With Jimmy Kimmel heading up this year's Oscars, it's no real surprise that he decided to bring one of his most popular chat show segments along with him, right?

While Hollywood's biggest and brightest gushed over each other's achievements at the 89th Academy Awards last night, Jimmy Kimmel made it his business to bring the stars down a peg or two with the help of the ever-popular Celebrities Read Mean Tweets.

From Ryan Gosling to Samuel L Jackson, Hollywood's A-listers took on their trolls, and while it's definitely not the most vicious we've ever come across, some people really twist the knife.

(Eddie Redmayne, you have our deepest sympathies on this one.)

We'll let the people of the hour take it from here…

Ah lads. There was something in the water at last night's Oscars if the latest report emerging Stateside is anything to go by.

While the industry is likely still recovering from the now infamous Best Picture gaffe, a leading Australian movie producer named Jan Chapman is reportedly devastated to have been featured in the award show's In Memoriam montage.

Intending to pay tribute to the late Janet Patterson, a four-time Oscar nominee who passed away in 2015, the academy accidentally ran a photo of her friend and colleague Jan Chapman.

Issuing a statement following the unfortunate error, Jan said: "I was devastated by the use of my image in place of my great friend and long-time collaborator Janet Patterson."

"I had urged her agency to check any photograph which might be used and understand that they were told that the Academy had it covered," she asserted.

Paying tribute to her peer, Jan continued: "Janet was a great beauty and four-time Oscar nominee and it is very disappointing that the error was not picked up."

Lest there be any further confusion, Jan added: "I am alive and well and an active producer."

The In Memoriam tribute film featured stars including Carrie Fisher, Prince and Debbie Reynolds.

And it was all going so well…

There was major confusion on stage last night at the Oscars when Bonnie and Clyde duo, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the winners for Best Picture.

It seemed to be La La Land’s night as the cast and crew walked to the stage to accept the big award of the night.

As the elated team behind this year’s hit movie began their speeches, the impossible happened.

Yes, in a moment we thought only reserved for Steve Harvey, they announced a mistake had been made.

And just to make it even worse, it was La La Land’s producer, Jordan Horowitz who had to announce the mistake and held up the card revealing the real winner – Moonlight.

As the audience burst into chatter, the team behind Moonlight made their way to the stage in what was a truly shocking Oscar moment.

Many of the stars present took to Twitter to share their shock also.

Taking to the mic after the mistake was announced, Warren Beatty said:

"I want to tell you what happened. I opened the envelope and it said ‘Emma Stone – La La Land’. That’s why I took such a long look at Faye and at you, I wasn’t trying to be funny.

“This is Moonlight – the Best Picture”

We warn you, watch the footage through your fingers.

First Dates Ireland has become one of our favourite TV shows.

And we all like to believe that those on the show will fall madly in love and enjoy many more dates to come.

But, did you know they get paid for it?

According to the Irish Sun, the participants on the show are offered €50 to say yes to going on a second date. Hmmm…

Apparently, there was such a low number of successful matches last year that the show bosses gave a little incentive for their to be love in the air.

A former dater told the publication: “We were offered €25 walking into the date, presumably meant as some sort of generous form of compensation for going on a date which would be seen by the nation.

“When the date had ended and they separated us to get our honest views on how it had all gone, I was then offered €50 by one of the production team if I said I’d be up for going on a second date with her, so I obviously took it!”

RTÉ declined to comment on the claims when contacted by the Irish Sun.

So, did they all even fancy each other?!

The statistics are frightening: in the last decade, the number of breast cancer cases in this country has risen by a third.

Annual diagnoses now stand at some 2,800 women.

As well as dealing with the disease, many of these women are faced with overcoming the lack of self-esteem that comes with the physical changes they experience.

One of the most common side effects of cancer treatment is hair loss, and it’s the one that many women find the most difficult to deal with.

However, over the years, more and more treatments have become available to these women that can help them regain some of that confidence.

And nobody knows that better than Elaine McParland of Up To My Eyes beauty salon.

Over the years, Elaine says she has seen a huge increase in women suffering from cancer coming to her salon for help.

“A lot of these women know they’re going to lose their brow hair once they begin treatment," Elaine says.

“We know we can help women look better, and therefore, feel better.”

Thinking about ways she and her staff could help, Elaine has decided to offer their services free of charge to five women over the next five weeks.

Check out the video below for all the details of their amazingly generous competition.

Whatsapp has just brought in a new feature, and it's pretty much the same as Snapchat.

The messaging app is now letting its users to share photos, videos and gifs that will vanish from their timeline within 24 hours.

You will also be able to write on your images and decorate them. Sound familiar?

The new feature is called Status and according to the Mail Online, it was introduced because Whatsapp wants to move away from traditional texting methods.

But, Whatsapp isn't the only app to welcome this feature. In the past year alone, Facebook and Instagram has offered its users similar components to its services, with rumours that Twitter is going to follow suit.

Is it just us, or are all the social media networks morphing into one?

Whether you want to buy one for your 12-year-old niece or you know… you, these Disney princess chokers are absolutely everything.

And they're basically made by a real princess (kinda – they're made by actress, Courtney Reed, who plays Jasmine in Broadway's Aladdin, so she's basically a princess, right?).

Anyway, aptly named The Princess Collection, it includes 15 different necklaces which are all inspired by movie heroines, ranging from Elsa to Mulan and Meg.

We're pretty obsessed with Pocahontas' choker, because it brings back those early Naughties vibes, but the whole collection is gorgeous:

Ariel, The Little Mermaid

Snow White, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Aurora, Sleeping Beauty
