Serena Williams is going to be a mum again!

The retired tennis champion has announced that she is expecting her second child with her husband Alexis Ohanian. The couple are already parents to five-year-old daughter Olympia.

Serena chose to debut her pregnancy for the first time as she attended the annual Met Gala last night.

As well as having her baby bump on full display on the red carpet, the 41-year-old also took to Instagram to confirm that she is expecting again.

The mum-of-one posted some stunning photoshoot snaps of herself wearing her custom Gucci outfit. Serena also included a sweet image of herself posing with husband Alexis.

“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” the Grand Slam tennis champion penned in her caption, teasing her incoming arrival.

Many famous faces have since taken to Serena’s comments section to congratulate her on the wonderful news.

“Congrats,” wrote young tennis star Coco Gauff, followed by some love heart emojis.

“Yes!!!!!” Unwritten singer Natasha Bedingfield commented.

“AAAAYYYEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!”, exclaimed Creed star Michael B. Jordan.

Actress Nicola Peltz Beckham also shared her excitement by sending some heart-eyes emojis to the expectant parents.

Serena and Alexis have yet to confirm if they will be welcoming a son or a daughter.

The pair first met in Rome in May 2015 while staying at the same hotel. They subsequently began to date and, in December 2016, Serena accepted Alexis’ hand in marriage.

The couple went on to welcome their first child, daughter Olympia, into the world in September 2017. Then, in November of that same year, Serena and Alexis eventually tied the knot at a fairytale ceremony in New Orleans.

Congratulations to the happy family!

BIOME+ is a harmonious collection of three new products – a comforting cleanser, a hydrating serum and a smoothing moisturiser – formulated to respect and reinforce the skin’s protective barrier.

Mindfully produced in a LEED*-certified facility and formulated with natural-origin ingredients like botanical adaptogens and sugarcane-derived squalene, BIOME+ nurtures, hydrates, comforts and brightens skin without disrupting its natural state.

Michelle Ryan, Education Manager for IMAGE Skincare said, ‘The skins microbiome is essentially your skins flora – a network of good bacteria that’s found in the superficial layers of the skin. The purpose of this bacteria is to create balance while also protecting you from environmental factors and bad bacteria from entering the skin. Think of the microbiome as being your skin’s immune system! Occasionally, the microbiome can become off balance due to stress, medication, environment or simply using the wrong skincare and this results in breakouts, sensitivity and premature ageing. It’s really important to support the barrier of the skin prior to introducing new active skincare like Glycolic, Salicylic, enzymes or Retinol. This will ensure you are protecting your skin and maximising on the benefits of these ingredients.’

BIOME+ Dew Bright Serum

BIOME+ Dew Serum is a hybrid oil-in-serum formula that hydrates and improves uneven skin tone for a dewy, lit-from-within glow. Hints of lavender, lemon peel and green tea provide a subtle aroma while certified microbiome friendly squalene, derived from sugarcane, helps to enhance elasticity for skin that looks smooth, supple and soft.

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid draws water to the skin, locking it in for rapid and long-lasting hydration while sustainably grown micro-sunflower extract helps to boost clarity and luminosity.

BIOME+ Smoothing Cloud Crème

BIOME+ Smoothing Cloud Crème is a cushioning moisturiser that delivers maximum hydration and brings vitality and bounce to the skin while helping to minimise the look of open pores.

The fluffy, cloud-like formula, which melts beautifully upon application, is made with fermented, natural squalane that helps to give a plump and smooth appearance to the skin. The thick crème, which has a light awakening scent of grapefruit, contains a blend of flax and celery extracts that help to improve uneven texture while micro sunflower extracts promote radiance.

The renowned singer took to Instagram to share pictures and videos of the festive occasion, showcasing the elaborate decorations, party favours, and an impressive four-tier birthday cake.

The birthday bash was held at the family's luxurious home in Beverly Hills, California, where the children's closest friends and family members were invited to join in on the fun. The theme for the celebration was "Under the Sea," and the decor featured blue and green balloons, sea creature-shaped props and a large inflatable slide.

Mariah Carey, who is known for her love of extravagant celebrations, made sure that her children had an unforgettable birthday party. The twins wore matching outfits in shades of blue, accessorised with sea-themed jewellery and posed for pictures in front of the party's impressive decorations.

