview with Loose Women earlier today, the 56-year-old journalist noted that Derek is back in hospital again, but for a more uplifting reason.

“He's actually back in the hospital at the moment, I haven't talked about this, but not the horrific drama fortunately, because there have been lots of, as we all experience, referrals and cancellations,” she explained.

'He's gotten back in for something that he began last year, which he needed the second part of which will hopefully mean he has more movement, physical fractures,” Kate hoped, describing the procedure as a “positive hospital thing”.

“So he's actually not at home at the moment. So we’re in the visiting game, but hopefully won't be in for too long,” she added.

Kate, who shares two teenage children with Derek, then went on to illustrate the importance of carers within her husband’s daily life, and argued that they should not be considered as a ‘luxury’.

“If Derek didn't have someone caring for him he could die that day. We need to stop treating carers as a luxury,” she concluded.

Ellie Leach has opened up about her journey on Strictly Come Dancing so far!

Ellie, who previously played Faye Windass in ITV soap Coronation Street, is currently taking part in this year’s series of the hit BBC show.

After being partnered with professional dancer Vito Coppola for the past few months, Ellie is now one of the bookies’ favourites to win the competition.

However, the 22-year-old has now admitted that she has not always been confident in her abilities on the dancefloor.

In an interview with Closer magazine, Ellie opened up about how co-star Vito has helped her to find her passion for dancing.

“I’m having the best time with Vito. Not only is he teaching me about dance, but he’s teaching me a lot about myself. He is very patient, and he knows that when he pushes me, I can do things. Sometimes I don’t believe in myself, and he believes in me,” she gushed.

Ellie, who is rumoured to be dating Vito but has yet to address the speculation, then went on to add: “I’ve always struggled a little bit with confidence but he is like, ‘You can do this!’ I didn’t know I had that sass. That’s the side I didn’t realise that I had!”

The former soap star later detailed that the pair have been training “really hard”, joking: “Vito’s keeping me snacked up – we always have food on hand."

After previously being described as “finalist material” by head judge Shirley Ballas, Ellie went on to explain how that has affected her training process.

“To hear the finalist word, we were shocked! It’s not something you expect at all. But we’re taking baby steps. It’s day by day, hour by hour. It’s already going so fast, and if you think too much about the next step, you miss what’s happening right now,” she noted.

“Hopefully we’ll progress every week. The main thing is we go out there and enjoy ourselves,” she concluded.
