According to emerging reports, a man was shot in the shoulder during a scuffle with an off-duty garda in the capital in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood that the incident took place at the junction of Kingsland Parade and Portobello Road in Portobello at approximately 2am.

Due to the involvement of a member of the force, the Garda Watchdog Body GSOC is obligated to launch an investigation under Section 102 of the Garda Siochana Act.

The act states that "any matter that appears to the Garda Commissioner to indicate that the conduct of a member of the Garda Síochána may have resulted in the death of, or serious harm to, a person”.

Confirming the incident, a spokesperson for the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission said: "GSOC received a Section 102 referral, for death or serious harm, from the gardaí. A GSOC team has been deployed to the scene."

A number of emergency services attended the scene which remains cordoned off this morning.

It is understood that one person has been taken to hospital in the wake of the incident.

It has amassed more than 465,000 views since its upload last Friday, and it's not hard to see why.

With the local church in Menlough, Co Galway as the backdrop, an entire wedding party danced with each other in front of the alter… at the behest of Fr. John O' Gorman.

Shared by Make My Day Productions on their Facebook page, the footage shows Fr. O' Gorman bring the father of the bride to his feet before leading him to the bride for an impromptu father/ daughter dance.

To the tune of Your Wedding Day By Jimmy Buckley, Rois Lydon danced with her father before her new husband, Paudie Mannion, got to his feet with Rois's mother.

With applause echoing throughout the church, the rest of the wedding party got to their feet and danced, with Fr. John O'Gorman saying: "If you can dance in a hotel you can dance in a church".

"Below is just one of the great moments from the wedding of Rois M Lydon and Paudie Mannion. Trailer to come later," read the caption of the video which has been liked more than 5,500 times so far.

Ladies, this is one to remember.

Those of you afraid of killer clowns, creepy babysitters or Donald Trump, please look away now.

The first official trailer for American Horror Story: Cult has landed, and it looks like season seven might just be the most chilling yet.

The scene opens with a screaming Sarah Pauson stood frozen with shock as a television reporter announces that Donald Trump has been elected – confirming rumours that Cult would take on the 2016 presidential election in some shape or form.

Meanwhile, Evan Peter's character, who sports long, unwashed, blue hair, has quite the opposite reaction to Trump's victory.

It is then revealed that Ally (Sarah Paulson) suffers from coulrophobia, otherwise known as a fear of clowns, which may have been exasperated by the results of the election.

She tells her therapist: “Since election night, it has all been getting so much worse.”

Her fear escalates as a clown-loving babysitter who hates children seems to play some part in terrorising the mother-of-one.

According to AHS creator, Ryan Murphy, Cult is “about illuminating and highlighting people who don’t have a voice in our culture — people who are ignored by the current administration and who are afraid and feel terrorised that their lives are going to be taken away.”

American Horror Story: Cult premieres September 5. Take a look at the full clip below:

Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding are due in court this morning to face rape charges.

The Ulster and Ireland rugby players have strongly denied the allegations made against them, with Stuart Olding's solicitor saying he “is anxious to clear his name in court.”

Jackson, 25, is charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault. Olding, 24, is charged with two counts of rape against the same woman.

The assault is alleged to have taken place in Belfast in June of last year.

Four men were arrested and questioned in relation to the incident last summer, however, they were released pending a report being submitted to prosecuters in Northern Ireland.

The two other men have been charged with lesser counts of exposure and perverting the course of justice.

The IRFU and Ulster Rugby have relieved the player from their duties until the court process is over.

Taylor Swift shocked fans earlier this week by deleting the entirety of her social media accounts.

There is major speculation that this wipe out means that Taylor is planning something big, like a new album.

Now, the country music-turned-pop songstress has had her fandom in uproar, as she has began leaking videos of what see to be snakes onto her Instagram.

The second video has already been viewed almost three million times, and it was only uploaded this afternoon.

The Taylor Swift fandom is essentially writhing in excitement and agony as they wait in anticipation for the announcement of whatever it is Taylor is plotting.

Fans cannot help but point out how Taylor is using Kim Kardashian's snake emoji slagging to her advantage in the launch of whatever these videos lead up to.

Most fans think that Taylor will drop new music this coming Friday.

Others have said that the snake-like creature looks like it could be a dragon thanks to the pronounced scales covering the body of the creature.

Whatever is happening, it's bound to be something big.

Director Joseph Kahn also tweeted a smiley face in response to the videos.

Kahn has directed a number of Tyalor's music videos before, so fans are hoping that this confirms the new music rumours.

Everyday, a new story comes out of the US about the double standards implemented in many of the high school and middle school dress codes across the pond.

At some schools, female students are presented with a list of extensive rules which dictate how long their sleeves should be, what length a skirt can be, and how much shoulder is too much to show.

San Benito high school in Hollister, California is one such school, and as the school's girls returned to education after the summer, they were told that off-the-shoulder tops (one of the season's biggest trends) were unacceptable.

In protest, the male students at the school came in wearing off-the-shoulder tops themselves, to highlight the ridiculous nature of the dress code.

'A lot of people want to emphasise the male students' part in this protest, which I respect, but the purpose of this whole thing was to protest sexism against female students,' Andrei Vladimirov, a student at San Benito  told Teen Vogue.

'Not being able to wear a certain type of shirt may seem like a minor problem to some people, but it is representative of something much larger in society — the fact that women are still, today, being subjected to the dominance of male ideology.'

'Women deserve to be treated with the utmost respect, and this entails being able to dress as one pleases.'

'Women should be able to wear what they want without being systemically objectified — treated as if they have no personal sovereignty,' he finished.

While it is unfortunate that it was only after the male students stepped in to protest the dress code that it gained attention, hopefully this will be a step in the right direction of dismantling sexist dress codes for good.