The birthday cake, which was created by a renowned celebrity baker, was a four-tiered masterpiece, decorated with seashells, pearls and a miniature mermaid figurine. Moroccan and Monroe blew out the candles on the cake and their proud mother captured the moment on camera.

In addition to the party favours, which included personalized t-shirts, beach towels and sunglasses, the guests were treated to a variety of entertainment options. A face painter was on hand to create sea-themed designs on the children's faces and a balloon artist created intricate balloon animals.

Mariah Carey's love for her children is evident in the way she celebrates their birthdays. In previous years, the singer has thrown extravagant parties with themes like "Princess" and "Superhero." The celebrations have featured live performances by celebrity musicians, custom-made cakes and a variety of activities for the children to enjoy.

The twins, who were born on April 30, 2011, have been a constant source of joy for Mariah Carey. In interviews, the singer has spoken about the challenges of raising twins, but also about the immense love she has for them.

In 2020, Mariah Carey released her memoir, "The Meaning of Mariah Carey," which included details about her pregnancy with the twins and the challenges she faced during childbirth. The book also revealed the singer's deep connection with her children and how they have inspired her throughout her career.

Mariah Carey is not the only celebrity parent to throw lavish birthday parties for their children. In recent years, celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, and Kylie Jenner have also thrown elaborate birthday celebrations for their children, often featuring themes and decorations that rival those of weddings and other major events.

While some people criticize these extravagant celebrations, others argue that it is a parent's prerogative to celebrate their child's birthday in any way they choose. For many parents, a child's birthday is a special occasion that should be celebrated with all the pomp and circumstance they can muster.

In any case, Moroccan and Monroe's 12th birthday party was undoubtedly a memorable occasion, filled with love, laughter, and plenty of sea-themed decor. As Mariah Carey continues to raise her twins, she will spare no expense to make sure that they have the happiest birthdays possible.

Dearest reader, ever since it was first announced in May 2021, Bridgerton fans have been desperate to view its highly-anticipated prequel miniseries. Well, at long last, it's time for its release – and I think it’s worth the wait.

This six-part miniseries takes us right back to the days of young Charlotte (played by India Amarteifio), who is sent to London by her brother and forced into an arranged marriage with King George (Corey Mylchreest).

Avid fans of the Bridgerton series will have already seen a glimpse of the couple’s so-called ‘meet cute’, as Netflix chose to tease the scene during their TUDUM event last September. However, the rest of the scene is far from disappointing!

I found myself instantly charmed by their relationship, especially from the second Charlotte learns about George’s true identity. He instantly puts her at ease and you can’t deny that they are magical together. Despite their inevitable struggles with Charlotte’s hesitancy and George’s ill fate, you can’t help but root for them.

As the series progresses, their story unravels beautifully – in particular, the background surrounding King George. In the main Bridgerton series, the time we have spent with the older King has been minimal so far. However, this minseries allows the audience to truly get to know him, and I found it fascinating (and heartbreaking) to learn the backstory of George’s developing ‘madness’.

For me, though, the series has two main standouts. Firstly, India Amarteifio is enchanting as the young Queen. Not only does she have a remarkable resemblance to present-day Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel), but she also completely nails everything about her tone.

Credit: Liam Daniel / Netflix

Despite being only seventeen years old, Charlotte has all of the defiance, confidence and poise that her elder self possesses. I’ll be honest and say that before watching this miniseries, Queen Charlotte would have been placed fairly low in my list of favourite Bridgerton characters… but now? She’s arisen to a much higher ranking – as she deserves.

Alongside recounting the early days of Charlotte and George’s marriage, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story also gives us the equally intriguing backstory to the life of Lady Danbury (played by Arsema Thomas). Even though I cannot say too much about her plot, I guarantee that her story is worth the wait!

Thomas’ performance has been the second standout for me. I was shocked to learn that this was her TV debut, as you would never be able to tell. She captures Agatha’s spirit beautifully, whilst also giving us plenty of that cheeky spark and wit that we have come to love with the older Danbury.

Credit: Nick Wall / Netflix

If all of this excitement wasn’t enough, the miniseries runs in parallel with the so-called ‘present-day’ goings on in the Ton. Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell have all reprised their roles as the elder Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton respectively. Their storylines pick up immediately after the end of season two, making us feel like we haven’t missed a beat since we last saw them.

While Violet and Agatha continue to get up to their typical mischief, Queen Charlotte becomes frantic at the realisation that her own children have yet to produce an heir to the throne. “Make me a royal baby,” she demands, which is hilariously reminiscent of what her own mother-in-law orders from her in her youth.

Credit: Nick Wall / Netflix

I did worry that the present-day thread would feel lacking without Violet's children and the Featheringtons (we do get the odd mention of the young Bridgertons and a brief glimpse of Daphne’s little ones, but they are otherwise nowhere to be seen). However, the natural charisma of these three leading ladies makes you feel right back at home in the Bridgerton world.

Overall, going into this prequel, I was concerned that my previous lack of interest in Queen Charlotte’s story would hinder my enjoyment of it. However, I’m delighted to say that I was wrong – this miniseries strongly stands on its own two feet.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story launches on Netflix this Thursday, May 4. In my opinion, it’s the perfect treat to tide us over until the (hopefully, not too far away!) launch of Bridgerton season 3.

Do you feel like you're the only one putting effort into your relationship? Do you wish your partner was more invested and committed to building a strong connection with you? We're taking a look at the practical and effective ways to get your relationship of that kind of level, from improving communication to creating meaningful experiences.

Why does he seem like he's not that interested in investing time in the relationships?

There can be many reasons why men may not invest time in their relationships, ranging from trust issues to feeling vulnerable, as well as other less talked about reasons.

Mommy Issues: Mommy issues in men can manifest in a variety of ways. For example, they may have difficulty forming close relationships with women or may struggle with intimacy and emotional closeness. However, it is important to note that not all men who struggle with investing time in their relationships have mommy issues.

Fear of Vulnerability: Some men may struggle with being vulnerable with their partners, making investing time in the relationship difficult. They may worry about being hurt or rejected and may avoid investing time as a way to protect themselves.

Work/Life Balance: Men may be focused on their careers or other obligations, which can make it difficult for them to prioritise their relationships. This can lead to a lack of investment in the relationship.

Trust Issues: Men who have experienced betrayal or trauma in their past relationships may struggle with trusting their partners. This can make it difficult for them to invest time in the relationship, as they may be hesitant to open up and be vulnerable.

Personal Issues: Men may be dealing with personal issues such as depression, anxiety, or addiction, which can make it difficult for them to invest time in their relationships.

How to help him get invested in your relationship

Building a strong, healthy relationship takes effort from both partners. If you feel like your man is not as invested in your relationship as you would like, there are steps you can take.

Communication: this is one of the most important aspects of any relationship, and it can be a powerful tool for both sides. The way in which you communicate is key:

  • Be Clear and Honest about Your Feelings: Don't be afraid to express your emotions and let your man know how you feel about him and the relationship. Communication is all about expressing yourself, so don't hold back.

  • Listen Actively: Communication is a two-way street, so make sure to actively listen to what your man has to say. Pay attention to his words and nonverbal cues to better understand his perspective.

  • Be Open to Compromise: Relationships are all about compromise, so be willing to meet your man halfway. If he has concerns or reservations about the relationship, listen to what he says and try to find a solution that works for both of you.

  • Create a Safe Space for Communication: Make sure your man feels comfortable sharing his thoughts and feelings with you. Be supportive and non-judgemental, and avoid criticizing or belittling him.

  • Schedule Regular Check-ins: Regularly checking in with each other can help keep the lines of communication open and ensure that both of you are on the same page. This can be as simple as having a weekly date night or check-in session.

Spend Quality Time Together: this one sounds like a simple one, but it can often be missed, so you both need to learn to make it a priority:

  • Plan Regular Date Nights: Setting aside time each week or month to spend together without any distractions is important. This could be a dinner date, movie night, or any activity that you both enjoy.

  • Be Present in the Moment: Put away your phone and other distractions when you're spending time together. Focus on the present moment and enjoy each other's company.

  • Try New Things Together: You can discover new activities or hobbies together. This can be a great way to bond and create new memories.

  • Plan activities that both of you enjoy doing together. This could be anything from cooking a meal to going for a hike or watching a movie. This helps to create shared experiences and can strengthen your bond.

Build Trust: if there is no trust it's difficult to move a relationship forward, when you both feel trust there will be an easier path to an investment for both partners. To ensure you achieve this:

  • Keep Your Promises: If you say you'll do something, follow through. Keeping your promises shows your partner that you can be reliable.

  • Respect Boundaries: Everyone has boundaries, and respecting them is important. If your partner has limitations, you should respect them rather than push them. Instead, work together to find a compromise that works for both of you.

  • Be Consistent: Consistency is essential when building trust. Be reliable and dependable, and do what you say you will do. This will show your partner that they can count on you.

  • Show Appreciation: In as much as we need to feel loved and appreciated, your partner does too, so it's important to show it. Showing appreciation will help build a positive relationship and foster trust.

Investing in a relationship requires effort and commitment from both partners. By fostering open communication, expressing appreciation, creating shared experiences, and respecting each other's boundaries, you can help your man become more invested in your relationship. Remember, a strong and fulfilling relationship is a journey, not a destination, and it's worth putting in the time and effort to make it thrive.

Kate Middleton has been delighted by an unexpected run-in with a baby boy.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited the village of Aberfan near Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales earlier today.

It was the first time that the royal couple have ever visited the area. Their trip included a commemoration of the Aberfan mining disaster of 21 October 1966, in which a coal landslide destroyed a primary school and killed 144 people.

116 of the victims were school children, with only four teachers managing to survive the incident.

During their visit to Aberfan, William and Kate attended the Pantglas Primary School Memorial Garden, where they were met with a welcoming crowd.

One such fan was one-year-old baby Daniel, who was accompanied by his mother Lucy Williams. To their surprise, the mother-and-son duo ended up having a “memorable” moment with the Princess.

During their conversation, baby Daniel took a liking to Kate’s black Mulberry handbag, which is worth a hefty £675. The 41-year-old royal began to chuckle as the youngster took the bag out of her grasp and began to play with it.

Credit: The Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram

Giving into baby Daniel’s wishes, the Princess moved on and continued to greet the rest of the crowd, before eventually coming back to retrieve her handbag.

Speaking of her moment with the Princess, mother-of-two Lucy was in awe. “He just stole her handbag. He took a shine to it and she let him play with it,” she exclaimed.

"I think she sympathised with how hard it is with children. She said, 'He can have it to play with, I'll come back for it!' like it was any other person in the street,” Lucy added in an interview with ITV.

William and Kate's visit to Aberfan today followed in the footsteps of the Prince’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

In 1974, the late Queen opened the memorial garden in tribute to the 144 victims. The garden provided a place for grieving families, survivors and the community to come together to remember the lives lost.

Frankie Essex has shared an insight into her motherhood journey since welcoming her twins into the world.

The former The Only Way is Essex star have birth to her twins, Logan and Luella, in May of last year and has been keeping fans up to date on being a twin-mum on social media.

Writing in her OK! column, Frankie shared details about why she feels delirious since having her babies.

The 35-year-old revealed that sleep deprivation has been hitting her hard, even making her feel ‘drunk’ at times.

Frankie explained, “Being a new mum is so tiring. My friend, who recently had a baby, tried to put the baby’s bottle on charge the other day because she was so tired. It’s awful that feeling – you’re just so f**ked, basically”.

“You feel drunk and delirious. Sleep deprivation is the maddest thing. I never knew it was that mental until having kids”.

She continued, “It’s so hard. I’ve never had to experience sleep deprivation like that before – only when I was in Ibiza partying, but nothing to the extreme”.

“I go to sleep early, but I still wake up around 6.30am to check the babies. I tried to give the app Calm a go, but I just like having the fan on in our room for white noise”.

Essex then opened up about finally being able to enjoy watching TV while in bed for the first time since having Logan and Luella.

“Being a mum is a bit like groundhog day. You have to keep doing the same thing every day. You can’t just wake up and lie in bed and relax – there’s no such thing”.

She added, “Luke and I last night, for the first time in nearly a year, actually got in bed and watched telly. Obviously the babies used to be in our room so we couldn’t do that then because we were scared to wake them up”.

“We’re both still exhausted from Sunday, even though it was Luke doing the actual marathon, and I said, ‘Ooo the new I’m A Celeb has started… let’s go watch it in bed’. I can’t remember the last time we did that. It was so nice and I felt so relaxed”.

“It’s practically taken us a year to get even a little bit back to normal, but that’s the reality of having twins I suppose!”, the mum-of-two admitted.
